Printing anything is a $5 fee then additional per copy. You can go around the corner and print labels for 23cents (1 minute walk). Would recommend just going to the FedEx around the corner for cheaper prices and better service read more

I called this store to make certain that they would box a return of equipment I had to my ISP for free. They told me they would do the packaging. But when I arrived with the electronics that needed to be returned, they said the boxing charge would be $6.50. I explained that I was relying on what I was told on the phone. Worst ups employees out of all the ups locations in the area!!! Snobbish people and any Amazon return typically don't need to be taped at other location, you will be asked to pay for it here because they feel they have the right to charge you for packing the box. I would avoid this location and go to the other ones in the area if you want to save your money and energy try to reason with them!! read more

I've been here a few times out of necessity for faxing, returning online purchases, and the occasional copies. Parking anywhere in Berkeley is non-existent. However there's a parking lot for customers on the College Avenue westbound easement. The entrance is around the corner on Alcatraz. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. I've used the UPS access point option for quite a while now without much issue, until recently. The last few packages I went in to pickup and was told I shipped them there directly instead of requesting an access point, which I definitely did not. The company I ordered from had a UPS access point option and that's what I selected. Today I was told I have to pay a $10 pickup fee to get my package which is ridiculous. I ended up refusing delivery; why would I pay to pickup a package that was shipped to me for free? If you use this service I would be aware that sometimes you'll be able to get your package without issue, but sometimes you will be told it was shipped incorrectly and have to pay a fee or they'll push you to open a mailbox with them. I called the company I ordered from and they said the order was shipped via access point. Not sure where the disconnect is but I won't be using the access point option again. read more

Called to find out the store hours during shelter in place. Obviously this is an essential service, and obviously nobody can get anything without having it shipped, so UPS is critical right now. Amazingly, the folks who work here are short and snippy and rude. I got hung up on before I could even ask my question - twice. I totally understand that everyone is stressed out... all of us are. Kindness counts for a lot right now, so while all of us should be extra-kind to our UPS professionals, I'm hoping our UPS pros can be kind to us. read more

UPDATE: I finally received a resolution to the issue I had previously posted about here regarding Amazon returns I had returned at this UPS location, and I was eventually credited for all 5 Amazon orders I returned (a little over 30 days after I returned them). What I cannot tell you is WHO is responsible for resolving this issue, as I had to submit questions not only to all 5 of the Amazon sellers from whom I had originally purchased these items but also then submit 5 inquiries to Amazon for each separate item that I had not received reimbursement. Within about 4-6 days, I received notification from Amazon that I had been credited for all 5 items for which I had made an inquiry. NOTE: I returned 6 items at this UPS location all at the same time, and was only credited for 1 of the items I returned on that day. The other 5 items took over a month and inquiries to both the sellers and Amazon as to why I had not been credited. I still do not know what happened or who resolved this issue, although I suspect that Amazon just ate the loss. I'll explain. I do know that once I returned these 6 items, my Amazon account never reflected any information that suggested that this UPS store had begun the process of returning the items (again, over 21 days AFTER I had visited their store to return my purchases), or even that they had received them. That is a major red flag, like every other Amazon return I have ever done at any other retailer IMMEDIATELY reflects that my return has been processed and I will be receiving credit back to my account once Amazon receives the items. After writing my original review here on Yelp, which was over 3 weeks have I had visited this store and given them my returns (and watched the clerk scan them and take them to a back room....yet also tell me and others that he could not issue us a receipt), I then reached out to the seller's to ask them if they were aware of any return. The sellers told me to reach out to Amazon directly. I submitted inquiries directly to Amazon (5 individual inquiries, one for each item in question) and within a week, Amazon notified me that I had received credit for all 5 items. NOTE: The day before I received notification from Amazon and credit for all 5 items, my Amazon return status for all 5 items in question was still showing that I could "print a return label". Again, I have never had this issue when returning items with other retailers, so I suspect that Amazon just took the loss on these items. I will not be using this location again. Instead, I will be driving over to Kohl's in Alameda for all Amazon returns even though I only live a few blocks away from this location. I cannot comment on this location with regard to UPS packages or services. I do appreciate that they had their operating hours updated during the pandemic to reflect their actual operating hours. The clerk who processed my return was also very nice, as far as his demeanor was concerned. read more

Shipping broken laptop back to manufacturer. Manufacturer provided label. This UPS charged $50 to pack it and "labor." After being charged, I asked if I just found an old box around the house, threw it in there, and gave to UPS, it wouldn't have cost anything? Person at UPS said "yeah." Thanks for your transparency. I returned a small Amazon package here two weeks ago. The process seemed smooth, I told them I was here for an Amazon return, they scanned my code from the Amazon return information, confirmed I didn't need to box it up, and I left. I checked back into my Amazon account and the return was never received. Did the person in the store forget to send it? Steal the package? Not scan the code properly and didn't catch it? I needed to print a return label and send out a package today. Normally you can print at a UPS store by logging into their computer and paying 10 cents per page. When I was there the computer was broken though, so the only option was emailing them the return label to have it printed... which apparently has a $3 service fee. So to print my one page it would be $3.10! Don't penalize the customer for your own broken equipment! Any other store would have offered to waive the $3 service fee given the broken computer. read more

