OH HELL NO! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! I really hate the USPS Porter Ranch branch! I was expecting a package from amazon today and I happened to be sitting by the door when the postman (who I know for a fact is from this particular branch) literally opens my gate and THROWS my package at my front door. It doesn't matter what the contents of the package are, THIS IS JUST PLAIN WRONG! The contents happen to be an eye shadow palette. Girls, you know what this means. Now, amazon packs their shit well- this envelope had 4 layers of bubble wrap inside. Unfortunately this post office delivers to my area.... This is THE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED.... Our mail carrier doesnt come until 5 30 , if were lucky... I wrote in to the main office who forwarded my complaint to this office. Basically the woman I spoke with told me that I was SOL..."they are very short staffed" MANY PEOPLE NEED JOBS... HIRE SOMEONE! First off, it's a post office. Post offices are rarely a good time. I was with my brother and sister-in-law to mail a large box. Jose was the one at the counter, and even though the post office was closing in 20 minutes, he was cheerful and helpful. Once he told us how much the shipping would be, my brother balked. Jose told him that there was no cheaper shipping anywhere, and challenged my brother in a friendly manner to try out the UPS store in the same shopping center, betting it would be $30-40 more. He said he wouldn't even make us stand in line again, and urged us to do the comparison. Well...ok. So we went down to the UPS store, and Jose was totally right: $30 more. We walked back to USPS, went straight back to Jose, and he laughed and rang up the package. Done deal, and we learned our lesson. read more

I use this Postal Service quite frequently. This is a busy location and the employees are always very helpful. They treat me with complete professionalism also handle my packages with total care. Equally as close to the Chatsworth location and I always prefer the Porter Ranch branch! read more

This location is down right the slowest and most unorganized location I have ever been to. They never have flat rate boxes or envelopes stocked up and there is only one worker, not to mention no one gives a s&@t about customer service. No wonder stamps keep going up in price because not enough revenue. Way to go !!!! read more

The USPS Service is one of the worse services known to man! DO NOT EVER USE this Service! They don't care about you whatsoever! I shipped a package to Canada via EXPRESS, which the fees are almost double UPS. I will NEVER EVER use USPS service again! By using USPS EXPRESS your package is guaranteed to be delivered to the destination by a certain date and time. I shipped this package for $300 in gifts to my brother in Canada. The package left the United States via LosAngeles and never made it to Canada. I put a case for this package which is now considered lost! Waited over two hours on the phone and all supervisor told me that they are not responsible for my package! Mind you she told me they are not responsible! Why did I spend an extra amount of money for express service and to ensure my package if they aren't responsible? Phone who just blatantly lied to me end it wasn't helpful at all! Warning! Do not even consider on using USPS service ever! Your package will be lost and they don't care and you'll never get your money back! they probably have behind the scenes ripping people off because they know that there's no way anyone can do anything about it! They are thieves! I will be suing USPS for negligence, loss of money, and false advertising! If you ever want is a service to ship your package to Canada or wherever, then use UPS or FedEx, which USPS are Corrupt and they will lose your packages, which are being stolen by their workers and your items will be sold on the black market! read more

I went to the post office a week ago to mail a parcel for my 10 year old. It was his birthday present. There were no lines in the office. One person in front of me, no one behind me, and one "lead" clerk. She was not unfriendly, but then again, she wasn't friendly. She was professional but uncaring and had a stern voice and coldness eminated from her. All i wanted was to buy some "pretty stamps" (actual stamps) for the package, since it was a gift for a child, and our families still pay attention to stamps. I didn't want only the computer printout with a bar code and price affixed on the box. I wanted the clerk to sell me stamps, nice, colorful, cheerful stamps!! She gave me a hard time and attitude. Said i would beed to buy a packet of stamps (i needed about $16 worth) and i would need to affix them myself. She said she could not show me different stamps and made it all seem like a needless ordeal! She showed 2 or 3 packages of different designs of 'forever stamps' all the while making me feel like i was demanding too much of her to begin with and making me feel silly. I felt like an idiot. In the end i bought a nice package of forever stamps and affixed them all by myself on the package. Abput 14 of them!!! (But they were all the sane, unfortunately). This cost me @$0.60 more as she didn't want to sell me more than one type of stamp so as to get the exact amount of stamps, for example: 5 $2 stamps, 5 $1 stamps, etc. She made it clear it was a hassle. For God's sake: this is a p o s t office. The people there should at least like stamps. How on earth will anyone ever be interested in collecting stamos if they don't get to see "nice' ones on packages and letters? All this could have been done quickly in less than 5 minutes by the way. She could have shown me different stamps. I'm a fast person and choose quickly. Plus, there was no one waiting behind me. No one. The office was empty except for me being the only customer. The person in front of ne had left. I mentioned that the post office on Reseda in Northridge sells me the stamps I need/want and they don't mind doing it. The clerk suggested I go there! I definitely will. Look, i may be old fashioned, but if you aren't even vaguely intetested in stamps, don't work in the post office with the public. I really came away feeling battered, for lack of a better word. And I am not a demanding person. read more

