This is a very essential place for shipping packages in our small community, however the hours suck as this place closes at five in the afternoon. Also, because USPS wasn't able to fit our packages into our mailbox, we had to pick it up instead of the driver delivering to our driveway or at least try to answer the door. Overall, the UPS Drivers are more willing to deliver to our driveway and the USPS drivers mainly deliver at the mailboxes. read more

Everyone that works behind the desk is friendly and supportive. I was in line when it was rather busy and one of the customers was very rude. One in particular was on Oct 30th. I see she wrote a bad review, and in fact the customer was the rude one. I go to this location monthly if not weekly. The only real busy time is around the holiday's. read more

I made my passport appointment a month in advance and got there on time, I brought everything they asked for and more. The entire interaction was 5 mins and I walked out extremely satisfied, I didn't even need any of my photocopies (i had my old passport). I was applying for a passport and had not gone through the process prior. I forgot my birth certificate and asked if I could grab it at home which was about 20 min away. I was told yes by the young lady and then I proceeded to grab it. I got back to this location at 1:31 and was on the phone with a rude gentleman who kept yelling at me and speaking really loudly in regards to "how dare I ask that" "people have to go home to their families". I was just asking for a minute more to give them my document that was needed and was treated unkindly and rudely. I felt very uncomfortable to a point where I dropped the one minute situation and I just had one question but he wouldn't stop talking over me for me to be able to ask it. I had to raise my voice in order to ask my question. He then proceeded to lower his voice and finally answer my question. I get people going home on time but one minute really wouldn't have made much of a difference especially since I was there already. I also would've appreciated not being yelled at and getting a lecture on how they can't stay late read more

Magda made our visit at this post office for passport service memorable. She goes above and beyond on customer service. She is nice, kind and knows what she s doing. When we were there, she was the only one in the office and she did handle it all - both mails and passport services in a very quick response. I'm SO impressed!!!! read more

Very rude service when inquiring about a new passport application and paperwork. The office was EMPTY and yet they refused to even answer questions about passport applications, insisting on an appointment. It was really awful rude treatment, upsetting and disappointing. Saw them treating another elderly lady the same way. It was her third time returning for assistance. Disgusting. Is kindness and professionalism too much to expect? read more

I shipped a package on December 11th and teacher my package. There was movement that was tracked until it reached Los Angeles. My package was then tracked to the Malibu California post office where it sat for 4 days from December 11th no change any is now December 21st. There was no way to contact the location for an update. I completed the online inquiry and 2 days passed with no information. The package finally moved back to the Los Angeles distribution center on December 20th. It arrived there at about 5:30 pm. It's now more than 12 hours later and my package once again has not moved. There is no way to follow up and Ib will have to wait three days before I can fill out another inquiry. read more

To be frank, I would give no star if I had that option. I was supposed to receive a mail 3/18/2015 according to the tracking provided by USPS. Upon seeing that my item was "Out for Delivery" I waited at home all day. However, It was never notified as delivered and the tracking status was left at "updated delivery date: March 18, 2015" and shortly afterwards it updated with "Tracking not Updated" As of now, it is still "In transit" Frustrating! Funny, on the confirmed date it was supposed to be delivered I ran into the carrier and he said he has nothing for me. I decided to call USPS and was told to wait. I waited 20 minutes (I checked the time) and I hung up. I called again the next day and I was told to wait. I waited 15 minutes and no one came back on the phone. I call several hours later and finally I get someone on the phone. I tell him about my missing item and provided my tracking number...in which he says "OK so what do you want me to do???" (Isn't it their job to help you find your mail?) Then I leave him with my phone number and the guy says he would have to talk to the delivery guy who goes around my neighborhood. I then call back because I have given a wrong phone number and I told him I have to change it and he replies with "You just called! what do you want me to do?!!" At that point, I have already mentioned that I had to change my phone number. I still haven't received a response back from him, and it is frustrating process to try to figure out where your mail is. I come to this post office 3-4 times a week for my work and they are always extremely helpful and pleasant. There is one guy, Robert, I believe, who is usually there and always has a smile on his face. I recently had to go to another post office near my house in the valley and was reminded how often Postal workers can be unamused and bitter (For the record, I don't blame them), but it made me appreciate this location so much more. Dealing with the wealthier clientele of Malibu who are deaf to the word "no" isn't easy, but this office never lets it get to them and always has a positive attitude. So for that I tip my hat to you USPS Point Dume. read more

This post office has completely lost it. First they failed to deliver a very important letter a lawyer sent me. Then they issued a "notice" that it is ready for pick up and didn't even give the address where the letter is being held. Then I tried the option to have the letter redelivered based on the tracking number provided (it should have been delivered with no hassle and without such a request) but and their online system is inoperable, and clicking on the "submit" button does nothing (after spending the time to put in the tracking number and fill out the other fields). So I waited until 9:30 to call and they are not answering the phone, and half the time (I've called 6 times) I get a message saying the phone number is inoperable. The number is 310 457 1327 - the number provided online on their website. What a joke this operation has become - our government is worthless and needs to go. Do not use USPS - use UPS or Fed Ex. read more

With locations few and far between to get passports processed, I had to make an appointment at this Malibu location as it was the closest to where I live in Newbury Park and one of the only few that takes appointments. Nada was amazing with me and my kids. I forgot to bring something that was needed and she was quick to get another appointment on the schedule so we would not be too delayed with the processing. Once I did have all the appropriate paperwork, she was able to get us out of there within 20 minutes. I have heard horror stories of the wait time at other locations that do not take appointments, so I truly appreciate Nada's help and efficiency to make this process as painless as possible! read more
