I mailed a medicine for my friend in Sacramento urgently overnight shipment but they sent it to Kentucky so they didn't receive it the next day. It was costed $74.07 This UPS store owner told us by email and in-person visit that he submitted for the full refund but we never received since over two months. He also didn't provide a claim number. Be aware of shipping from there. read more

Great service. The employee who helped us was able to multitask efficiently and was very patient at helping me with notarizing/printing/mailing documents while also helping other customers who came in during our long saga. Zero people were annoyed which seems way above average for any mailing/printing/copy store. read more

Terrible print service. Asked for a personalized card to be printed on card stock. When I came to pick it up I disappointingly discovered it was printed on regular paper and not double sided like I stated in request. The staff said the print staff was not in the office so to call back another day for a refund. Called the next day and the print staff said I needed to call corporate UPS to get that processed as they were unable to process returns in store. Corporate needed a tracking number which was not provided to me anywhere. I called this UPS again to see if they could help me get that number and they said they would have no way to help me locate it. In the end never got my refund for my print request! Please for any printing needs go to Elmwood Print and Copy on college Ave. They were AMAZING! And handled a particular print job wonderfully. read more

I came in today with an assortment of unconventional gifts to ship. Jeff suggested solutions to my challenges and he and his team were quick and efficient to execute. I really appreciated the customer service and commitment to solve problems! Will definitely come back for any shipping needs. Separately - while I was there, it looked like a new employee was being trained. The person training the new employee was patient and kind, and the new person seemed to be picking it up. Loved seeing on the job training, and hope that the new employee will follow in the footsteps of Jeff and the other folks who work here. read more

BEWARE: This store steals. I paid $148 to have items packaged in-store and shipped to me. When I received the package, over $600 in merchandise was missing. Truly infuriating. Do not use this UPS Store. Go to the FedEx Store up the street or use another UPS Store. read more

Had such a bad experience with another store where they refused to take our Nike return after trying to charge us for bags, boxes and tape, even though we returned 4 times with what they required. This is generally an okay enough UPS. But there is one employee I am always afraid of running into here. He is so incredibly mean! I avoid going to this location specifically because of him. I really don't expect much from a UPS service center, not even a smile is needed but getting yelled at a few times has turned me away permanently from this location. And the UPS on telegraph has much nicer staff who are never mean so I would recommend that one! I will walk to any other place even farther even though this one is more convenient. read more

I had an experience there yesterday that sadly compels me to never set foot in the store again. Been going there for years tolerating the dismissive service and all of a sudden yesterday went in to pick up a package and they told me they wouldn't give it to me unless I paid them an additional $10. I get that processing returns is something that isn't a big money maker for a store but charging people $2 for a simple piece of tape is ridiculous. I came here to return something I bought from Amazon in the original packaging and when I went to hand it to the employee, he said the charge for tape was $2, even though I was returning the item in a perfectly fine condition in the original box. I don't ship a ton of stuff but I know where I will absolutely not be going the next time I need to ship something. read more

Package mailed on the 1st of March due to be delivered on the 4th of March, only to be lost in the system, then found several days later, on the 6 I get a text message indicating that my package will be here on the 12th, no guarantee however, this is bullshit service, can't speak to a live person at the 800#, to see if. can get it sooner, seeing it was the shippers fault, I needed it last week!! Every other experience has been great, all employees are professional & friendly. Apart from one lady, who I think might be the owner. She's kind of passive aggressive - exacerbated by the fact that she also gives inaccurate information (while also doubling down). I dropped off a package, asked for a receipt, & she absolutely refused. I called UPS & they verified that my request was reasonable and that she/they should of given me one upon request. I was really surprised & baffled when she denied my basic request, and when I tried to explain how basic & obvious it was, she just shut down & told me "you can take your package somewhere else". Oh, by the way: now, 24 hours later, and the tracking number is still not showing up in the UPS system... wtf. Their location is too convenient for me to boycott... I guess I'll try to figure out when she's not working & go then. (ANYWAY, 5 + stars for everybody else that works there; appreciate you all!! read more

Surprised at all the low reviews for this place. I agree with other Yelpers - the customer service can be a little questionable at times, but overall I've had positive experiences here (and mostly with the owner!). When I first start coming here a couple years ago, I mainly dealt with the owner and he's always been incredibly welcoming, patient, and helpful. I once had a delivery sent here without knowing that UPS stores charged me for getting it shipped there. I explained to him how I had no idea I'd be charged, and he let me pick it up free of charge for that one time. I thought that was pretty great! I've returned packages here at least a dozen times and the process is always seamless. I drop it off and they go, "Can we help you with anything else? Ok you're good to go!". Easy peasy. Even once when the label wasn't scanning properly for them for a return, they called me 15 minutes later to let me know. I'd recommend this UPS location. read more

I came here to print out some copies. I asked for two copies of each file (brought a thumb drive.) Instead, they printed out four copies and charged me for all four. I came back, told them they charged me for four copies and they promptly refunded me without hassle. The service fee was 3 dollars to print something, I don't really have anything to complain about, a store's policy is a store's policy. The three workers there were nice as well. They made some jokes, were friendly, I had no problem with them and I was presented with good customer service. I have not mailed anything so if I have different experiences with that service I will update my review. *I give them 5 stars because for the services they offer, their service was good. I had no problems and all my transactions were smooth. Update: I had to pick up a package here recently. The process went smoothly. As a result, my rating will not change. read more

