I love this post office. I've been coming here for years. There's one guy that I always deal with. It is super cool. I backed down a man may be in his 40s. I can't remember his name right now... Maybe Steve? Anyway, today, I was there on a double Jonathon and he was super gracious and helpful and just made me smile so there's all kinds of good things sometimes I do alone but the people that work here are like really good at what they do and they are a pleasure to deal with so if you don't have a good experience in this post office it's probably more about you. Passport service was TERRIBLE. Made an appointment at 10. Arrived at 9:45. The lady at the counter told someone in the back there was an appointment. We were asked to wait in the lobby. 10:25 still no help. There were now two people at the counter and NO ONE else in the building except us and another passport appointment also at 10. When we asked about helping us since our appointments were 30 minutes earlier, we were rudely told that they were busy. And yet neither person was doing anything except getting change for a $20 bill. The thing I HATE is you know we need your help and you treat us like without any respect for our time. When asked about the policy for taking appointments Jonathan said there wasn't one and continued not to help us. Then finally at 10:45 helped the first family and then us. What should have been done at 10am now took us an hour and half trip. And after all of that Jonathan smugly acted like he was so "helpful" and kind. DO BETTER! Take appointments on time. That's what they're for. Treat people with respect. You want respect, it's a two way street!! read more

Extremely frustrating experience with USPS passport services. First of all, they only offer passport appointments on weekdays--not weekends--which makes it nearly impossible for people who work 9-5 or multiple jobs to access this service. I had a 2 PM appointment, arrived early at 1:40 PM, and still left after 3 PM without getting my passport. Only one person was handling all passport requests, and the environment was chaotic and disorganized. Staff were dismissive, unhelpful, and honestly very rude throughout the entire process. The first time we got to the front, we were told our form was incomplete--even though the government website says you don't need parental information if you're over 18. We had to go to the back of the line and wait all over again. Then we were told that because my partner has a Connecticut ID, he also needed to provide his Social Security card--something that's not clearly stated online. After doing some research, I found out a medical card would've worked too, but the clerk didn't offer that option. It felt like they were setting people up to fail. The office serves a large Latino community, yet no one spoke Spanish. That's a huge accessibility issue. Also, in 2025, how are checks or money orders still the only forms of payment accepted? This entire process was confusing, expensive, and deeply inaccessible. It's incredibly disappointing to see such poor service and lack of support for the community. The government and USPS needs to do better. read more

A very horrible place to make fun of people they made me wait for hours they didn't attend me at the time of my passport city and when they called me they only told me to change my appointment because I didn't take my child when I took the photos and it wasn't my first time getting a passport from my children and I never took them with me! This post office never ever fails me. They always have all the supplies I need. The line always moves fast and the employees are among the finest I have interacted with inside a U.S. Post Office. Recommend this place? Absolutely! read more

No sense of urgency from associates and there are some associates that are very rude. There's attitude when you ask a simple question.

Came in on a Saturday. The line wasn't too bad. Learned I can ship a box if it fits inside an envelope. Works for me.

Completely unprofessional experience. The staff were openly arguing with each other about how the job should be done, right in front of customers. It was chaotic, uncomfortable, and showed a complete lack of basic workplace professionalism. If employees can't even agree on how to do their own jobs without turning it into a public argument, that's a serious problem. Definitely not the level of service anyone should expect. read more

Terrible service. They frequently loose mail especially if you don't live in Montebello. If you do not live in that city they will not even process your parcels or update any tracking whatsoever, that is absolutely ridiculous because whether we live in that city or not we are still paying for the overly priced services. read more

As a precautionary measure, I am documenting this incident in case any of the vinyl records recently delivered to buyers arrive damaged. Following Clerk #05's accidental dropping of the packages, they remained on the floor upon my return minutes later. I have a PO BOX at this post office and I get deliveries here. My package was sent to this post office, I received a message that it was in my PO BOX. I check my PO BOX and it's empty.Ask the employee at the counter about my package, provide a shipping number and they are unable to locate it. I have a few speculations on what happened to my package that I desperately needed as a gift. 1. The package was placed in the wrong PO BOX 2. The package was lost 3. This is ridiculous!! No picks take at location!! The lady hiding in the office told the guy, that we came too late when our appointment was between 2:45-3pm for our passport! We can hear the guy telling her "come on Jenny" she continues to tell him that she wants to go home and it's going to take too long! Omg I absolutely hate when ppl make you wait on purpose. I had to do a return it's fast & easy This clerk proceeds to talk to his co worker & someone else while they're laughing in there like can you can my code so I can leave he could've kept talking & laughing bt he really made me feel like I was interrupting his time for a service he is PAID to do. Woooow so crazy he literally had to give me my receipt & he pretends to hide relating to a story they are talking about I can't believe it. Very nice employees, but they are severely undertrained. The lady helping the man in front of me didn't know how to use the credit card processing machine and kept 14 people waiting in line for over 20 minutes. Several people left bc they saw it was going nowhere. Again, very nice people, but definitely need more training. read more

