The worse customer service! Not receiving my mail for two months, it goes back non-deliverable. I have called and make a report in regards to my problem and nothing has improved! My bills aren't arriving and that's interfering with my credit. I've been sent to collection agency's due to me not receiving my mail. I didn't even want to give it one star. Post office services like these are the reason why more consumers are using different Methods of shipping. If I didn't need my sons passport I would even bother stepping foot in this place. First and foremost, they only process 13 passport applications a day from the hours of 10am to 3pm with having to sign in at 9am. Monday through Friday. Unless you take a full day off from work you won't get this done. How crazy ridiculous is that? Really? It takes you this long to process applications? I work in the mortgage industry and I can get you pre-approved for a home loan in less than two hours. As my husband and I arrive we notice a clerk asking if anyone had any questions. This was literally what this individual was doing. Not helping with the line, not helping with passport applications, just asking anyone If they had any questions. I am freaking beyond angry that I had to write a review while sitting outside of this post office. I was trying to mail a large thick envelope to Canada. There was a very long line that goes to the sidewalk. I've tried to use the Kiosk first but it only take letters mailing to Canada. I got back in line, after 30 mins of waiting and I got INSIDE the door 2 mins before they close. I asked this black lady behind the desk to give me the small international form. She kicked me out of the post office saying they are closed and can't take any international shipping, to try the kiosk or come back tomorrow. I told her that I've tried that. She said come back tomorrow. There were like 10 more people standing in line outside that door which they have not closed or lock the door. I told her I'm in here before they were closed, why can she just process my package, her reply was blame it on the government because it is the pandemic. I really wish I could give a good review as this is in my home town but I can't. The service is bad. I've seen the employees be rude to customers infront of me. They don't give accurate answers/rates and don't double check when you ask them too. They just confidently give you incorrect information. I paid $50 to ship a package to a military base. I shipped the same size and weight package at the Covina location and it was only $13.60 with insurance. When I asked at Montebello I just got attitude. The girl wouldn't even look at me. Like she didn't want to explain anything and just said that's what it is. No one is here to serve, just collecting paychecks. read more

First time getting great service here. I went to renew my passport and everything went smooth and fast, Steve was very nice for the first time that was very surprising. I'm glad that they're improving the way they treat people. Only thing I would say is COME PREPARED if you're applying for a passport, come at 9 am and sign up, bring all your documents and fill out the application that they provide there. If I could I would rate this post office a minus! The carrier is rude. He stop delivering my mail because only one time I had my dog outside in the front yard and I was with my dog he is never alone outside. So the carrier was next door and ask me to put my dog inside, so I did no worries. The I stopped getting my mail, didn't now why. This started in August and on Monday September 9th I finally received all my mail, it was stuffed in my mail box, ripped up bills, medical test results I was waiting on. So the next day Tuesday 9-10 I arrived home a little bit early and saw the carrier coming. I ask him why he had not delivered my mail, he said cause of my dog was outside. I told him the dog is inside the house and he only comes out when you already delivered the mail. He said he told his supervisor but he never left me a letter telling me why he wasn't delivering the mail. He also said he was doing me a favor by delivery my mail. A FAVOR!! Really?? Isn't this his job?? This is a government job and my taxes along with everybody's who pays taxes pay his salary?? He said he was not going to deliver my mail anymore so in other words he is not going to do his job right? He kept his word, I didn't get my mail on Wednesday 9-11. So Thursday 9-12 I called his supervisor and she argued with me and said the carrier send a picture of my dog, however he only took a close up of my dog and didn't add me in the picture, didn't tell his supervisor he ask me to put the dog inside. The supervisor was very very rude to me told me in so many word it's my fault. What!!! She said if I don't keep my dog restrained they are not going to deliver my mail. I ask the supervisor for her name and she just gave me her first name Amy, I ask for her last name and she wouldn't give it to me. The carrier told me his name is Kevin or Kenny. When I told her his name Amy said she didn't have a carrier by that name. Then she put me on hold and all of a sudden when she came back to the phone she told me why. Very bad service for passport application for my son was denied by Jeff I believe his name was wanted a court order that i dont have how did he want me to have a court order if i dont even know where my bd is at. I re-read over the form i had to take and nowhere did it say it was mandatory as long as i had the seperate form which i did. This is the most convenient post office near me and it is shameful. It was probubly built when there were like a couple hundred people living around here. Way too under staffed. It takes about twenty minutes just to buy a book of stamps ever since they for whatever dumb reason took out the automatic stamp vendor. Theres no parking ever. The people in there are always tempered because their lives are sooo much more important than you or I (Enter sarcasm here). This is just a horrible place for simple everyday transactions. The worst fricken post office in history. They open the doors super late. Building should open at 9am being that it's a government building, not whenever the employees want. Where to begin! If I could rate a negative star...I would. I am LIVID!! I no longer live in Montebello and my forwarding address wont be available til July 1 so that is why I have to put it on hold. I put in a "general delivery" hold on my mail April 25th and to begin on May 9th. I received the letter from USPS stating that it would be done, all should be good, right? HELL NO!! Why do I go today to the post office and they say they have NOTHING for my address. I find that hard to believe that I or my family has no mail for almost 2 weeks. Then the Asian guy behind the counter who is hard to understand because of his accent tells me maybe I didn't do it right. I told him, you're the one who filled out the forms for me and assisted me. He tells me I have to contact my mail carrier. REALLY? I said, I have to miss work to come back to Montebello and wait at a house I no longer live in to wait for the post man. I don't think so. He said all I can do is call tomorrow morning and ask for Christine and she'll contact my mail carrier. This is ridiculous. I left after giving