I needed to mail a birthday card and first attempted to go to the Oakridge mall post office, to try and mail it. Unfortunately they were on a lunch break from 2:00 to 3:00 pm. So I remembered my husband mentioning to me that there was a post office on Cahalan Ave, which wasn't too far from where I was. As I approached the post office I noticed the driveway was a oneway direction. You enter one way and exit at the other end of the parking lot. Luckily I turned at the right entrance and found a parking spot in the front. They have their own parking lot that offered a large amount parking and one handicap parking spot. This was my first time here. When I entered the post office, I noticed that it was a lot bigger than the one I used to go too. They had several postal employees working the postal counter, which was nice. It seemed very efficient in there. They have a huge post office box section and some lockers. They also had an automated postage machine. They sell greeting cards and gift cards as well. I dropped my letter inside the Mail Drop box inside and left. This is the closest post office by our house and I usually have no problems with them, even though they never seem happy and hate their job. I needed non-machinable handling for my first class envelope. The manager strongly insisted that there's no such thing and that all the mails go through the machines now. Why does the usps website still offer non-machineable stamps if there's no such thing? I even saw a sheet of the non-machineable stamps (had to look up online and verify the green moths stamps) lying on the counter..... I'm going to a different post office now if I need some real assistance. They're not helpful at all. read more

Was in line filling out my paperwork to send out. One male clerk was extremely rude and told me to leave because they had closed already. I told them I was inside way before they closed. Came in to drop off a box. No line, only one person in front of me. Facing the counter there was a older guy on the far right, having a full on conversation with a woman. Once she left he called up the guy who just got there with looked like a colored form. The guy said don't I have to get in line, he said out loud "No...they don't count" Ok, rude! If you're not there to help then maybe you shouldn't be in the front line in front of customers. When it was my turn, guy helped me, mention that I would have to pay for tape to tape down my label. I had asked so you want me to purchase tape? He said he would place tape for me this time. FYI for those sending out boxes. Make sure you BRING YOUR OWN SUPPLIES! Don't expect these employees to provide any type of customer service. I'd rather go to a local business owner who provides these services. They are much nicer and much more happier. read more

Very disappointed with USPS. On day 1, the carrier claimed they "attempted" delivery, but never actually got out of the truck. A car was parked on the sidewalk near their path (not blocking the mailbox), and instead of making the effort to bring the package, they just marked it as undeliverable. Now it's day 2 and no attempt has been made at all. This is an important package I've been waiting for, and it's frustrating that USPS can't be relied on to follow through. Reliable delivery means actually delivering -- not avoiding the effort. read more

Just went in to this location. The clerk helping me this morning wasn't very helpful. Look, I'm not a shipping expert ok? You tell me to write the shipping address I want on my package with a sharpie in the wrong location, then you tell me "how are you going to ship anything like that" I don't care if you're from here or out of country. That's just rude, belittling. Writing the shipping address on my package with a sharpie doesn't seem very professional of USPS. I ended up dropping of my package with FedEx, paid more but I didn't have to write out the shipping address with a sharpie. This USPS location is not great. read more

I started working for the San Jose Post Office in 1970 as a part time flexible city letter carrier just after I served in the Army in Vietnam. I started out working at the former city main post office on Meridian Avenue where I delivered mail in a three wheeled postal scooter. After I got promoted to regular carrier I then worked at the Alma Post Office off Minnesota Ave. I then got a mail route at Station D on the East Side off Alum Rock Ave. When Gunderson High School was built along with the new homes off Hyde Park Dr I was their first regular mailman while working out of the newly built Hillview Post Office. Then the Cahalan post office was built and was on same route. Then Robertsville Post Office was built and continued there while on same route until I bought my new Pyramid home near the Blossom Hill Post Office. I bid and was rewarded my new mail route where I bought my home. I served there on that route until I was promoted as carrier supervisor at the Cahalan post office. I then made Superintendent of Cahalan and then promoted to manager. When you see that clock tower at the Cahalan Post Office, I put that there years ago. I retired in 2004. I had the opportunity to work from Hillview, Blossom Hill, Robertsville from day one when they were new. I served my customers proudly including earning several awards as a craft employee and manager...and I am a proud Army Vietnam Veteran read more

