I've learned to avoid going there first thing in the morning and late in the afternoon. That's when most people decide to do business there. Early afternoon between 1 and 3pm is usually a good time with the exception of holidays when all bets are off! I've been going into this location for more than 10 years and I have never seen all the "registers" open. At most two or three are there with even the longest of lines literally going down the hallway where the post office boxes are. The service is usually cordial with a few exceptions. Vince is always friendly and has something nice to say or even engage in a little humor back and forth. There is a guy there with dread locks and glasses that should stay in the back sorting out mail. He is humorless and appears to hate his job. He needs to either go back to training Customer Service 101 or get a job not customer interactive. Other than that the ladies there are usually smiling and helpful. read more

Well today is 1-13-18 and my informed delivery shows two checks and one gas bill that was supposed to be in my mailbox and to my surprise they are not there. This has been happening quite a bit but my first time posting about it I had spoken to Pam at the post office who is the supervisor and she tells me it should be in the next days mail well today is Saturday and that's Sunday until Monday late around 3 when I will receive my checks and my bill. Horrid. Especially with covid in play. I live in NJ now after moving in december. Had a package delivered to prior house that got turned into post office to hold for me. I actually enjoy going to the Simi Valley post office on Simi Village Drive. Dave is kind, friendly and funny. He answers my questions with a smile and helps in any way he can. I have had great experiences with every employee that I have met at this post office. Excellent service. read more

What an absolutely HORRIBLE example of a US Post Office! My certified mail envelope fails to show up on time ... Then, the online system can't produce a status ... Then, after a week (including the weekend) of it being overdue, I file a complaint with Customer Service ... I am, then, supposed to be contacted by THIS Post Office with a resolution within 2-3 days ... On the FOURTH day, I contacted USPS "Customer Service" and learn the Mt. McCoy Post Office has done NOTHING to date ... BUT, I learn that the parcel was, indeed, BOTH shipped to and received by the Mt. McCoy Post Office ... I do some digging and wind up with a USPS District Manager out of Santa Clarita, CA that provides me with a direct line to this Mt. McCoy Post Office ... Upon review, though, the Mt. McCoy Post Office comes back and claims it was never received by THEM ... The Mt. McCoy Post Office, then, blames the "plant" in Galena, CA ... I call pretty-much anyone and everyone at the USPS trying to get assistance ... I wind up back at the USPS District Manager, who put me in touch with an (apparent) Assistant Postmaster at the Mt. McCoy Post Office ... This individual CONFIRMS for me that the basket/tub containing my parcel was, indeed, received by the Mt. McCoy Post Office ... So, now, we know that we know the parcel WAS received by this post office, but ... The same Mt. McCoy Post Office refuses to accept responsibility, and they blame everyone else ... They blame the plant in Galena, CA. They blame a back up processing location in Santa Clarita, CA. They, actually, indirectly blamed ME for having selected this size of parcel container which is provided by the USPS! If that wasn't bad enough, they don't open until 10:00 AM CST ... They don't answer their phones for the first couple hours of having opened ... The Postmaster (in my case) didn't even show up for work until AFTER noon ... And, in his absence, the TWO (2) Assistant Postmasters seem to be absolutely clueless ... My incident reeks of employee theft, but absolutely no USPS employee is stepping forward, while I get to start this entire process over, again -- and with NO recourse, NO assistance, NO nothing. Irresponsibility. Dishonesty. Inefficiency. It's your money, and it's your time, but -- I am strongly encouraging you to consider this situation the next time you even think about using the USPS, because -- Based upon my experience, this operation is a genuine sh** show! read more

Very dis-satisfied with the service hours for this store. I wish that they were open at least at 8:30am and could stay open until 6:30pm. The current hours are very inconvenient for people trying to do business because most of us are already at work by the time they open and don't get off work until they're already closed. Don't ever work as a CCA here. The supervisors will harass and treat you like dog shit. They will call you 8 times on a route and say your slow. They also make up false write ups. They won't issue you a postal bag and try to write you up for it. They give you unreal times to finish a route. Watch out for a supervisor named Teresa. This person will make your life hell on the job. Do your business at the other post office. I didn't even mention the amount of times the vehicles break down. There is no horse sense of maintenance on any of their trucks or staff vehicles. I repeat don't ever work there!!! Not worth half the pay as a normal carrier and no benefits. read more

