Postal services in Honolulu, Hawaii... On my way to lunch, I drove past this US Post Office at Ala Moana Center and saw that there was no line. I couldn't believe it. After lunch, I brought my 3 boxes... and still - there was no line! Is it because it's not the weekend? Ala Moana Center is the largest outdoor shopping center in the world! I expected the post office to have many customers... wow... I was pleasantly surprised! The cashier was very efficient. He asked if i needed stamps... No, thank you! I got my receipt and went on my way! Thank you for your service! My sister and friends will be happy to receive their boxes in a few days!

I tend to shy away from the Ala Moana US Postal Office location.......... Why do I say this??? Well, for the most part, this particular US Post Office located inside Ala Moana Shopping Center is super busy, but whoever thought of putting a post office inside of a major mall, I tip my hat to them, as it was a brilliant idea! Especially during the Christmas holidays! If you ever come here during normal times, the lines aren't as bad, but I will still tell you that this post office location is still busy. In the past, I have braved the super long holiday lines during the Christmas holidays, but I don't blame the post office for the long lines. All I can say about the super long lines is that "it's all my fault" for not getting my $hit together in time for the holidays. Lol! On the bright side, the Ala Moana location does provide longer service hours, and of course, whenever you decide to ship anything using the U.S. Postal Service, the value of shipping an item can't be beat! UPS, FedEx, DHL, or any other shipping service can not beat the shipping prices of the US Postal Service! The parking situation is a mixed bag, because during normal times, it's pretty easy to find parking at Ala Moana, but try coming here during the Christmas holidays, and you might consider going to another postal location. Lol!

I went to the post to mail two letters. I ran out of stamps and they didn't have a stamp machine outside. I was forced to stand in the long line to get stamps. I stood in line for one whole hour just to get stamps to mail off my two letters. They only had two cashiers working and they were moving like molasses. Everyone in line was getting irritated. The woman that helped me was friendly. I know they're raising stamp prices in a few days, so I purchased two sheets of forever stamps from her and mailed my letters. * USPS are raising shipping prices in a few days. The prices in my pics will be obsolete FYI.

Wowowow not even Thanksgiving yet. Line is crazy long!

I am thankful for our U.S. postal service. For pennies they transport my words,my thoughts, my sentiments, my affection, and very often my packages across the country and across the world. Sure it costs a few pennies more now. Can you imagine the logistics and the costs involved in shipping?! And the post office at Ala Moana Center is one of the very few in our state nowadays that remains open until 4:30pm on normal Saturdays. Can the lines get long? You betcha! Are the Postal Clerks as cranky as the customers who have been waiting in line? Have not seen a cranky one yet. They have always treated me with kindness and respect and efficiency and at least six feet of social distancing. Surely we can use a little, or a lot, more of this nowadays. Thank you Ala Moana postal staff for working so hard to keep us connected!

I needed to pick up priority boxes for flat rate for international mailing to Portugal where seven grandchildren are living. I spoke to a rascal counter person, was reluctant to service, but joking with me...funny guy! But if I box my own, it's cheaper than priority @ $109, $200 insurance, and limited to 20 lbs. Hmmmm...But I will need to bring my two boxes to weigh it for first class. This requires another trip and worthwhile to save some money. I'm surprised post office is opened on Saturday? Wow? It makes my life easier. It's busy with everyone practicing social distance, staff and customers required masks, no sanitizers, clerk filling up priority section, and outright friendly atmosphere. It's a nice start for the day after coming from a dark storage place. Now, my next stop? Chiropractor...ciao everyone!

    are people that dumb?

A post office has never got a 5-star from me, ever. I've been here twice and twice have been impressed, pretty much. It's not because this place is fancy and new. It's old and outdated looking. I think this post office is as old as I am. The lines move very efficiently and quickly. This place is convenient if you go shopping at Ala Moana and have to send it somewhere on the same day. The service is what makes this place great. I forgot to do the QR scan code on my receipt to give the USPS credit for this location and the personnel up front, so if you're reading this...good job, guys!!

I came in around 12 o'clock lunchtime and I get it everyone is trying to send their packages and boxes and letters and all that jazz but I do recommend going to this PO because regardless of the line they are very efficient. Although I do wanna recommend that they should start putting some sticker social distancing indicators outside of their doors because it was just crowded and I wanted to tell this lady to put on her dang mask but I hope that someone else advised her to do so I did learn something today too... The brown boxes are so much cheaper to mail rather than the flat rate boxes... The large flat rate USPS box that I was initially supposed to mail would've been $21.10... But it's a good thing that I had brought everything in my car, and I found a bigger box to fit everything rather than the large flat rate box squishing everything inside. The brown boxes are definitely better and a few dollars cheaper... I only paid $4.99 for the brown "S&S 15x10x12" box + 14.95 for priority mail. And I still had space to fill which is pretty great. If you are shipping internationally, make sure that you are standing on the left-hand side of the store and that you also fill in a customs declaration and dispatch notes prior to shipping your items internationally. Good luck and happy holidays!