These guys have really grown on me! I've come in for lots of shipping needs (Zappos returns, to be exact) but recently I needed to get some forms notarized and was in a big hurry. Like, I was rushing to catch a plane AND trying to get some time-sensitive closing docs in before I left. These guys really came to my rescue, and took care of everything thoroughly and calmly and I was on my way faster than I could have hoped. I like that the shop is small and easy to get in and out of. It has a friendly neighborhood feel and I like seeing the same guys every time I go in. Though there's no parking lot, I can always find plenty of street parking on Alcatraz and the side streets nearby. Plus, you can hit up other errands while you're in the area - grab some Peet's Coffee, a sammie at Southie, or a cone at Tara's Ice Cream. I love this 'hood. read more

I wish I could give them negative stars. 1. I got there at 5:40 and Sakhon, the UPS employee manning the store at the time, was locking up. I asked if they were closed, since I ran over when I saw on yelp that they close at 6. Sakhon begrudgingly replies that he can help me. I feel guilty but they're not supposed to be closed and I really need to send my documents so I follow him in. 2. I picked up a manila envelope to ship my documents in but Sakhon says I need to use a different one..which I later learned costs $5 dollars...why would you sell envelopes that your clients can't use??? 3. After about 10 minutes of punching stuff into the computer, Sakhon says the address I'm trying to send to isn't working. I take back the print out of the address I handed to him and read it aloud. Sakhon then says the address is now working, not admitting that he put the wrong address in. 4. Sakhon says it'll cost $15+ to send my docs. I say this is insane, plus I have to use his $5 envelope!? 5. Earlier, Sakhon had asked if I wanted to send my docs via UPS or USPS. I was confused, since I was at a UPS store after all, but asked which was cheaper. Sakhon replied that UPS was cheaper, which is why I proceeded to send my docs via UPS. Now, pissed off Sakhon tells me to go to the post office tomorrow since USPS is cheaper. read more

I've had a box here over two years. No issues until last week. I was not getting email notifications for all the packages that were delivered. Then they couldn't find some of the packages. They were not logged in and stored in the right area. The staff apologized and said they are training new people. But no one seems to be back checking them. I now hesitate to drop off any Amazon returns or have them receive packages. And I'm not renewing after my contract expires. They are going to lose things with this haphazard system. read more

To which I replied, "I have a drop off" and he interrupted and said, "THAT'S not essential!" firstly small dick, you don't know WHAT'S in my package (he never asked) and secondly it IS essential that I send this package to get money back as I am on unemployment due to COVID. This is the worst UPS store. Anytime I go in there is a problem. Employees that are clueless and completely unhelpful. A long line. I didn't have the time to go to the one on Telegraph where they are polite, helpful and courteous. I went back here because it was convenient - NOT! They delivered a severely damaged package, I did not open it and they didn't want to tape it back up to be returned. This store is run by a bunch of stoned Cal students that have no idea what they're doing. I sent two Christmas packages to the same address. One made it, the other didn't. Package was returned to this store. There was nothing wrong with the package, the address, etc. It was driver error. When I came into the store to get the package, it was a complete MESS! Packages everywhere, total chaos. Took them forever to even find my package in that pigsty. The customer service I received was BEYOND poor. They wouldn't re-ship it without charging me AGAIN for their driver's mistake. The idiots running the place had no idea how to give me a refund, were unsure of who to even ask. They seriously need a babysitter for the moronic children "working" there. I'll never do business here again. Do yourself a favor and use the FedEx across College Ave. Clean store, and it is run by actual adults! read more

This has to be the worst UPS store in the Bay. We called ahead of time to see if our package was dropped off there (we had received a slip but misplaced it, so weren't sure). The employee on the line kept asking the same question - "Did you see your package was tracked to here?" to which we were continuously tried to explain that we had gotten a slip that said it was being delivered to that location. He eventually said "I have to put you on hold, I have 10 customers here" to which he put us on hold for 10 minutes and then hung up on us. We tried calling again and the phone just kept ringing. On September 15, I dropped a package with expensive headphones, a suit and some shoes my son had left behind when moving to LA. I insured the headphones and asked for a signature. I was assured it would arrive on the 19th at the EARLIEST, if not later "because of Covid" (I actually had the employee repeat that information). 1. The package was "delivered" two days earlier (on the 17th) 2. The "driver" (doubtful it was ever in the hands of a driver) conveniently signed in the place of my son because "they" deemed the package to be at the correct address and safely delivered". 3. Well, there was no package ever delivered at my son's address. My son was home at the time of "its supposed delivery", no one knocked or went up the stairs. He did not expect the package at the time but he has proof he opened his front door 25 minutes after its "delivery" and there was no package at the door. To this day, my package has been considered as "lost" or maybe "stolen from where it was delivered". I filed a complaint but never got an apology or an explanation. "The package was delivered, we don't know where it is, not my fault" was the answer! After reading the reviews, I see I am not the only one in this situation!! UPS, you'd do well to investigate on these "lost" packages a bit more thoroughly. I am not sure what you all will do but I will certainly never go back to UPS and especially not at their Alcatraz branch. They lost my trust. read more
