As someone who sells items online for extra cash and a P.O. Box customer, I'm here at this post…read moreoffice all the time... at least 3X a week I come in to check my P.O. Box and often sending packages out as well. I understand why many other reviewers are frustrated as a lot of the time I come in the wait times to be helped at the counter are ridiculous and I'll admit in the past I've had postal workers misplace packages of mine and accidentally give me other customers packages which is very concerning but eventually everything gets worked out when that has happened and I haven't had either of those issues lately. I definitely can understand why their lines are so backed up considering they've been short staffed for quite some time which is common in most businesses right now. You'd be lucky to see two people working at the counter and one helping with the package pickup door on a good day but most of the time I've been in the past couple months it's only been one very hardworking lady holding it down and she is the reason I'm writing this review today. Her name is Lisa and I for one really applaud her hard work and dedication! I know she must really be exhausted by the end of the work day since she seems to be doing 90% of the work herself! Weather or not you guys get more workers in to help her soon, I'm telling you she needs a damn raise ASAP !! Being in line with others at the post office I've seen how so many of the other people are in pissy moods as they are very vocal about that but they're not empathetic to the work situation here ... I'd be losing my damn mind if I had to do everything she does with long ass lines. At one point I considered working for USPS as a delivery driver but did lots of research and I can understand why they may not be getting many applications for any of the positions because they're standards are very high... they may give you a day off but even on "days off" now, don't really consider them days off because you're basically on stand by and they can call you any moment and you'd have to go in if you want to keep your job. A lot of us have tough, physically and/or mentally demanding jobs at this time but after researching what it's like for USPS workers I'm extremely grateful for the service job I have. I know it's easier said than done but try to be patient and understanding as workers like Lisa are human beings like you just trying to make it through the work week, working their butt off trying to provide you with the best possible service they can. Take that into consideration next time you're waiting in line instead of making angry faces and whispering (not so softly) to the person next to you in line about how "BS" the wait time or service is.. who knows, you might just get some good karma come your way if you do ;) Love and light x

I recently lost a valuable package due to a misdelivery, and despite it being the post office's…read moreerror, they made no real effort to help me recover it. They simply repeated what the scan showed -- "delivered in mailbox" -- even though I never received it. They also told me they couldn't knock on doors to check who might've received the wrong key. That day, only three parcel lockers were open. If my package was misdelivered, one of those boxes would have received my key. If not, then the key was never placed in my mailbox at all. So where did my package actually go? Unfortunately, they closed the case immediately with no real investigation and no follow-up. This experience has left me unable to trust them with my deliveries. And based on previous reviews, this kind of issue has happened to others as well. I cannot recommend this post office for resolving misdelivered packages -- they take no responsibility when things go wrong.

Mail could be on time....would be nice if I could get my mail on the day it was delivered but we…read morecan't because they either don't have enough postal carriers, they didn't train their carriers or they don't have them sorted and ready to go into mailboxes. On the last part of the previous comment I know for a fact that the carrier either doesn't have it correctly sorted or gets so frustrated about her/his late delivery that they just shove whoever mail in a box. Been here in my apartment complex for 4 months and a day doesn't go by that I have more mail that belongs to some other apartment then I have of my own.

I have been waiting for a package ( over 30 days lost) that was allegedly to have been sent back to sender due to alleged insufficient address. Six days later it states on the USPS Tracker that it was sent to my address (remember incomplete address) and was handed to an individual. No specifics and no more information. I then reported it got a case number and a few days later the USPS Sumner Post Office Manager tells me it was sent back to the sender. When I asked her why it was allegedly delivered to me she said NO! and hung up on me. When I went to talk to her in person at the post office I asked if she hung up and she said YES! alleging I was rude (NOT TRUE AT ALL) and walked away. I never had a chance to talk to her and she could care less making fall's accusations for her own wrongdoing in character. The employees are nice but must be enduring her Unethical ways and unprofessional behavior in my opinion. This manager should undergo to Customer Service Relations Training and Management Skills to further her career in USPS and the Customer Service she identifies herself as to the community of Sumner WA. Upon talking to other residence in Sumner WA and seeing the reviews it seems this post office is lacking good Customer Service FROM MANAGEMENT. My company and personally myself will not longer use USPS out of Sumner WA and will Seek competitor's for future mailing services with more reliable deliveries and Customer Service from Management. Please be mindful to the USPS Sumner WA I just wanted you to be aware in making your delivery choices.

Living in the Milton area, this has consistently been the most frustrating aspect of receiving…read moremail. When I have the option, I actively avoid using this carrier--but unfortunately, that choice isn't often available. Despite only servicing a few complexes, the local team appears to be severely understaffed. They rarely deliver packages--regardless of size or delivery request status--and scheduled deliveries are routinely marked as "no safe place to leave," even when that's blatantly inaccurate. I've been told there's "no space in the truck" for packages, yet even with their limited focus on paper mail, I frequently receive items meant for neighboring units or even completely different buildings. On top of that, I regularly receive mail for former residents. Even after clearly marking it as "Not at this address" and returning to the outbox multiple times, the same pieces of mail are put right back into my box with no resolution. It's an endless, ignored loop. Attempting to retrieve packages in person is no better. Even when the post office is empty and staff are present, I've been told to "come back another day," with no guarantee I'll actually receive my item then either. The PO boxes are all full, and redirecting mail is both expensive and unnecessarily complex--making it an unreasonable workaround for a problem caused by their own system. The service is completely unreliable, often unprofessional, and has caused significant disruptions to my ability to receive essential deliveries. I can't take time off work just to chase down mail during their limited hours, only to be turned away or find my items returned to sender. This is an ongoing issue that needs real attention and accountability. TL;DR: this has been the singular bane of my existence since moving to milton

BUT HAVE SOME PATIENCE! People wouldn't think so low of you if you showed a little consideration. If the line is long ya I get it, hurry things along. But when there's 4 people in line and you're trying to get me in and out within 10 seconds. Just slow your roll a little and give a little consideration to your fellow human being. Doesn't have to be with a smile but be friendly, even if 1/2 the people coming in hate you because of someone else's mistakes. You're a better person then them, prove us wrong that you are better than the other USPS's in the area. Because you have a long way to go before you're facilities will be anything close to the MailSpot.

Next time you need to just go to the Post office, take a friend or out of town visitor here. It is definitely tourist friendly. The elevator was photo worthy but due to a time restraint I could not go picture crazy. The coffee shop was worthy to visit and grab a donut or cup of coffee but poor barista was doing a couple of jobs at one time. He was struggling to help 3 customers and my watch was ticking so maybe next time our family will come have a coffee and donuts. The post office had the beautiful historic touch and my son adds it even have a smell of history. I understood well and it was not that bad smell but it had that historical groove and you felt good vibes here. It was kind of like a Mr Roger's neighborhood flavor and modern mixed in one. I enjoyed my visit and I will definitely be back. This trip to the post office brought a new experience and excitement about Tacoma! The hospitality at the actual post office was the highlight moment. Genuine old fashioned customer service and genuine smiles. The smiles was all contagious among strangers too. It is so many hidden gems of history in this place. Please Yelpers if you come , you will get camera crazy. I started to but my husband was restless for his other errands. But husband dear, I am going to sweet talk him to bring me back for a great coffee date. Thank for so much history in this place. I love and it was our conversation piece all day.