If I could provide "0" stars I would, this post office has the worst customer service. We have had numerous issues with our postman and have complained to the Postmaster Brittany numerous times. Our postman refuses to delivery packages to our office. We have two dogs in our office and I understand he has issues with dogs in the past, so I can appreciate his reservations coming in to our office. Our dogs however are more frightened of him than the reverse. As I wanted to be sympathetic to his feelings, I asked if he could simply knock on our door and leave the package by the front door. He and the Brittany refused. I asked if he could leave our packages with our neighboring company. He and the Brittany refused. After multiple conversations with Brittany, we agreed that I would install a restricted fence in our reception area so that our dogs would not be able to come into the reception area. We installed the fence, at our cost, and then Brittany had to come to our office and inspect it. She did and she approved. So we expected to start receiving our packages again...to no avail. Our lazy postman still refused to deliver our packages, who the heck is in charge over there, the inmates are running the asylum. So their solution was to install an new high-end, expensive mail box, at the tax payer expense. Lucky us. So now this new mailbox works for medium size packages. Unfortunately when we get larger package "Mr. It's Not My Job" again refuses to do his job and deliver our mail. Instead I have to take time out of my day to drive to the post office to get my mail. If the mailman doesn't deliver the mail...what's the point of having him. The only salvation is knowing that mail delivery will eventually be eliminated in the next decade and my postman will have the same fate as the gas station attendant and the VCR. If there is any way possible to avoid this post office, do so. read more

Trying to pick up my grandma's mail for her due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She is in her 80s. She lived in Simi Valley all of her life but now lives in Santa Clarita so she maintains a PO Box at this Postal Service location. Every time I go into this location I always get stuck dealing with the same woman. My grandma has added me to her PO Box multiple times yet they never seem to have record of it. I went last week to get her mail and there's a slip inside saying that because she had not picked it up it was too full and I had to take the card to the front desk to get the remaining mail. I took the car to the front desk and the woman refuse to give me my grandma's mail because I'm not on her PO Box. She said that I had to get something in writing from my grandma add me to your PO Box and bring two forms of ID. Explain to her that my grandma lives in a different county but she was less than sympathetic. I understand there are rules that need to be followed so I coordinated with my grandma to get the information requested. And then went in today with my grandma's key the letter my US passport and my drivers license. She again told me that I could not pick up my grandma's mail because my two forms of identification were not acceptable. Seriously, what the heck?! These are both Government Issued and I had the letter from my grandma and my grandmas key! Then instead of being helpful she decided to lecture me on the fact that there was too much mail in the mailbox and if I would have been picking it up on a weekly normal basis it wouldn't have gotten to this point. I reminded her that we are in the middle of a pandemic in that my grandma has been unable to pick up her mail and that it has been a difficult task getting me added to her PO Box. She kindly reminded me that this is not her problem. RUDE!!!! read more

I have a post office box, that I would gladly close if this wasn't the closest box office to my work and home. They were extremely rude when it came to setting up my account. There had been a change on their website that they may not have been aware of but no less than 4 of their employees argued with me regarding paperwork that should have been pre printed. I would definently give this place a 0 star rating just for how bad this is. And I'm a nice person so this is hard (not really) thing to do. There is one blonde lady there that always causes drama. My mon walked into the post office just trying to delirver a box that would take almost 3 minutes. NOPE! She yelled at my mom saying they were closed. I would understand this but there was a lady in front of her with no problem delivering mail and no closed signs. So my mom went over to the kiosk and tried to deliver it that way but the blonde lady kept panicking saying "Where'd she go? Where is she?!" Guess she was really trying to start drama now. My mom answered saying "I'm right here! Don't worry I'm not gonna break in!!" Then the lady finally calmed down. This isn't the first time this lady has started drama. There's other times I have been there with people she was yelling at. She's not the only one though other people at that post office are. Another time we couldn't even get our mail because the employees there were too ignorant to change our address to our new house. These people are horrible. I DONT recommend going there. Never been treated so poorly by USPS staff this location needs a whole new staff. I'm new to the area so this was my first time at this location. I had my package already to go with the label printed. All I needed was a couple pieces of tape because I needed to close off my package so I could send it out. After waiting in line for 15 minutes I got to the front and explained my situation and asked if I could use some tape after I had seen all of the staff help other people with their packages and close them up for them no problem. When I got to the front and asked for a piece of tape and explained that I didn't need any other help the man at the front (should have gotten his name, just some old guy who likely has an issue with young women) looked at me and said "we dont provide tape". I explained if I had my wallet I would have just bought some but I drove all the way out there thinking I could have just dropped it off and been on my way, but he was adamant that he would not lend me the tape he had used to close other peoples packages. I'm not one to argue or cause problems (or leave bad reviews for that matter). But this guy looked at me and told me to go home, get my wallet, buy tape, and come back. Obviously these employees are not being paid based on hospitality, my previous post office would never be so utterly rude to a customer. I did as I was told and went back to the office to ship it out, so I asked the lady next to him ( the man would not look at me) why he was helping others and closing their packages with no issue and why they had me leave the office, drive all the way home, to the store, and back. I can understand they can't provide tape for every single package that is sent out, but they said something about my package not being "priority mail" so they couldn't help me. She was extremely passive aggressive when speaking to me and I could see the conversation was going no where so I left. If there was something wrong with my package that he couldn't lend me a few small pieces of tape when I watched him help others, he should have said so. Not just tell me they don't provide tape when they obviously do. I was obviously just trying to get in and out of there, and didn't expect to be treated so rudely. If you go to this location, don't expect to be treated as a customer with hospitality, make sure you're there to take care of yourself and don't expect to get any help. After reading countless other reviews about the unkind staff at this location I can confirm that these staff are simply there for their check and don't want to help us, paying customers. Ok, so a Post Office is a Post Office. Go at the wrong time (i.e. Lunch) and you'll be stuck in line for awhile. Knowing this, I went in the morning. I had issues mailing a package the last time I was there, but Rick was such a help and told me to bring it back if it gets returned and I won't be charged to re-send it. I've been coming here three times a day for the past year and a half, picking up and delivering mail for a major corporation. The people here, both in the back and up at the front counter, are so friendly that I actually look forward to my visits. The facility is clean and the postal workers are knowledgeable, efficient, hard working, and fun to deal with. I highly recommend this USPS station. read more

