I have been having a lot of difficulty with mail delivery to one of the properties I manage. Without going into too many details (don't want to bore you with them), the troubles I am having are not the fault of the post office/post carrier. So when I knew I had to call them, I was dreading it. You've seen the long lines at the physical locations. What were the odds that I would actually get someone on the phone who would take the time to actually listen to my issue and give me constructive advice on my next step or a resolution to the problem. The phone rang. And rang. And rang. I started to lose hope and was about to hang up. But then Steve picked up. What a helpful guy! Not only did he take the time to listen to my long detailed issue, he asked questions to make sure he was understanding the issue correctly before trying to give me answers. Unfortunately, Steve was unable to come up with a solution to my unique issue but said "Hold on. Let me see if I can speak with my Carrier Supervisor to see if we can come up with a solution that's a little out of the box." (I'm paraphrasing, but that's the gist of it.) No joke, my face lit up with a smile. I wasn't going to be brushed aside! Someone is finally listening to me! A few minutes later he came back on the line and gave me the name and contact number for someone who he believed would be a good resource to help me. He even wished me good luck in my journey towards resolution as we parted ways. I really appreciate that he went above and beyond trying to find an answer instead of telling me he didn't know and leaving me to navigate the abyss that is the US Post Office phone system. read more

I've had a po Box here for several years. Every year they close it even though I go through the process of setting up auto pay supposedly. Again this year, maybe an email system for people that can't get by there PO box regularly or do it how it was setup numerous times!!! read more

Stop your whining that I didn't bring a photo with me for the passport when you have multiple signs saying that you can do photos on site.

Besides the long lines and the dark gloomy atmosphere I really had no complaints. But today that changed when one of the older bald men behind the counter seemed displeased I had more than 3 boxes. At first he was just throwing them around a little. But then he literally shoved them as hard as he could down the ramp. His mumbling and just no cares given attitude just shows how ungrateful he is to have a job. I would recommend staying as far away as possible from this place try ups fedex anywhere else will actually treat you like your a paying customer. An incident of public humiliation by a post office staff member. I walked into the Post Office with a package pick-up slip and a package to mail just a couple of minutes before closing. Upon entering, there was a lady struggling to get stamps printed from the self-service machine. She stated that she had already paid, however, her stamps did not print. I attempted to try the machine myself and started measuring my package. I didn't even know there was another set of doors going into the customer service area. A Man was standing there with keys and was getting ready to close. Rather than fussing with the machine, which apparently was not working properly, I rushed inside for live customer service. People were still standing in line. Upon entering, I heard a loud voice saying: "NOoo... we are closed, we are closed, Mam'". The lady who had trouble with the stamps machine stood behind me and politely said "the machine did not print my stamps. I have my receipt and I would like to get them". The clerk (a middle-aged woman with a red hair bob - unfortunately, I could not catch her name from far away), once again raised her voice and this time signaling STOP with her hand said "NOoo... we are closed and you can't come in, NOoo". At this point she was yelling; everyone in line looked at us, the other customer and I we were standing in front of the door with the doorman holding it half open. She was "shooing" us out. The doorman, with a look of embarrassment, nicely said "I'm sorry..." I stepped out of the way; the other customer, who had a receipt in her hands, rightfully stood there. The flustered clerk asked the doorman to go see what was going on with the self-service machine. He then said to me, "Ok, you can probably still go in, I've not closed the door yet"... At that point I thought "I would not dare! to be humiliated like that again? I was shaking... it was the most bizarre and awkward situation I had ever encountered at a place like this. I understand rules must be followed, but no one, absolutely no one should ever be treated like this. SUch unprofessional and outrageous behavior should not be tolerated at a government public service office. I wrote a letter to the general manager hoping to prevent this from happening to someone else. I had gotten poor comments from this place before, but from now on I know that I will rather drive a few miles away and go to a nearby city's Post Office. read more

Awful experience. Horrible customer service and unable to provide consistent postal services. I switched as much as I could to online billing and utilize FedEx and ups as much as possible to avoid lost mail and unhelpful employees. Truly disappointing that they just don't care. read more