    It was "Hotmail" in here

TALE OF TWO POSTMANS---There are those days when you just gotta go to the post office to get some stuff mailed off before a long weekend and this location inside the Ala Moana Shopping Center, happened to be one of the locs that was close in proximity and last to close for the day. I parked and carried my boxes down 2 flights of stairs (elevator was taking too long to come yo) to find a line about 20 deep outside the post office, and probably around another 20 more inside. With 30 minutes till the supposed close time, I wondered if I would make it. The procastinator in me decided I should probably at least start to write the addys on the boxes while I waited. Surprisingly, the line was moving quick and by the time it was 5 after, one of the workers scooted everyone in and locked the doors. That woulda sucked if anyone showed up just as that happened, but a 5 minute buffer was unexpected and much appreciated. Once I came inside, it felt like the 20 or so people in there with me were packed like sardines in a can. It did not help that there was no ac or the ac was broken and peeps were starting to sweat. I noticed there was a section with shipping supplies and a shelf with Hallmark cards (perfect for procrastinators such as myself) and the opportunist in me couldn't help but think this would be a perfect place to sell some small bottles of deodarant too! Anyways, I was impressed with the speed this was going partly because there was an assembly line of workers cranking thru each customer. I also was funneled to the international line which made it slightly quicker too. I get up to the clerk and tells me I needed to fill out some additional forms. So before I get started he kinda scolds me about it and tells me to wait so he can explain exactly what I needed to do. At this point Im hot and sweaty and need to get out of there asap, so I just wanna get this done as quickly as possible. It takes me another 15 minutes to fill out the additional forms because the one I had done didnt have enough "lines" to write everything down. I get done and I'm near the back of the line now, I cringe that I might end up with the same grouchy clerk again lol, but rolled a save when it was different postal clerk the second time around. To my surprise this clerk was very calm, understanding, and nice, however, he informs me that I filled out the wrong forms and he points me to the correct forms, unngghh, why did the first clerk tell me to do those other forms. At this point its gonna take me another 10 to 15 minutes again. The clerk assures me to take my time and that they'd be there for awhile anyways. I'm the only one in there now when I finally get the forms done. I give the postal clerk my forms and they input the info into the computer. Here's the thing though, wouldnt it have been more efficient if I just relayed all the info to the clerk instead of filling out the form and then they gotta put that info into the computer anyways? Anyways, that might make too much sense and I wasn't about to go postal about it. They moved quicker than other post offices that had even with less people and I was glad to finally finish and get done. Sometimes its better to let the postman ring twice! 5 stars for the 2nd Postman, 2 Stars for That first one, Rounding up to 4 for speed.

At every Post Office, there's always multiple mail clerks working at the windows. There's usually a super nice and patient one that's helpful and considerate, and then there's the one that just looks angry all the time who is impatient, rude, and feels like he or she doesn't want to be there. While you wait in line, you look at each clerk, listen to their voices, and then you see most are pretty nice and friendly, then you spot the ONE that immediately makes you cringe and hope and pray he or she doesn't call "NEXT" when you're at the front of the line. But all the hoping and praying fails as the sound of "next" came from That one. Your heart sinks and you hesitate to move as your eyes begin to scan at the other clerks to see maybe they're finished and hope they will say "next" as well, so you can avoid That clerk. Nobody??? Damn it. I don't normally visit this Post Office because it's generally super busy being located in Ala Moana Shopping Center, and being on the ground level below Longs and near Marshall's, parking is almost always difficult. Now that Ala Moana is mostly closed, parking is super easy! I came to this specific post office is because I needed to mail a package and received an email regarding a promotion from Ala Moana. The promotion listed the US Post Office as one of its participating merchants, but postage stamps purchases don't qualify. I wasn't sure if shipping fees qualify so I decided to come ask as nobody is working at the Management Office at that time, and calling their number sends me to the Security Office. There was no line when I went (but immediately built out the door when I finished), and it's hard to find That one bad clerk with the plastic coverings and masks on the clerk's faces. Well, I got the One. This guy was an absolutely jerk who was inconsiderate and not helpful at all. I asked him about the promotion and he says, " I have no idea what you're talking about." I tried to clarify and I showed him on my phone. He says he couldn't see it, so I made it more bigger, and he just glanced and said he couldn't see it again. Okay??? You can't ask anyone? I just moved on. I asked him about the flat rate pricing to a specific country because it just stated the starting price on the box. He walked over to the display boxes and told me the box sizes. Wow.... I'm not blind or an idiot. I just thanked him and left. He said nothing. He was one of the biggest jerks I've ever dealt with. No idea how he has a customer service job. My next visit was a complete 180. I got confirmation from Ala Moana about the promotion. I was seeing if that jerk was working, but he wasn't. Thank goodness! Hopefully I don't get another one! Luckily I didn't as the guy who helped me this time was incredibly helpful, considerate, understanding, and friendly. He was very thorough and made sure everything was correct and informed me of what he was doing. The whole process was smooth and quick. Overall, it's the US Post Office. It's essential, and a crapshoot on getting a good or awful clerk. I guess it balanced out for me. This post office is a convenient location within Ala Moana and everything is stocked and organized inside. There are clear markers on the floor or ensure distancing.

This is the only post office in my area open til 4:30pm on Saturdays!

That will only get you to beautiful Eaton Square. When they describe the location of this branch is in Eaton Square, they mean way up in there. You can't even see the office from the street. You need to find parking, and walk up into the complex. Way up. I had no idea where I was going, as it was my first visit to Eaton Square. To find the place, I figured I needed to think like I worked for the Postal Service. OK, so if I was Postal Service management, where would I locate this branch? I'd put it somewhere where no one could find it, that's where. Some place so rediculously remote, there's no way annoying customers could discover the location. Damn right! In the center of the square I spotted some stairs, but I couldn't tell where they went. Yes! That's got to be the way, I thought. Stairs are enough of an impediment to stop plenty of customers. I trudged up the stairs, and around a corner I noticed an indoor koi pond and fountain. Above the fountain there was a little mezzanine. I couldn't believe it, I had found the crazy Eaton Square Post office. There was one window open and a customer was being helped. I enjoyed the relaxing sound of the fountain and passed the time watching the koi swim around. I was very impressed with the customer service at this branch. The employee was helpful and efficient. Probably because he doesn't have to deal with the same number of customers other post offices do. Mikey C says: well played, Post Office Management!