Well, I clearly didn't get the people everyone in the reviews complains about. I got a middle aged hsipanic man. He was very kind, friendly and helpful. It was during the first week of the heat wave and I was mailing stuff home to TX. We joked about the weather and he said 'well... it's hot but it's not Texas hot..' and I said yeah unfortunately, that's where I'm going lol home. So he wished me well and to stay cool. 10 out of 10 for me. Maybe I just got lucky. But the guy who helped me was awesome. No doubt about that. read more

Had an awful experience at this post office! My valuable package was delivered to the wrong address due to a carrier mistake, and when I went in for help, the manager was incredibly rude and unprofessional. He ignored me waiting, sighed when I asked questions, and even made unnecessary comments about my license photo. Instead of assisting me, he avoided helping altogether, promised to call with updates but never did--despite claiming he knew who I was. Completely unacceptable service. There was another person waiting behind me to speak to him, and he helped the person in front and completely disregarded the rest of us and even left for quite a while. We experienced a very bad service here. A week ago, we walked in and needed to change our address because we moved here. We asked one of the staff which was an old man and he told us to fill out a change of address card and wait for a week. The whole time when we were trying to get his help, he had a horrible attitude, very impatient, and barely helped us. After more than a week of waiting, when we went in again to check, we were told that they did not receive our last record and we needed to fill out the card again. I just want to say I had a package lost which was an iPhone from eBay it was supposed to be my sons Christmas gift I was told it was delayed due to postal strike. Long story short eBay won't refund and I never received phone. I just came to post office for information since it was untraceable. Reporting it everywhere I can. I know it was not the post office. This post office I have only had great experiences. Especially today with manager Keith. He helped me right away and was kind. He gave me great advice and information. I dropped off an important letter for certified mail and they ended up losing it. However the manager was apologetic and told me that they were truly sorry and they try to hit the 100% percent mark and that they would refund me for it. Which they ended up doing! The service was great and he came out right away and even investigated what happened. The service was quick for sending out a letter! It cost almost $5 for certified mail. read more

I can probably say that Post Office workers are "nice". Do not expect much but dropping off my mail or package and want to make sure it's delivered. I am here usually 5 days in a week to ship something out. My packages already has prepaid labels on them so I usually go to the same locations to drop off the packages and I have not had an issue having it shipped out. All boxes w/ prepaid labels should go to the right of the counter by the wall. It is sure to be sent out the same day. All envelope size items should go in the white slot on the wall on the post office boxes side of the bldg, it will go out the same day. Be aware of the times they open and close as they are quite punctual. If you do not want to wait in line, there's usually a line, you can do the self service shipping yourself. There's a machine that will allow you to buy stamps to ship out packages. There's a large mailbox inside. Note the items in there usually are routed to the Lundy PO before being sent out. read more

Hard to find parking during peak hours! Lines may be long as well even with 3+ people on the register. This is a busy location so best to go during off hours. The staff here are overall all nice! Make sure to ask for a drop off receipt for packages you drop off that are pre-labeled. It MAY not always get scanned in at the location so it may stay without an update to the tracking until a different checkpoint. I like to go here during off hours because of the short lines and friendly staff. read more

It's the post office, what more can you say? lines grow very fast at this location, but the staff members always remain friendly and do the best they can to get customers in and out in a timely manner. If you need to use this post office for any reason, I'd suggest that you come here as soon as they open, as they do tend to stay busy throughout the later part of the day, especially between 3PM-5PM. read more

