Mail could be on time....would be nice if I could get my mail on the day it was delivered but we can't because they either don't have enough postal carriers, they didn't train their carriers or they don't have them sorted and ready to go into mailboxes. On the last part of the previous comment I know for a fact that the carrier either doesn't have it correctly sorted or gets so frustrated about her/his late delivery that they just shove whoever mail in a box. Post office Manager is not Professional and very Unethical when it comes to her customer service skills. I have been waiting for a package ( over 30 days lost) that was allegedly to have been sent back to sender due to alleged insufficient address. Six days later it states on the USPS Tracker that it was sent to my address (remember incomplete address) and was handed to an individual. No specifics and no more information. I then reported it got a case number and a few days later the USPS Sumner Post Office Manager tells me it was sent back to the sender. When I asked her why it was allegedly delivered to me she said NO! and hung up on me. When I went to talk to her in person at the post office I asked if she hung up and she said YES! alleging I was rude (NOT TRUE AT ALL) and walked away. I never had a chance to talk to her and she could care less making fall's accusations for her own wrongdoing in character. The employees are nice but must be enduring her Unethical ways and unprofessional behavior in my opinion. This manager should undergo to Customer Service Relations Training and Management Skills to further her career in USPS and the Customer Service she identifies herself as to the community of Sumner WA. Upon talking to other residence in Sumner WA and seeing the reviews it seems this post office is lacking good Customer Service FROM MANAGEMENT. My company and personally myself will not longer use USPS out of Sumner WA and will Seek competitor's for future mailing services with more reliable deliveries and Customer Service from Management. Package was never delivered to me but posted delivered! Talked to a worker and he said he would send someone over to retrieve package but how would you know where it went without talking to the mailman/woman! Also called back two hours later and he stated sorry we are busy I will make sure to have someone take care of it! Nothing no whats your number/name! I get it during this pandemic it's busy but this isn't the first time my mail was not delivered and also I had to deliver my neighbors mail 3x due to it being delivered to my home! I've been calling all morning and no answer! For 1 1/2 hours now. The next step is to go to post office and see what excuse I will be given! My mother is moving to Sumner from Iowa so she is shipping boxes to lighten the load when I drive out to pick her up. I got a notice in my mailbox indicating that 5 packages are not deliverable due to postage being due. Turns out my mother accidentally put my sisters address, my former address, on the boxes which is just two streets over from my new apartment. Since my name was on the boxes, they forwarded them and are charging me $80.00 to cover the postage plus they won't allow me to pick the packages up on Saturday so I will have to miss an hour to an hour and a half of work to pick them up on a weekday. Not receiving mail on a normal basis Sumner post office has been on the local news over it but still continues to happen, my sons package was due to be delivered per tracking it wasn't delivered so waited another day the tracking was updated to ready for pick up so my son had to go to the post office because they couldn't deliver it,totally unacceptable !! read more

Is there any way to give negative stars?? This office and specifically the carriers are the most worthless, lazy employees I have ever witnessed. The USPS deserves to go under. It's really too bad that amazon is required to give them some business. This Christmas we have had about 4 packages not delivered because they said we are not home when we were, they have left one in the woods next to our driveway while we were home, and actually got one on our porch. Today the one left in the woods half way up our short driveway was the topper. We are going to contact all companies we purchase online from and tell them we will no longer purchase from them if they use USPS. As others state there is absolutely no way to complain and they make no attempt at anything resembling customer service. Oh, forgot to mention that several days per week there is no mail delivery. I have made 2 complaints to Seattle complete with case numbers since a year ago November. I have not been getting mail - for up to a week at a time. Finally talked to the postmaster in Sumner who guaranteed I would get my mail every day - has not happened. I know this route is long but this is totally unacceptable and would like a solution to this. If it requires splitting the route or turning into our street before continuing down Riverside so be it. On top of normally giving my mail to others and other houses mail to me they are constantly losing packages, not delivering packages, and mistreating packages. If a package won't fit in the mailbox they'll either make it fit or literally throw it at my front porch. Most recently they had lost a gun that was sent to my nearby ffl. These guys..... I hope you have a lot of patience and no plans for the day because these guys love to take their time. The clerk that I talked to was rude and he had this tone in his voice like he clearly didn't want to be dealing with us. We made an appointment just to have to wait in line. Apparently passport paperwork for them is a pain in the butt, because the tellers were making it clear how bad each one of them didn't want to help us. Amazon has contracted with the Postal Service to deliver packages on Sunday. That being said, Amazon my want to audit their contractor. Waited at home all day Sunday for a package that went undelivered. Tracked the package, and it noted that the driver couldn't get through our gate in our gated community @ precisely 1:36pm. Our gate stays open during the day, which includes 1:36pm. I personally saw the gate in the open position at 12p and again at 3pm. So, either I'm lying and taking the time to write a negative review or some postal worker took the rest of the day off. Very disappointed. read more

