I went to their site to make an appointment the following day which was frustrating but this is normally something I can easily get done (and by far, the easiest thing that has to do with my taxes). Arrived early, a nice lady sitting to the left checked me in and told me to have a seat. I was back in this familiar room, except due to the appointment system, I didn't have to pull a number deli-style like I had to in the past. It was also a lot less crowded so I guess the appointment system has some advantages. The other lady I sat down across from was also a pleasure to work with. I'm not deaf, but sometimes it's hard to hear through the glass. She was patient and funny too which always makes this experience that much better. Next January-if I remember-I'll make sure to check online to see if they are still appointment-based so I won't make the same mistake.

Call 6 times, get runaround from rude people and no one can tell me why it's denied . My friend finally figures it out, go back to the office . Their staff submitted my form incorrectly so benefits weren't going to start for several months and not when I need them to start as I am retiring soon . So have to disenroll and reenroll In Medicare , get a really off hand non apology , apology and also lied and say they tried to contact me which they didnt. If my friend hadn't figured it out I would probably still be calling or would have to postpone my retirement . Would be nice if they submitted your forms correctly and paid attention instead of rushing you out. If anyone on the 6 phone calls I made had really listened to me they should have been able to figure it out. Very upsetting and unnecessary experience. Now the waiting game again to see if it's approved... again .

I still can't believe how amazing our experience was at my husband's green card interview. From…read moresecurity to our interviewer, everyone was genuinely kind, professional, and reassuring. Going into it, it's hard not to imagine every possible negative outcome. As someone with high anxiety, I was honestly terrified and couldn't stop thinking about worst-case scenarios. But the entire process was nothing but positive. Security was friendly, the check-in staff was welcoming, and they clearly explained that there could be a wait and asked us to be patient. While we waited (15 minutes), we scrolled on our phones and chatted to pass the time. When our number was finally called, I swear it took her saying it three times before it registered I was so nervous I basically blacked out. I had prepared a full binder of evidence, and we had also uploaded over 60 documents to our account ahead of time. In the end, our interview lasted no more than 15 minutes, and we were approved on the spot. My biggest advice: be over-prepared. Bring everything bank statements, insurance, photos, travel receipts, shared bills, and anything else that shows your life together. If your relationship is real, your evidence will speak for itself.

After my wife asked him to rephrase the question and ask again he got up raised his voice and said "I don't have all day", "I am not here to teach you English" my wife speaks and understands English just fine if you speak normally without trying to intimidate her. I paid 3-4k only for the application fees to experience someone like officer Pearson. When we walked to his room he had whole bunch of files and folders on the floor and asked us to make a stop at the copier to hand him the documents so that he can copy. This increases the chances of losing original docs such as passports since there is no table to put your stuff down and organize. He was very rude from the beginning even when I asked him how was his morning going he did not answer nor he asked how are we doing. Officer Pearson just reminding you that our application fees and taxpayer dollars are paying your salary so actually you do have "all day" to be patient and interview us... On the other hand Marcy from reception was awesome and helped us to navigate after that horrible experience. The supervisor (don't remember her name) was awesome at her job to quickly problem solve and move things alone. Our second officer Campbell was incredibly amazing. She was very warm and understanding and conducted the interview at the most professional fashion. It is just heartbreaking to see that employees like Marcy and Officer Campbell are holding the USCIS experience to the highest American standards while employees like Pearson are ruining it.

This morning my lady and I used it after setting up an online appointment for the mysterious Real ID. It went smoothly and easy. Length of time about a little over an hour. Staff there always efficient , friendly and helpful. This atmosphere no matter how many people are there for appointments or walk ins is handled professionally with enough staff to accommodate needed service. Now the Real ID was created by the 911 commission to cover a stronger level of protection for all of us traveling on domestic flights. On flights outside USA you still need a passport . May 2025 was the deadline for travelers flying within the USA. So how does this work. Go online and set up an appointment and follow prompts to establish a date and time ending with a confirmation number. So what documentation do you need to take with you. You might be able to download the documents but I couldn't do that because I don't have the expertise to tackle that task. So my wife and I brought with us physical documentation of official marriage license, driver license, two statements with each of our names of auto registrations , DWP bills, Gas co bills Social Security statements, etc They need to see your name and correspondent residential address. Two For you and two different for your wife. There is a problem with for instance a copy of my birth certificate that lacked the official seal of New York. So I couldn't use it, I used something else. The extremely nice lady helped us through this maze of state paperwork. Now when all measure of documents are accepted and returned to you your next stop at another window is the certification and finger printing process . The situation now is your decision to have your new Real ID incorporated into your existing drivers license designated with an image of a golden bear and a star. I believe for a senior citizen the charge for that is around 30 dollars. Or what we did is free of charge decided to just keep our drivers license as it is and opt for a separate Real ID card. Now last window where you have your photo taken for the brand new Real ID. Make sure all the documents you came in with, go out with you. All of this done in a little over an hour. This branch is very clean, you can measure that by visiting the restroom. If you need to visit a DMV branch I would heartily recommend the Simi branch for as I believe their exceptional competency, understanding how us in our sunset years need a little more help in our getting through this experience. Can't avoid this, just get it done. You will receive Real ID in mail 3 or 4 weeks

We have a low lying spot by our garage that only floods in torrential down pour. So I'm preparing ! The two firemen that answered the bell were very friendly. (Probably a little surprised someone was actually visiting their location. ) I asked about the sandbags (as I've heard they give free sandbags out at fire stations) and they said they have the bags but no sand at this location. They gave me locations of departments that did have sand and even showed me the locations on the map. So I got my sandbags (FREE) and I'll be stopping by the next station for the sand. There's really no reason to not be prepared! Stop by your local station (or call in advanced) and give these amazing men and women who protect us, a smile and a thank you.... while picking up your free sandbags. I've lived in this area all my life and I have never been inside the firehouse. I'm glad I got to stop in, in a non emergency situation and visit. A+
