I have had my car in my ownership for several years & had the most difficult time receiving the title from the dealership (the lady who helped me at Valley Vehicle said that Honda is actually one of the top 3 offenders for this - who knew!). Once I retrieved that, I needed to update it and change the info which requires a visit to Valley Vehicle. After visiting their website, I was able to reserve a place online via the Skiplino app. Very easy to do and reschedule (as this appointment happened the week of the Bomb Cyclone!). Apparently this place was open the entire time which was impressive. I went in on a Friday morning and was greeted right away. They were really helpful & able to assist me quickly at the time of my scheduled appointment; I unfortunately wasn't able to catch the name of the lady who helped me yet I was able to walk away with what I needed in about 20 minutes. read more

I don't know how long I've been coming to this location. But it's very convenient and it can get very busy! I'm usually in and out when here as I would order my tabs online and come directly in and pick up! I have been coming to this place for a few years now and I haven't had a bad experience yet. Wait times are reasonable, I think 10 minutes is the longest I've waited, and typically I am either seen immediately, or there is a 1-2 minute wait time. Lately, it has been even faster because I do everything online first, then I can just roll through the door, check in, get my things and leave. I went today to pick up my tabs. I walked in and was immediately greeted by an employee. I showed her my ID, she grabbed my tabs and I was out the door in less than 20 seconds. This is the fastest and friendliest licensing place that I have ever been to. read more

Was a 4-star location because of other staff members being knowledgeable, friendly, and patient when giving information, but the old lady that helped me with my transaction was par for an actual government owned DMV/DOL. She does not listen, is unable to perform multiple tasks/transactions at one time, and gives attitude when challenged. Being minutes from my house, it's a shame I now have to drive to another location because I do not appreciate playing Russian roulette with my time. Had a good experience here during the pandemic lockdown. They had a well established process for checking in, expediting online renewal pickups, and well marked seating to accommodate social distancing. The staff were all wearing masks and the counters were wiped down between each customer. Even with the added stress of Covid, they all seemed to be in good spirits and were friendly which is more than you can say for a lot of businesses these days! :) read more

I made three trips to this place in one day and was still unable to get WA plates. My mother had mentioned she had had difficulties there in the past but didn't mention it to me as she thought it was just her. Guess what it wasn't. First, they gave me a number for the wrong queue. But instead of helping, the person gave me another number as she had to go to lunch. Ok. Waiting again and was told I needed the title. she gave me a "pass". That would move me to the front of the line upon return. No problem. My last trip the "lunch lady". Who didn't remember she had already blown me off told me I needed my spouse to complete the transaction. The title Says one OR the other is needed. He sold,cars, so he would know. She blew me off again and said she was sorry. I told her she wasn't. They were most unhelpful. Here's the kicker, you can't even contact the owner to let them know how much this place sucks. Some guy next to me was also having an issue. The agent just looked exasperated that she misunderstood what he needed. She's supposed to be the expert, I don't think it was his fault. Helpful? No, professional, I think not. one Woman there was doing her best to keep things moving and stay focused. Sadly, I didn't get her. I'd give less stars if I could read more

We have a crazy schedule and cannot wait months for an appointment at other neighboring offices. Every time they are horrible. They have 5 windows but only open 2. Hours to wait for a tabs renewal. All staffs were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They helped to get things straightened out(transferring vehicles from CA) and it was a fantastic experience with an efficient process - I was lucky to speak with Cherie to prepare everything before I visit the office. Moreover, I also like to suggest using their online appointment app which was simple to use and really sets you in the waiting queue when you arrive at the location. Such a horrible place to spend 1 hour + of your day at. They really need to hire more people or train them to be more efficient. As I sit here, I'm watching people leave because the wait has become too long. I got here 20min ago with 15 people in line and 4 windows open. Now there's 24 people in line, 2 windows open and only one number higher than we were 20min ago. 1 of the open windows is an employee that has been on the phone over 10min receiving more training. Valley Vehicle Licensing should be a case study on how NOT to run a Vehicle Licensing business, or any kind of business for that matter. Accurate, timely, happy, friendly, helpful....all foreign concepts here. Rather, the adjectives that come to mind are: Hostile, rude, apathetic, incompetent, and slow. This office has afforded me the loss of vehicle sales and most importantly they have wasted months of my time waiting for unnecessary paperwork to show up in the mail. Consequently, I have completely written off Valley Licensing as a viable option to handle my licensing needs. On occasion I will pick-up internet ordered tabs at Valley... but just like needing to use a dark, dingy, nasty gas station bathroom on a long road trip, necessity wears an ugly face. Bortom line: Do not use this office! Go anywhere else. You'll be thankful you did. read more