Poor service. One young lady was very sweet, but the older lady was very rude. I watched as she got visibly irritated with an older gentleman because he was paying with coins. She said things like, "Oh, this is a quarter, you need a nickel." Then, she tossed the quarter back at him. Seriously? That was so uncalled for. Porter Ranch P.O. is the worst post office in the world. I am calling to get help and the phone has been ringing about 60 times maybe 75. What? Now I just got disconnected. Are they kidding? I called the 800 number and told them my zipcode and they said it would be a 26 minute wait. When it exceeded that, I hung up. I have never in my life. There is a woman, Maria, who works there and she is evil, rude, condescending, in a rush, not helpful, wont even give you 1/2 inch of tape or gives you a dirty look when you ask to use her scissors. I once sent a $50 makeup to my daughter out of the country and she never received it. I cannot stand this woman. The only reason she still has her job is because of tenure I am sure. When I am in line and she is next up, I wait and go to the other person. She is absolutely despicable. Angry, mean woman who should not be in a customer service business. On the other hand, the Northridge branch on Reseda Blvd., everyone of them are lovely. They have been there forever and are so willing to help and greet you with a smile. They should close down PR, I dont mind driving the extra mile to get good service. I never complain about people or government establishments but this one, Porter Ranch, is way below the standard of par. So annoying. That' s all I have to say. read more

Worst service ever!!!! The lady (dark sun glasses, other websites complained with this description)If you google this post office there are many complaints about the service. I felt depressed when I walked out because how bad i was treated. I came in wanting to mail a package to my aunt and uncle, a pretty "thank you" picture/painting my daughter made b/c they gave her a present for her birthday. I was completely ok with buying the box roll, but i asked for a sticker label and she told me i have to purchase it, (every other post office i have ever been to gave me stickers to use as a label. Then i ask her if she can tape it. Guess what!!!! I have to buy that to !!! There was a huge packaging tape roll right there in front of her. All i needed was a piece to seal the box roll. I asked her why cant i just use a piece from there, and she says "Its not for customer use!" in a very rude tone. With 10 people on the line seeing my displeasure, thank God some nice lady told me there is a UPS store in the same plaza, and that they would not even would have charged me for the box! I paid for my tape/ label and box roll and walked out. When i get to the UPS store the girl was a sweetheart, and mailed my package for me. She even put some more packaging tape on FOR FEE and she was a doll, nice!! !!!!!!! DO NOT GO HERE GO TO THE UPS STORE A FEW DOORS AWAY!!!!! Or go to the post office on Sepulveda and Devonshire, that post office removes the stereo type that post office workers are miserable the ladies that work there are always friendly, give me tape when i need it and stickers ti use as labels. read more

This place is a hell hole. EVERY time I have tried to send something via USPS, this branch has been unimaginably unhelpful, rude, slow, inaccurate. I wonder why they chose to work in a post office, when they hate and are horrible at dealing with people's everyday problems. People take great care in sending and receiving their packages, yet the carelessness this branch deals with their customers makes me never want to go here again. Not only that, but I feel so strongly about their ineptitude that I have even decided to write a yelp review about this branch. I had mailed out a package last week, and needed some help with it, the woman who works there was extremely unhelpful and she slammed the door in my face. All because I wondered where they delivered my package? Because the tracking information was saying undelivered, but no one seemed to know where my package actually is. I mean how unprofessional is that? Thank you for losing my package porter ranch post office. Who ever is reading this from the USPS, you need to make sure your branches are working effectively! The older lady with an accent who's been working there for 31 years (overheard her) was incredibly impatient and rude to me. I was polite the whole time saying please and thank you. She told me to put the package on the scale. She turned it to one side. I wanted to put the label on another side so I turned the package. She then, standing closer to the very small package than I was, and demanded that I turn the box the way it was. I can go on and on, but after her berating me for trying to figure out how to send the packages I had, it was determined that the packages needed to be sent registered and sealed with paper tape. She literally threw the tape down on the desk. I asked her if I could use the Priority Mail labels and she repeatedly told me no and that I could purchase labels. She finally said I could write on the box directly. I asked if she had a magic marker since all I had was a fine point pen, and she said no. When it came time to pay, I handed her my credit card (she commanded me to give it to her) and then told me I had to sign on the back of my credit card (it had no signature). I use my credit card for literally everything and in many years, this is the first time I've ever been told I had to sign the back or I couldn't use the card. So she hands me a nice big sharpee marker to sign it. I know that this is par for the course for any government office, and I know this lady will get at least 80% of her salary when she retires, I know nothing she does can get her fired, I know she will get the best free medical care as part of her retirement package. She doesn't deserve it, but she will get it. I guess I'm just writing this to purge myself of the experience. At least I didn't thank her after she gave my my receipt. read more

