I've lived in the area for 30 years. This particular post office is a big problem. The issue is that once the manager detects a problem and starts reporting it this manager gets moved. I agree that both Jeff and Jenny are very rude but they don't care. Their job is secured. Nobody gets fired from federal job unless they do a fraud, theft or murder. So they do what they want. And I've made NUMEROUS complaints to USPS administration, attorney general (we had a mailman that was stealing packages) and nobody EVER responded to me. Ever! This is a shame. I'm a public employee myself and there is nothing close to this at my work. If we behave like this we're gone!!!! So I went here to do my paperwork for my passport... first of all DO NOT make an appointment for photos they called you a day before IN THE NIGHT, they said they don't do them because of covid. I had to go somewhere else in the morning and then go to the appt at 2:30. Make sure to bring all the paper work I was there early but they took me like around 3:30... Recently, I often go to this post office because of its convenience. However, there's always a long line of waiting and short staffed. If I could give zero stars based on this one lady I would! some workers need to be retrained they have ZERO customer service!! A lady came from the back yelling at everyone and telling us to back up and stay in our yellow line (I get it practicing social distancing) then she procede to let us know she didn't want to catch COVID (again I understand) but this lady wasn't talking she was yelling at us! I understand post offices are busy and this review is mostly regarding their passport application "walk in" window. So although I researched this post office online to see if my mother in law needed an appointment, nowhere did their page online say "by appointment only." I hope they update that soon. This is not the clerk's fault. He was kind and explained that we need an appointment to process the passport application, he even looked over what we had and made sure we had all the necessary documents. He said they help walk ins on Tuesdays 12-3pm, and it was Tuesday, so he told us to come back. We arrive at 11:55 to see if someone would be available to help us. There is a single clerk and a couple customers so we get in line. At the window he says "maybe at 12 we can see if someone can help you" and he tells us to wait on the side in the lobby area. Another clerk shows up (the same clerk that told us to come back earlier) and since there's only two people in line I figure one of the clerks would help us. No, they don't. And at this point the line is growing full of customers, so when I get in line again, he sees me right away and says, " we can't help you since you don't have an appointment, we have to make sure there's no appointments that show up, so just wait to the side." I imagine there is a way to find out if they have appointments scheduled for that day, but they don't bother to tell you. So we are just waiting, and it's just getting busier so we leave, because they definitely won't help us now with 10 people in line. Also, I don't want to believe it but the clerks were talking to each other and looking at us, one pointed to us, and they were laughing, my mother in law felt like she was being made fun of. So we left. One thing to take away from this review is the post office "walk in" hours for helping you get a passport are a joke, they don't seem like they care about it anyway. Also, they could have just been clear and say: "We won't help you unless you have an appointment" or even "Hey we get really busy at this time so the chances of you getting your passport application done are slim or nonexistent, let me help you make an appointment." Glad I went with my mom in law, had she gone by herself I wonder how long they would have had an older woman just wait there for nothing. read more

MAN! Worst customer service EVER! We scheduled 2 appointments for our kids for 5/27/2021 at 11:30am. We arrived to the post office at 11am hoping to not miss our appointment and be courteous to the representatives since we have two kids under five. When we got there, we formed line behind everyone since there is not any clear signage or directions as to where to go for passport processing. I asked my husband to wait in the line with the kids and I would ask a representative where we should be at. I was afraid to be late for the appointment and be rejected. When I approached a clerk, he was with a customer. I waited until he was done talking and immediately simply asked where the passport line was. Al, the clerk's name, immediately motioned to his left and said that the next representative was in charge of passports. I thanked him and asked if I waited in the line or somewhere else. Al the proceeded to state he was busy and simply ignored me. I walked out and noticed a plain white paper that stated that those with passport appointments needed to wait by the door after informing the clerks that they were in the building for their appointments. I