Sure enough, he had something wrong with the paperwork (according to them) They said he'd need a new title etc etc blah blah. He almost lost the sale. He called me and I took him to a different location and the transaction went smoothly through with both parties leaving happy. Going to the DOL is typically a frustrating experience, so I don't think it's fair to take your frustrations out on this location or staff in the form of a bad review. The Lady who helped me was very friendly and helpful. I didn't have my ducks in a row so I will have to go back. She was super nice in explaining the requirements. Now, I know what you're thinking. You're thinking -- anything that has to do with licensing is going to 1) be a pain in the rear and 2) take most of your day. I'd agree with that in this case, with one notable exception; these guys here in Covington really, REALLY want to do better. You can tell they are frustrated with the slow service unlike other places where I've been where you can clearly tell the folks aren't performance-paid. That said - I visited here twice, one time for each car I had to register. And each time, they had three people taking clients. However, two of them were "in training" and could only do vehicle tabs. For the person that could do "title work" which could be renamed to "anything but tabs" it was a significant wait. And these aren't two minute transactions either. Both times I visited I waited over an hour (the first time was closer to two hours.) This place gets two stars because 1) they were apologetic about the wait and realize there's something wrong and 2) they were incredibly friendly, which I consider a rarity given the obvious stress and reactions from most of their clients about the wait time. what an experience. I don't have high hopes for amazing customer service in this type of industry. This place was horrible. The "greeter" acted and greeted people like they annoyed her. An elderly lady came in and sat down and asked how we got our tickets. I explained she needed to check in. She had a cane, so I would ask for her. The front person, was rude to me when I informed her about the lady. She raised her voice, when all I was trying to do was help this lady. I spoke to the owner, and all she did was justify her employee behavior. Stay away from here... it's private business that does not believe in customer services. If give less stars if I could. This place is such a joke. Two out of the three times I've went in there I've waited an hour before being seen then was told they couldn't help me. Don't waste your time here. It's worth the drive to go elsewhere. The last time in I attempted to transfer the tittle of an old boat into my name. It was a 1958 14' foot boat with no motor. Really, no value. The purchase it for $1.00 and the bill of sale reflected that. The lady on the other side of the counter wouldn't help me because she said it if was a gift I would need a separate letter stating to was a gift and if I paid $1.00 I would need to pay fair market value on the boat. What is fair market value? I asked. She didn't have a clue and said I had to take the boat to a dealer and get an value then get that notarized then bring that back in. Are you joking? I paid $1.00. What's he sales tax on $1.00!!!??? If you want me to pay tax on something I didn't pay hen at least tell me how much! I waited an hour for that BS. There is nothing pleasant about King County tag registration and WA state propensity to add on bogus roadway congestion and processing fees to fund the $$$ revenue losing monster of light rail and mass transit. I realize this is for an independent license shop, but the inconsistency between all of the satellite offices grinds my gears. Every few years they try to enforce a bogus tag reflector fee and force you to get new tags at a cost for a perfectly "functional?" plate. Each store also charges different convenience fees. As for registration, each car is renewed on different dates depending upon purchase date. This is annoying to me because of three vehicles. I have to make three trips to this office every year instead of registering all three at once based on first letter of last name, which I think would be easier and reduce foot traffic. Sorry, I don't call them "tabs". Tabs are something you pull off a soda can. WA tries to run tag services out of store front retail spaces, so you can be assured of congested parking and sitting areas. The best quality, is that you can submit the tag renewal online, then walk in and ring the doorbell and get almost immediate pickup and service.If you need titling services, expect a wait. They also do not accept cards but they will gladly accept CASH from their fee heavy ATM. read more

After 10 minutes on hold was asked to stay on hold for another 5 minutes. When lady Finally answered i was told they must have been lost in the mail or stolen out of my mailbox. After I explained I had a high security locking mailbox she said the post office must have lost them and I needed to come in to fill out paperwork to get new tabs. I head down there and there was no less than 20 people in line that went out the door and around the corner of the building. I looked inside one window was open helping customers.
