Overall, I recommend the service here it's always top-notch. However, I plan to take this up with the annex in South Boston regarding an employee that works there. She is an employee of the USPS Winter Hill branch Somerville and is extremely belligerent, loud crass, rude, and argumentative however, that is only one individual, overall a great post office read more

Train wreck. Whenever I receive an email or msg regarding a priority delivery it rarerely comes the day the alert states. As usual I was expecting a package on 1/31 per their garbage website. It never occurred. No updates. One would assUme that it would be here on 2/1 as the garbage websitE states. No dleivery. Their website is designed to put you into a loop and provide you nothing. One of the may reason to mmmm use them except for real snail mail that ends up in recycle bin. Great job as usual. read more

I only continue to come here because I live right next to it, but this is the slowest post office of all time. There are people waiting outside and it takes about 10 minutes per customer to go in and out. Im not sure what takes the employees so long read more

Staff is rude. Their only concern is getting people out the door, rather than helping them. I asked one woman working which package to use based on my pre-paid label, she told me to read the label to figure it out. I let her know I had and wasn't sure, that's why I needed help, she said "well it says right on it." Aside from awful customer service, no package I've ever had delivered through this office ever arrived when they said it would. Even when their website would indicate the package as "delivered," they always mysteriously don't come for at least another week and no one in the office can explain to me why or where it is before then. I avoid using this office at all cost, to the point where I have things delivered to friends and family instead simply to avoid them. I recommend to everyone they do the same. read more

Worse place to go to. Worse customer service and unhelpful clerk. You can't ask a question cause the miserable lady that works there expects you to know all mailing procedures. Ridiculous read more

I'm only leaving a review bc I almost avoided this place entirely and drove out of my way to go to a different post office based on the horrible reviews that yelpers had left previously. I had a package to ship and successfully made it in and out working 2 minutes. The only negative Is parking is limited but overall no problems or complaints. read more

This is by far the best usps I've ever been to. Not too crowded and very friendly/helpful people right there. read more

US Post Office - Post Offices Near Me - Somerville, Massachusetts

They lose packages all the time and never answer their phone. Several of the female staff members are super rude and unfriendly.

One of the best USPSs I've used in the Somerville area. Nice people working & I'm always in/out of here whenever I drop in w/in 10 minutes. Very nice people working here as well, should be used as a model for other locations. read more

Worst customer service I've ever received the old blonde was totally rude when i asked about taping my package I even offered to buy tape and she said I can go to another one had an attitude the old time I was there I'm wondering how she was even hired in the first place how'd she make it past the interview process I'll never return. read more

I have to go to the Post Office every day for work, normally I go to the Wellesley location on Grove St. But today I stopped by here on the way home. The staff was knowledgeable, efficient, and very nice. It's a smaller branch but everything moved pretty fast. The Wellesley branch I go to is okay, everyone is nice as pie, but they are lacking a sense of urgency. The Winter Hill Location did just fine by me. read more

Contrary to other reviewers, my experience here was frustrating. First, I was mailing two relatively large items that were packed in identical boxes. The first one went smoothly but for the second one, the clerk told me that I would have to pay a surcharge of around $25 because of its size. Keep in mind the two boxes were identical. When I pointed this out, she took the first one back from the out pile and told me I would have to pay the surcharge on that one too. No apology. I realize that the rules need to be followed, and I'm happy to pay what's due, but I feel that some acknowledgement that the price on the first package suddenly tripling was not a good thing, and that measuring only the second of two identical packages was kind of stupid, would have been appropriate. Fortunately, I was able to send the items Parcel Post instead of Priority Mail and avoid the surcharges. I was also mailing another item which was in a large envelope that I had packed myself. It turned out that it would be significantly cheaper to repack it into a flat rate Priority Mail envelope, which she gave to me. I did not want to tie up her window while I repacked it, so I asked her to charge me for everything and then I would bring it back to her when I was done. I paid, and then went off to repack the item (first being unnecessarily reminded that there were only five minutes until closing). When I returned, it turned out that she had in fact not charged me for the envelope and so I had to complete a second transaction. Sigh. I did get my packages mailed but I did not find this post office particularly welcoming, friendly, or helpful. Fortunately, this location is not close to my usual patterns, so I will not need to return. The location is somewhat hard to find (it fronts on a busy road but is in a nondescript brick building with several other businesses and there is no sign facing traffic), and the parking situation was unclear to me. I parked at a meter but there are only a handful. I would suggest using a different post office. read more

