I still think this is a great post office. And one of the best things about it is the greeting card selection. The other day I was in a grocery store and a Papyrus brand card was $9.50 - for a GREETING card - BLANK inside. Good lord! I know people aren't sending as many "these days," but I have to think pricing is one of the issues. In steps the USPS. Today I spent 3.99 on each Hallmark card and NO SALES TAX! Friendly Nazan at the counter even had coupons she used to save me even more! Look, don't arrive during peak hours, like lunchtime rush or after school pick ups and the lines won't be as long. But even if they are long, don't get exasperated and angry with the counter staff, they're not responsible for staffing. Everyone at this post office is always so kind and so professional. They always go above and beyond with their service. Several times they have suggested a better less expensive way to ship or mail something (without me even asking) just so I would save money. They grab my boxes from the back when they see me coming in. They always greet me with a warm greeting and a smile. I had a package that I was expecting go missing and the supervisor promised she would track it down. Not only did she track it down she called me after hours to let me know it would be in a locker for me. I've worked decades as a manager in the service industry. Finding great service is getting harder and harder to find these days. This post office and it's team really care about their customers and they seem to really love their jobs. WHY DIDN'T THE LADY WORKER TELL ME! I had a package going out. It was a pre-printed label for the post office. It was around noon. There was two workers behind the counter and one customer. It was a lady that helped me. She put it on the scale and looked at the package. And she asked me if this was it, I said yes. Well after the package got delivered. I received an email saying they charged me $8 dollars more on my account enough for another package. They said it was 2 ounces over! Why didn't the postal worker tell me so I can pay the 2 ounces worth at the time. Instead of charging me a whole Nother package Because she looked at the scale after she put it on the scale obviously, she would have seen it if there was a overweight issue. There is a woman named Nazanan that works here who has the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. She should be working in the back of a dark dungeon with no human interaction. She's loud and rude and disrespectful on multiple occasions. What makes matters worse is the manager of this branch is careless and oblivious and does not seem to care about customer complaints. I paid and prepared a package for ground shipping from here to Florida and came in on a Friday June 13th 2 hours before closing. It seemed pretty busy I decided to drop off my package in the outgoing bin since I had already paid for it online and confirmed with the front desk attendant that it was the right bin. A few days later, I noticed that the tracking hadn't been updated, and I assumed it was because it was the weekend. However, it's now nearly two weeks later, and my package is nowhere to be found. I suppose it's my fault for not waiting in the long line to check in my package with the front desk, but I've done this with all my other packages by dropping them in the bin with everything else, trusting that they'd be sent out. I understand that this post office is busy and has a lot of people, but the ladies working there are incredibly rude. I don't like confrontation, so it takes a lot for me to say something when something goes wrong, but you should definitely avoid this place at all costs. Even if this is the closest post office to you, make sure to find a different one. Your packages will disappear if you send them through this one. read more

I personally don't understand the low rating for this location. I sell on mercari so I am here all the time and I've never once had a problem. Sometimes the lot is packed as it's not the biggest lot. Sometimes there is a line. Sometimes the drop off bin is closed. It's ok, we're in a pandemic and more people are doing things through Mail. The employees are great and I never have issues with my packages. What else would I ask for? read more

Parking: plenty of parking at this location. On side there are at least 10 spots. In front there around about 6, plus 2 disabled parking spots. If that isn't enough, there are plenty of street parking available to customers. I have been here around six times to this date, and each time I have always been able to park inside the parking lot and have never had to park on the street. Staff: Each time I have came to this location, I have been greeted with a hello, and provided efficient knowledgeable service. They had a member of the staff come out to the line to help speed up the process and make sure when you get to the desk, you're ready and prepared to make your transaction as smooth as possible. Services: You can come here obviously to mail out letters, gifts, returns, or etc. I have come here for Money Orders, which are incredibly easy here and cost efficient. Only $1.75 per transaction. So if you're ever in the market for a money order, come here. It's fast and simple. Mailboxes: Plenty of PO Boxes available for customers if you live in an apartment complex or don't trust your mailbox at your residence. Stamps: They offer a variety of selections to chose from. I have seen birds, sports, history themed, and even famous landmarks. Depending on the season, you will find different types offered to you. read more

