Have been visiting this post office of-and-on for as long as I remember, living in Agoura for over 30 plus years. Post masters come and gone but the friendly receptionist/sales team remains committed, always helpful & always courteous. By gone are the in-house passport service as well as the 24/7 drive-through mail box outside the building. The office decor & façade are a bit outdated and required some paint retouched. The self service machine ALWAYS is out of paper and stickers. No matter when you go, it's probably out. Not broken, just not filled by employees. Then you have to wait in a 30 minute line since it's always out. Maybe before leaving refill it? read more

The folks at the counter here are AMAZING. Truly truly. Don't read the reviews about lost mail and consider it their fault - remember the Post Office is an underfunded, poorly run corporation full of bad automation and an eye to cutting costs. This post office is a disgrace. The counter workers are nice but mail delivery service is atrocious; I only get mail 2x weekly if I'm lucky; losing mail is the norm now at this place; original bills are delivered months late sometimes after I've requested dups; neighbors mail in my box constantly and they get mine; in spite of my many complaints, nothing improves. I'm posting this, so none of you make the same detrimental mistake I did by trusting the Agoura Hills post office. I requested to send something overnight. That was extremely important with the government and was told to send it certified mail but I didn't have to overnight it because it'll be there in plenty of time. They've totally lost my letter to the government that's going to cost me thousands of dollars now because I couldn't meet the deadline. Do not trust them at all they're dishonest, when you call to have them take accountability, they give wrong information to their customers. I'm disgusted by this experience!! Overall, decent service for a USPS. The lines are never too long. Just don't request information about a mailbox. The guy I asked seemed super lazy about it because he was trying to dissuade me from getting a mailbox -- he told me that the mailboxes are "for those people that really need it." I don't know what that means but it sounded judgy and I ended up going to UPS for superior service on the mailbox. read more

I think most US Post Offices get a bad wrap. Many people hate the long lines at the holidays or get frustrated by stoic employees who go slow. I have been to this Agoura Hills Post Office many times and I am telling you-they are different. I find the employees to be nice, usually when I go mid morning or mid day-there are no lines or maybe 1-3 people waiting. It's close to where I live so it's easy to drop off packages at last minute. It's clean, they have options to buy if you need envelopes, stamps, boxes, overnight shipping-they got ya covered. Now, normally I would take a lot of photos inside the place I am reviewing...but considering this is a Government business-I chose to just take photos outside. I've never been arrested...don't want to start now! Also-I want to mention if you don't have time to go inside, there is a driveway to the right that allows you to drive up and put it in the big blue Postal mailbox so you can be on your way- without leaving your car! That's handy! So be sure to use that option if you are in a hurry and don't have time to go inside.That's all for now! read more

Very long lines. They almost lost my package that was going to USCIS with all my original documents. I paid $30 for next day shipping and had to wait 2 weeks until it got found. I though it got lost and got so much stress. Had to come 3 times to get refund and then follow up about my package. Well this is an update to my previous review. It's been quite a while since I reviewed the post office but I'm glad Wes is still here doing great things. The service is much faster and better now and very impressed with Thomas as well. It looks like they really do care about customer service now and the best part is how they do try to save you money when you ship. Absolutely the worst post office around which is really a pretty competitive award. They closed the lobby at 3 on Saturday fair enough so I used the self-service machine and the package drop slot no problem. Except they then locked the package drop barrel at 3:15 and refused to answer the bell for customer service. Just a big hello no won't open the door despite providing a bell for that purpose. My dad was a regional postal supervisor for many years as I was growing up. He shakes his head at the stories of sheer don't-give-a-damn and laziness that I tell him about this post office. read more

I think that the branch in Agoura hills is the worst one in Los Angeles county. At least twice they lost my registered mail that was important, and quite a few times where important mail wasn't even delivered, including official documents, credit cards statements, etc, where I had to end up paying tens of dollars in late fees. This last Saturday the mail delivery truck didn't even show up. I have cameras outside my home, so I would have been able to show if the truck came, and I didn't see it at all the whole day. Many other times the original mailman didn't show up and someone else had to take over, which means the mail would come 4 hours or more later in the day. It's terrible. I hate going to this Post Office. 1. The employees move ultra-slow 2. They like to open 1 register while a long line of customers builds up. ***There are other employees around, but they are busy talking and slowly doing other tasks. 3. It takes a very long time to get something done here (i.e. mail an item, buy stamps, etc). It is best to use their automated mailing terminal in the lobby. read more

