This US postal branch is responsible for fixing the broken lock on our condo's mailbox that since they have a master key. it's been 3 weeks and they have not done it, nor posted a notice on the mailbox that we have to go to their branch to pick up our mail. The main complaint I have about this place is the hours. They are open for about four hours daily or so and if you are working, that means you have to arrive on a Saturday, where they are open for three hours. But they are our main post office so here is the good, the bad, and the ugly. The good is that they held our mail for about two years because our HOA management company sucked. They did this again after the below-mentioned unhonored vacation hold and they held our mail. I got to know the woman working there and although she knew my name, she insisted on seeing my ID which I really appreciated. Too many shady folks running around and I totally understood. The bad is that they got tired of holding the mail and delivered it one day without notice. They know that we have a history of theft and don't consistently deliver packages to our units as we've requested and they've promised. They have left some big packages in the lobby and thieves walking by, are very much tempted. They also left a medical package for me in front of my unit, although I've asked them to deliver it to a neighbor who is always at home. The ugly is that they didn't honor one of my vacation holds and my mail was stolen. And it was a hold that I put in early. They also deliver mail to broken mailboxes. I have the USPS service where they tell me what mail is coming, however, I don't always receive it. My box is empty for days. When I finally called someone, they said that sometimes the package will arrive days after it's supposed to. Really?!? I've had so many issues, that I had their direct number which they answered the first time I called. After that the phone rings and rings and rings, which means that I have to go up and talk to the manager. I didn't get mail for almost a month in my box, no burglaries (nothing on the camera) and when I went there, they told me that even when I get a notification from them that I have mail coming that it still may not be delivered for a week. So what's up with the daily notifications when it doesn't mean anything? Something is up with them. Another issue is that they are responsible for delivering our mail. We have a post office that is closer to us and they have more hours in which they are open, however, they provide a place to send mail, buy stamps, and have a neighborhood post office. They are closer to my home and would be a better choice. read more

I just wish my mail man could deliver my packages to the right address. THREE more packages this week were 'delivered' according to the tracking info, but I never got them. I have had this happen a few times before and I learned that my neighbors who must have received the packages instead do not return mail that does not belong to them. Plus the post office can apparently do nothing once the packages are listed as 'delivered', so I just lost another couple of hundred dollars worth of packages. They literally have one job, just to put the packages in the right mailbox. I think I will have to have my mail held at the post office and collect it myself, since I can't rely on the post office to deliver it to my address. My package was delivered. The key to the package locker was in my mailbox, but it was bent and I couldn't get the package locker open. I called the Hilltop Carrier Annex. A person answered the phone immediately and got in touch with the mail carrier for me. The mail carrier offered to meet me at the package locker in 20 minutes. Meanwhile my husband came home and got the key to work. He brought the package into the house. I called the Annex back, got the same lady on the phone and was able to tell them the problem was solved. I thanked them for the terrific response and service. This place is a joke! I have 2 bumpers to be sent off, got it weighed and measured and everything ready to be shipped off. Then I go the next day and Julian gives me the run around saying he can't ship my package even though it was already approved and ready to go the day before. Julian was very unprofessional saying "let me do my job." Sucks that I got two different interactions. Mailboxes at my condo complex got vandalized a few days ago. So mail is not being delivered to this location, nor is the mailbox being repaired. I had an EXTREMELY important package (package that contains papers required to start my new job) that was supposed to be delivered to me by Friday, at the latest according to the USPS people. This is an important package that I needed by this upcoming Tuesday morning by 8am. Friday came and went, no package. Saturday, I wait ALL morning and left when there seemed to be no sign of the package, I decided to go run a couple important errands before the day got TOO far away from me. Of course, I come back about an hour later, and there was a notice that an attempt was made to deliver my package. Figures. Sunday, I knew there was nothing I can do about it and Monday (today) being president's day, I attempted to call this Post Office (where my package is being held) to see if they were open. Someone picked up, I asked if there were open and the man on the phone said "No" and immediately hung up. I called back promptly and politely said "I'm sorry, I just called and I just..." before I even got to explain my situation, he said "There's nothing that can happen". How rude!! The is a wooden door that seems boarded up and a sign written in marker across it that reads "knock on door the door bell is broken " then when you knock on the door they don't answer and / or you wait. I went to pick up a package at this office because the mailman(reserve) didn't bother to Knock or ring my doorbell and not even leave a notification slip. Just found out by app notification when I went to check on status of my of my package. Waited in line for over 45 minutes just before closing time. Lady at pickup counter was to lazy to look for my package and told me to come back the next morning. The package counter was just 10 feet from her. Saying the mailman hasn't come back yet and they no longer ring or knock because of Covid. I told her my regular mail lady always knocks or rings the doorbell when I get a package. I also told her I was a mailman myself and quit with the BS. I told her I also knock or ring the doorbell when I have a package that requires a signature as all carriers are told. All the mailman were coming back when I was waiting in line along with a dozen other customers. I just hope my package is there when I return tomorrow. It's an expensive package worth over $1400. Two people ahead of me also came to pick up their packages, and I told them they might not get their packages, sure enough they didn't get it. Worst post office ever. read more

