There isn't a handicap accessible post office. I couldn't get up the stairs so some kind neighbors helped me get the forms I needed & then gave it to a postal worker. This Post Office does not provide access for the aged and or handicapped. I am almost 85 years old and have to use a cane or walker. There are no ramps that access this building. There are only very steep steps. i nearly fell backwards trying to get up the steps this morning. The excuse that the postal clerk gave me re. ramps was that the biulding is an historical site and no additions can be made to it. That is discrimination against the elderly and handicapped. read more

Beware when coming to this post office especially using the outdoor mail drop box . I came to this location since I was by the area and when trying to place my mail I'm the outdoor drop box i realized it was overflowing . I am Assuming the mail hasn't been emptied in a while as stated that mails gets picked up 2 certain time during the day I could literally put my hand in and grab letters out . I decided to go inside as well take the letters that were at reach . I would suggest to use the indoor mail drop off to make sure your important documents/ bills arrive on time read more

There was a gentleman in a wheelchair outside this location asking for help to get inside the building so he can mail his package. I went in and asked the lady at the counter if they had a way for wheelchair access and with attitude the lady replied no he has to go to another location because we don't service people like him here. I could not believe it! I hope the guy sues. We are in the 21st-century and with all our technology we can't offer wheelchair access to the disabled? This is infuriating and I hope the city does something about it! Feel free to write to the mayor and let them know about this location. I will not be bringing my business here nor do I recommend anyone else doing so either. We ran into another employee outside the building at the post office and even she said that it was so frustrating and made her angry that they didn't service folks that were disabled. She said that post offices reply is basically this is how it's always been. But we are in a changing world and should modify to help those in need! read more

I bring my grandma here every week, once and maybe even more times a week. It's a very small post office with a parking lot equally as small . There's usually one or two people working which means that it's really slow. Also, I don't know if it's my luck but every time we have to stay in line, the people that require 20 minutes of service always are in front of me. Overall, I've been to better. Not just because of the wait and the size, but also because this post office doesn't offer any passport services. :/ read more

Convenient location, has been here for years. Parking lot is close, outside drop off box but the staff is why it's only 3 stars. Unprofessional and not very friendly, seem annoyed to even be working when they should be grateful to have a job. Lots of personal conversations going on that people waiting in line should not be hearing and plenty of eye rolling when you ask any additional questions. read more

Their hours suck. They always seem to be closed & I can never get to my PO Box. I've gone during listed business hours to find it closed and when I say listed I mean the hours I was able to find online because they don't have business hours posted on their doors like most post offices. read more

San Fernando is the equivalent of the fictitious Hooterville on the old TV show Green Acres. It's a quiet, sleepy town with character and charm. This particular post office has a lot of warmth and hospitality that you feel when you go there. It's in a historic building, so it's old but very well maintained. The regulars on duty are Erin, Brenda & Renita. Occasionally there are other employees who get reassigned from Sylmar and perhaps from Mission Hills. But these three are heavy-duty professionals. You can see it in their work and in their courtesy at the counter. It's a higher level of government customer service that I'm not really used to. I've never had a bad experience with anyone who works there. Personally, I love them all because they make me feel welcome and right at home when I walk in the door. I agree with the previous posters that the parking lot can be challenging because of the way it's laid out. But parking on the street has never been a problem for me (BRING QUARTERS FOR THE METERS!) and getting in and out of the area is really a breeze. They do patrol the streets for expired meters, so save yourself a $45.00 ticket and plug the meter for a quarter. You'll thank me later for this advice. read more

Easy to find, tons of parking, no lines/efficient. Minus one star because one of the male workers around the corner sounded like he was venting or arguing with someone. Pretty loud and unprofessional. I thought he was fighting with a customer. One less star because they could do better explaining the priority mail service. Had I known I would not have used the expensive envelope that had no explanation with it. There goes an extra $6 I could have saved. read more

BRENDA IS HORRIBLE! EXTREMELY RUDE! Shorter, chubby women with brown eyes and short curly-ish hair. I came in asking questions about certified mail, that my LAWYER told me to mail, & she starts telling me "well sometimes lawyers are wrong". Then she tells me to go to the Foothill post office, I tried calling them before I called a Lyft to go over there, & they DON'T ANSWER. I walked back up to the front where Brenda and another lady was, and I NICELY asked if she could call the other post office for me, as thy weren't answering. She started being rude & said "no", so I asked "why not?" I've never been to a place where the employees couldn't call another store. She stands there, with just me in line and says "we're busy". Um, with what?! Standing there being rude to customers? She then started to turn things around. I'm DEFINITELY reporting her to the post office manager as well as having a case open with the USPS head offices. STAY AWAY FROM BRENDA! read more

Very small P.O. so depending on the time of day it may be busy and there aren't any self serve kiosks to use. However, the employee I encountered was very helpful and not salty. I went during lunch hours and only had 2 people in front of me. Good experience. read more

