They refused to print my return label, even though it was a USPS label. Sent me to Topanga Library for printing -- the library wasn't happy about printing the P.O. label and said it had happened other times. They graciously printed it for me. When I went back to the P.O. with the label, he wouldn't tape it on my package and said "we sell tape" overall an unpleasant experience. Would it be SO hard to offer the slightest bit of courtesy? read more

Off the bat: I love our postman, he's the loveliest human. The post office though... today I got into a situation right out of Curb Your Enthusiasm. The desk agent insisted that a certain address was wrong, I called the building and had them confirm on the phone. He continued to dress me down in public and working himself up in full view of others, when he then found a "secondary address" - the same address I'd given him. Felt like a misunderstanding right until he flew off the handle and *almost* refused to send my mail. It was very strange. I felt like Larry David. This might be a theme. read more

I love this post office! Topanga is a hidden, tucked away and isolated community. This is one of the only public resources available in the area other than the library and conservation center (no idea what services they provide). This post office is convenient, and the staff is always pleasant and helpful. It's so great to have this neighborhood outpost available to the local community. Especially around the holidays! They offer PO Boxes & packing supplies. Parking is tight be manageable, just be considerate of your neighbors. It's a rare thing to say that you love a post office but this is convenient one. The Topanga Postal Service is the absolute worst. Our mail carrier is obviously too stoned to get us the mail AGAIN and AGAIN. EVERY WEEK, there is a delivery missing. Oh, it went to another house... Gee, there it is sitting on the street at the end of the driveway... Or, it just simply never shows up - poof. Gone forever like a puff of...well we know... And forget about going online to report a 'missing package'... it's a nightmare - they take you through pages of questions to create an account, and then MORE pages to figure out HOW to report a missing package!! Almost an hour of THAT frustration and I gave up, unable to figure out their convoluted website (and, maybe they don't WANT you to anyway) - it's just not worth it (missing cashews and all). And did I mention, the folks at the Topanga post office? Wow. You walk in there and there's this feeling that you've just intruded as an unwanted stranger into their private living room interrupting their time to relax with their glass of Merlot: "What are you doing here?" "What do you want?" "What do you expect ME to do???" Please, Amazon, buy the USPS and fix it. read more

I like this location, easy walk-up. I just wish the women we're a bit more helpful and friendly. I run a small business and it's frustrating not being able to get answers. During Covid they had no answers and just kinda ignored my questions or say "I dunno" and literally walk away avoiding me. Really thinking about paying more to ship with UPS just for better answers and service. read more

I absolutely love this post office and the women who work there, and they do their jobs well. While it may be true that they aren't over the top friendly to everyone who walks in, if you give even an ounce of acknowledgement to them, they are kind and sweet. People are used to feeling entitled to kindness from service providers, but in a small town where you see these same people every time you come in, it makes sense to make the effort to create connection. Dealing with the long lines and near-sadistic level service Brooklyn PO for 15 years has informed my perception of what a rude PO worker really is, and these women don't make that category. My experience at the Topanga PO ranks as one of the things I'm grateful for on a regular basis. read more

The people that work at the Post office are very nice. BUT ... DANG, they don't even know how to ship a box to Europe! They don't know how to fill in a European address (they are sometimes quite long) into the customs form on their computer (which is set up for American-style addresses). And they don't know who they can ask for help. Or who I can ask for help. So they just tell me that maybe my box won't even get there, and if it does not, its my fault! Am I the only one in Topanga who ever sends things over-seas? read more

This is the only post office I've been to that has a sign that says "ring bell for service" and no one running the desk. That's not a big deal to me, but I rang the bell twice and no one was helping me. I could hear but not see a woman on a personal call, who was obviously ignoring me or too busy to be bothered. Finally, as I'm turning to give up and leave, Lucy walked by and saw me and asked if I had been helped. Side note: today was my third time stopping by the Topanga Canyon Post Office, and all 3 times, I have dealt with Lucy. Well, all three times, she has had such an unpleasant grumpy attitude. She acts like I asked her to help me pick up dog poop, not mail a 10z package. Sorry that you have to do the job you applied for...? I'd rather send my mail by carrier pigeons than come back here. read more

The negative reviews here are definitely fake reviews.I visit the Topanga Post Office every day. It never takes more than two minutes to be served. The workers are friendly and efficient. The reviewers here must be from UPS or FedEx. read more