I don't usually write reviews but today's encounter was just not right. I made a passport appointment months ago with photo services included. I had everything ready to go in my hands. Come to find out, they don't do photos there because of covid. Why would it book my appointment there and then not have any courtesy to contact me or email me to let me know ahead of time. I showed up and was turned away. I asked if I can go get the photos done and brought right back and the manager said no that I would have to go to Long Beach for a Walk-In service. She said I should have came earlier. How would me coming in earlier still help of the answer would have been to turn me away regardless because I didn't have photos with me. No compassion nor room for problem solving by manager. read more

JEFF..it's time to retire! I've never seen someone be so rude to customers in the short amount of time I was in line. There was a Young guy who came in I'm assuming for an interview. Jeff asked for what time he said 1:20 and Jeff replied as he shaking his head no nonstop, no it's either 1:15 or 1:30 and the young guy said they told me to be here by 1:20 Jeff replied oh so your appointment is at 1:30! As the guy stands in line Jeff yells, Ok imma need ya'll to step back!! As if he was doing something wrong. Now it's my turn. Jeff was upset with me for not having a smaller bill. As he's Breaking my change again he's just shaking his head back-and-forth no nonstop. Hands me my change and doesn't say a word to me as if I did something wrong! This is a review is mainly for Jenny. I was there this past Saturday picking up a package. I observe how 3 people ahead of me didn't get their packages by Jenny. Everyone walked away upset. I know that sometimes we may have bad days, But she's rude and extremely unprofessional. I am not asking for something that can't be done or special treatment. I am asking to receive my packages on a timely manner. Since, I have a PO BOX at this branch. I've only had the mailbox for 2 months and my first package it took me 5 weeks to receive and I never got a notice from them in my mailbox. I am not going to go their on weekly basis and deal with JENNY. I am going to make a formal complaint with the Regional Post Master. People like her shouldn't be working with the public. read more

I came in to mail a package and stood close to the door to wait my turn. I thought I was standing far enough away but the post office man looked at me and just pointed to where the line should have been. He didn't say a word. Just pointed and shook his head. He even continued to shake his head while he was helping somebody else. When it was my turn I told him I was sorry that I didn't know where the line should have been and that I didn't understand what he meant by just pointing. I also told him calmly that I didn't appreciate him shaking his head at me. To that he told me I should have known not to stand there, I shouldn't be so sensitive, and to let it go that it was over. I asked to speak to a supervisor. To this he started banging on a bell and pointed for me to go around to the back window. He then continued to talk negatively about me to the next customer. Worst service I've ever received at a post office. Had an appointment & still couldn't get serviced for my passport because 1. I was 3 minutes late 2. She took 30 minutes to service the lady in front of me for her passport & 3. The line behind me was to long . Ladies at the desk told me I had to reschedule. Nice, now I have to wait another week or 2 for a passport appointment that'll take another 2 to 3 months just to get. Thanks montebello post office. Avoid this post office at all costs. if i could give this place a 0 star i would. system was down, line was extremely long, one of the workers was calling Jeff and he was no where to be found for about 5 minutes. they told me straight up "we aren't like UPS where we pack things for you, you have to do all the packing and taping yourself." they made me pay for tape where i then asked "what is tape that you guys don't have?" she said this is the first and last time i'll be taping something for you. extremely poor customer service and no customers time is valued. need better workers and better customer service. go to another location if you can please. read more

The business hours here seem to be changing constantly. Hours were updated due to pandemic so I went in an hour before the updated closing time to find they were already closed. The next time I came here, the customer service was not good. One of the employees (can't remember her name) is hella rude. I'm just glad my letter/package got delivered. My small package took over 14 days to arrive from Arizona to California due to the incompetence of this post office. The estimated arrival time was 6 days. I used tracking to find out that after my package arrived at the Montebello post office, they sent it out to Daly City in northern CA. Then it went to San Francisco, then to Burlingame, then to City of Industry, then back to Montebello again. So ridiculous!!! Now that I have finally received this package, I have to mail this gift off. This is now a late birthday present. But, I will definitely not be using this post office to mail it. I got to witness some stuff today. It's simple, have your stuff ready to go, and I mean ready to go. They service a whole community. consider the post office employees to customer ratio. The clerks main objective is to keep the line moving. Overall they get the job done. I was there for passports. I was there a bit early, I was asked to wait in the hall. When it was time for my appointment it got done. But like I mentioned I got to witness some stuff, don't think the clerk was rude. The services listed online are not what they actually offer and although it is their mistake, they don't take any accountability for it. I took a day off work because I had scheduled my appointment for a passport renewal for my child, only to find out that the photo services they claimed to have online are not available and my appointment was not honored.
