Normally, this spot is adequate. It's small, but it's usually a fine spot to drop off packages. The last few times, they've been on lunch, they've been on break, it's always been something and then when the employee comes back, he is less than helpful. Yes, my boxes weren't correct - but don't charge me $5 to use some of your packing tape. I get it, I get it, you're a business... but like customer service and being helpful is appreciated. I'd prefer not to make this spot part of my routine, but we'll see as it's most convenient to my houuse. read more

I went to this location's website to make an appointment for live scan. I was able to book an appointment for later in the day. I received a confirmation of my appointment and then a few minutes later my appointment was canceled. I called the store and no one answered. I waited a few minutes and called back. I asked the person on the phone if they do live scan and was told not today. When I asked when it could be completed, the person on the phone said "Maybe next week" I would not recommend this location for live scan services. read more

This UPS charges you for the print per page AND charges you $3 regardless of whether you email the pdf/shipping label to be printed, or you go to the computer and you print it out yourself, for a total of $3.50 per page before tax. Stopped by to get a live scan fingerprint done and it was very efficient! Not all UPS places offer this and I didn't even have to make an appointment. The guy who helped me out was super safe and nice. He was also detailed in explaining how to do it correctly, wiped everything down before and after use, and directed me to the hand sanitizer after I had scanned my fingerprint. read more

Do not recommend going to this location at all. I was rudely told that it was my fault for not fully enclosing the package (didn't know it was a crime to not have packing tape readily available in my home...) and that I would "definitely have to pay to ship" a return product that the vendor had already paid for. Stick to FedEx (free packing services for already-paid-for returns, within reason of course) or any other UPS location, this place utterly S U C K S. Edit (Aug. 3rd, 2022): for clarification, the only thing that my package needed was a SINGLE piece of tape on top (my monitor was fully protected with foam and carboard, and everything was properly packed in a large box). You'll definitely find more amiable and serviceable people/managers at other packing companies. It's ridiculous to charge someone $5 for a single piece of tape, especially when the full price for shipping was already paid. Definitely one start, I would give zero star if I could. We had a very important document which needs to be notarized in Berkeley and send back to Seattle to the recipient. We chose to deliver to this location, and meet the notary person at this store, so we can notarize the doc and send back to Seattle immediately. We chose the fastest delivery which is expected to deliver to this place at 8 am on 02/24, when the store is expected to open, and we will meet with notary person at 8 am at the store as well so we can get the doc notarized immediately when it's delivered. However, on 02/24/2022, this location didn't open at 8 am, we and the notary person waited here for 40 min until the store is opened by a UPS staff (yes, 40 min delay for the opening hour!). What's worse is that since the store is not open when the package is delivered, the package is marked as first attempt failed and will be delivered to this location the next day, which will not meet our timeline. We tried to contact the delivery person to come to the store again but the ups staff cannot help with it. At last, the document is not delivered on 02/24/2022, and we couldn't get the doc notarized and send back to Seattle, we have to by a flight ticket to Seattle and notarize another copy of the document to meet the deadline, which is really stressful and frustrating. I believe being punctual is critical for UPS's business, especially for urgent delivery in our case. If UPS cannot keep the promise to the customers, it's a huge damage to the reputation and will loose business. I hope the company can do better job next time if you got the chance. read more

If you can help yourself, don't bother coming here! There is always an issue! The owner can't seem to keep reliable staff, nor provide relief for the staff on duty, to eve have a meal break. Staff must close the store to eat. Ridiculous! I've had a box here for almost 3 years. I am currently looking for a new one. I paid for something to delivered 2 day air and when it was delivered, there was no one there to receive it at 11 am. Very rude woman at the counter. I had a next day air package to ship and she gave me an attitude when I asked her if it would be picked up on a Sunday. I handed her the box and she told me they they only ship items in boxes purchased at their store. OK fine. I just needed it shipped so I said OK to the $5.99 charge for a box. Then she told me it would be an extra $3.99 to print the label I had already purchased and another $8.99 to tape the box. I have called the store repeatedly and they tell me they will look into this and get back to me. I've been told 8 times they will get back to me and they never do. This business clearly has no intent of addressing this in good faith. There is also a charge for FRG service for $51.88. The UPS store won't even tell me what this is for. First of all, there is only one person who works there and takes lunch time and let customers wait for more than half hour and come back; second of all, the person who works there doesn't know what she is talking about, I spent half of hour in scanning two pages of paper and end up having zero output! Was forced to come to this location after I sat for 1/2 hour waiting for the Shattuck location to open on Monday May 11 (never did... I'm going to presume it's closed). I had a pre-labeled box to drop off but I didn't tape it shut because I don't have clear packing tape (although I have a myriad of other adhesives I could have used, but just didn't because I ASSUMED they'd spare me ONE piece of tape). Anthony, the miserable douche that was working that day said that it would cost me $3 to tape my box shut. With 1 piece of tape. Now, I don't want to get my other UPS store in trouble for fear that this is UPS store's actual policy, but TYPICALLY when I'm in a rush and don't have time to tape my box shut, multiple other locations I've been to are happy to just hand me a piece of packing tape (often they'll just have a roll out up front). I said, "Really? One piece of tape?" To which Anthony coldly nodded. I mean, if that were me, I'd make up some friendly excuse, like "I used to tape up boxes when they were just quickies, but my manager got mad at me. It's a lame policy but I'm so sorry." I mean, that's what I would say. Spare me your douchey cold head nod. I swear the people who work here are bitter with their lives. It was my first time sending a package to be shipped, so I'm obviously unfamiliar with the process. The guy working there with the beanie was the most rude and mind numbingly slow person. He thought I was just being a frustrating customer when I was asking questions, and when I asked for clarification, he said things in a slower way as if that was to help me understand. Obviously if someone doesn't understand your explanation you try to phrase it in a different way.... Trying to brush off all encounters, I paid and left as quickly as I could because there is no reason to be getting as mad as he was for someone asking questions. I have a tendency to repress bad memories so the receipt is no where to be found... Which is bad on my part. The person I was sending a package to never received it and when I called this location they said, "they can't help me without a receipt and no one ever leaves without one in UPS." So if you happen to lose your receipt somehow, remember you're SOL because they will adamantly refuse to help you. Oddly enough they ask for your phone number and email address AND home address and despite all that personal info, you STILL can't get a damn tracking number. They are obstinate and refuse to help and can't give any explanations further than they poor manual of phrases they receive from their 3 hour training. Don't bother with these incompetent people and the things that are important and need to be shipped. If these people hate their jobs so much I can only imagine how their managers treat them, yikes.
