absolutely worst and rudest service. genuinely so unbelievable they would speak to customers in such horrible tone. the owner was condescending and spoke to me as if i was a child. i called when they were close to closing and asked if it was still possible to come in, they said yes. i came and asked for a single printed 13" by 21" picture and some cardboard. i explained to them my vision: i wanted a cut out of my friends face for graduation. they said they couldn't cut around and could only do cropping which was fair. i told them i can just cut around it myself. i asked for cardboard but they offered me styrofoam without letting me know it was extra. they kept cutting me off and asked questions that intentionally made me feel as if i wasn't taken serious. for one print and styrofoam, the associate originally entered $2.75 but the manager cut off our interaction and told him to charge me $20... for ONE PRINT and STYROFOAM. the pricing felt like they held a personal grudge against me. even if it was a "squeeze charge", they should have informed me there was going to be an additional cost be before i came in. having 10x increase does not sit well with me and ruined my entire experience here. they did not NEED to accommodate my request of coming in late, yet when they were helping me it felt like i was a burden. don't accept business when u don't want to work-- it's that simple. my recommendation is to take whatever u need someplace else. never coming back. read more

Even if I leave the Berkeley area I would order from here again. The prints were so much better than what I got at kinkos which was double the price. Support your neighborhood shops. Last weekend, on a rainy Saturday morning, I needed (quickly) a color print and lamination of a photo needed for my mother's health care (at assisted living). One place I contacted need a few days, then I called Elmwood copy. Amir was friendly and super helpful, he said "email me the print and I will get it done today." Within minutes of my emailing, he called to say he'd have it done in 5 minutes (which was sooner than I could even get over there)! The rudest customer service. I asked which color printer he had because I'm looking for something higher quality than the color laser I have at home to do proofs for a print job. He got upset that I would ask that -- when I asked again he spit out the name of the his Canons. I asked is one better than the other. Again, super-annoyed I would ask and gave no answer. I asked him to print just one page first of my files so I could take a look. He printed all of them. When I asked him why he said "It doesn't matter! You don't like it you don't pay." Okaayyyyy. Maybe he was peeved because he probably gets a ton of little jobs like that and feels like it's a waste of his time for a couple dollars. Fine but if that's the case then don't offer the service! Also, people who do little jobs sometimes come back with larger ones. Not me though! read more

It's hard to find a printing store like Elmwood anymore, personalized service, new high-quality machines, at a great price. And the owner improves my ideas and designs. I do lots of work with the public, I have a book with a New York Times book review, and Elmwood Printing helped make this happen, he helped me do beautiful marketing and create packages to send to publishers/lectures/classes. I love this local business! I also have a garden business and print items for my customers-Elmwood makes my personal home office so much easier. Quick and great prices! I needed to get a syllabus and ebook printed and bound for a course I'm taking. Amir was kind enough to print the cover in color even tho I only requested B&W for the file since it's mostly text, put the syllabus after the ebook cover but before the text (perfect), and got it done in about 30 mins from when I emailed the files. I had also called copy central who needed 24 hours for turn-around and was going to charge me about $20 more (with no cover color). This is definitely the spot for getting anything printed and bound! read more
