    We deserve better service. USPS hires these contractors who hire unqualified workers who are not consistent with their service. Missing mail, deliveries to wrong address, putting boxes in that are too big to get out of the small opening and the latest leaving door to mailboxes open. Huge mistake!! Ugh!!

    Daisy Mountain Post Office

    Our household has MANY frustrations with the Daisy Mountain P.O. branch, but I'll share only the four most recent. Yesterday, I realized that we hadn't received Monday's mail, which I knew included at least 10 pieces (we subscribe to Informed Delivery and get morning emails showing us what to expect that day). There were 4 tax notices and other important things--not just junk that we could afford to lose. Because we've previously had our mail delivered to our neighbors' boxes and theirs to ours, that's what I figured had happened again. AND because of this, one neighbor had had the forethought to leave one of their mailbox keys with us before they left Arizona for the summer--very lucky for us because that's exactly where our mail was--in addition to another batch belonging to a family on an entirely different street! And that neighbor's box is supposed to get NOTHING because all their mail is supposed to be forwarded! The previous time this happened, a few weeks ago, none of our neighbors actually had our mail, so I tried calling the branch to report it. I called for 4 days, waiting to get through the phone tree only to be transferred to--a BUSY SIGNAL. For 4 days! So I drove there, a 24-mile round-trip, and stood in line at the window to speak to the branch manager. When I told him my problem, he disappeared for many minutes only to appear with our lost mail--but no explanation of what had happened or when it ever might have been delivered to our box. The man ahead of me in line had had exactly the same complaint--mail regularly being put in the wrong boxes. The manager said that they were aware of the problem and were addressing it. Clearly it has yet to be addressed. Yesterday I saw the same subcontractor delivering mail to our boxes... I don't know if that person has reading problems, or is just in a rush to get gone. We also have huge problems with outgoing mail. On 8/19, I dropped a postage-paid pre-addressed envelope (to our bank in Scottsdale) in the outgoing mail slot. It arrived at the bank on 9/13. It took 3 WEEKS and 4 DAYS to reach the bank--18 miles away. When we need to mail envelopes to the bank's processing center in El Paso (also using pre-addressed, postage-paid envelopes), it takes anywhere from 6 to 14 days to get there. I could drive to El Paso myself in 8 hours. Most frustrating of all is that we're stuck with them and from all reports it appears it's only going to get worse. I just tried calling again (twice), but got the same busy signal. If you also feel a need to complain, please do, but you'll probably have to go and do it in person. Calling is hopeless.

    This staff is so rude. The package pickup window is open from 8:30-4:30 today I rang the bell and waited and no one answered. Waited five minutes while other people are walking in getting in line. Finally I asked the girl at the counter and she looks at me like I'm stupid and said no one is working that pickup. They talk down to people and have very little patience for questions. If I had a choice I would go anywhere else. I dread walking into this building.

    Here we are again all my neighbors are telling me stories now how much this post office sucks!! I will keep posting until we finally get shit fixed , this is ridiculous a week ago I ordered a package , called Amazon why it's not here as of yesterday I finally got an update saying it was dropped off at dock of our US PS I still haven't seen the package what the hell is going on I wish they wouldnt use USPS ! Amazon needs to just drop off straight to your house!!!!!!!! By the way # 2 lock box that is on our gang box for our big packages is still a broken key in lock with a rock in i the box !!!!! they have never fixed it I'm trying to get a hold of the postal inspector this is ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm on my third set of owners and the previous 2 were friendly and very much created a community (Moon Valley) atmosphere in the store. Not so with the new owners who took over late last summer. I would now describe the store and owners as cold, unfriendly and definitely not helpful. Last week I attempted to drop off 2 packages to return to the original merchant. Several stores do this (Old Navy, Gap, Natural Life) ...the customer wants to return an item. The customer fills a form on the company website, prints out a receipt, and a mailing label, and is supposed to drop off the return package to a mailing facility. Usually, the returning package needs to be resealed, and the new mailing label taped on. I've been doing this for years at Moon Valley Postal and, in fact, did such a return about 4-6 weeks ago with no problem. Easy-peasy. This time when I dropped off my packages, the employee looked at me like I had just dumped a pile of dog poop on the counter. I was then informed that the packages could not be returned in the manner they were left. Yes...I told the employee that I needed the package to be sealed and the return label taped on. I was informed "We don't do that." When I pointed out that it was no problem on a return that I dropped off previously, I was informed "We don't do that anymore." Hmmm...I wondered why the change in service? Was the employee too busy? When I walked in, there was no one else in the store (in fact, the last couple of times I have been in the store, I was the only customer there.) And the employee was just standing behind the counter. So, I don't think that sealing my packages was really taking them away from a bigger task. Is it a cost issue because I would need them to seal the package and return label on using their mailing tape? How much does a roll of clear mailing tape cost? So, after I was told that they "no longer do that anymore" I scooped up my packages and headed out the door to the UPS store across the street. The employee called out a cheery "Have a Nice Day!" as I left the store. Yea...you too!