If you're looking for poor customer service and overpriced shipping, this is the place for you! I've had less than pleasant experiences here, but my most recent experience has truly driven me away from ever utilizing this UPS location ever again. Approximately two weeks ago, my boyfriend and I stopped by here to mail out a car key to his parents. The Indian male who was indifferently working the counter tried to make conversation with us, but didn't pay attention to the actual shipping customer service he needed to provide. Ultimately, he had failed to notify us that the "receipt" he gave us was the actual shipping label, and had turned his attention to the customer behind us. Assuming we were set, we left the store and the associate didn't notify us if anything was wrong as we exited. Two weeks pass, and we return to confirm if our package was even sent as the tracking number showed otherwise, or if our package was lost in general. Same dude working the counter. Rather than apologize for not giving us a proper receipt, he instead blames us saying it was our fault for not picking up the phone when he tried calling (it was an unknown number so how could we have known it was UPS and he didn't leave a message) and blamed us for taking the tracking sticker. When I tried to tell him that he shouldn't blame the customer, he continued to say it was "obviously our fault" and asked if we checked if the intended recipient had received it. Eventually, he printed out the updated tracking number that was created, and pointed out that "it's been delivered". Because the package contained something important and irreplaceable we were obviously concerned and upset that it could have been lost; however I don't think it's ever reasonable for the customer service to point blame to the customer who couldn't have known the typical receipt from the sticker if that was the only thing handed over, and nothing was said when we originally left the location. read more

I had a pretty slick notary experience at the UPS store a few days ago. Booking an appointment was easy, I dropped in. The notary was super helpful and efficient. The price I paid ($15) was equivalent to what I've paid at other notaries. I've also dropped packages off here a few times. The store itself is pretty small and feels busy pretty easily, but that's a pretty small gripe. read more

First off, call before you go. They won't be closed when you arrive if you actually ask when they close and tell them that you'll be in before that time. And ask for a price estimate so you won't be surprised. That's what I did, so the "shocking" $50 tab for my shipment wasn't so shocking after all. I had a UPS delivery sent to this location instead of my home, and they charged me $15 to pick up my own package. I was in a rush and just wanted my package, so I paid it. I later contacted UPS customer service and it's not even a standard fee. This location just arbitrarily decided to charge me for my own property. I put up with their poor customer service for a couple years because it wasn't enough to get worked up about, but this is a new low. I'll never use any of their services again. Don't be surprised by the low reviews and don't patronize this place. read more

That means they can just take you package, lose it and they can say they never receive your package here. No proof at all. Mail your package as your own risk. read more

Been there to send my watch Nixon back to Nixon Company located in CA for a new battery. I packed it very carefully, wrapped it with bullpack and placed it into the small shipping box Nixon is using to ship their watches. As usual I asked for an insurance. The clerk, told me it wasn't possible because my box wasn't a UPS box: its cardboard wasn't as resistant as the ones they sell. I didn't want to repack it, I compared their $2.80 boxes and mine: exact same quality. I said so to Thomas, the arrogant and totally unfriendly clerk. He replied that my box was too small, could be lost, theirs are bigger, safer... well, total bullshit. I usually go to UPS on Solano for this. They shipped my watch many times with the very same package I made with an insurance and no stupid comment like this. I felt that he started to be pissed, and before giving me the yellow slip he manually wrote on it "Customer insuficiently package item." Then he drew a large cross below and asked me to sign next to it as proof that I am perfectly aware of the lack of insurance! Beside the fact that his ridiculous and misspelled sentence was totally wrong, I found this totally abusive and insulting. The clerk's message was clearly: "You refused to buy our UPS box? No problem. Your package will be uninsured. That means you are paying for a shipping that we can loose and it will be 100% your fault." Almost hilarious: how is it possible to be so perfectly unprofessional?! UPS stores locations are independently owned and operated by franchisees. I went online and checked UPS documentation regarding insurance and packaging guidelines: Shattuck's location clearly goes beyond the standard. A place to definitely avoid. read more

NEVER use this UPS shop. Please read: This is by far the worst UPS store I have ever used and I will definitely not be using it again in the future. My latest visit I brought in several packages that were very securely wrapped (and much more protected than needed). All they included were items such as books, some Blu-Ray movies, etc. The employee refused to insure the items because he claimed they didn't package the items themselves. So, he opened and repacked a couple of them, charged for all the packaging material and service. Even then he still refused to insure a couple boxes (one box he refused to insure was a new video game packaged in an actual box filled with packaging material fully surrounding the item). This is obviously some kind of scam this particular store is running to increase the amount of money they get. In my 20+ years of using many UPS shops all over country I have never once been refused to have my package insured. Not even once. I also went to the official UPS sites and have been looking at the documentation regarding insurance and packaging. They are definitely going beyond what is considered standard in order to rack up customer bills. This most recent visit wasn't the first time I've had to deal with their antics (and, might I add, incompetence). I have been to this store on several other occasions and have given them the benefit of the doubt regarding how unprofessional (such as never giving you the tracking number, claiming they will e-mail it to you, and then never following through) to just slacking off and being clueless to what services you need. This last visit was really the last straw and I will definitely not be using them in the future. Also, I will be following this up by sending a letter to corporate so they are aware of what this shop is doing. read more

Would not accept a card transaction for under $10 dollars. I can understand why, but I also believe that making new customers satisfied leads to more business in the future. I just moved into Berkeley and needed to find a store that could handle my mailing and shipping needs. They wouldn't accept my card as payment to pay for postage to send my Dad a birthday card? Wanted to send a parcel to the east coast. Checked online for pricing should be around $13-$15 ground. At the store wast told $24 because east coast is so far and the package is nearly 5lb. I went to USPS instead, the package weighted 3lb and 10oz.... Sure I am not a regularly customer, don't have an account and didn't want to buy extra insurance, but still, please tune your scale or something. read more

If it disappears from the store, you will have no proof you left it there. It works like this despite the UPS website stating "GET A SIGNED RECEIPT FROM THE UPS STORE." * They will however let you right down the number on your own packing slip and keep it for future reference - gee thanks?
