I always use USPS. 80 packages went missing from this place. I dropped off 80!!! The person working there said the scanner wasn't working. Well, over a week later and none of the packages have arrived. I went in and asked- I gave her tracking info, she said it had arrived. It didn't. When I got home and checked the tracking info it didn't say the package had arrived. I have a hard time believing she lied to my face but I don't know what to think anymore. DO NOT GO HERE. Six of one and half a dozen of another. So, this place was good because it was open and I could send a package. My problem is that as a person in a pandemic, we were packed like sardines in this postage stamped size office. It smelled of stale breath. I wish that they would have had a line outside the door because I would have patiently waited. My issue is that there were people on both sides of me in one or two lines, it wasn't clear. There were marked spaces, however, there were people lined up next to me filling out paperwork and so on. They should have had some kind of method to let people in. The only reason I stayed was because I waited until the last minute to send my letter and the El Cerrito PO on Kearny was closed. I hope to never be in a situation like this again! So, I could send my package that's the six and the situation inside was the 1/2 dozen of another. I don't want to go back here unless I have to. read more

Awesome customer service. They are always very helpful and friendly. I've never had to wait long and they have a small parking lot but plenty of street parking. The only reason for gets 4 stars and not 5 it's because it always feels like the heater is running high and I'm in a sauna. read more

This is the smallest post office I've ever been in. Any smaller and you'd be inside a mailbox. Any line here = a long line; there's usually just one employee at the counter (in my experience). Kinda messy inside. Parking is a small off-street lot, or a fight for a spot out front on the street. Why 2 stars vs 1? Because it serves a useful function when you really need it and don't have the time or conditions to go elsewhere. Otherwise, time for a remodel. read more

If you want ruin your day go here. There possibly the rudest person I have met behind the counter. Her name is MCKELVY. She was insulting and may possibly require medication. Lady at the front (Mckkelvy) was extremely rude . And when I was waiting in line she was on her phone and had me wait until she was done. However when the lady Phuong helped me she was extremely helpful and helped me fix the issues I had with my packaging. To me the other lady was just really lazy. read more

Worst post office. Went in today because I received an email saying I have new mail in my box. When I got to my box there was nothing in it (4th time this happens) I go to the counter to ask the lady what was going on? She = said that the emails I get are just letting me know that the mail was distributed this morning Me = told her then I should be receiving these daily She = said yea Me = told her that I don't receive them everyday She = said then someone there isn't scanning the boxes Me = told her so someone's not doing there job? She = said yes someone's not Me = ...... Today she was the only person there from what I saw and I didn't receive an email this morning saying the mail was put out. Could be literally, a death trap for customers. This place is the size of a camper. Was on line there yesterday. They had the floor marked with tape, but when there are people on the side at the supply self-service table, there is no physical distancing. And NO ventilation. The door was kept shut, even on a warm day. One of two (two sometimes) clerks was UNMASKED. read more

I find it interesting that there is only (1) 5-star review, and it seems to be made by an employee. Sounds pretty BIASED to me. Anyway, I must say that this USPS office is by far the WORST I have ever been to. I always try and give places a second opportunity and I have here. I will NOT be going back, unlike other people I just do not do well with rude employees and terrible costumer service. On BOTH occasions of encountering this terrible place I have done so because my USPS carrier DID NOT do their job. On BOTH occasions I have scheduled a pick up for a package and the USPS carrier did not pick up my package. I am not about to pay the difference because somebody did not do their job so I was going to deliver the package to the USPS center. The first time it was before 5 o'clock when I arrived and the guy at the counter told me that they were already closed and I had to go to the USPS shipping center in Richmond. When I got to the shipping center that was already closed but one of the USPS drivers took my package anyway thank you driver. That was my first bad experience how do you close before five if you're supposed to close at 5 o'clock? The second time I went just a few days ago I encountered nobody there when I arrived. African-American old lady with glasses was behind the counter. She just stared at me I wasn't sure if she was mute or something because I did not get any greeting. She literally stared right through me. So I walked up to her and explain the situation that my USPS carrier did not pick up my package and she just said well place it over there and I was like well I have a card to she's like oh I'll take that. That is by far the rudest thing I have ever encountered anywhere. Even the DMV and Social Security office do a better job at that. I live about two blocks now from this USPS center and I will not be returning I rather drive back to the USPS center in North Berkeley where are used to live to have them sent out my packages. If I could give them zero stars are negative one I would but since yelp does not allow me to do that I have to give them one star. I don't not recommend this USPS the center to anyone. They simply need to hire people who provide good customer service I do not understand how someone could work for the USPS And not have a basic manners. You work with people every single day you have to talk to people all the time I simply do not get it. I have actually filed about three complaints before about USPS customer service and I have seen absolutely nothing done and either one of those cases. I wish all USPS centers were like the one by my house in North Berkeley and all USPS carriers were like the one I had in my Berkeley home. Just avoid this USPS center what more can I possibly say. There are more negative reviews here than anything I think that says a lot about that center it says a lot about people who have not left more negative reviews as I am sure there are more. If there were positive reviews on here out weighing the negative ones then that would make sense but the only one that's positive on here is clearly an employee. read more

Went here before Christmas and could not send a package because they were out of some form/supply they needed. Slow service.

I went to the post office with my sister in law. This place looks really run down. The parking is behind a fence where people are asking for money. When I went inside with my sister in law and waited on the side, I had my phone in my hand and took a photo of my son with his toy that he just got from my sister in law. The lady behind the counter screamed for me to stop taking photos in the post office, as if I was taking a photo of something private. When I looked up confused she said again, "no photo in the post office!" Is that a real thing? I am curious. There was no sign. I guess that it is also not what you say but how you say it. I have been here before and the experience has been okay, just run down. The counter people often complain about each other in front of customers, or even about certain customers while they are in line. I know that the job is not easy, but golly, would be nice if they wore more smiles. On top of it, they once lost my package. I had paid to have a package intercepted but it got all messy, instead. It tracked to their location but never delivered and when I called several times, no answer. I finally called the USPS 1-800 number and they confirmed that the package should have arrived and finally someone called me back. They told me to wait 4 weeks and call them back as there was nothing they could do and does not matter what I paid for and what was agreed to. Alright. Good, now you get bad reviews for acting so ghetto. read more

The store is messy and they don't have a lot of things that other post office have. My biggest problem is how the staff treat you, their customer service is very poor. In my opinion these people make a decent pay for them to be acting all bitter towards us the customers. read more

I am shocked to come here and find these low ratings. This is by far the best post office I've experienced. I'm there a lot, because I have a business that requires me to send packages regularly. Rarely is there a line, and if there is one, this is the only post office I know of that if another employee is behind the counter they will actually open another register. Lines tend to be just at lunchtime or near the December holidays, and last briefly. When the line is very long, I just usually go do another errand and come back later and then it is nice and quiet again. The workers have been nothing but friendly, and I have talked to them a lot as I've needed to figure some things out for my business. read more

It's a shame these folks complaining about the Post Office, but yet you keep coming back. Why go somewhere and spend your money and you're not happy with the service, deep down you know the service is fine you probably had a bad experience on that one day, customers too must check their attitude because sometimes they want things done their way and it's not the Post Office policy. 98% of my customers "Love me and my service I render to them" and when you talk about an employee you should make sure you spell their name correctly, employees just work there we don't own the USPS if you have a problem or issue there is a customer complaint number. Mira Vista is one of the BEST post office in Richmond and the clerks are very knowledgable in what they do! read more