What is it with postal workers and their need to be rude?! I mean, if you hate your job so much... you should quit and let people who need and WANT to work take your position. I'm giving 1 star because I have to and because the lady I spoke with this morning was very patient with my frustrations. After seeing reviews and the experience I had with one of the workers yesterday and the lack of update on my tracking #, I was worried that my package wasn't/isn't on its way. I paid at the kiosk, which I do often, and placed my package in the bin. When the package didn't fall through, it caused the bin to lock up. I pulled it a few times because I desperately wanted it to fall so that I could be assured it wasn't damaged or taken. I looked over my shoulder an older lady that works there who was helping the other lady at the kiosk. The look on her face was pure irritation... BEFORE I even asked her about my package being stuck. When I did ask, she said don't worry about it, I'll get it when I'm finished with her. I informed her that I was genuinely concerned because I've had mail stolen out of my mailbox before and feared someone might get this one somehow. She goes "well yes, at home - but not here." So, I guess it's ok for stuff to get stolen from your home mailbox that is LOCKED!!!!!! I left and then began to worry that someone else may try to insert a package and upon using force might damage mine that was stuck. So I turned around and headed back. She was still at the kiosk. So I rang the side door service bell, no one said anything. Then a guy comes up behind me and rings it extensively and she yells "I'll be right there." When she came to the door I told her that I just wanted to see that my package wasn't damaged. She seemed frustrated but dug out the package and held it up. I said "awesome, thank you" and left. I immediately signed up for text alerts to track my package. The next day, my package still showed in "acceptance - the post office has been notified electronically to expect your package!" My idea is that, if anything, it should say received by now!!! Especially since when I signed up for text alerts it said to expect up to 11 texts. So, I go to the post office and explain to the lady at the counter (after listening to the lady ahead of me looking for a package that should have been delivered already). She explained to me that they no longer scan the packages from the kiosk and that I would receive nothing until it gets to the post office in the city of delivery. WAIT!! WHAT?!? That's some complete BS. So who knows where or what's going on with my package and I just have to trust it's on it's way?!? Highly frustrating and unacceptable!!! Never again will I mail a packed through USPS!!! Here we are, on Saturday, the day my package is supposed to be delivered to my very dear friend for her baby shower - and STILL not one update!! Not even one showing its been received by the post office in her town. Now after seeing some reviews about non delivered packages, the attitude given to me by the older red headed "lady" and other reviews on here specifically about her attitude... I TRULY wonder if she vindictively "misplaced" my package?! I hate to think that way but after my son's birthday money was stolen out of his card and the card was still delivered, torn open, into my locked mail box... I wouldn't doubt it. I mean, I figured by mailing things with tracking #s, things like this shouldn't happen. But if the post office is "no longer scanning received kiosk items" and their website STILL says they "received notification to expect my package" and you KNOW it's there because you saw it and the lady assures you nothing would happen to it..... Then why does this signal big red flags to me?!?! I've been down the USPS claims road and got no where when my son's birthday money was stolen. I can only imagine their argument will be "it says we're still waiting to receive it!" I hope not because the $50 insurance refund is not near as meaningful as the gifts I went out and bought, creative wrapping I did and touching card I sent - I hope I'm overreacting but if she doesn't get her package TODAY, this post office is going to see a whole new meaning of "Going Postal!" TIP: Use FedEx - not the post office. You know you can't trust the government. With anything..., I'm certain a worker stole my son's money, somewhere along the way, due to the fact we have a LOCKED mail box!!!!! That's why I started using this post office. This office is not run well, and the workers are usually in bad moods. They are not helpful, do not answer their phones, and do not take care of packages. On multiple occasions I have witnessed them throw and drop packages. read more

Most of the Postal workers are rude and if you have questions about anything they point to the wall behind them .. because for some reason they don't even know. Forget trying to call this office for help. They have no working phones. And calling USPS to get help is pointless too. Some people there are very rude, they lost my package and refused to help me trying to find. They claimed i need to pay extra to have someone look in their paperwork to try to find the tracking number and pretty much told me it's easier to give it for lost. Please avoid this location. read more

Normally I try not complain about services or places but in this case I must. I understand we all have our good days and bad days but my brother ordered a book from amazon and we received HALF of a box with a tracking number. Ok, odd. So I took the box half with me to this USPS branch. I asked the person behind the counter if I had any outstanding packages- my brother really needed this book. He was extremely rude and unhelpful. He condescendingly told me that this is what was delivered and there was nothing else- he didn't even bother to check. This post office has lost three of my packages in the past three weeks. Each time they mark them as delivered so the shipper can't make a claim. The phone number is always off the hook- as the manager told me- and the management is extremely rude. It's PO's like these that make good paying customers turn to FedEx/UPS. I think an internal audit is overdue for this location. As others have recently mentioned, i have been having packages not delivered to my address. On top of that, my work has me out of town for extended periods, I returned home to find that the carrier had marked my box as "Vacant". I went to this location on the next day it was open, to find ALL my mail had been returned to sender. read more

