Getting there: If you follow the GPS directions you'll be ok but make sure it doesn't take you to the back of the building like mine did. Experience: I've been here a couple of times just to drop things off. It's a small post office so it doesn't get too crowded, at least from what I've seen and heard. Absolutely horrendous post office to have to go to. I would rather be stuck in the busiest of DMV's on a saturday afternoon than have to make a trip to this post office. Time after time again they have proven to me that making the drive out to patton PO is worth it every. single. time. My parents recently both passed and I am 25. I had no idea where my dad had the mail box keys, and I simultaneously lost my wallet with my personal ID. This post office refused to help me get a new key to my mailbox and suggested I research the proper documents I need to obtain to get a key switched out. Thankfully the supervisor (latino fellow) was helpful and nice given my situation. Besides the one supervisor however, all three ladies at the front counter hate their jobs and you can tell. They are very short in their responses, blunt, and treat you as if you are an inconvenience if you are not 100% up to speed on all the ins and outs of the processes. I went to get a passport for the first time. Made an appointment, brought all my documents, and expected to be allowed to fill out the form at the office due to not having access to a printer. Instead of politely explaining to me that due to time constraints they cannot allow me and I must reschedule, I was told "Its your responsibility to ensure you have all forms and documents needed for your appointment, you should have came and grabbed a form before your appointment" (mind you this is after I was told they dont provide the forms). I went to the Post Office off of Patton today, and although I had filled out the form in blue ink due to my ignorance of that rule, the man said "dont worry! we wont turn you away! just go ahead and go copy it onto that form in the back and we'll get ya settled!". And yes there were other customers they were helping. 0 out of 10 for the PO in Highland, I will never step foot in here again. Customer service is laughable. read more

Terrible experience today due to rafas terrible management skills. I am coming far and Rafa had scheduled my family and I an appointment knowing they are already filled and can't even take any pictures for passport. He never disclosed this information on the phone as I would've just stayed home. Rafa needs to get it together and actually step out of the back to see what's going on to address customers. When I asked to speak to him he just popped his head from the door couldn't even walk up to me face to face very unprofessional and lazy on his part. read more

As stated above, older African American woman is VERY rude and disrespectful, last month the carrier delivered my wife's medication to the wrong box, my wife went 5 days without her medication and just today was tracking her medication and got a tracking notification saying the carrier couldn't deliver because no one was home to sign for it...I have 3 cameras out front and a ring doorbell, NO ONE came to my door and they DID NOT leave a notice saying they couldn't deliver in the box or on the door..the lazy carrier flat out lied about trying to deliver and now we must go deal with them to pick it up and again my wife will have go without her medication for a couple days. My mother moved into the San Carlo townhomes in highland and whoever is on this route is absolutely lazy. My mother is disabled and relies on packages delivered for her everyday items. If something is delivered via USPS & is too big for the parcel locker if all the parcel lockers are full they won't even attempt to leave it on the porch. Her front door is literally 6 feet away from the mailboxes and these are condos that don't have upstairs units. Her packages also have label instructions to "leave at front door" I have never seen this lack of service from the other US post offices. I hear nothing but problems from the highland location about lazy workers with terrible attitudes. If you're struggling with receiving your packages I urge everyone to write a letter to the postmaster. read more

I'm honestly Surprised to see the Highland postal Service has more then 1 star. I've unfortunately had the worst experience for almost 7 years. Although our carrier(s) hasn't been consistent, I see most have decided to act out their "stigma" and continue to act "postal." My issues with the Highland post office (distribution center) started 5 days before I delivered my baby in 2015. The mail lady (Ruth or Rose) had been so frustrated with our trash cans placed in front of the mailbox by the Trash Service that she deliberately took it out on us/ me by placing all the trash cans directly in back of my vehicle. (We have video & photos) Well, this year our mail carriers in Highland must be postal again, becoming extremely reactive and inconsiderate towards residence who have nothing to do with where the Trash service places our trash cans, even though the trash service is kind enough to put them near our curb (Thank you Trash service for that You are thoughtful). I have Contacted the manager in the Highland distribution center and He felt that customer service was supporting his incredibly out of line employees. Remember when postal employees had to walk? Now they're complaining about having to get out of their vehicles?! What is happening?! Well, I guess this would make for a great Story for the Highland news paper, Social media posts, Radio industry and even the Sun news paper; "Postal Mail Carriers taking out their frustrations on residence," Since I'm unable to get a hold of anyone to resolve this issue. *Dear Mail carrier, we are all Customers to someone everyday. My experience here was very uncomfortable,The old African American woman in her mid 60's or 70's with the blonde short hair is very rude.i visited recently to pick up my mail and she had a disgusting attitude that was very unpleasant,why work somewhere where you have to work with people and be rude.she needs to retire if she has a problem with doing her job right.invest in yourself people or you'll end up like her with a permanent nasty attitude at a job you hate being rude to your company's customers.is this how a government property represent themselves, its such a shame they don't go through the proper training to make sure they're employees take care of they're customers and make them feel comfortable using they're service. read more

