Nice little post office with PO Boxes available for monthly or annual subscriptions. Easy access to drop off mail at the drop box inside. Service is always friendly and informative. The counter area is pretty small so during holidays the line may be forming out the door. Limited parking but you can also park on the dirt area if all spaces are full. I sometimes take the back street if the main road is a little too busy. It's an easier transition back into town but it's good to see a new crosswalk installed with lights at this block which was desperately needed. read more

I don't often take the time to review places like post offices, but this one in Mentone is such a joy to go to. I drive about half an hour to get to it because honestly, all of the post offices around San Bernardino end up stressing me out either with incredibly long lines or less-than-friendly staff. Each time I've gone here, the wait has been short or non existent, and the line moves very quickly. The employees are warm and welcoming, and it honestly gives a "small town" vibe to the experience. There is some parking out front -- not a ton of spaces, but it's a small post office in a small town, so what they have has always been sufficient when I stopped by. They offer passport services at this location (not sure if they have that at all US Post Offices). If I had to have any passport-related tasks done, this would be a great, non-stressful place to get it handled. Bonus: there's a cute map mural on the side of the building that makes for a good photo backdrop. read more

Having someone answer the phone would be nice. Also, we put mail on hold then came back within the hour after a friend offered to pick it up. We were ASSURED that the hold would be cancelled but apparently that did not happen. read more

I love this post office! Whenever I need to go I will drive out of my way to go to this location. The staff is always so kind and helpful, they make the experience significantly less stressful. I've gone here multiple times for passport processing and they have made it so easy! It's a small post office so they are very attentive to you. read more

Lee, thank you times a million!!!! Every time I have gone here, my experience has been five stars. The post office usually doesn't correlate with positive feelings, but my post office does. The lines are never long, and the postal workers are always friendly. I had been waiting for a package, and of course it was delayed. It was set to be delivered on Saturday, but I needed it Friday. Thank you sooooo much Lee, for making my weekend trip less stressful by getting my package for me. I appreciate you going above and beyond. That's rare these days. The staff, particularly DanRay, were extremely helpful and went out of their way to help us. We missed our passport appointment after having a hard time getting any appointments at all. DanRay accommodated us and we were able to get our passport applications sent in. read more

I love the building and how close it is to my home. I been here a few times however I had 3 bad experiences including today. I'm sorry to say but I can't stand the lady who works there. She's very slow and doesn't really seem like she knows what she's doing. If you're just dropping something off and is simple. Yes she does great. She has a smile but once you start talking about something that might confuse her. She's no help. Maybe I just didn't make sense of what I was saying. But I think it's time to change the worker. Again I love the actual building itself, cute and small but the worker needs to go. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. There is this employee named Lee. He is so rude. I have never seen anyone in customer service who was supervisor be so rude to not just one person but multiple people. I think he thinks he can't be taken off his throne. He was even giving his co worker a hard time. Ughh sorry you hate your job or people seek employment elsewhere. Maybe he doesn't want customers coming in so he don't have to any work. So I just left the post office, and the guy who was taping boxes was so rude. So as I was walking into the post office I fell in the rock pathway to the door. My knee was bleeding and I was shaken up already. So i walk in, and walk up to the counter and say " Hello, I need a money order for $10.06". The guy working doesnt greet me or say hello. All he does is yell to the back "can you help her!" So a lady comes out and is super nice. I start to tell her I need a money order and I start crying. I tell her I'm in pain because I just fell super hard outside on my knees in the rocks. She was very nice and asked me if I was ok. I tell her I'm ok just in pain, and continue to ask for my money order. As she starts to do my money order, she says to her co worker *the guy who was rude to me earlier "omg she just fell outside" and he says something close to "dont try to sue to post office". He doesnt ask if I'm ok or anything. I just thought it was very rude, considering I'm in tears and how rude he was prior. I understand that the post office is busy but I was the only person in there and was not treated kind at all by the man working. read more

I have a PO Box here and sometimes it smells like feces and urine in the back. I'm assuming the homeless have been sleeping there at night. they recently started closing the lobby earlier, because of the homeless problem i'm assuming, but it was utterly disgusting while it was happening. The workers are great and extremely nice, although sometimes the mail being delivered can be slow. read more

I visited the Mentone Ca. Post Office last week to mail a package Registered Mail. There were no "Registered Mail" forms in the Lobby. I waited until the clerk was free and asked for a form. She is mid 60's, long red hair wearing glasses. She replied "I don't know where they are" and waved her arms turning her head side to side without even looking for the forms on her side of the counter. Then she said: "You'll have to go to New York". I asked "you mean New York Avenue, Redlands ?" She replied, Yes, by Home Depot. I asked for directions as I am not familiar with the area. She replied "I am not from here, I don't know where it's at." I asked to speak to the supervisor and she replied "I am the supervisor, no one else is here but me." At this point it was obvious this lady is mentally challenged or lying so I went to the Calamesa P.O. where they are customer service oriented and competent. I paid extra for "Priority" and it took a week to get to its destination. The U.S. Postal Service is pathetic. read more

If you can avoid using this post office, do so at all costs. After THREE horrible experiences here, I will travel into Redlands from now on and use the post office there. I run an online business and ship sold merchandise to customers. My customers depend on timely service and deliveries. I have paid for two-day delivery twice at the Mentone Post Office, and both times it took not two days, but TWO WEEKS for the package to arrive at their destinations. Their response: "Sorry, nothing we can do. All you can do is file a claim and demand a refund on the two day delivery you paid for." That's it. And they make you jump through more hoops to get a refund due to their total and complete incompetence. My first bad experience was when I mailed a package via standard mail. Destination? San Francisco. Guess how long it took? You guessed right: Two weeks. Absolutely disgraceful. They do not do their job at this place. You could be mailing a package to the next neighboring city and it would probably still take two weeks. I also had horrible experiences with FedEx, which has really gone down the tubes in recent years and will probably go bankrupt soon. My advice: Pay the little extra and use nothing but UPS. They are solid, reliable and know how to do their job properly when it comes to package deliveries. read more
