The reviews warned everyone that it's a cozy place... yes, they're correct! As soon as I was organized enough, I drove over and parked in the paid parking lot behind the building since the metered street parking was full. The reviews warned everyone that it's a cozy place... yes, they're correct! There were two female clerks. Each of them was helping a customer... not bad! There are long lines at other post offices! Soon, it was my turn! The helpful, polite clerk was very efficient and explained everything as she went through my pile. Thank you very much for telling me that my friends should receive the mail by December 24th! Whew! Just made it!

Almost all if they had the self serve kiosk I'd be a regular at this Kaimuki location where it's almost hidden amongst the many biz it's surrounded by which is very easy to miss but with the OG blue mailbox that's placed right outside it does give the nostalgia of the days we mailed our seasonal items. With that I did need to send a box to a friend and needed a box which of course they have besides the generic I love the priority mail box packaging with the flat rate makes it easy to put whatever you need which was there for me along with the prices of what each box are. Right beside that they do have a area where you're able to pack/write or do whatever you need all nice and clean where I noticed a buck of flowers and noticed that they were pens...lol! regular ballpoint and sharpies as well that was a lovely touch to have but there was one thing that I did forget...tape...sigh! There was no line at all and I could've shipped my items but one little major bump in plans that made me frustrated but know that I have a convenient spot outside of the busy locations is here and love that it's a local residential spot. This is no ordinary post office…read more First off, it's not easy to find. Not by a longshot. It's not like you can put the address, 438 Hobron Ln in Waze and just drive right on over. That will only get you to beautiful Eaton Square. When they describe the location of this branch is in Eaton Square, they mean way up in there. You can't even see the office from the street. You need to find parking, and walk up into the complex. Way up. I had no idea where I was going, as it was my first visit to Eaton Square. To find the place, I figured I needed to think like I worked for the Postal Service. OK, so if I was Postal Service management, where would I locate this branch? I'd put it somewhere where no one could find it, that's where. Some place so rediculously remote, there's no way annoying customers could discover the location. Damn right! In the center of the square I spotted some stairs, but I couldn't tell where they went. Yes! That's got to be the way, I thought. Stairs are enough of an impediment to stop plenty of customers. I trudged up the stairs, and around a corner I noticed an indoor koi pond and fountain. Above the fountain there was a little mezzanine. I couldn't believe it, I had found the crazy Eaton Square Post office. There was one window open and a customer was being helped. I enjoyed the relaxing sound of the fountain and passed the time watching the koi swim around. I was very impressed with the customer service at this branch. The employee was helpful and efficient. I went in and asked if they had the new triangular international Postcrossing stamps. They did. The mail clerk hand-canceled each of my postcards and we had a conversation about San Francisco. I loved the beautiful interior and the old ornate PO Boxes that ringed the perimeter of the office. It is in the King David Kalakaua Building and was built in 1931. This place was one of the highlights of my visit to Honolulu.

All of the employees here have always been really helpful with any questions I've had. I remember once I had a medium flat rate priority mail box I was sending out and the worker mentioned since it was pretty light, it would be cheaper to send it in my own box by weight. Very nice of him to suggest that. Parking around the area is metered only and there's a lot across of merchant street between merchant and king. The can be full midday but a lot of parkers are in and out of there fast. The one thing I do want to mention for those that frequent this location is that if you drop off "Click N Ship" items here, the drop off window now opens at 0930, not 0900 like before.

Isn't he so cute all these manatees and being able to send out my letters have a little personality of this big boy floating to his next destination. When I went there were two ECV scooters though one had an out of order sign and the other one had a battery gauge that didn't work (showed no charge). Used the one with the broken gauge (a common thing at most stores) and was able to get all of my shopping done (it was charging when I grabbed it). Also was able to have one of the workers accompany me to the parking lot to take the ECV back.

I hopped back inn the car and on the way back, I called Safeway and spoke to a very gracious lady. I told her where I left the cart and that I was on the way back. When I got to the store, I went to customer service and Alicia came out - as soon as I mentioned 'beer' she pulled out the beer which she had gotten off the cart and held for me. Her name is ALICIA, she is the perfect example of an outstanding employee and an upstanding, caring person. I thanked her profusely, and she gave me a beautiful smile in return. I…read moredo have mail I send out to friends on the mainland and using the USPS Priority Flat Rate Box always makes it so fast and easy to send as whatever fits pretty much fits is a set rate as the medium box max weight of 70lbs is quite hefty. With that the box also has a peel and stick closer on each end is a breeze to seal without any additional tape is the best way for me personally and don't let the size fool you as it fits quite a bit of items. All ready to go I had my parcels in the car and since I was in the area decided to find the nearest Post Office which was quite easy though getting in there if you don't know like I didn't is a one way entrance but as it was a mellow day it didn't matter as I walked in and was surprised how spacious it was loved that they also have the Self-Service Kiosk which makes it easy to ship printing out the mailing label as well so you don't have to write on the box. There's a chute there as well to drop your box in but for some reason it was jammed but luckily they were open so I was able to give it to counter clerk but since postage was paid it could've been dropped anywhere but love this convenient location in Kailua. I drove down to our local Kailua Post Office and waited patiently in line to be waited on by a delightful clerk named "Kauwela" that was manning the entire 4 window counter by herself on a very busy Saturday morning. Her patience, professionalism and consistent friendly customer service, made my wait worth while. There were several customers in front of me that she treated equally with a friendly greeting, patient understanding and exceptional customer service. When my time to be served happened, I explained that I was here to pick up my package, showing her my pink slip that gave instructions to pay for pick up of my package. Kauwela quickly identified that the $32.00 fee was excessive, because the top flaps had a slight gap when taped together. She then removed the $32.00 fee explaining in detail how to insure this type of fee would not take place in the future by making sure the package is secured with flaps taped together without any gap. How refreshing and satisfying to receive caring, friendly and professional service as a US Postal Service Customer! I hope the Manager of this facility recognizes Kauwela for her commitment to providing exceptional service, going above and beyond her daily routine in treating each customer individually as her most valued customer! MAHALO!

Lance who had helped me was so friendly and patient in answering my questions no matter how redundant and chaotic it has been this season. Happy to visit a USPS that had plenty of supplies and not a chaotic line as those experienced in town. Did everything required. Thought it was ALL DONE and just wait for new Passport to arrive from DEPT OF STATE!!! BUT NO... DEPT OF STATE Sent us letter that Application did not properly identify the Acceptance Facility or show the SIGNATURE OF ACCEPTANCE AGENT! How STUPID and INCOMPETENT! NOW we have to start all over again with new FORM .. Another PASSPORT PIC and we will go downtown this time and not waste our time and money on INCOMPETENT PEOPLE!

We still see the clerks having utmost patience with elders that don't understand packaging fees, and the rest of it. They take TIME, never rushing, talking, smiling...and the Kupuna are happy too. The rest waiting in line? NO PILIKIA, no complaints. We still SMILE in Kaneohe, still respect our Kupuna and I pray that NEVER changes, that we never get Gentrified like Kailua--that WAS a beauty, sand blowing over the road, open yards, no security walls, family town.