waited by the door while the regular line kept being helped by Al. Soon enough my husband was next in the line Al was helping. When it was my husband's turn, Al stated that he had already told me, who according to Al, I was being unruly and cutting the line, to wait for the next clerk. My husband and I got upset at this point. My husband asked Al to please have better communication skills and customer service towards us. Al got offended and stated he was leaving. My husband asked to speak to Al's supervisor. Al called his supervisor through the loud speaker and left his post. Jeff, passport clerk, looked at me standing and waiting in the passport line, and called the regular line to help them instead. By this time we had been waiting about 30 minutes plus and our appointment time was passed. I stepped out if the passport line and asked Jeff if he would help me and my family. He said yes I do passports but you're going to have to wait until all the people in the regular line get helped before I help you. I was now upset. I had a one year old and a five year old now throwing tantrums because we had been waiting for so long. My husband went to the side back door to ask for assistance. He kept ignoring us. The customers in the regular line saw what was happening and one offered her spot so we could go in front of her and get the help we needed. It had now been approximately 1 hour since we were at the post office. When Jeff called me over he immediately got agitated and aggressive and screamed that he was not going to help me because I had to wait. Jeff said he did things his way and he ran the show, not me. At this point I am very upset. I stand at the counter and tell Jeff I am not leaving. Jeff gets very mad and walks to the back. I wait in the counter with all my documentation ready. All I needed to do was write the check. Eventually Jeff comes back and says he will help me. Jeff takes my paperwork and begins the passport process. When Jeff was about to finish the second application, two Montebello PD officers walk into the post office and ask who was causing the disturbance about the passport. I let them know I was processing passports. One officer talks to Jeff and the other employees and the other officer to my husband. Eventually Jeff comes back and completes my applications. Had there not been any interruptions, Jeff would have been done with both applications in less than 15 minutes since I had everything ready in a folder. The officers proceeded to tell us that the employees called the police on us and falsely reported a hostile customer. We were in shock and disbelief. The cops talked to both parties and immediately realized we were not at fault. The police officers gave us their business card and let us know we could file an incident report. read more

The postal workers we're very rude to my elderly parents. They had an appointment for their passports and I sent them with all their documents perfectly organized. The website states they have photo services.Well the told my parents the form was wrong,which I know is not true and they send my parents to Walgreens for photos.To top it off he wanted to charge my parents $2,000 instead of $200. If the forms were wrong then why did they send them home to complete the exact same ones.The postal workers look messy and dirty.The most rude one was an African American lady that was especially rude to Hispanic customers. read more

Worst service I've ever received at a post office. Waited 45 minutes to be helped. Clerk was condescending and made up his own rules apparently. Clerk 15. I asked a 50 cent stamp & when I gave him a $20 to pay he refused to take it. When I asked if it was a policy he said no he just wouldn't take a $20 for 50 cents. And he just stood there. He never suggested for me to pay another way just stood there and smirked at me. I asked if I could pay with my debit card and I did...when I walked away he laughed because I was upset. I come here everyday Monday through Friday. Everyone is nice and the managers I have spoke with are very understanding. If you get here after 3 pm expect to wait a while before getting helped and around lunch time as well. If you come around 5pm expect everyone and their mom that are coming out work to be at the post office in line with you. I sugggest to go as early as you can and be prepared. Please note that the priority mail boxes and envelopes are NOT free it's sad to see people waste boxes/envelopes just because they don't read the signs or fees. My top 5 tips 1. Come as early as you can 2. Purchase postage online so you don't have to wait in line. 3. Have tracking numbers ready for pickup and if you just received a "sorry we missed you " slip don't expect to get it the same day chances are the package(s) are still on your mailmans truck. 