Super impressed by this UPS store at how quickly everything was done! Literally 5 minutes in the store. First time at this place, got here a little after noon on Saturday, the line wasn't too long just 2 people in front. While in line, I barely got finished taking some photos of the inside of the store and it was my turn already. Good thing I had my package box already packed and taped up and my shipping label print out. The lady at the counter was very helpful- she put the label in a plastic sleeve and taped it on the box. And that was that!! In and out of the store in minutes!! So fast! Awesome! Very efficient service! I like these they have a display of all their boxes all nested in and showing the sizes so you can clearly see how big each box is, which can be hard sometimes when they're folded flat. Since this was a work related package, the cost was already pre-paid so all very easy and taken care of. Great experience! read more

There are ups and downs in life, and this shop is specifically designed to celebrate the ups, hence the name... THE UPS STORE. UPS stores are definitely overpriced, and this one is useful if nothing else, serving a lot of college kids and giving them your typical overpriced services. But in this part part of Boston, it can actually be useful to just (over)pay someone a little bit too much to take care of these kinds of tasks, because it's not exactly a city where you can easily find a lot of time to get everything done, or find any good deals in this part of town at least, so I appreciate that it's here. read more

This is the dumbest UPS store. To begin please don't assign me a gender and call me ms. That maybe nice to someone but it's Boston and it's 2022. Additionally, I've Ups For many things and it's'be never had someone say they can't print. That's literally what y'all advertise. You should be able to print a label at the ups without requiring you to access a public computer with your personal email. That's not safe, not smart, and not customer first. There is an employee whose presence will decide whether you have a good experience at this place or not. He is unfortunately there more often than not. Every other employee here is very helpful like every other UPS store I have gone to. I won't give this employees name and will refer to him in the rest of this review as "Sour patch" but I will describe how he treats you and his fellow employees and you'll be able to pick him out immediately. 1) Sour patch will be behind the register looking very upset to be there and on his phone watching some video 2) Sour patch will be telling you or someone else he works for who is trying to be helpful to a customer "no". 3) Sour patch will be reading some policy of UPS in such a way that makes you think that UPS is unable to ship any package. Have you been able to do this thing at literally every other store? Well not at this one. Our first interaction was when my fiancé was attempting to return some boots. She was provided with a "happy returns" label which is part of UPS to return her boots and it provided instructions to simply bring the shoebox back to the store and show the UPS employee the return label and they will take it from there as UPS has previous experience shipping things. When we got to the store we asked Sour patch what the store email was so we could send the return label to him for shipment and pay for the label. He said they don't do that. Not one UPS store in existence "doesn't do that". Sour patch directed us to pay to use the internet to print a label but the machine was down and the printer wasn't working. We told him it was broken but he was busy ruining someone else's life so he wasn't able to make us miserable as well so the other employee immediately jumped in to help and printed us out the label. Sour patch immediately reprimanded him for helping us and tried to take the label away but the petulant child was unsuccessful as he's even incompetent at doing that. We the gave him the shoe box with the label and Sour patch then recited from memory some clause of UPS procedure and said that UPS was mistaken in providing a label to her and she's not allowed to ship it. The employee behind him who helped us with the label was suggesting ways to assist her as he was familiar process and Sour patch reprimanded him for helping us in front of us. Then Sour patch turned around and said no. Then we asked for alternate ways to return this and how to handle it and Sour patch suggested we purchase a new shipment from him instead and pay to box it. We left. Our second interaction was attempting to ship out a box from eBay and we had to use their broken computer and printer to print a label which of course didn't work. Then we realized we could do this on our phone. So I brought the box over to Sour Patch who was watching a video on 5 ways to be miserable and I asked what the weight of my box was and his response was "why?". I explained that my life's journey has lead to the transom of his store whence I doth desired to shipeth my box to distant lands and I humbly requested to know how many stones my box doth weigh. He said as he is known to do "no". The employee behind him said "oh it weighs 4 pounds" and then Sour Patch reprimanded him again in front of us for providing the type of customer service UPS stores are known for. I then entered 4 pounds into the app and got a QR code which I presented to Sour patch. I however did not have my box taped. Sour patch informed me that it would cost $2 to place 1 piece of tape on the lid of the box or I could buy 6 miles of tape from him instead. We left. read more

