My grandpa used to work at this location and would come home on his lunch break since his home was nearby. A lot has changed since then, and the place could use some upkeep. Since it is only a few blocks from my house I walk here when I need stamps. Usually, there is only one or two people working the front so the wait can be long. However, they are always friendly and helpful. I wish they had a stamp machine because it would make things easier. There's a small parking lot in the back and metered parking on the street. You can enter from either direction. The P.O. Boxes are in the side lobby and mailing supplies are in the front lobby. This branch is closed on Saturday. read more

Moving to a new home with no mailbox, and saw in the USPS FAQs that I need to contact my local postmaster for any restrictions or requirements for the placement of the mailbox. I have now spent 1 hour during 3 different windows in 3 different days called the 3 local post offices (this location + York + Eagle Rock) and on each occasion, the phone rings repeatedly for 5-10 minutes before disconnecting. Literally ALL 3 LOCATIONS! Message for local post office: I'm installing my mailbox, and I'll send you the bill for any changes required based on your inability to communicate with customers. Thanks! I came today 1/24/23 and yesterday after 7:30am and both front and back doors were still locked. Not much to ask for those of use who have PO Boxes and have to work in the morning. I work for the USPS. This office is a disgrace and an embarrassment. We waited in line for over 30 minutes! They have 4 windows and 1 CLERK! Seriously, 1 CLERK! Poor guy. Granted he was super friendly and helpful but SHEESH! He needed help. The line was out the door, it was musty and hot in the lobby. One of the better post offices I've visited. Usually the post office workers are rude and don't care about customer service or you. I walked in and one of the gentlemen behind the counter anticipated my question before I even walked up. He was super helpful and guided me through the whole process and even found me the cheapest ways to send my ebay items. I was confused about shipping to Japan and he even helped me pick the right size and shape box for the best shipping. Its sort of a one-of-a-kind experience to walk into a post office and have kind, attentive workers who actually want to help you. A+ guys and gals. You're my only post office now!! read more

This post office has the worst parcel pick up service everrr!!! On more than one occasion I've scheduled parcel pick up of priority mail via USPS website and they just don't show up. On this occasion, I phoned the day after scheduled pick up and spoke to Maria a "Supervisor," she stated she would send a carrier to my location shortly. Around 4pm I phoned to speak with Maria while awaiting pick up, she'd gone home for the day. Another day came and went...still, NO PICK UP! Silly me, I figured it would be more convenient to have a scheduled pick up as to not interrupt my work, not so! I ended up wasting two days waiting for my parcel to be picked up. Is this USPS location the only option I have for scheduling parcel pick up?! Their Supervisors seem to be in need of re-training. Perhaps the USPS should not offer services that their employees are unable to fulfill. What an unbelievably frustrating experience. read more

One of the best USPS locations I've been to in LA (best being a branch in Beverly Hills where they had a clerk actually on the floor assisting customers but that's a rarity) I always enter a USPS office with no expectations on service and wait time. I've experienced the stereotypical postal clerk attitude many times over. Understandable to a degree, but a deviation from this is always appreciated. Unlike many locations in LA, parking is not a chore. There is a small parking lot behind the building as well as metered street parking and the location is conveniently right on Figueroa. The inside is clean, well-stocked and organized. I never have to approach the counter and ask if there are any more medium size flat-rate boxes. While I wouldn't call this a quiet branch, if you go in the later afternoon, there is rarely a line. When there has been a line, it moves. An older gentlemen was in front of me today on my visit and it made me smile inwardly to hear the clerk conversing with him while processing his purchases instead of barely acknowledging him and rushing him away. This brings me to the customer service. When I've had a question, I haven't been given a snippy answer and left to figure it out on my own. I also have not been made to wait in line all over again when I needed to do something simple like fill out a shipping label. This is a breath of fresh air and I don't leave feeling harried and agitated. Good branch overall. I wish this was the norm. read more