These people are awful, they'll lie to your face about any information just so they don't have to deal with it. When trying to find out what happened to a package, they say the driver doesn't know the route, couldn't find the house, blocked by a gate...poor excuses for not knowing how to read a street sign, use GPS, and guess what - there is no gate! If you're in the Chatsworth area, avoid all other USPS offices and visit this one. They always have multiple counters open and operating, even during employee lunch hours. The few people I have encountered working here work at a speed of light especially compared to any USPS worker. This updated review is based on the USPS package pick up which is free if you set it up on their website. Whoever they have picking up packages on Saturdays is terrible. EVERY TIME (yes 100% of the time..) I have scheduled a pick up on Saturday, they have sent me an automated email saying it has been completed but the package is still there where I told them to pick it up. I often have used recycled Amazon packaging which could be why however if they checked the postage on it when they are supposed to scan, they could see it's for USPS and can scan it. I'm assuming the Saturday worker is illiterate. The weekday one is often the regular carrier who I have no problems with, however sometimes they don't pick it up and it gets picked up really late at night (I'm talking after 10 PM). There has also been times where carriers ring at the bell saying they are there for a pick up when the pick up was supposed to occur a few days prior. There's some glitch or miscommunication with the website and the workers it appears, and their Saturday employee needs to be trained and to learn how to read. read more

They do not deliver with care, shoved a big box in a tiny mailbox. I lost an order I placed online, said it was delivered to the post office in Chatsworth and the tracking from them receiving the item stayed at a pending status. When I called to ask the status or if I could pick it up, they said they had not received it. They lied. It was delivered there from UPS. The manager LINDA was rude and hung up on me. I called back thinking the call disconnected and she hung up on me again, avoiding resolution. I wish they would look into the staff they have at this location! Very rude, very unprofessional! I rarely mail things, so pointing me in the right direction (cheerfully), helping me package my item, finding the most cost effective way to ship the package, and just basically being really nice is great. I must write to say that the staff here are very kind and helpful people. I recently moved here and there aren't many mailboxes to drop off my items at so I come here! I raced over to the post office before it closed at 5:30. It's convenient that the machine was right there without a line to weigh my large envelope and to pay with my credit card. It was about two dollars to mail my large envelope. The parking lot is pretty small so hopefully you will get a spot! read more

I've been trying to return a TV via "smart post", which means it can be returned via USPS mail or dropped off at a FedEx facility. Dropping off the TV to a post office was not an option for me so I opted to schedule a pick up during the regular delivery of my mail. Which I confirmed with the USPS customer service rep that they are willing to pick up the size and weight of my package. The first attempt, I left the TV out at my front door reluctantly because I had no idea when they might come. The second time, I instructed for a knock on the door. I even received confirmation of my pick up for both times when the item was NEVER picked up. I understand it's possible I may have missed BOTH these attempts so I went a step further and PAID for "on demand pick up" where you are allegedly allowed to pick the time they come, that way you can plan for it better. 10am morning of pick up, nothing. So at 11am I call the 1800 number, was on hold for about 26 minutes, and the person tried to assist me but didn't seem knowledgeable about this service and placed me back on hold and then a brand new rep was helping me and I had to give her the details of why I was calling all over again. She directed me to call the actual post office location for my area and provided me the number. These reps were nice but it's just a general call center and they can't really help you related to anything specific to your location. The first time I called my area's post office there was no answer. I waited maybe 10 minutes and tried again. I'm really sorry I didn't remember the person's name because even though I was frustrated and annoyed with the situation, especially because at this point I PAID for the service, he was very helpful, and actually followed up. He explained that this is a new service and they aren't very familiar with it so to help, he would get one of his couriers to come out within 15-20 minutes (good, because they're literally 3 minutes away). I asked if it were possible to give my number so someone could call me if there was an issue during this attempt. I notify my boyfriend who is at home waiting that in 15-20 minutes they'll be there. Again, who knows, maybe he missed it, but he tells me they didn't show so he just puts it outside at the front door. I get a call 5 minutes after that and it is the same person I spoke to earlier, saying that the driver did come out, knocked on the door and waited a few minutes and no one answered. I was frustrated, but there is a neighboring complex that gets mistaken for my address all the time so maybe they went to the wrong place. He was still very nice and willing to send his driver back to my address when I explain at this point we just left it outside for them. Less than 10 minutes later the return package is gone. USPS needs to do better and not offer a service until their staff knows what it is and can actually do it. To the person who helped from this location; great customer service and follow through, a life saver and an asset to that location. THANK YOU! read more

This is the best post office I have been to! They always help me with getting the price cheaper. Today Tony explained to me how to really do it. I have been spending so much more than I should have been. Knowing what I know now I could have saved over 500$ in shipping over the past year. He didn't need to help me but he did! I went to the Chatsworth Post Office today and was shocked. One of the female employees behind the counter servicing customers was not wearing a mask or gloves even though the other employees were wearing masks. When asked why she wasn't wearing a mask given that she serves hundreds of customers and touches everything like customer's mail, money, etc., her response was that it's her "privilege". Doesn't the Post Master know that it's mandatory and a law that everyone in LA needs to wear a mask when going outside or into businesses? Shame on them. read more