them a piece of my mind, and drove back to my old address. So here and I am driving around looking for my mail carrier around my old neighborhood. Luckily, the mail carrier was there. Unfortunately, it wasn't our normal carrier. So he called our normal carrier and he said he forwarded all of my mail. Forwarded it to where? There was not a forwarding address, it was on hold. Which means they sent it all back to the senders. If I'm late on a bill payment or a traffic violation because I never received it because the post office is f**ken retarded...I'm going to go back in there and cause another scene. How do I get a job at the post office? You obviously don't need much of an education to work for the government because they can't even read simple requests. And I agree with Alma W. These employees need more training on their work. So I went to pick up a package at the Montebello Post Office because I received a pink slip because nobody accepted the package when delivered. I went the next day and was told my package wasn't there despite me having a pink slip and the mail person writing down the address where I needed to pick up from. I told them that the tracking history said it was there. In there words they "don't know". That same night I got an update saying my package departed from the Montebello Post office (the same place I went and was told it wasn't there). These employees need more help because when I went there was a long line, other people's packages were "lost". Additionally a white man helped me out and told me he'll give me a call along with an update. Turns out this employee is a liar and now my package is In New York heading back to the seller instead of me receiving it. Horrible service! So, I'm waiting for my check and I see the mailman across the street, but I also noticed he was on the phone as if he was waiting for someone to pick him up. After 10 minutes, a caravan picks him up and drives away from our block... mind you, it's now almost 4:00 p.m. Waiting about 45 minutes (now 4:45 p.m) to see if the guy will return. Nothing. I opted to call the post office to find out if my mail will be delivered. I spoke with a supervisor "William" and after waiting on hold for 5 minutes at a time, for a total of 15 minutes, and convincing him to call his route guy to confirm if he was still out for delivery, his response was "I have no idea whose on your route today. I just walked in at 1130am to begin my passport application and received the worst service from an employee named Jeff. Very rude , I was running late . The instructions said the process takes 15 mins per person . I asked if I can at least do the application for one person because I really need a passport for my two children and wanted to at least get one out of the way . The man had was on his phone and it seemed that I was bothering him . He just said I was late and stood at the back of the kiosk on his cell phone . I understand not to be late but I scheduled an appointment for the complete application and photo and when I arrived 20 mins early to ask if they accept card another gentleman said they don't take the photo there and yes they do accept debt card . I would have been on time if it wasn't for me having to look for a pharmacy to take my child's photo . Again I arrived at 1130 am giving the 15 mins processing time I cannot believe that whatever was going on on that mans phone was more important than doing his job . I've seen him deliver parcels outside my neighbors door but he always leaves me a slip that says that he was unable to deliver. We have family member who is home everyday and the front door is ALWAYS open. I needed to reschedule for so MANY times and make phone calls so MANY times to make them deliver, sometimes they ask me to pick up myself at post office, then what is their job? I don't have a choice, this office has slowly but steadily been edging more toward the negative and poorly run side. Lines are always long and the wait longer. Usually only 1 or 2 clerks and sometimes they are kept busy forever with just one customer. I recently delivered mail (an envelope I sent out was returned to me at my home address) to the loading dock along w/other outgoing mail I had. The manager (older African American woman w/glasses) took it and when I pointed it out just said "Oh, okay, we'll send it out" and walked away. Not wanting to make a fuss (I'd previously taken another envelope returned to my office) I left. On Good Friday I got back an Easter card I'd sent out on Tuesday thinking it would arrive in Texas by Saturday, the latest. So I took it to the post office and gave it to this manager. What did she do? She proceeded to use a black sharpie and crossed out the line the mail processor imprints across envelope (I think the card may have been stained with what she did) and said she'd send it out. I told her this was the 3rd time I'd had mail returned to the address on the return label (was not returned for lack of postage) and she made excuses about the machine going too fast, about mail getting stuck together, about everything except...the fact that the mailperson delivering is OBVIOUSLY not checking his/her mail. When I said I'd mailed out early enough so it could receive the addressee in time for Easter her response was "Well then you should have used Express Delivery". What the heck!??!!! She goes back and forth between the back and front asking if anyone is there to drop off or pick up mail. I was standing in line w/a huge stack of envelopes ready to go out and was also carrying over 30 large envelopes I needed postage for so I tried to give her the smaller envelopes. She looked at them and said, no, go drop them off around the corner (hallway) mail slot. Why does she ask if anyone there is dropping off mail if she's going to reply like that? I was being taken care of by Jennie (she is always nice to me but have seen her get catty with some of the customers; the other Asian man there seems to be in an eternal bad mood, the courteous African American man is rarely up front now, and the smiling, helpful Latinos who used to be there seem to have disappeared) when a young woman came in to get some issue resolved. The African American manager was 'helping' her and when the customer tried to get her name, she gave her only a first name. So customer asked for last name. Manager made a snarky noise and said 'no, you only get a first name' and walked away. What a horrible experience for the customer and those of us witnessing such horrible LACK of service, LACK of courtesy, LACK of care, LACK of common sense, and LACK of manners. I think they should be rewarded with a LACK of job. If they hate being there that much, they should leave. Same goes for the mailman who delivers to the 1400 block of Beverly Blvd. He is rude, a liar, lazy, and has no manners. I remember when working for the USPS was an honor; what has happened? Small wonder the USPS has gone (and continues on) its quick downhill slide. p.s. 1 star is too much but Yelp won't allow you to review without this...YELP, how about giving us the option of 0, or negative (i.e. -3 stars) when rating? My package said it was being held here for pick up the clerk said no it's not the driver had it I asked him then why did the online info say it was there ready for pick up.