I have two opinions on this post office.. First, I just want to say the in store customer service is AMAZING, they're nice, friendly, and always willing to help. However, their carriers or delivery people are SO LAZY. Like okay I get that carrying boxes all day up and down stairs is no easy job. I'm completely sympathetic towards them for that aspect of their job. What I'm not sympathetic about is how if a package is "too heavy" or has a brand name label on it, they just won't deliver your mail. I called their office and they're supposed to be able to carry 75pounds..which to me is little much to ask but my package weighed no more than 30 pounds. On top of that I said they could leave it inside the GATED lobby because I know it's too much to ask to bring to the front door. They didn't even do that. Instead my package is at their office, and I now to leave work early to go pick it up...thoroughly unhappy, unsatisfied, and annoyed. Like do these people think we'll just forget about the packages we spent money on????? Hire more carriers or find better one please! read more

This post office is A OK as long as you're dropping off mail. If you need a lot of services, the office on York or in Eagle Rock will be a better experience. This post office lacks parking. There is paid street parking and a red curb you can park at long enough to run in and drop mail through the slots or the outside mail box. But the line always seems a bit long and there never seems to be more than one or two clerks working the windows. read more

Terrible service all around! Mail doesn't get picked up for days. I was late with a bill because of this. Packages that are signature confirmation get left without a signature. Mail gets delivered at various times. The lines are long no matter what time you go in there. I'm still trying to figure out what the deal is with the parking lot. I go to this post office as it's close to us Nora and Angel are the ladies that work here daily. The customer service here is very bad either one of them can see there is a line of customer and will not stop what they are doing to help out customers seems like customers have to wait on them . When they have rotating other staff they get the job done. I think these ladies should be moved around as they are to comfortable at this location don't smile or greet anyone horrible service. I hope management reads this and checks on them to provide better customer service or just move them out from that location seems that they are not happy they have a job. Came in to mail a package to England, instead of sending it to the UK, luckily I checked my receipt and they were sending it to the United Arab Emirates! When I asked them to change it I got an insane amount of attitude and was told "just let it go". I am sorry, I just spend $50 to send a package to a friend in England, I am not going to just "let it go" when it is labeled to go to the UAE. (Which they tried to tell me is the same place. Working in a post office I would hope they would know at least basic geography.) I would rather hand deliver my mail then ever deal with the miserable women who work here. read more

This mail carrier for the Lynn street and Granada street area is the absolute worst. He constantly holds things up in his truck and carries them around for days without dropping them off. I was waiting for a delivery which I knew from the alerts, was on his truck since Sunday morning on Christmas Day. The alert told me it was on his truck and out for delivery. T wasn't until today, Wednesday the 28th of December, 2016 did he have the decency to look around his truck and find my package to deliver. Well after Christmas. He is the stupidest, laziest and most incompetent mail carrier in the metro area. What's new right? What's funny is he actually printed up a note saying "how nice it had been to deliver mail to my address this year". I suppose in the hope of getting a Christmas gift this year. Yeah, fat chance. They always need more service staff to HELP these loooooooong lines!!! Wake up budget management!!!!

I've lived in the area for over a decade and this is easily the worst post office I've used of the local options. There is always a long line and one very hard working friendly guy, but there are room for several people in there. The wait is never worth it. I've switched to the post office on York which is better managed or if I really want to get through quickly, I go to the post office on Colorado (not as friendly but much faster). I've also just had a problem receiving a parcel from this post office. They claim to have attempted delivery, both times I was home, but they never knocked. In their system they say they left a note two times. There was never a not left. I checked carefully. I called for redelivery and they didn't show up. I called the office and nobody picked up (I've called this office several times over the past 10 years and never had a call answered). I've called the post office 800 number. They say they can't do anything but lodge a complaint. Yippee for me, still no parcel, more time wasted (total of 4 hours most of it on hold and battling the automated systems the post office 800 number has set up). I suppose my recourse now is to let the package be sent back to the company where from whom I purchased it and dispute the charge on my credit card. More time, more hassle, everybody loses read more

By far the best post office we have done business with hands down. Loopy Heads Creations have been shipping packages here for a year and Angel and Nora has been the best! Always helpful and the service is great. I highly recommend this PO. Will miss these ladies and I hope that our new PO in LV can be as awesome as these ladies. read more