Staff is professional and efficient. They work non-stop providing millions of little miracles every single day. As a frequent patron of the San Marcos Post Office, I've observed other customers behaving badly. A lot of people are impatient, ill-mannered and condescending towards Postal workers. I'm not sure why this post office gets bad ratings. I've always had such great service, especially by Will. Every time I go in there he's always courteous and friendly and extremely helpful. Pretty quick post office and the gentleman behind the counter seemed super cheery which was nice. I was pleasantly surprised to be in and out as fast as I was since it is so close to Christmas and all. The only thing that I was not thrilled about was paying over 21 dollars to ship a box full of candy to some of my deployed sailors when it is simply being shipped to a warehouse somewhere on the 32nd street waterfront to wait for it to be transported to the ship. read more

I visit this office often and I always get greeted with a smile and hello. Some clerks even know me by name. They are helpful and always offer options to save the customer money by offering flat rate boxes or different shipping methods. They would have got a five star review, but on peak hours (lunch hour and evening) lines can get long. read more

I'm not quite sure why this location has a low rating. I've been here a number of times and for different things and all the workers at this location are so friendly and so helpful! It's part of my job to always need to send things out through the post office, and I've never been to one where they genuinely want to help you until now. Super slow and rude service. I was looking for a flat rate shipping box and he clerk told me they didn't carry it. When she went to the back the other clerk mentioned that there was a stockpile in the back. 20 mins later, she emerges with the package of box and told me to restock it. I went in and had a man greet me and my boyfriend asking what we needed. I was there for a passport appointment and he confirmed my time and showed us where to go which was very nice of him. The lady who assisted us with the passport process was wonderful. I believe her name was Lele, she was amazing and very sweet. She helped us make sure we had everything and was very patient. This post office is near our home so it's my "go to" so to speak. It can get busy of course but they aren't unpleasant in the least. They typically have an employee go through the line to answer questions or give information. read more

I have had a good experience when I went in and the guy who helped me was kind and quick to help. I got the information I needed and help regarding my new address. He got my information down in case we received a package there so He could send it to the right address. However, I got a package that was delivered Monday and it seems I still haven't received it , and today I got a key in the mail to check the package mailbox and the key fit in the wrong mailbox... the key said p35 but it opens p34 and I tried soooooo hard to get the key in to p35 and it wouldn't open but it easily opened p34... which is also concerning if they're using the same key for every mailbox that has packages. I called the facility and it's impossible to reach anyone. The automated system is another level of aggravating .... the package in my mailbox may not even be mine .. because that has also happened before. I'm just trying to get my package for Christmas and it's become almost impossible ... I've been on hold for a while now and I'm concerned for the other persons package that's in p34 ... I live 3 blocks away from the post office and I been having issues with the mail deliveries, I order some stuff from the web and the package were lost it never arrived to my mail box. I was waiting for my new born baby security card and it never arrive it was lost too!! (Since this an important document I'm afraid it was placed in a wrong mail box). This post office totally sucks!!!! I sent a package to my grandchildren with the CORRECT postage on it according to THEIR MACHINE. It was suppose to get there in 2 days, and being sent locally it should have. It took weeks to get it to them, and the post office decided instead of leaving it in their mailbox they would take it back to the post office. Mind you, it was only a 9x12 envelope which would have easily fit. My daughter-in-law had to go pay $2.04 to get the envelope?????? Why would she have to pay the postage I already paid for???? You cannot get through to them no matter what time of day you call. Our mail system is always broke, yet we pay these idiots a huge salary for lazying around on their asses, not caring about customer service. Why should they, their jobs are secure!!!!! The passport application officer is extremely rude and not helpful at all. She does not know which kind of documents can be used as photo IDs even I show her that requirements for documents as IDs, which are posted on US Department of State website. Kept arguing with me and said she does not know why the website does not post the right information. I will not go to this postoffice anymore even it is the closest one to me. read more