Yet another package miss-delivered. The mail carriers need to start being held accountable for miss delivering packages that are never returned. The favorite line they like to give out "the package shows delivered to your address " well it never made it to my mailbox so obviously the carrier put it in the wrong one. Unfortunately we have so many sketchy people in the world whoever got the package is keeping it. Picking up a package from my PO Box but the package doesn't fit the box so I had to pick up from the counter. First of all, they have a sign that says drop off and pick up go to the end. I stand and wait and despite the 2 employees working the counter looking at me multiple times I still had to ask... is someone coming to this window or should I wait in line? Dude tells me I probably should wait in line. Ok that's understandable, they're busy but not from having so many ppl coming in... more from how slow they are. Anyway, I wait in line then good ole Farhat "helps" me. I hand her the slip ( that was placed in my box, that takes a key to get from inside my box) she goes and retrieved my package. Asks for my name which isn't listed on the package. Farhat asked for my ID ( I assume so she can cross check if I'm on the box) comes back and asks me to go open the box for her! What does that prove after asking for my ID?! She stands there and tells me this is not your name... lol. Seriously?! I say I know but I'm on the box. Probably would've been easier to lie to her and tell her the name that was listed although it's a females name. But why lie? She takes a few more minutes to finally goes verify the proper way of who's name is on the box instead of having me prove that I'm the owner by way of opening it for her. My gripe is ppl lose keys all the time and that's how you're going to check if I'm the rightful owner is to ask for my ID, do nothing with that info and ask me to open the box. Guys! Don't ever lose your key or your mail and packages are vulnerable to theft by Farhat's best practices. I feel as safe as just having it mailed to my home! read more

I've had enough and tell him to calm down and ask why is he being so hostile. He replied, if you don't want my help, you can go somewhere else and that is exactly what I did. Honestly, the problem here is that there understaffed, but that doesn't mean the workers don't work hard especially Eugene. Everytime I'm here he's the one that can get 3 people ahead before other people can even finish one. When I see someone like him work I believe he deserves a raise for all the hard work he puts in everytime. I accidentally entered my address wrong and had my package sent to the wrong address and it happened to be vacant.The post office helped me retrieve the package. The store manager called me and informed me they have my package. They had good communication and was patient. They were quite busy when I was picking up the package on Saturday. They were also very efficient, the line moved quickly. I am very happy with their communication and effort. A lot of people get angry at their local post office for delayed or missing packages. but let's keep in mind they are doing their best to deliver mails everyday for us. They are always later opening the door in the morning and they basically overcharge me for a couple packages saying that I didn't weigh them right when that is very much incorrect. I weighed my packages accordingly and ship them off to my buyers. This is annoying I ship with them every week and this is upsetting to me! AVOID CLERK 10 EUGENE ALL THE WAY TO THE FAR RIGHT . Usually I do not have an issue with this usps , I'm here about 2/3 times a week shipping out items since I do it for my business. There's clerk 10 the last man on the end , he's a very rude Asian man . I guess the policy changed , I usually go in there for a receipt for confirmation on my items . He flagged my items where it did not show up on the screen after he scanned them. I was waiting there for awhile then finally they popped up . I had 10 packages to be shipped out , the ones he spent time typing and extra time looking at . He could of told me they will not be accepted instead of the next day it says returned back to sender. The worst post office ever. We have no consistent mail carrier and the person of this particular week is SO lazy, they shove boxes through tiny mail slots (ripping apart the package in the process) and sends back packages "undeliverable" because they don't fit in my mail slot and the mail carrier is too lazy to walk to my front door. Macy's broke my order in half using the same address for shipping on both items. Half arrived and half had the "wrong address". Ironically, the half that made it fit in my mail slot. HILARIOUS. How stupid do they think we are? This is, of course, if your mail even makes it to your house. read more

I should have read the reviews before dropping my packages off at this place. One more lost mail sob story to add to the lot! The schedule says that the box lobby is open daily. It's Sunday so I'm like sweet I'll swing by and drop my two packages into the bin located inside the box lobby. Wrong! There is a paper sign taped to the lobby that says the box lobby is closed on Sundays. No big deal, right? There are blue boxes outside in the parking lot, just drop them in those. Yeah, so it's been over two weeks and one package never got scanned in and never arrived at its destination (2-day shipping). I called the facility 5 times before someone actually picked up the phone. Of course, he said there's nothing that can be done and that I should just wait a few more days. He said there were no break-ins at the blue boxes recently. More waiting, more nothing. I have given up hope. One star for the one package they got right (dropped in the blue box at exactly the same time). Never using this facility again. read more