Horrible customer service. I had to ask a minimum of six times for the young postal worker to try and track my package. Had i not spoken english they would not have looked. I watched as another employee belittled a lovely and elderly spanish-speaking woman. Racist and 'can't be bothered'civil servant mentality. My postal carrier is lovely but these women representative the not so veiled racism and classism that put Boston on the map during busing. read more

I have gone to this location on 4 occasions. Only 1 of my items ever made it to their final destination. The 3rd time, I lost my tracking # which sucks cuz it's been 8 weeks since I sent it to no avail. The last time I went, which will be the last time ever, I am still waiting for the tracking # to show where it is. But it's only been 6 days (sarcasm intended). I'm almost convinced they just throw my stuff in the trash. They are nice enough, I suppose. read more

The service at this location is terrible. Today takes the cake though! They're only scheduled to be open for 5 hours from 8-1; however, they opened the storefront over an hour and a half late, and then at 11, they locked the door on customers waiting outside, for an hour, so they could "catch up on mail." Need I remind you, you are not a private business! read more

If I could, I would put -5 star ratings. I had a $400 dollar package intercept to go to this location, and I wanted to pick it up at this location because of how expensive it was. I went online and followed the procedure to be held at that location. Winter Hill had sent it back to the original mail address the first time. I called and asked about it, and it was sent back to Winter Hill again. I went to pick it up a second time. Not only did they not have the package, or know where it was, or care, the desk lady criticized us like children about using their location (which was allowed) as a post office in front of a full room of customers. read more

After poor customer service experiences at 3 different post offices in Cambridge, and the inability to park anywhere near the Cambridge offices, I decided to give this location a try, as it features its own parking lot. Parking was a snap, and the service was friendly, courteous, and efficient. I greatly enjoyed chatting with the person handling my packages, Jennifer. This will be the location I return to! read more

I was out of town due to a death in the family, so I called up this post office knowing that I had a certified letter there waiting for me to pick up. Turns out my letter was at another post office but the person I spoke to took the time to call the other office and ask them to hold it for me. It's easy to get frustrated with the postal system but the kindness I was shown here is worthy of five stars. read more

They can do business in 4-5 languages at this little post office--TRULY serving the people in my community! In addition, THEY ALL ROCK, EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM. No, I am not related :). read more

I walk by here regularly on my way to work. Every morning people are waiting to get in, after 8:00 am. I tried to drop a package off on a Saturday and they had locked the doors before it was actually closing time. Is it too much to ask employees to work the hours they are supposed to work? Oh, and the package I sent from here never arrived which cost me $159.00 read more

Honestly, the worst post office I have used in any of the countries I've lived. The first time I went in, I stood in a stationary queue for 45 minutes (no exaggeration) because a new member of staff couldn't get into a locked cupboard to retrieve somebody's delivery. Eventually a man sat behind the counter pulled the keys out of his pocket and handed them to her. No idea if this was about teaching the new staff member a lesson at the expense of the customers, but the apparent high turnover of younger staff suggests that it's as unpleasant to be an employee dealing with the bitter regular staff as it is a customer. The most recent time was the worst yet, and prompted me to sign up for Yelp. When I arrived, there were two men already trying to send mail. One was on the phone trying to get the very specific information the staff had asked him for, and eventually left defeated. The other was trying to send the document needed to get his wife and young child back in to the country after a problem on vacation, and the staff were absurdly unpleasant to him. I was in there for 30 minutes and the whole time he was being given more and more forms to fill in, some apparently specific to business? Despite how unhelpful the staff were being, he was calm and polite, but obviously worried about the difficulty of the process he was going through to make sure his family were ok. He asked how much longer it'd be because he had an interview and he hadn't expected it to take so much time to mail a single document to another country, and the woman serving me made a jerk-off motion about him to me. WTF? My own experience wasn't much better - I was sending my regular mail to family in Europe, and for some reason that day they'd decided it was going to be $13.90 each. She told me after completing the first and starting the second. I asked if there were any cheaper options, but she said no, even though it usually costs me about a quarter of that. I told her to stop after that one because I couldn't afford to mail the rest and she told me "Yeah, it's expensive to mail to Europe," but then began stamping the next envelope while I was holding out my cash to her. I had to physically lean over the counter and remove the envelopes to avoid being charged a bizarrely large amount of money to send mail against my will. It's genuinely baffling. I've never experienced customer service this bad in the United States. The core staff, who seem to always be in there, are rude and abrasive, and seem to thrive on the power they hold. I've made the mistake of not going out of my way to avoid this post office, but I won't ever use it again, and nor should you. read more