I feel like I have managed expectations when visiting any post office - they're not necessarily known for their speedy, efficient service, but this location is totally adequate, clean, and spacious. I've never really been when the line has been outrageous, but they definitely take their time doing their thing. They should either change their attitude or be fired. I hope management will do something about it. Difficult to get into and out of during high traffic times. No outside bins for letter drop-off.

Worst experience! I had to return a package and got into line as there was no other visible sign saying to do otherwise. Apparently, "If you are just dropping off you don't need to wait in line" the manager screamed at customers and then starts reprimanding the staff in front of us because there were to many people in the lobby. Yet there were only 2 cashiers and nobody manning the door. Everyone was visibly uncomfortable but were to shocked to say anything but left upset. I had to take it up with the district office and they aren't happy with how this office is handling this issue. This is the 3rd package in a month I had either mis-delivered or missing. Well staffed, organized and clean. Desk clerks are friendly and seem to enjoy their work. The clerk who assisted me was proactive in finding the most affordable postage option that met my needs for tracking, signature confirmation and added insurance. She was pleasant and even had a decent sense of humor. I can't recall ever smiling when leaving a post office, so this was a first for me. read more

I wish I could give this place zero stars. I have lived at the same address for 8 yrs and I have always had a problem with my packages being delivered. Several times they have delivered them to the wrong apt. I received notices that the can't deliver due to no access when my gate is wide open. It's such a hassle that I actually stopped ordering anything online because I knew it would be an issue getting it delivered. Today I had a package coming in (unfortunately the store couldn't ship to store) I get a notification that it was delivered. So I got to my mailbox and there's nothing so I call this post office and I'm told that the carrier delivered it to the wrong address and she was on her way to bring it to the correct address. Came here for the first time, happened to see it on my way to a different post office. Thought I would make my trip shorter. Big waste of time. The women was not very kind and made me feel like an inconvenience. Then wanted me to purchase $4 tape on top of my package even though I was only ever going to use once. Kind of silly considering at the Redlands post office they will hand me random boxes at no cost if I don't have one and will tape it for me kindly for free. This place is ridiculous. I received a note in my mailbox saying my box was too full, but yet the only thing in my box was this slip of paper. I showed up to the post office at 5:02pm, 2 minutes after closing. Whoever this employee was refused to help my (aka give me my mail) because it was slightly past 5pm. Post office itself is okay, but the current mail man who delivers in my area of highland does not deliver until after 5pm. I, as well as a few other neighbors have had mail and packages misplaced by my current mail man quiet a few times. Some times I will have no real mail delivery for over 5 days straight except for (crappy junk mail flyers & ads) when I know I receive bill statements in the mail. Some days he would not deliver at all. Its very disappointing when I have to make a special trip to the post office just to see if I have any real mail, because they are not doing their job. read more

I'm in this post office nearly daily, for the past year. A couple bumps in the road early on; there are occasionally long lines, and it seems management isn't very attentive to properly staffing the front windows when there are lines. Once a clerk hadn't zeroed out her scale; she told me everything I was mailing had insufficient postage. Their Saturday hours are short. That said-- my overall experience here has been very good. Usually I just drop off a bunch of packages that already have postage attached. When I need counter help, Robert is always happy to help with a smile and a kind word. The staff here is quick and efficient. I ship 500 packages a week, and have been using this post office for years. By far my favorite location. The staff is all friendly, and extremely Knowledgeable. I have no idea why the other reviews are bad, I feel like people may just be frustrated and taking it out on this post office.