Really terrible when your mailman drives around your neighborhood while on the phone. This is not my normal mail man but this is the third time I've seen him deliver mail yakking away on his phone today's date is October 3rd look it up Postal Service because today he almost hit a man delivering flowers to a neighbor..... If I could give this place less than 0 stars, they still wouldn't deserve it. The main reason I say this is because of the customer service. I don't think I've ever come across a more rude human being in my entire life. Maria Rios is just the devil of all employed people in the world. We walked in, she asked how she could help us so we walked over to the counter and told her we wanted to send a package to India and she never let us finish our sentence before she asked us to put the package on the scale. My mom was still mid sentence and asked if the lady was talking to her and with a nasty look she said yes. So we did, we asked her the quickest way to get it there and she told us to look at the screen and pick something. As we asked her questions about tracking she kept cutting us off and then told us to pick an envelope and literally THREW a priority slip at us to fill out. We asked which envelope and she said "any envelope, it doesn't matter, pick one, over there", and she pointed to the back wall. I basically told her she was so unbelievably rude and there was no need for it and I walked over to the envelopes and my mom turned me around and said there's no way she even wants to deal with that lady so we left. Point being, I've never hated to see anyone's face as much as I hated that womans face. I wish I could have said more to here while I was there but it's better to walk away than deal with scums of the earth. So it is not just me... The service at this post office is horrendous. The two usual women who work the front, provide terrible service. They are rude, snappy and not at all courteous. Every time I come to this post office, I deal with their usual negative attitudes. I started to include their names in this post but, decided to spare them the humiliation. Neither women seem to want to help customers at all. I don't understand how people who act this way remain employed. The woman (who I believe is the supervisor) seems understandably agitated by the laziness of these two particular workers. Sucks when a place with horrible service is the closest place to home. I'm a book junkie, and I order my books through Amazon occasionally. Because I relocated to a new residence, my orders ship through this office. Nothing special, just a guy purchasing stuff. I went on and did what I would sometimes do: drive to the office to save them the trouble of carrying such package(s) and pick it up. First time--the guy with a mustache--told me that the package hasn't arrived without even checking my tracking number. (In addition, he would give me the nastiest look ever, as if I did something wrong, like waiting patiently in line.) I let it go since it was just early in the afternoon. I then went online and it stated that my package arrived at their facility early in the morning (so either he was too lazy to check in order to embarrass me in front of the folks in line, or he doesn't care because he doesn't care). I was livid, so I went back and told him the package never arrived at my house, and he sounded surprised. So he finally looked back, lent me the package in a frustrated way (nearly hitting me on the nose), scanned and never 'welcomed' my thanks. Second time happened today. I ordered a few more books and went on to pick it up. It was him again. I asked if I could pick it up and he said that I couldn't pick up the package unless the mailperson left a beige-colored slip on my door asking to pick up the package at the office (what?). As far as I know, those slips are given when the package requires a signature and no one is home to sign it. He didn't even bother to check the tracking number on the package's transit. This mustache guy did the very same thing to another guy wanting to pick his mail/package up, and today, rudely told a woman and her kids to go somewhere else to obtain a passport. Unbelievable. Regardless, I'd have to give him credit: patient, kind customers like me are a threat to his livelihood. Clerks don't give customers nasty looks for no reason. People only want to send/receive their items and/or obtain a passport without any trouble; I'm only there to receive an order of books, or video games, THAT I PAID FOR. This guy is a perfect example of ruining a modest business--a cacophony of bad customer service. Someone wants to pick up his package, and he'll be damned if he's going to do it, let alone do anything. I'm going as far as to ask Amazon if they can use another shipping service (though this may never happen), so I may resort to the manager of this branch. I've heard the employees on many occasions raise their voices at some customers and become agitated because-GASP!- their help is needed. How bout not having scissors to borrow, or a roll of tape? I've been to many other branches that are more than happy to let people borrow what they need to ship their packages. The line is outrageous, I have never seen people move so slow! Worst experience. I came here to pick up Registered mail & the lady @ the desk tells me that the carrier that day had issues & he lost all the mail from that day. She then gave me a number (818)773-0028 where I was put on hold for awhile & someone else picked up & passed me along.. I asked if they Had tape, nope have to buy some. Asked if they had scissors, guess what nope. This place is terrible! I waited for 30 minutes in line, they only had like one person working there and she was so damn slow. And the ridiculous part is they charge you for EVERYTHING. If you need a small piece of tape, they will force you to buy an entire roll of tape for $4. And then if you're paying for a shipping label, you have to actually purchase the label first before paying additionally for the postage and shipping fees. First, it is grossly understaffed; the long line doesn't even faze the employees.
