Let me set the stage for the madness I found myself ensnared in involving USPS…read more I've ordered from overseas vendors a handful of times, and each time, despite my best efforts to plan ahead, there almost always seems to be some kind of hiccup. In this instance, I ordered a gift for my lady from Europe at least a month before her birthday. Everything was coordinated appropriately, until I found out that there are areas in the San Bernardino Mountains that do not receive USPS delivery. Unfortunately, the company I ordered from chose not to use FedEx or UPS, and instead went with USPS. So after a month of waiting, my order arrived in the mountains, and was promptly shipped back to the UK. This might have been less stressful had the vendor been a bit more communicative... they weren't. After weeks of trying to reach them (attempting to coordinate resending the item to a different address across an 8-hour time difference), they finally responded, only to inform me that they had resent the package to the same address, much to my chagrin. And herein lies the rub. They sent that message about a week after the package had already arrived in the U.S.; it had already passed through customs in New York. So my job became figuring out how to coordinate with USPS to pick it up. Now, had most USPS locations actually answered their phones (I'm looking at you, USPS in Bell Gardens), that alone could have solved all my issues. I watched the package move from location to location, making its way up to Big Bear, and then it happened. As expected from the first attempt, I was notified that the address was undeliverable and the package was marked "return to sender." Thank God for Greg, the first competent USPS employee I spoke to since this whole ordeal began! He was extremely patient, kind, and understanding. By sheer luck (or grace), there had been a delay in processing returned packages, so they were able to locate mine fairly easily. Picking it up was seamless. Sam, the associate there, was friendly and laid-back, and handed me my package that had traveled between two countries twice. In my experience, the care, quality, and attention you receive from USPS can vary dramatically from branch to branch. This location stands out as one that truly delivers those sought-after values. TL;DR: Thank you, Greg & Sam, for putting an end to the madness!

That was completely false. So I called Amazon and they called USPS for me and they told Amazon that I could not even come in and pick up my package that they were sending it back to them. Apparently you have to have a PO Box there in order to get anything so I have to have anything I purchase from Amazon sent to the post office via general mail and I've got to go pick it up every time I get something. Absolute joke. You'd think that they would work together on this to keep their customers happy but apparently not. Very disappointed. & the only reason why I didn't give it 1 star is because Daniel was friendly and helpful.

We closed on 11/7 We continued checking our credit card accounts almost daily to find out if the funds were sent and paid. NOTHING! We called Big bear escrow 3 different times and each time they told us the payments were sent on 11/15 and due to thanksgiving and weekends that it usually takes awhile. Be patient...We finally called again on 12/3 and Laura Iverson told us there had been a big mistake on their end and they would pay us the late fees we had to incur on all of our credit cards. WE always pay our CC's on time. Due to this unprofessional business we HIGHLY recommend choosing a different escrow co. And avoiding Big bear escrow altogether. Needless to say it was a very stressful time for us when it should have been a very exciting time buying our new home.

Poor Communication! We are in escrow and about to close and have sent out our closing cost a week…read moreago and found out that we sent it to the physical address (which we have come to find out is the wrong address) and big bear only allows mail to PO Boxes. That was not specified on the escrow instructions (although when my husband was contacted by Barbara Velasquez she blamed it on me that I was informed, lies! She couldn't even return my call to verify the amount to close escrow). Also, we were scheduled to close Monday (yesterday) but they failed to send the final escrow docs to the seller. So not only is escrow extended by two days but now it is extended by an additional week! All because they failed to notify us of the correct mailing address, that should have been done since we do not reside up there. And they didn't even call us to find out the status of us sending funds even though they knew today was our closing date. So frustrated! So now our very large escrow check is floating somewhere with the USPS because it is being returned to our address. As if it isn't enough stress purchasing a property they have very poor communication and definitely show they are not on top of their stuff. Not good when you are dealing with peoples money and property. Needless to say any other properties we invest in; in Big Bear Lake we will absolutely make sure Big Bear Escrow Inc. is not the company we use.