It was all about a misdelivered package but the solution was so well done by the employees at the Agoura Hills that I had to give it 5 Stars. Francisco went the extra mile by keeping in touch with me by phone and also alerting the carrier. The carrier tried to retrieve from the incorrect address but the people had already dropped it in a drop box for return to the PO (shoutout to them too). The carrier (so sorry I don't have his name) offered to pick it up from the PO after his shift and deliver it to me. Francisco called me when package was back in his hands at PO so I picked it up in person. The people at this post office showed they cared about me and the people in Agoura. What is going on at the Agoura Hills Post Office? We paid $46.75 for a package to be sent to Washington DC on November 28. It's now December 14 and the package is nowhere to be found. We tracked it and learned that it's been "in transit" since December 3. Huh? That was 11 days ago and it still hasn't made its way to DC. I could have driven it there and back in less time. Does Winnie, the manager at the Post Office, give a damn? Nope. Her brilliant answer was, "Sometimes it takes 15 days, and sometimes more." Then she added, "If you had paid a few dollars more, it would have been there by now." Gee Winnie. Thanks for your help. When I tracked a second package that I'm expecting from a retailer, I got a message that said the package was accepted at the Agoura Hills Post Office on December 9. As I still have not received the package, I went to the post office today, December 14, hoping to pick it up there. But nope. Good old manager Winnie denies the package was ever accepted. According to her, when tracking says "Shipment Acceptance," it really means that the post office "agreed" to accept the package, not that they actually accepted it. Wow, Winnie, you get an A for creativity. Apparently, Winnie the manager is only capable of managing her stockpile of excuses. I recommend you stay clear. read more

Just went in to buy stamps at 7:00am so I could keep away from people during this covid time. I went in, wearing a mask. I was at the automated terminal to buy stamps and the custodial guy is cleaning up and he's not wearing any sort of face covering. I immediately left without buying stamps. Look, I'm not expecting masks to be worn when people aren't there but if the custodian sees someone inside, have a mask on you so you can put it on when you're around someone else. Gonna have to wake up even earlier now so i can buy stamps to avoid the custodian. read more

I have been living in the community for over 21 years and never had any incident or issues with Agoura Post office until today. My package has been sitting in the post office dock for 2 1/2 days and is not being processed. I called the post office and after several tries, WInnie (not sure if this is a real name she gave me) the manager (an Asian lady) picks up the phone and in the middle of my conversation she hangs up on me. I called again and no one answers. I go to the post office to talk to her. She keeps repeating herself that the package has not been processed. I asked him why? It has been 2 1/2 days. She says it is not her problem (she is the manager!!!). Rather than handling the issue with whomever is suppose to handle package processing at the location, she gives me a number to call. She is extremely rude and will not help you. Only passes the buck to someone else. She also asked me to call 800 number which I did and was on the phone for 1 hour and 49 minutes, before my battery ran out.. Winnie (or whatever your name is). you are the manager of that post office, do you job.. You are worthless, otherwise. Hope your superiors read these comments. I will make sure that I contact her supervisor and put in a complaint! I have never complained or gave a negative review on Yelp or any other media, but if your title is a manager and you are running a Federal Post Office, there has to be much higher standards set for you as to how you interact with your customers. The pens don't work, and the staff behind the counter don't do much working either. I had a package that said it should have already arrived but hadn't yet. So I called to make sure everything was ok or if there was anything I could do. I spoke to Rick who said he would call me if he saw it. We hung up and I was sure I'd never actually hear from anyone again. But within the next couple of days I received a voicemail from him telling me he saw my package and it should arrive the next day, which it did! I appreciate the call back. The line was somewhat long being the day after Thanksgiving, as I'm sure people are starting to mail for Christmas, but I had a prepaid label, and a woman was offering to take those packages while other waited to pay for postage. That was great, and probably would have gotten this post office more stars, however I needed ONE PIECE OF TAPE, and the woman would not even give me one piece of tape. She said she could sell me a roll, but couldn't give me a piece of tape! Just one small piece to seal my package. I couldn't believe it. This is the first time I've experienced this. Thankfully a UPS store in a nearby shopping center spared a piece of tape for me and was able to take my package for mailing. I always come in to drop off packages from poshmark. I print out the postage. I get in line and it's put inside a slip that sticks to the package. I've been doing this for years. I just came in last week to do this exact thing. Today I walk in and see an older woman I have never seen before. She confuses the people before me. When I go up and ask for a slip she says no... umm a slip with a sticker... no you can buy tape.. I'm not buying $5 tape for a slip for a pre paid package that I always receive.
