I got in before a short line of three waited behind me and was all done in short order. Passport docs ( a lot of them for Europe; mailing envelopes; etc. all taken care of expeditiously. Even my request for a large, stiff envelope was met with great patience and a smile. The man behind the counter remained pleasant, attentive and smiling throughout this ordeal of multiple docs to mail internationally. He advised me too on the least expensive method ( but a tracked mailing method) too. I'll def go here vs elsewhere next time. I waited about 10 minutes, then asked, "Hi, are either of you free?" One ignored me completely, and the other just walked to the back without saying a word. A bit later I asked again and got a "hold on" while they kept texting. Meanwhile, there was only one other customer the entire time and three people up front for about 20 minutes. At one point, another customer came in, and they went ahead and helped the person behind me while still ignoring me. Nothing dramatic happened, it was just clear they weren't interested in helping. If you're okay with being an interruption to someone's phone time, this might be your spot. I'll go somewhere else next time.

They accept all kinds of packages from all mailers (USPS, UPS, FedEx) - an incredible boon if you're like me and are enrolled in one too many wine clubs! Finally adult signature is not an issue. All of the employees we've worked with have gone above and beyond too. Once we stopped in right after closing to see if a package was small enough to be in our mailbox. It wasn't and as I was whining that we'd have to come back for our package, one of the staff in the back said he'd grab it for us and brought it outside. He didn't need to do that, and we would have come back the next day! But it meant a lot to both of us that he heard us chatting and wanted to help us out, even as he was closing up. We also recently had to get a bunch of things notarized and once again You Send Me had us covered. We were able to get all four of our documents notarized at once quickly and efficiently, while making some pleasant conversation with the staff. Everyone who works there is such a gem. I'm glad we have this in our little north Berkeley enclave.

I called Monday and spoke to Niko I believe, and she was so welcoming. I didn't make it that day, but came in Tuesday and I think they are sisters, but Melinda was working. Not only did she go above and beyond to help my little confused self. She was such a pleasant person to interact with, straight forward, honest and awesome. And honestly, I could have hung out there longer than I needed to be. On top of that, every person that entered the premises was so chill and you could just feel the welcoming atmosphere. I even bought socks and an amazing wristband that my daughter is now wearing. I think you who I am Melinda, but for sure I am coming back and I have more stories. Dan gave a quote of $1200 for packaging, shipping, and pick up/delivery combined, but told me that would probably be an overestimate (b/c I overestimated the weight). While that's on the high end for this kind of service (with no white glove movers involved) I was told that paying this would ensure delivery by 5-6 days after pickup. First, the reasons for the low rating: what actually happened is that they tried to charge us $1275 for a delivery that took *three weeks*. After complaining about the delay during the process, they only refunded $100 of that amount. Dan always answered the phone when I called to check up on what was happening, but he was either misleading me throughout or wasn't bothering to properly check up on the delivery status. After an initial delay of several days, he continually made false promises about how soon it would arrive, while reminding me of how it was "out of his hands." Once I finally got the contact info for the shipping company from him, I suddenly got a very clear answer that ended up being accurate. However, as the delay caused the couch to arrive when I was at work, and all that money didn't even cover help in getting the couch up to our fourth-floor apartment, the couch was left sitting outside in the rain until I could make it home. I'm just grateful that the super of my building graciously helped to move the couch in once I did. Now, the reason that I rate my experience as a 2.5 instead of a 1: the couch did arrive in perfect condition. Ultimately, that is the most important thing, and is the reason that I was willing to pay a bit over a grand for the service. Dan was always available on the phone during the process, and it does appear to be true that the delay was the fault of YRC Freight. However, the large delay would not have caused such a headache if Dan been able to provide reliable updates on how soon the package would be arriving. I also never forgot about the fact that he initially led me to expect $1200 to be a substantial overestimate of the cost. In the end, I should not have had to pay the $1175 that I did for something that turned into such a hassle.