I don't know this employee's name but she is super rude. She is an older woman that works the counter, her window is almost to the end of the counter but not the last one. She is really the only woman I have seen working the window. This woman has zero customer service in her. She is constantly rude to folks especially the elderly and folks who just don't plain understand what she is saying. I try to avoid this post office because of her but it isn't right that I have to go out of my way to visit the post office because she is rude. Yesterday 11/5/2021 I went in because someone had sent me a letter that needed me to pay postage on it. I was dealing with a very nice young man when I had to go to the car and get my wallet. When I came back in, she, the rude employee was holding my letter. I went down to her window and she said nothing to me. At the end of the transaction she didn't offer any kind words or even a receipt. Usually the customer is asked "do you need anything else, stamps, etc" then sent off with a nice thank you from the employee. She didn't say anything at the end of my transaction so I started to walk away to leave. She yells out "a ya... a have a nice day....ah have a nice day"... very rude and condescending. I have seen her treat others rudely when I wait in line. She has no patience and she really has no place dealing with customers or the public in general. I don't know her name but she is older, wears glasses, dark hair and looks to be white/ hispanic. She is the only RUDE one in there. Everyone else is very kind, helpful and professional. These guys lost a very important international package of mine for 4 days, and there should have been no reason for it. I paid for shipping online, labeled everything correctly, and then handed my package directly to an employee when I got there. This was on a Wednesday. The following Monday, there were still no tracking updates for the package. I called them up, and although they agreed that it was strange and that I should have at least seen a "received" scan when I gave it to them, they had no help for me whatsoever besides "wait and see if it ever arrives." Riggghhhtt.... I was sure someone working there had stolen it, since international packages have the item and it's value written right there on the box. Low and behold, a week later (and after much stress and panicking), there is finally an update: my package has arrived at a sorting facility in Los Angeles 4 days after I dropped it off! YAYYYY it took my package 4 days to travel 45 minutes, it's amazing! Maybe it was stuck in 405 traffic :D When this thing finally arrives in Canada where it's supposed to end up, I'm filing a claim to get my money back; I didn't pay for priority international shipping to have your employee stuff my package on a back shelf for more than half a week, and then finally decide to send it. Ridiculous. Things like this are exactly why I don't believe minimum wage should be raised. read more

Terrible customer service, I'm not a big shipper. Just send random packages here and there and usually I'll go in and the customer services rep will let me use their tape if I'm buying a box. I was waiting patiently in a long line for my turn as a man comes out asking if there was anyone just dropping off? this man was previously working the counter and as he stepped away he said a comment like "I'm outta here " the line was long and at the point there was only 1 other rep working the counter so I decided to try the self serve kiosk, my box was open as I thought I was going to be able to get a strip or 2 from the one they have using at their counter and the guy said "you tape the box first" I said may I please have some of your tape and he pointed behind him where the tape roll for sale was and said "yea after you buy some". As I walked out to buy tape at the dollar tree across the street I thought to myself now I know why their Yelp rating is so low. read more

An excellent Post Office! I've been to several other post offices and this location exceeds the others by far. Drive thru blue box available, a popular choice for the regulars who have their mail all stamped & sealed up ready to go. Minus one star because of the limited spaces in the tiny parking lot and also because of the few sketchy and seemingly non threatening characters loitering by the entrance and around the parking lot which is obviously no ones fault but it does make me feel a little un safe at times especially when they are waiting right by your vehicle and staring at you, but I digress. Super friendly and efficient staff that really knows their stuff. They are usually pretty well stocked with all the different sized boxes, I don't think I've ever come here and they didn't have the size I needed. I like that there's usually someone who isn't behind the counter to help guide people to minimize waiting in line. Definitely not your average post office in terms of service because they are so outstanding. I feel like everyone here goes out of their way to make your transaction as smooth as possible. It does get busy at this location, but the staff moves the crowd very efficiently. This location is charming. It's next to the train station and there are a few good eateries within a half mile radius such as The Munch Box, Pho Saigon (possibly my favorite pho in the valley), Les Sisters, Los Torros, Villanueva & some Thai and Indian restaurants. There's a bunch of great places to check out in this part of Chatsworth. Thank you Team Chatsworth Post Office for always being sincere and giving the most excellent customer service. Expert tip: move swiftly in the parking lot, once you get in your car hurry up and leave since 1. Someone needs your spot and 2. The line for the counter here has always been short when I have been there. Have never waited more than a couple minutes to get to the counter. If you drop a package off in the bins outside they will not perform an acceptance scan. You have to go inside and watch them do it. Once I handed a first class package to the counter in the late morning and it didn't get scanned for the first time until midnight at their sort facility in Santa Clarita.
