This location is very convenient and allows me to give the five stars. Included in the rating it comes with realizing they must be really busy in the back rooms because half the time there is need to ring the bell on the front counter for front desk service. Lots of tellers keeping the lines short and a large space for and expensive mall. There is an automated machine for those who are more independent and confident. If you're in a hurry, definitely use the machine. The deal: you cannot use the automated machine for Express Mail or international shipping. read more

With family out of state we mail packages and letters frequently and we were so looking forward to having a USPS within walking distance. We have been loyal customers from childhood and have multiple save the USPS stickers lying around and have posted using the hashtag by the same name. I had a PO Box at the Huntington Beach, CA location on Atlantic for years and always got great service. I was mortified upon meeting the staff at this location, when I left I almost cried not for my one bad experience but for seeing a snapshot of why our beloved USPS is being allowed to die off. One politician cannot ruin an institution every American supports but if all of Boston is turned away, treated the way we were who is left to support them. If they trash their own champions, how can they survive? I paid for a USPS PO Box online, and it was not the refusal of service that was harsh as much as the horrific delivery. The first woman I encountered was kind and helpful but since I did not have home owner or vehicle insurance as we rent and utilize zero emission transportation as much as possible - she had to ask for her supervisor's permission. I was directed to Leslie who immediately rolled her eyes, scoffed, and raised her voice at me as she declined my multiple forms of ID. I asked how someone with no home-owner's or vehicle owner's insurance need can get a USPS PO Box - she said "They can't! That is how the US Postal service works!" I explained I had in one in CA as I presented her my driver's license, passport, certified marriage license thinking three legal documents proving my identity should be sufficient. She declined so I asked for my $150 back. She said go online, I pulled up the website and saw "Apply for a refund at the Post Office where the PO Box is located" This made her yell louder and gesture at me as if to shoo me away, "If you paid online, you refund online!" I asked if there was a number I can call instead of online. She told me to look up the 800 number, I asked her to write it down. She rolled her eyes and wrote a 617 number down as she explained the tall, heavyset woman leaning at the next window was her superior if I had a problem with that. I asked how displaced citizens have access to purchase a PO Box but a renter does not? She then shrieked "That is only at 25 Dorchester!!" I asked her to write the address for me, she only repeated 25 Dorchester. I asked why she did not give me that option earlier, why argue with me rather than refer me to the right place? She rolled her eyes and waved me away. I reminded her rolling eyes does not help anyone, it isn't helping me or her. She repeated the behavior so I took the 617 number she wrote & headed toward the exit. The window next to me just opened up so I asked the tall, heavyset woman if she was her superior... she remained stoic on the counter, looking right through me, not even bothering to nod. I said, "Well I just want you to know her rolling her eyes repeatedly isn't helping anyone or diffusing anything." She shook her head at me without saying a word. I walked over to the original employee helping me to let her know I appreciated her taking the time to look into it for me and thank her for doing a good job at providing customer service then left. I am sadly, reluctantly forced to open a box at the UPS store down the street. read more

Very convenient! Theres not much I can say about a Post Office, but its nice to have one right here especially if you work in the center somewhere. UPDATE***** Last friday I was accused of being a blood sucking vampire. The woman in line behind me was screaming "What are you doing! you are facing the wrong way! this is against protocol! This location is very convenient. It's also huge. It has one of those machines where you can weigh the package and purchase the postage without having to wait in line. I love the selection of fun padded envelopes and different sized boxes. read more

Condescending, entitled old white hag with glasses is the rudest employee there. She answered my questions like I was stupid instead of politely just doing her job and helping me. I didn't want to cause a scene because there was a line behind me but she pissed me off so bad. I've worked customer service for 11 years and it doesn't matter how old you are, please don't speak down to people like that. The issue that I TRIED to get help with was done easily before by other employees at this location so I'm not sure why she gave me attitude about it that day. And it was just to check in the back for any incoming packages that may have arrived at the post office that didn't fit in my mail box. Like seriously lol read more

Wouldn't normally leave a review for a post office, but it was simply great service. Took passport photos, which was quick and easy, and they came out better than the ones from CVS. I mailed them normal mail, then realized that wasn't quick enough. So I came back with the hope that I could somehow find my letter and mail it overnight. And it was a success! Laverne made the process so easy and she was so nice, would love to come back again. read more

I go here 2-3x a week for work. If I am just picking up the mail, 5 stars. If i need to mail a package, 3 stars. It takes FOREVER to get to the counter. I've waited in line up to 45 minutes before. My boss even expects that when I go here to mail something, I will be out of the office for an hour. Everyone who works here is nice. Some more than others. I just wished they were more staffed in the afternoons. Waiting sucks. And I can't use the automated machine because I have complicated shipments most of the time. read more

A beautiful African American woman works here and she is just such a ray of sunshine that I now bring my packages from my home in providence with me when I come to work in Boston, just so I can go to this post office because of her. read more

Went to drop off a prepaid package with the intent of buying a new roll of packing tape at the store, as I'm mailing packages on a regular basis, and I also needed to use it on the box I was shipping. Glancing around the relatively large store I noticed that the walls/shelving were mostly bare and lacking in any packing essentials. I go up to the counter where a young (Asian?) employee is sitting eating her breakfast (unprofessional and tacky, and it was 11am). I ask if they sold any packing tape and she responds, "next time bring your own." I love it when employees find any opportunity to school customers, especially when we ask a simple question about a product we want to purchase, and they respond with a completely irrelevent answer. Somebody needs a lesson in effective listening skills. She puts her food down that she'd been eating with her hands and proceeds to tape up my box. I usually go the USPS store in my neighborhood, which is about five times smaller than this Prudential location, and it's well stocked with every packing product needed for shipping. This Pru location is a waste of a large, prime spot. Stock up on supplies, ffs, and learn some customer service skills while you're at it. read more

Wow, really excellent customer service. The woman who helped me (middle aged African American woman) was so nice and courteous. I actually wish the transaction could've gone on longer. Very clean and big USPS. Have a self service stamp machine that can be accessed even when they are closed. Also have plenty of last minutes birthday/holiday/celebration cards if you need them. Would highly recommend over FedEx or UPS. read more

After a double knee replacement, I wasn't sure how I was ever going to walk. I've been to PT before but nothing like this -- POST's method is hands-on and it has helped me reach levels of flexion and extension in my knees that were unexpected by my doctor and by me. My life has been changed. I am motivated to climb stairs and go to the gym (and one of my knees is only 8 weeks "old"). Five very worthy stars. I wish I could give it more. read more
