I was up in the area visiting family and I stopped by a shop nearby and bought a couple of vintage plates to ship back home. The person at the desk was very helpful and I requested packing services, etc. When I received the package back home, everything was wrapped so so well and all of the plates came back intact and with no scratches/marks/anything. I am very thankful at the care the person did in wrapping the items and overall it was a very good experience at the store. read more

They have lost all my items, offered no support, and very poor attitudes! Nobody took any responsibility, and they have wasted my time, money, and all my items. I had two large boxes that were in need of repacking and scraped my hand getting them through the front door. The staff member took me in the back, washed and bandaged the wound without batting an eye. She said people often get paper cuts etc. I pointed to the boxes and said they needed some better tape. She said she had seen that and would take care of it. Then she very carefully explained the shipping options and found the cheapest appropriate rate. I can't imagine better service. read more

Don't ship through the UPS store directly. Open your own account online, print out the label, and then drop it off at the UPS store. The retail stores are franchised and will charge you more to ship your packages. I found the staff here friendly but not very knowledgeable about what you can and can't do online. The guy basically told me that I couldn't open a personal account and that the only way an individual could ship a package was through the UPS store. read more

I've never had an issue with this store. It's very close and convenient to where I live so it's perfect for dropping off packages. As long as you know what you need/want you are in and out in a matter of minutes. Unfortunately I've noticed that customers can be fairly rude to the employees when they are just trying to help/ explain other shipping or purchasing options which is sad for the area. They charged my credit card $5.50 to print 4 black and white pages. I mean I understand it there is a surcharge going to UPS but seriously 5.50 for only four pages is kind of ridiculous. That is over a dollar per page and just seems a bit outrageous since it probably didnt cost them less $1 to for this. Ugghh. read more

I have mixed feelings about the UPS store. The only reason I have a box there is because I can't receive packages at my apartment. I suppose part of my hesitation to give them more than three stars is because when I first moved to the area, I went in asking for a box for package delivery only. The guy behind the counter charged me $350, which I thought was excessive, but paid because I needed somewhere to receive packages. Unfortunately, once you pay, they won't reimburse you, and as I found out later, he had signed me up for package pickup AND mail services. On the plus side, I haven't seen him in there since. Every other time I've been in there, the service has been great. I often get extremely large and bulky packages shipped and the staff is always willing to let me hold them there in case I want to find help carrying them. The last time I renewed my services, I changed to a $99/year package pickup only service, which is MUCH better than my previous service. Mailing through their center is also very expensive, so watch out for added fees. I'd rather not pay the money to have a box here, but there's not much I can do since I don't have another alternative. However, I've always been pleased with the staff. They're excellent! read more

The guy who is called KJ or sth like that does not have any communication skills , and the girl who is working there is the rudest person on earth. There is no consistency in their service, be day they charge you for sth , the other day they change their mind and call you names in front of other customers . UPS Store on Charles St... If I could give this store LESS than one star, I would! I went in on a Saturday afternoon to obtain information on costs to ship a package overseas. The woman/beast who worked there was rude, unprofessional and obnoxious to deal with. I think her name is Jen or Jessica. I have not met such a nasty retail rep. in a long time. I will NEVER do business with this store again and have reported her poor service to another UPS store in Boston who knew of her and concurred. UPS needs to either re-train, re-calibrate her or better yet, FIRE HER!! Miserable attitude. Do not use their printing services, it's a trap: slow internet, crappy printing software, poor customer service. All designed to slow down the process and charge you more. I had a great experience at this store. They packed china, 3 large boxes. Reggie, the store manager, was very helpful. Since I was sending it to family in the Service living in Germany, it was more reasonable to mail through the US Post Office. So after the china was carefully packed I carried it across the street to the post office. My appreciation goes out to Stephanie who was responsible for carefully wrapping the china. I've used the UPS Store on Charles Street many times and the staff there is always friendly and helpful, even if I'm just dropping off a pre-paid, pre-labeled package. But, today, I'm writing a review because the staffer on duty today (sorry, I didn't catch your name!) solved a packaging problem for me with ease. I needed to ship a big art textbook that was too heavy for an envelope but not large enough to fill a box without lots of extra padding (extra weight + awkward size = more $$ to ship). I normally don't leave reviews unless I am impressed with exceptional service, and the UPS store on Charles St. has been extraordinary in that respect. Living in California, but having recently bought a condo in Boston very close to this store, I contacted them to sign up for a mailbox. From the very first interactions with the staff, they were extremely kind, professional, responsive and efficient, both via phone and email. They helped me set up my account remotely, even going the extra mile to work past the end of her shift to set up my mailbox before my deadline. Our email communication throughout this process was always courteous and unbelievably fast. Then, I notified them of a very large delivery in my name, dozens of packages, and some of them large and heavy, as I am in the process of setting up an apartment there - in one week. They kindly offered to take care of all those packages for me until I could pick them up the next day. I really felt like they have got my back as a customer. Overall, I appreciated the personal service at this store and throughout this process they made me feel like a VIP customer.
