Really can't beat this neighborhood place. They are responsive, reliable, helpful and easy to work with. All of my print jobs take very little time (almost always same day, sometimes even same hour!) and they always look great. I was having particular trouble printing something I designed in Canva and they worked with me until I got the coloring just as I wanted. Last week we had them print newsletters created by little kids. The online spot they designed them in did not come in time for their publishing party. Grand Copy Center saved the day for these kids (and it looked 10x better than where they usually get them printed). First off there is a $10 minimum purchase for anything that you need here which is a little annoying for somebody who doesn't need a ton of copies regularly. The other thing is that the service is fairly slow. They are nice people, but the quality that you get back is not great. Because my classmates were asking about tickets for the event, two of us on the committee decided to visit Rajiv the owner of Grand Copy Center to check on the status. He had the tickets ready for us. I was still waiting for the flyers to be printed. My classmate met me at Grand Copy to finish the draft of the flyer on their computer. The business has two desktop computers to use for finishing up a draft of a document. There is a fee if one uses the computer for an hour. Grand Copy also does banners in three different sizes, custom made tee shirts, paper shredding, post cards, etc. I have to admit I receive better service of copy work from this small business compared to big box store such as Office Max. Rajiv is approachable and personable when assisting customers. He is also efficient in handling numerous tasks and projects for his customers. When two of my classmates and I were there, he took care of our needs - both tickets and flyers were done. I thanked him for his extreme patience with us. It was a job well done. They confirmed and recommended just calling before going to confirm notary's hours (they're usually there M-F 11am-4pm). I showed up, got my one document signed for $15. I needed a document notarized, so I called a few places. Grand Copy Center answered the phone right away, let me know the price, and when a notary was available. I arrived, and everything was super straight forward. Friendly service, expedient, what more could I ask for? I didn't get any copying services done, so I can't speak to those services, but their equipment seemed new, functional, and I didn't realize how many services they provide, including banners, etc. If I ever need any of those things, I will certainly return. read more

I needed an alternate cover printed and substituted for the original and also a couple of the internal pages replaced -- little bit complicated, enough that I was worried that it might not have come out exactly right -- and they nailed it. I ordered business cards from here for my company and had no issues doing so. Only thing is that the cards were delayed and nobody let me know before I stopped by the shop. So I had to come back for them, but otherwise it was good customer service and I'm happy with the way the cards came out! I usually try to leave positive reviews but I just want to make a note about what I experienced here last week. First off, 5/5 in terms of responsiveness and print quality! I emailed them (@info@grandcopycenter.com) at like 9:30pm on a Wednesday and they responded 15 minutes later! I had two different versions of holiday postcards I wanted printed kinda last minute. I didn't want that many, just 9 of each postcard for a total of 18 postcards. In email, I was told I could come by and they would print it on the spot when I was there. I drove over the next afternoon. You have to pay for parking immediately in front of the copy center. Bring quarters if you can - I don't like using credit card on parking machines when they force like a 30 minute minimum - and sometimes you don't need that much time! I got there and the man was able to print a sample that I could check out. I liked it - there were two postcards per sheet - so it just required cutting. I was trying to ask how the postcard would be cut, so I could visualize the final product. He said it would cost more, like $16 if he were to cut it, or $10 if I were to just get the postcards printed. We were on different pages in terms of how the postcard would be cut. He was going to cut the edges such that there was no white space, whereas I wanted white space along the edges - I thought it would look better. He had to deal with other customers and I'm sure they were busy with the holidays and people trying to get holiday things printed like I was! I said I would just get it printed so I could cut it myself. There was a guillotine paper cutter right in front. I asked if I could use that and he said no... I didn't love that. I basically went across the street to another copy place and they were really chill about letting me use their paper cutter! So I basically knocked off 1 star for that. I was still a paying customer so I just wished he would be chill about letting my finish my postcards there! That is all, you should still support these guys lol but just be warned that they charge extra to cut things for you AND you can't cut it yourself with their supplies if you wanted to. read more

Grand Copy Center is on Grand Avenue in Oakland. I had gone to 2 other places to get copies without success before coming here. The first place was a business that had a copy machine, but it wasn't their primary business, and the worker wasn't able to assist me in downloading my PDFs off my phone to make copies. The second business I tried unsuccessfully was actually a copy center, but wasn't open when I got there during regular business hours. They had a sign on the door saying they would be there at 10:30--I went back at 10:45 and they still weren't open. Then I decided to go Grand Copy Center. This is a real copy shop that can do just about anything you may need including color copies, notary, really big jobs, and they were very responsive to my needs. Next time I need copies, I can email Grand Copy Center my PDFs, and they can have them ready when I arrive. We come here many times for photocopying or scanning and just came here this week to notarise some documents for visa processing. Did you know they do notary work - KUDOS! It's like one stop shop for everything, amazing! A tad expensive from what we are used to pay ($15 for a signature) but well worth it. The guys at the store are super friendly and helpful and location is always so conveniently close especially now that we have a kid ;).