I've had two very unpleasant experiences with employees, at this UPS location. By the way, to print self service, UPS applies a $20.00 hold on your bank/credit card. Be sure you log out completely or you're card will get used and charged by the next person. The person before me didn't log out, and I caught him before he left. It is very unsafe. There is only one civil and professional employee working at this location; the others are rude, disrespectful, and extremely condescending. They will completely ignore you or berate you if you have a question about their self service printing. I'm beginning to believe especially after reading some of the comments here and other places about this location, some employees there, have a problem with certain people. It's a filthy, ugly, cramped hole in the wall on Huntington Avenue that services the student community. I only wish my returns all offered Fedex, they are easy, convenient, and professional. I stopped by the UPS store, located at 263 Huntington Ave, Boston MA 02115, to drop off a package with a prepaid label. I was told that it would be $2 to attach the label to package to cover the cost of packaging tape. I thought it was a bad joke but the employee was serious. I still want to think that it must have been a bad joke. If it is not a joke, but it is rather a business practice, it is worse than the joke. read more

Cesar and other person helped me with my package were great. I didn't catch the females name that was helping, but both were in great spirits, smiling, and able to multi task while others were walking in (nice to experience on such a rainy cold day). I was sending something abroad so they suggested I take it out of the box and just use the packaging for DHL- saved me $17! They obviously use UPS , but good to know they also provide DHL services. Also overheard someone getting passport photos which is helpful. If you're hungry on the way out Five Guys is right next door! I was lucky and got dropped off but did notice metered parking on the street and not to mention one person had a nasty ticket on their window -be aware of the cops! Cesar was the worst. I showed up to print something and get it notarized after. I was ready 8 minutes before my notary appointment and he refused to do it until the appointment start time, saying we needed to "honor the appointment time". When that time came though, he left the facility to go get food and I was stuck waiting longer!!! So much for "honoring" the appointment time....what a horrible experience. Will never be returning. Staff was courteous, prices were fair, and shipment was packed great. I used to live in Boston, so I know the area quite well. When I came back on vacation, I did a bunch of shopping and bought 4 picture inexpensive pictures (framed) to put in my office back in Austin. Total weight was about 15 lbs. First I called the UPS Store in the South End, and was quoted about $130 for packing and shipping. They made it sound like a big deal, and I was unimpressed with their lack of professionalism. So I called this UPS Store on Huntington Ave near Symphony. Spoke to Jason, who gave an estimate of around $50-80 depending on the box size and amount of packing foamies used. At the UPS Store, they gave me two options. 1) wrapping each picture frame in bubble wrap and using a large box with a ton of foamies to ensure the pictures & frames arrive undamaged, and would cost $80+, or 2) keep the frames together (unseparated), and wrap them together using bubble wrap. I explained these pictures were not that valuable, and I wanted to save on cost. So they wrapped them together tightly around a layer of bubble wrap on all sides and they fit in their "smaller" box. Total cost was $52 which included packing & materials (about $25), UPS ground (about $22) and tax. The package and contents arrived undamaged at my office in Austin and I was happy. I was satisfied with the service, felt I was treated honestly and fairly, and will use them again on my next shopping trip to Boston. read more

I came to this UPS location to drop a package off, and there was a man exiting the store who I didn't realize at the time was actually the store clerk. He saw me at the door holding a big package. I couldn't enter the store as the door was locked, and there was a scribbled sign saying, "back in 20 mins". I had my husband and baby waiting in the car, so it was a very frustrating thing to see. 20 minutes later I see the store clerk exiting the "5 Guys" burger place. He unlocked the door and acted like nothing was wrong with what had just happened. read more

