This place has a new name now - they are Global Pack Ship. I went there the other day because they ship Fed Ex and I needed to Fed Ex my Visa applications for India. The whole process was really easy when I got there. I showed them my printed label and they gave me an envelope, told me what to fill out, and then viola done. I didn't have to pay anything there. And right when I left the Fed Ex guy came in to pick it up! No time wasted. The owners of the store are from India so they were excited to see I was going there (maybe that's why they were extra nice to me). They were honest, quick, and polite and never tried to scam me for anything. read more

Their notary fees are not posted and then after you are done, you find out they are predatorily high. $10 for a sign and stamp! And they failed at that since he did not date the form as a notary!! High enough fees to grumble but not challenge and then found it was all for naught since he didn't even fill it out correctly. Don't make my mistake and just avoid the shop altogther. Run away, fast. If you make an appointment with UPS down the street they are $1.25 per signature in comparison. read more

I just accepted a remote job and was asked to get a Form I-9 filled out and notarized. I thought this would be an easy task but it turned into a complete pain. May notaries will not stamp I-9 for some lame reason (AAA, TD Bank, etc.). Mr. Punjabi took care of it and now I can go back to worrying about more important things. I had to return an artist-designed music stand to the artist because I'm leaving the country. It's a delicate piece and I had to get it to Connecticut in perfect shape, so I went over to Global Pack and Ship. Mr. Punjabi promised he would take good care of it, and that it would arrive the next day, which was yesterday. The artist emailed this morning to say he had never seen a better packing job. Through the years I have used a number of companies to pickup, pack, and transports art objects purchased from auction houses around the country. The experience with this company (now known as Global Pack Ship) is the worst. In the spring of 2010 I asked this company to perform these services with two especially fine antique porcelain pieces purchased from Skinner Auction House in Boston. The initial contact was pleasant, and the shipping company was eager to insure for replacement value. When the shipment arrived a large urn which had been purchased from a museum collection was packed in the same box with a very heavy basalt bust using only peanuts and minimal bubble wrap to separate them. The very fine urn was damaged by the weight of the urn. This was terribly distressing as we had searched for many years for this particular piece, and were delighted when it was being offered at auction by the museum. The night mare started when I contacted Mr. Punjabi at Mail Boxes Etc to tell him of the damage. Soon the insurance company was involved, and ultimately they accused me of shipping a broken object to myself and attempting to commit insurance fraud. The phone conversations were unprofessional and insulting, and the insurance adjusted shouted accusations ultimately forcing me terminate the phone call. This required involving my personal insurance company to resolve the issue. More than one year later I received a payment that offset the cost of the appraisal they required, and the cost of repairing the object. They refused to compensate for the loss of value to a previously perfect museum-quality collectable which is now nothing more than an attractive shelf piece. OK - THE BIGGEST SHAM EVER!!!! DO NOT USE THEM FOR AT LEAST SHIPPING VIA FEDEX!!!!! DID YOU KNOW THEY CHARGE YOU ALMOST 85% MARK UP OVER FEDEX RATE?? On 09/12/12, around 1:30pm, I needed to send 7 pages of A4 letter to New York from Boston. I was walking back towards my work and I noticed the Fedex sign, so I went into the store, filled out the paperwork to send it Priority Overnight and the guy said, it will be $48 to send it overnight. I didn't think much and gave them my credit card. On my walk back to office, I thought about it and it seemed a little high. So I checked it 10 minutes later on FedEx website and they only charge $26 for the same package!! So I first thought, he might have just charged me by mistake, so I called the store up. The guy said that is their STORE price - that is the price for the Global Pack Ship and it is in their computers - it is whatever it is!!!! SO THEY CHARGED ME $48 FOR SOMETHING WHICH IS WORTH $26 - 85% PREMIUM - SERIOUSLY!!!! THAT IS JUST PLAIN HIGHWAY ROBBERY WHEN THERE ARE FEDEX OFFICES EVERY CORNER IN DOWNTOWN!!!! I have no idea about their other services, but I AM NOT STEPPING INTO THAT STORE EVER AGAIN AND WILL TELL EVERYONE I KNOW NOT TO!!! read more

I, too, purchased an art object of considerable artistic and historical value from Skinner. I contacted four (4) arts and antiques shippers in the Boston area for estimates to have the object sent to me in San Diego. By far and away, Global Pack Ship (GPS) was the most reasonable. I authorized the transaction (pick-up, packaging and shipping to me). And the packaged arrived via FedEx Ground with no mishaps, no damage, no problems! Tony, the owner-operator, was most cordial and professional during our dealings. He answered all my questions and assured me that my art piece would arrive intact. And that it did. I am sorry for what happened to the previous reviewer but he should have been more specific with his packing needs. I was very explicit with my packing requirements. And it is clear from my experience that GPS met -- and even exceeded -- them all. I am very pleased with the service I received from GPS. Beware of this shipper. They do a serviceable job, but charge exorbitantly, so shop around carefully. I foolishly did not ask their charges and ended up paying $1,000 to ship 6 ordinary chairs 2 1/2 hours from Skinner to northwest Connecticut. I could have had a car and driver pick these up for me for $300. I called to discuss with them and was met with total disinterest. Best to avoid them and select a different Skinner-related shipper. read more

Mr Punjabi was helpful and had the most reasonable of many price quotes so I decided to use his services, I am very picky about my packaging and was very worried that the piece might arrive with broken fingers or neck cracks but was very happy with the care that went into packing her and making sure the she arrived safely. I dropped on a package on Thursday because Global Pack Ship was closer than my local USPS office. I asked them if it was ok to drop off a pre-paid labeled package (very basic and simple) and they said yes. I couldn't track my package for days after because it took them 6 days to get it to USPS! I should've taken the extra time to drop if off at the post office myself if I had known they took so long to ship. Very disappointed and will not be going there again. read more

It was, just that, working with Mr. Tony Punjabi at Global Pack Ship in tending to the (very efficient and gentle) packing and then transport of items we bought at Skinner Auctions there in Boston. Often, we've noticed, the necessary task of shipping items purchased in a distant city can let out a lot of the joy that comes with winning bids on new, exciting treasures. It's usually a hassle having to deal with brusque and not-too-interested dudes at the desks of shipping providers. But Mr. Punjabi made everything so easy and gave us complete confidence that all would be well. And indeed it was with every piece arriving in a timely manner, safe and sound, beautifully packed.
