I normally don't leave reviews, but on Saturday, December 6th, the service at the San Marcos UPS Store was unacceptable. I was helped by a staff member named Noah, who was extremely rude and unprofessional. He was yawning in our faces, purposely taking his time, and even killing gnats with his bare hands while helping us--without washing his hands afterward. The entire interaction was slow, uncomfortable, and showed zero customer service. What makes this worse is that the young man working with him on Saturday overheard what was happening and defended Noah by saying he was "just having a bad day." After reading the reviews, it's clear this isn't a one-time situation--he seems to have a "bad day" every day. In the days after this incident, I went to two other places and mentioned my experience, and both had already heard about the issues at this UPS Store. If customers are leaving bad reviews and other businesses in the area are hearing about the poor service, why hasn't the manager or owner stepped in to fix this? A couple of days before my visit, I also called the store about notary services. The girl who answered the phone picked up like it was a personal call and then hung up on me--I had to call back. If you have a heavy package to drop off ...and you are not a tall, blonde...skip this location! There are 2 nice guys here, a young man named John and an older gentleman with a sexy scalp. The other graying hair guy...is just a rude character! He will not offer to lift ANYTHING, which is neither here nor there. But, if you do put the box on the counter he will ask you to move it to another floor area. If you head to the floor area...he will tell you the box must be on the counter. My last visit I saw Grey Hair carrying 3 huge boxes, without even being asked for my blonde staff. Wow! I used to use this location for my business when we needed things mailed. Been in here a couple of times and the owner and staff are just rude and argumentative. Staff shares they can't print a label with the machine because it will be $3. They then say you can email it. Email it and then they print it from the computer. All good until the end when the said it would be $3. When I state my point about the interaction owner began to argue with me even after I said I'm not going to argue with you while paying. It's a single piece of paper and you're paid for the drop off. Find another store to ship from. $3 for a bad customer experience, poor review and lost customer. Seems like a strange position to draw a line in the sand but to each their own. read more

I paid $54.17 on 02/24/25 for second day air service to mail medication that my husband forgot to pack for his trip. The medication was not delivered on time. I tried calling the store multiple times, no pick up and call disconnected. I spent hours trying to reach a human anywhere at UPS to no avail, online chats completely worthless. I went to the store location on 02/28/25 to be told by Nolan that there's nothing they can do, they're "not actually affiliated with UPS (they're) a standalone store" and that "second day air isn't a guarantee." So basically they can take your money, not provide a service and then tell you to search on the internet and good luck. I am almost unhappy customer and, for what it's worth, still have been unable to reach ANYONE at UPS. read more

I've been coming here regularly and it's always a pleasure. Today there was only one young lady working alone. But she was so professional and precise that she was managing both windows by herself. She was quick, helpful, professional, pleasant even when certain people seemed frustrated that they had no cell service. Went to get a paper notarized for school. Got an email back from the school stating the notary did not follow the directions. Called the UPS store to tell them what happened. Next thing I know I get told by the boy with long blond hair and a long blond beard that I was wrong (he originally did it, even spelled my name wrong on the paperwork). I went to the store to confirm and they had to redo it. Another worker looked over the work realized it was done wrong. Then proceeded to not read the instructions again and it did wrong a second time in front of me. Safe to say I'm not going back and paying another $15 when two children can't do the job right. read more

Today I had an absolutely terrible experience at this UPS store due to the extremely poor customer service provided by one of their employees ( it may have been the Owner) . I went in to return a package from Amazon and was greeted by an employee who was clearly disinterested in helping me. When I asked a question about returning a rug that I had ordered from Amzon , he gave me a curt and unhelpful response that left me feeling frustrated and confused.Throughout the interaction, the employee seemed completely indifferent to my needs as a customer. Overall, I was extremely disappointed with the level of service I received and would strongly advise others to avoid it if they are looking for a positive customer experience. I normally always go to my Escondido UPS location on East Valley Parkway ( where their customer service is always amazing ). But today 1/28 , I was in the San Marcos area and decided to drop off a package at this location since I was already in the shopping center. When I came in there was still 10 minutes to close 4:50pm and they close at 5pm. The moment I walked in the person at the counter by the name of Raul ( I asked for his name before I left ) looked at me with such a miserable face rolled his eyes did not welcome me and just turned around and walked away to the back to put something away, comes back to the front and I just like stayed there he did not say anything to me just looked at me mad , so I said hello how are you. He did not even acknowledge me saying hello , just grabbed my package scanned it and gave me a receipt , did not even say thank you for coming in or have a great evening. Nothing , I was the one who told him have a good day. I started walking away but then turned back to ask for his name and he rudely told me his name and turned around again. Never coming to this store again. I would understand going in 1-2 minutes before closing but no he had 10 minutes left. He did not have to be so rude. Horrible energy . Wouldn't listen to me, spoke over me and then completely ignored my request for her to prove she would take care of my package. I use UPS stores all of the time for notary services and shipping. Everytime I go to this location they are short staffed or the team members are very unfriendly. The line will be out the door and the staff will be working to scan packages instead of waiting on customers. Today I went in for a notary and waited 25 minutes while a staff member shipped 2 items for a person ahead of me. The other team member slowly checked in packages that were already delivered while the line grew. Finally when I was my turn to be served the only notary in the store looked to help the next person in line. Then when she finally helped me she discovered that she lost her notary stamp. I was in the store for more than 35 minutes and for a notary and then was told they couldn't help. As a professional that uses other UPS locations this store consistently has poor service and their staff members move extremely slow like they hate their job. Use a different location for sure if you are in a time crunch. read more

Is negative stars an option? This location has 1 employee who is pleasant. A gentleman. Every other employee is snark, presents themselves poorly and extremely rude. I do a lot of returns as a secret shopper. Each time I dread going in because each time they are rude. I know if they treat me (a regular) that way they are likely disrespectful to everyone. Typically I just keep my head down and complete my transactions but this time I witness one African American girl also be rude to an older lady. That was the last straw for me! This branch is less than 3 minutes from my house but definitely does NOT represent a "neighborhood location". I came into the store about six months ago with a carpet to return, and carried it through a thunderstorm to bring it into the store. They refused to help me because they said the plastic was wet no offer of a towel to dry it off or anything. Just straight up embarrassed me in front of all the other customers and wouldn't take the carpet back, I just came in here again today in the same two girls were there and hassled me over the fact that one of my returns was not taped closed. After I asked if I could use some tape and I would tape it close they wanted to charge me $1.50 to tape the box shut.