I am shipping a package via USPS, I have prepaid for shipping. Using an unfamiliar selling company I did not know that I only paid for shipping and not the package. I walk in the door and look around before bothering the employees to see if I can find the think shipping package. While I am looking the Older male employee starts to talk with the female employee about her being late or something. I can't find the package so I start to approach counter to ask, while I am walking the guy starts to scream at the lady about whatever. So I end up waiting to be helped for about 3 minutes while he is yelling at her, I can't jump in and say I need help so be quiet due to another guy in front of me. The lady ends up leaving and the guy behind her back does the Bras d'honneur gesture to her and laughs with the guy in front of me. The guy felt uncomfortable too and gave a small little chuckle. Really? You are suppose to be a professional and you do that thinking it is funny not to mention how disrespectful that was? So he quickly helps the guy in front of me and then asks me what I need. I ask him and he looks at my package in my hands with the prepaid shipping, he says it is more than 5oz and I have to pay some odd $7 packaging. I didn't know I had to pay for the package and said "I already paid though?" he then starts to argue and yell at me that that isn't how it's done and that I need to pay for the package. I am confused at this point because I wasn't aware I hadn't paid for the actual package, only the shipping. I look over at the packages then come back asking him to weigh it because I am not paying $7 for something I was told is less than 5oz. He weighs it and tells me "oh, it's 2 oz". OH? How about sorry for yelling at you, sir? I seriously cannot believe people like this are employed by anyone, I do not deserve to be treated like a freaking kid or yelled at. I am never going back here again and will drive out of my way if I need to use the horrid USPS again. read more

Misery loves company... maybe that's why I was in line for an hour!!! I wish I could give negative stars!!! I don't expect much from USPS... but being 3rd in line and waiting for 45mins to be "helped" isn't a good experience. There were two P.O. workers assisting customers when one decided it was a good time to leave and take a break. After about 30 minuets of waiting somebody in the line asked "is there anybody else in back that can help?" The pose office worker responded "I don't know! As you can see I'm busy. I'll deal with you when you get up here!" and believe me... he wasn't friendly when saying it! NO JOKE!!! Everybody looked at each other "WOW!!" This is no exaggeration! By the time I was "helped" there were about 20 people in line behind me. When the lady in front of me finally was face to face with the PO worker she asked the P.O. worker "Is it always like this? Is there anything you can do to improve service?" the response from the P.O. worker was... "its like this from open to close and if you have a problem with it you can tell my supervisor" I was literally waiting for somebody to come out and say I was on a hidden camera TV show and give me $ for being so patient... of tell me I'm on a new series of Candid Camera. It is clear that the employees here don't give a crap about service or assisting in a timely fashion. They look like they are getting the life sucked out of them with every passing minute. Walking dead zombie postal workers who's only passion is locking the P.O. doors and going home to be miserable and drink the woes of the day away. With service like this it is no wonder why the USPS is going out of business. I would gladly pay UPS, FEDEX or any other agency DOUBLE to avoid dealing with the employees at the Sumner Post Office. read more

The mail carriers from this post office are the laziest people around. They do not attempt to deliver packages and boxes to your house. They just head straight to your mailbox leaving a slip stating that they attempted to make a delivery. This is the 8th time this has happened. Called and filed a complaint with the postmaster and like any other post office the customer is their last priority. Many of our packages were from AMAZON. Will be contacting Amazon letting them know of the DISSERVICE USPS have been giving their customers. read more

This is the worst post office EVER!!! This is the post office that services my home, or at least that is what they are suppose to do. I have visited this post office more times than I ever should have, why you might ask, because they don't deliver any packages to my house. I work nights, I'm home all day long, yet they seem to just skip over my house every time. Although I live in a gated community, I have personally spent over $100 to have a postal approved lockbox installed that the drivers have access to enter the community, but they are too stupid to figure it out. So stupid in fact, that I had to start addressing my packages with the gate code on the shipping address, but low and behold, they are still too stupid to enter a five digit code to gain access, even though they have a key that opens the gate now thanks to the $100 lockbox I personally had installed for them!!! Today I paid a visit to this local post office to try and retrieve a package that was attempted to be delivered Sunday, the idiot postal worker at the desk said they didn't have the package cause the driver was going to deliver it today... Then why did they leave a notice saying to pick it up today!?! So now around 6:00pm I'm wondering where my package is, so I head to the mailbox to check, and guess what another useless notice saying the gate was closed!!! These are the most useless morons ever! This is why people go postal and why I try my hardest to use another mailing service. I hate you Sumner Post Office... So Much!!! read more

This is the worst post office EVER. They NEVER answer the phone and are extremely rude when you go in.

Horrible! Worst service ever. No worse service anywhere else. They open at 9 am and when you call, they don't answer. Then they take the phone off the hook so that they don't have to answer the phone. I've experienced it and it has been witnessed. I am not sure what gives them the right to provide such terrible service. Don't bother with this particular post office in Sumner, as you will not receive good service or even a smile from anyone working there. They have all been rude and condescending when inside and on the phone they are even worse, when/if they ever answer the phone. Carrier could not get to my door? There's no gate, no obstacles. The carriers have trouble finding the simplest address and make me jump through hoops when they don't deliver my packages because they went to the wrong location. read more

The person in charge of the Rural Routes that are in Puyallup, Wa. have to be the most brainless people in the Post Office. When a mail carrier gets in after 7:00 PM should know that there is a problem, or the mail carrier is goofing off a lot.