First time coming to this post office and the last. I came to this post office to buy stamps and little do you know this office makes the simplest mistakes which became a big problem. The person in front went to get a roll of stamps for her desk and she brought more for the next register that it was a good idea but when she put hers in her register she lost one. I payed for my stamps and when I bought them I was waiting for my stamps and the only answer she gave me was we have to audit her register. The manager was not willing to do it on the spot because he doesn't do the audit till the end of the day. The post office was lonely. No one was waiting in line or anything and by the way there was another register open so didn't see the option of not doing the audit on the spot. Now I have to wait for the afternoon or even tomorrow or the next day. So who's going to pay my gas to go there? Who's fault was it? They can even check cámaras for faster evidence but the manager said no. What kind of service do they do here if they don't work with the customer the right way. For this reason this place needs better management and better service. The manager needs to step down his position because he couldn't resolved an easy minor mistake. I pay for something that wasn't my fault so I left with no stamps. 100 stamps for $50.00. Para las personas latinas, este lugar no tiene buenos modales y no trabajan bien con los clientes. La señora que se sienta en frente le pedí unas estampillas y fue agarrar unos rollos para su registradora y por buena gente también le llevo a la registradora de a lado. Al momento que llego a su registradora se sentó y supuestamente cobró las estampas y las puso enfrente de mi. Mientras yo pague y me dio mi recibo pues estaba esperando mis estampillas y pregúntate por mis estampillas y la señora dijo que me las dio. Yo no agarre nada. La señora pidió hacer una auditoría y el manager se negó. El lugar estaba solo, no había nadie en fila para poderse negar en hacer eso, es más había otra registradora abierta pero el manager se negó. Le dije al manager que ocupaba las estampillas para ahora que podía ver las cámaras para asegurarse pero también lo negó. Que tipo de administración tienen en este lugar si no ayudan las necesidades del cliente. Lo único que pudrieron hacer fue que yo diera mi nombre y número de teléfono para cuando hicieran la auditoría que puede ser ahora en la tarde o mañana o en dos días. Ahora quien va a pagar por la gasolina para regresar otra vez, mi tiempo, no trabaje y ahora quien va a pagar todo eso. El manager de ahí no piensa en esas cosas por eso yo pido que lo pongan el otro trabajo más bajo porque no tiene la experiencia para estar encargado de algo tan pequeño como esto. 100 estampillas por $50.00 dólares y no supo como resolver un simple error. read more

The line here is typically decent. Especially if you go closer to closing time. The staff is sweet and helpful, although there is one lady who never seems to know what to do but I won't mention her name. You'll see. Parking lot sucks though! It's too tiny and confusing. Doesn't matter how you park, (they all face the same direction at an angle) you always have to reverse in so many ways to get back out. read more

Came in to look for supplies which were found right away when you make your way into the service line area. I had gotten everything I needed when the lady at the counter went above and beyond by handing me some of the things I was going to pay for free! Not that it was going to cost me an arm and a leg but I was very appreciative of her customer service. The line was short to send my package which was pretty convenient to be in and out fast. Overall, great experience at this small post office. It is also good to know that if you pay with debit card you can now get cash back. read more

Terrible post office. The darker lady that helped us was rude for no reason and gave off a strange vibe that made me think twice about leaving my package there. The person I sent the package to received it and sent me a picture showing a huge hole in the middle of the box that looks like it was kicked and then they ripped off pieces of the box that had been torn from the impact. The contents were packaged very well with a box inside of another and double bubble wrapping for the items that were inside the package. But even with all this extra padding a couple of the items inside arrived broken, it is very obvious this was done on purpose because the package had to have been hit very hard a couple of times to be able to cause this kind of damage. We are currently filing a complaint. Be very careful going to this post office. I will never use USPS again. read more

Lines are moderate to heavy depending on when you go in, its busiest around 1-3pm, I've never had a problem dropping off packages. But up until recently called them to check their options on holding mail and packages and was helped by the rudest female employee there. She completely said things as if it was common sense how their hold mail service works and blew me off. read more

Talk about SLOW! It's never really that busy but the old asian lady that always works is probably one of the slowest human beings on earth! Seriously makes me want to bang my head against the wall and slap 20 stamps on a box and hope it makes it. I feel like even the shittiest business owner would run it better than our government is. It might just be my luck but there's ALWAYS old people with 20 separate envelopes that they want separately weighed and stamped. We love the "idea" of this quaint local P.O. In San Fernando CA but there is one lady working there who, time and time again, will for no reason give us the most negative attitude. She makes us nervous and implies a lot of disgust even with her tone of voice when asked any question. I see she has been referred to in another review or two. Same woman. So it is not just us. Don't know what her personal problem is but we wish she would either just retire or change jobs not involving other people. It's very frustrating and, even though it is much less convenient to do so, this situation often causes us to drive elsewhere. I'm sure she prefers it that way too. Hate to leave such a review but, we just had to after so many times giving the benefit of doubt. Had to say something. Terrible person to have dealing with the public. Not recommended. read more

I received their PS form that i should pick up my parcel from post office from 9to5pm (clearly says on the form)...i was there at 8:52, the lady said they are open at 9 i waited another 10 minutes and asked to help me...she said that "they changed and now they are open from 10o'clock????!!!!