4. Don't yell at the clerks because of long lines if you're impatient ask for a manager. (Be a nice human) 5. Priority mail boxes and envelopes are $5 and up NOT FREE. I had a passport appointment scheduled today and arrived 10 mins. early. Two ladies were busy talking about their next vacation plans and when I told that I had an appointment they told me I had to wait until 2pm. Once 2pm arrived the two ladies disappeared to the back. It is now 210pm and I ask Jeff, who has no customer service skills that I have an appointment and he said that he does them and that I would have to wait. I gave up at 230pm and left. So today (10/28) I came in for the SECOND TIME to turn in the paper work for my passport, the first time I was told I arrived too late for my scheduled appointment I showed up 2 minutes late, this second time around The same lady was about to turn me away do to my passport photo! She said I wasn't looking straight enough and was about to turn me away till her coworker ask "what's wrong with the picture?" She later kept saying "his head is facing up too much"....I was shook! Worst post office! Had an appointment for 12:45 PM to apply for a passport with a photo and got to the post office @12:35 PM to be there a bit earlier. There was a line to get helped out, and just like anyone else would have done in any public setting, I waited in line to get helped out. As soon as I get helped out, it was @12:54 PM and they refused to help me because I was late!!! Argued with their rude and unprofessional staff and they kept on refusing to help. Asian lady who was attending to me kept speaking in another language to her supervisor, which is rude. Avoid this post office at all costs, they will do everything in their power to make sure that they don't help you! I received a "sorry we missed you! We ReDeliver for you" notice on Monday, Jun 22, 2015 for a package ordered online. The note did not state redeliver date or go pickup after date so i assume it will be redelivered. The package never arrived. So on Friday, Jun 26, 2015 I went to post office with my note and attempt to pick up my package and was told someone had already picked it up on the 24th with a valid ID at 6pm. I was also told that the merchant has to file claim for lost delivery by one of the supervisors. I went online and discovered that I could make a claim on their website. (To file a claim. Go to their site usps.com and click on HELP and you will find "file a claim" and fill out all the info.) On Monday, Jun 29, 2015 I received call from the post office about my claim. I explained what happened and was told they will look into it and will get back to me. The next day they called and was told that "someone" else had taken my package by mistake because he had a similar address and he returned the package and I could go and pick it up. She also said that they will make sure the clerks will be more careful checking IDs. On Wednesday, Jul 1, 2015 I went to pick up the package and the person that helped me before recognized me and apologized for the mistake. I noticed that package was opened and was resealed with tape. Although nothing was missing I could tell it was tampered with. I find this post office a bit suspicious. My package miraculously found after I filed the claim online? I hope this won't happen again to anyone. If it does, go online and file a claim. read more

I went on Saturday and there was only one worker there, Why? would they put the rudest,unhappiness and no cosideration person to work by himself. I'm writing this for anyone who is applying for a passport book for a minor with out the other parent . First of all go from 9-1 mon thru Friday if uwant the first apt get there earlier . I was not given this info accurately the first time. I went in on July 3 rd to fill out and send a passport app DS 11. I submitted the notarized statement of concent to the usps gentleman. Along with the pictures from Costco , and the copy of id front and back of other parent . He didn't notice and neither did I that the date the notarized agent signed and the date my husband signed were different so , long story short my passport although I paid extra to expedite it has not reached us . If only I didn't have a P.O Box here. Most of the employees here look super depressed they look like the don't want to be there and have an attitude problem. Sometimes I have to call them to check on any package I am expecting (because they lose them 3 out of 5 times) they say they will call back and never do!!. I dread sometimes to have to come here but it's not all that bad when I see Josie working the front. When I'm in line to pick up a package or some other type of mail business stuff and I see her there I have my fingers crossed I get her to help me doesn't always happen, but it's nice when it does happen. Worst customer service ever. They lose packages incoming and outgoing. Not efficient at all. I scheduled a redelivery of a package that never came. Nor was a notice left. USPS is has gone downhill in the last five or so years.They can't seem to do anything right. None of them are even knowledgeable in USPS policies. Each person there will say something different, because they aren't brought up to speed or properly trained. They guess at best.