This USPS could be so much better, I've been to plenty of postal service offices before and not one with the customer service they provide here, there is this African American woman who seems to have lost pride in her job or maybe she is mad at life or she hates her job but at the end of the day she IS getting payed to do a job so if she doesn't like it or doesn't enjoy the job she shouldn't be working with customers, worse attitude I've seen when it comes to customer service in a long time, I work with customers myself and if I behaved the way she does I wouldn't last too long because I would get fired for that behavior I did talk to a supervisor and he said he would talk to her but her attitude never changed she is as rude as she can and customers pay the price, she is diminishing the hard work of other employees with that attitude because she gives a bad name to the USPS and her coworker and even other USPS employees. read more

I am always treated with respect (and give them respect). Mail in Richmond sucks. Two years ago I moved and couldn't get my mail forwarded. I called and wrote letters and all I was told was that the mail was being forwarded. When I told them I knew it wasn't because the people at my old address called and told me I had a crap-load of mail for me to come and pick-up, they assured me they'd look into it. They didn't. I had to fill out new forwarding forms and finally, that fixed it. Now I'm back, living in Richmond and people have been calling me to say that their mail to me is being returned. I also received a notice on my door to pick up a package and when I got to Hilltop, they told me there was no package for me and the notice was probably left by mistake. Right now there is HIGH THEFT going on at this post office and the customer service is NOT good. I sent a package & it was marked as wrong address, I knew then something was up. So now all of sudden they can't find my package & the last time it was scanned was when it was marked as wrong address & I scheduled redelivery right away. You they redelivered it? No... Please call & file a claim with postal Inspection 1-877-876-2455 as well as a claim online, this is how that handle the matter the proper Federal way when you call postal inspection. I like my regular postman. He make sure I get my packages. I usually see him in my security camera walking up the stairs before he knock on my wall. If the security gate is locked and I'm not available he has my permission to slide them under the gate onto the porch. Today i found a (Sorry We Missed You) pink slip in my mail box. He came earlier than usual and I missed him (My Bad). The package required my signature otherwise he would've slid it under the gate as usual. It pays to be kind, respectful, & appreciative to your mail carrier. FYI . If you are expecting important packages tell your mail carrier or leave them a note taped to your box in advance. If you track the package and see he/she attended delivery and it's still during business hours. Call your local post office and explain the urgency. They can call the mail carrier and have him/her return with your package before ending their shift. read more

No guarantee on redelivery. I missed a registered package at my home and went to the usps website to arrange a redelivery for the next day, received a confirmation email and everything. I waited ALL DAY at home the next day. Package never arrived. I went to the post office the next day and was told the supervisor never passed the redelivery notice along to the postman - no explanation given. Worst. Every time I request a vacation hold it never gets accomplished correctly. They never, in the 4-5 times now I've done a hold, deliver the mail on the date the hold ends. I have to call to ask where is my mail. On the times that I've requested for them to hold it at the post office, they send it out for delivery. The problem with that is if you're not home when they knock at the door, you have to wait another day and sit home to make sure you get your mail. Evidently, they don't pay attention to dates or requests of what to do with the mail when you return. So when you return from vacation, instead of the mail being there to pick up you have to jump through hoops to retrieve it. read more