The location was easy to find and parking was a breeze. The USPS have expanded their hours of operation until 3:00 PM on Saturday (previously they closed two hours earlier on this day). I stopped in around 2:00 and had left the facility by 2:35. Based on this experience you might want to plan accordingly if you have limited time. The clerk was helpful with advising me that my letters did not have sufficient postage. Apparently, although they were standard envelopes, there were too many papers inside to be sent with only 1 'Forever' stamp. Must have been the weight, there seems to be a low limit, measured in grams. The clerk seemed uncertain about a proof of mailing slip I inquired about, but eventually we came to a joint conclusion on what was (likely) the most appropriate function of this document. It did take a while to get there. The clerk might have been taking prescription drugs. Personally, I am glad the government is reaching out to individuals such as this, because they are at a disadvantage in society and deserve support and assistance from us all to ensure a better future. I was surprised when he did not notice that I had checked the box for "Hard Copy" on the "extra services" field of my "Certified Mail" label. When I pointed this out, he told me not to worry "that you would be able to check on-line for confirmation of delivery". Excuse me--that is not what the field box states, it states, if checked, that I am to receive a "hard copy" of the proof of delivery--as opposed to an *online notifier* option. I NEED an ACTUAL receipt as proof of delivery for this item, to be mailed to me once delivery is successful. USPS erases records after a while and screencaps are not permissible with this company I am dealing with. For my money, I would like to be taken seriously, otherwise I will go to UPS or DHL. And this guy doesn't even notice the service I am requesting right there on the form?! If I had not questioned this by closely following this intern's actions, my literal subscribing to this service would have been ignored and going on down the road, I would *never* have received the notification in a physical form, which I greatly needed for legal reasons. Hopefully a few people who ship high volume and require a high degree of competence 24/7, will relate to my struggle here. Here's what tipped me off to the oversight: I am a sensible person by nature. I am AWARE that such a service (hard copy delivery notification) should cost extra. When I was not charged for the service (it appeared as 0.00 on the stamped/dated label receipt handed to me) I was surprised that the requested service would actually be free, and so inquired further. The postal clerk apparently had not noticed that I had checked this box at all, and he spent the next five minutes sweating over how to erase (to presumably start over) this transaction and add the appropriate charge. At this point I am mildly inconvenienced, as are others behind me in a forming line, since it will soon be closing time and there are only two clerks in attendance. Clerk 1 (helping me) waited until clerk 2 (supposedly more seniority) was finished with a customer before inquiring as to how to add the service needed. Clerk 2 was immediately responsive and showed him an additional form I would need to fill out. But this form was for a signature confirmation, and I only needed proof of delivery in physical form. The "signature" service was a separate service that was in a check box several lines below the service I checked. Neither rep could seem to explain this inconsistency, nor did they bother. At this point I was being shooed along, so I did my best to expedite things and get the heck out. So to those who need Certified Mail (a fancy word for delivery confirmation on an envelope), apparently *that* is the service, hard copy and signature are interchangeable despite being in separate check boxes--they are the same thing, or something. It wasn't really clearly explained. Anyway, I had my items shipped at USPS and overall I felt it took way too long and I was not given a satisfactory explanation. I spent $13.00 mailing two envelopes (yes, just those small lick-able white rectangular sleeves you can buy in 50-pack boxes at Staples). It seemed high to ship those since "First Class Forever" stamps are only 60 cents or so. But that is the government for you, a convoluted bureaucracy that would be tricky to master for a Harvard doctorate, but because of their lackluster pay-scale and borderline benefits for all but the top-tier--you end up with these nebbish lackeys who wear the USPS costume but don't know jack from diddly about how the mail system actually works (nor do they care). Overall, an underwhelming, somewhat disappointing experience, but not altogether horrible. Like Yelp says for the two star rating "Meh, I've Experienced Better". read more