Yep. I worked here for three seconds a couple years ago when it first opened. Robin, the owner, is a really great guy. I've always felt bad because I didn't get to give him much notice when I left. I was having some health issues and had to leave Boston for a few months. He was working all the time and there were only two additional workers (including myself). He was also playing in an orchestra at the BSO or something, so he was dang busy. Yep, things can be on the expensive side, but you pay for convenience (although there's a USPS by the Christian Science Church). There are a variety of services at this location. Printing, passports, public notary, shipping, mailing, faxing, stamps, etc. He also carried greeting cards by a local artist at one point which I thought was awesome. Along with several hours of online training, I learned how to pack things. So I'm pretty awesome at that. I mailed a mug to myself and it didn't break! Side note: The peanuts dispenser is probably one of the funnest things in life (sadly). Shout out to the guys at Rayburn who sent us chocolates when I worked there. Musicians kept walking in because of the Rayburn move earlier that year. hah And to the guy who had dysfunction in his.. yeah. I had the biggest crush on him when he stopped in previously, but when he had me fax those documents.. well... le sigh. PS - This is NOT the hotel location. read more

I have a box here, when I was picking which store to use I sent emails to about 10 around Boston, I compared prices, but also the fact that the owner here wrote back put them over the top. The owner is actively involved in managing the store, and it shows. All the employees are courteous and competent, and as another reviewer mentioned, they actually take pride in their work and care about customer service which is rare to see these days. Last week I rushed into the store to see if I could get my friend's medicine shipped ASAP to Jamaica. Jerome was very helpful. His senior counterpart was awesome too. He was very thoughtful and explained that I should not ship more than a 30 day supply if possible because customs would be paying close attention to the quantity. They work well as a team. Several more customers came in while I was being helped and the senior staff member was able to expedite everyone quickly. I will definitely come back because of their service! read more

RUDE.. used to come here to ship boxes every now and then and had great management previously. Last time I went there, they refused to tape an open box that was ready to be sent out. Asked me to pay $5 for a new tape and do it myself. FedEx on Boylston was more than happy to help me tape my open box without requiring me to pay $5. When I told her that I used to get my boxes taped here, she quite simply replied "They were not supposed to". Well I guess I was not supposed to stop there anymore. So long rude service. read more

This place is THE worst-- avoid it if you can! I went here to try to ship several packages, and when I arrived, the guy working was on the phone talking to a customer. I didn't mind waiting briefly, but he didn't even acknowledge I was in the store, nor did he apologize when he hung up the phone 15 minutes later and I was still waiting (blamed it on the customer on the phone). Having waited that long, I was about to be late for class, so I told him I had to go. He told me that he would keep my packages, ring them up and give me a call to get my payment information. Silly me, I actually believed him. Almost 24 hours later, I receive a phone call from UPS saying that my packages were still sitting in the store. I quickly went to the store in person, and there was the worker again. He blamed me for not calling in, when he told *me* he would call. To make a great story even better, he proceeded to tell me that my packages would cost a total of $70-something to ship. When I was understandably shocked at the cost (the same packages would have cost about $30 less to ship via USPS), he told me there was nothing that could be done-- he had already rung up the shipping labels. That was the day that I learned there is a fabulous USPS store right around the corner on Mass Ave. I'm now a regular there. GO THERE, people. You'll save yourself frustration, time, and a lot of money. read more

every year when i go back home to cali i have to send at least 3 or 4 boxes back of my crap from the year out here in boston. The service is not good. When I was at a fedex store recently, they put the label on for me and added a piece of tape to my box. But at this store I was charged $2 for one piece of tape, and he wouldn't put the label on for me. I was the only person in the store, so it wasn't like he was too busy to help. I wasn't sure where to put the label and wasn't sure how the pouch for the label worked. I haven't mailed something at ups in years. I felt like he was acting like I was some dumb, young girl who couldn't figure out the most basic thing. "It's a pouch" he said in a condescending way.
