Uhm. I rarely ever go to the Post Office but I went today to pick up something from my mom. The two asian ladies working there seem kinda rude at first, and then friendly to other customers. Weird, favoritism maybe? I don't know. I don't know why there are only two people manning a line of like 15 people. TERRIBLE.. JUST TERRIBLE... =( bleh!! But we gotta cut them some slack! All major postal services had severe budget cuts and always rushed... 2 extra stars for the SUPER friendly and kind lady! I totally forgot her name. She's the Asian one with a short bob =) My friend just started selling stuff on Ebay, and so she brought like 10 unlabeled boxes and screwed up addresses... and had no idea how to get started. The nice employee helped us thoroughly and even cracked jokes! She didn't rush us, even though there were a lot of people in line. -There's ALWAYS at least 10+ people in line. -USE the automated machine whenever you can. It's very quick and efficient. (bring your credit card!) -If there's no parking, park over in the Tae Kwon Do lot in the next building. -If you mail stuff from your home, using via www.usps.com, you get discounts and it's much faster. ********* The Sunnyvale location is SO MUCH faster and has more employees + parking! The black woman working the desk at (roughly) 11:00 am on Tue Jan 15 was incredibly rude. Didn't greet me or even want to serve me when it was my turn in line. Told me to fill out forms that I had already filled out. Didn't offer me a pen when she told me to fill out forms (they were already filled out). US Post Office - Post Offices Near Me - Cupertino, California

Convenient location but the service is hit or miss... Be prepared to wait in a long line here, regardless of what time of day you come by, unless you drop off packages. Also, make sure you know what the hell you have to do when you go. Otherwise, they will tell you to get out of line once you reach the window, and come back in line when you're done, but even then, they're not clear about whether you come back to them or wait in the regular line (after having done this once or twice, they definitely want you to go back to the one big line but you can go to the front, which is at least tolerable). I do continue to come here, though, because it is right by my work. I prefer to just stop and go to drop off packages. Otherwise, it is a nightmare to wait. read more

Ask anyone who knows me, I eBay like a mofo. I am a Top Rated Seller and a Power Seller, so I'm pretty hardcore. I am in this branch, seriously, every other day (if not everyday). I gotta tell you, there is this lady here (and hell yeah I know her name, but I see her weekly so am I going to name her and risk USPS purgatory with her??? HELL NO) that I swear has PMS all the time. She's super rude, and then can turn around and be super nice. Maybe she's totally bipolar?? I know for a fact she's had more than one complaint. I try to avoid her when I can, she does like kids so if you happen to have them handy use them here. Kiddies are great shields against the unpleasantness of the Post Office. My kiddies have deflected her hate nicely on more than one occasion. The positive note here is Vivian and Christopher!! I LOVE BOTH!! Vivian is soo nice, and she could have her bad days too but really could you blame her? I don't know if you know, but there are a bunch of idiots at the post office (sorry, idiots). She does her best, and she does love kids so bring in the little ones. Christopher is super FANTASTIC!! He's really straightforward, funny, and sweet! He really helps out whenever he can, and that goes for everyone here. When you get to know everyone, you realize that they seriously do try their best to help you out. Besides, who else is going to send your lightweight mail faster and cheaper than anyone else?? Also, my local mailmen are AWESOME as well!!! TERRIBLE SERVICE! The postal employees don't know what they're doing. If they worked in a publicly-held company, they would be fired. Instead, these government workers continue to do sub-standard work - without any consequences! I submitted a change of address in March 2012, expecting my mail to be forwarded to my new address. In the first 3 months, they have screwed up three times (yes 3). First they forwarded someone elses mail to me. Some poor Asian man's mail was being forwarded to me for a week or so. Then, they RETURNED TO SENDER all the mail that was addressed to me. My sister sent a greeting card to my old address and it was returned to her as "Addressee Unknown. Unable to Forward." The most recent screw-up was that they started delivering my mail TO MY OLD ADDRESS! Why bother with an address change? The CUPERTINO post office is useless! read more

I'm a constant visitor for this office because I also am an eBayer. But I have to say...I avoid going inside at all possible costs unless I have to. Two of the female clerks are always putting out an unpleasant face and seem to do so with racism (or so I see it). They also get quite frankly annoyed when you apparently don't know what you're doing (packaging, shipping price, etc etc). Oh, they'll explain it to you with a more than disgusted face. Also a lot of the clerks here disagree with each other's statements. I was mailing a registered mail and was told by clerk A you weren't allowed to tape the address area because they needed to stamp that. That's fine and i went home and repackaged. Then I came back another day to mail the same package and was told by clerk B you weren't allowed to use plastic tape AT ALL and you needed to use PAPER TAPE. Huh? Didn't hear that from clerk A. So I was passed their $2.19 large bubble envelope and was told go stick your current package in here and write the addresses and leave the envelope unsealed. He'll seal it with paper tape for me. Fine. Went back and clerk C simply processed the package. Didn't use PAPER TAPE whatsoever and all was smooth. Can you folks please get your statements together? PS. They also can be more expensive mailing things than compared to that stupid automatic machine outside. It's cheaper out there but it likes to say it can't read my card (happened more than 10+ times). read more

The guy said I did not pay enough for my prepaid shipment, but he can not find how much I paid for it. They do not send me email receipt of what I paid, but I have my label printed. How does that even work? Pretty bad system and customer service for the wait time for just a drop off. The guy at the counter looked at me with judging eyes and said that people try to get away with cheaper option by claiming false weight measure. Badly Biased and judgemental. He tried to charge me with another 60 bucks on top of what I paid online, which was exactly 60 bucks. Use UPS for drop offs. Much faster and easier. read more

I came here instead of the Saratoga post office because it was on my way to an appointment. I arrived with 15 minutes to mail my package and got in line behind 7 people. 12 minutes later I was behind 5 people so I left. How does it take 12 minutes to service 2 people? The wait at the smaller Saratoga post office is usually less than 5 minutes and never longer than 10. I'm sticking with them. read more

This is a Federal office that provides a service that we use or need. They are NOT retail and have no reason to kiss your butt and make it a love story. With that being said I have been coming here for over 20 years now and in the last 4 years it's been 2-3 times per week. I can say for the most part that they do a good job. My experience's with Florence, Nancy, Christopher, Jeff, Fred and Carol have been friendly and efficient. I'm also very prepared with my packages and the paperwork that is sometimes is required I have everything all filled out and ready to go and I always have a smile on my face and I'm polite every time I go in. I can see how there are so many unprepared or clueless people who don't know what form's to fill out or the difference between priority/express/regular mail and yes when you have those customers in line that have issues one after the other it doesn't make a very happy person working on the other side of the desk. I do have an issue with an employee there by the name of Derrick McCarthy. Generally he speaks very loudly and can speak to customers in a very condescending voice. He can make people feel very stupid. I only dealt with him once and that was enough for me. My package was ready to be shipped. All he had to do was hand stamp and ask my the usual questions "Anything liquid, fragile etc..." But he chose to tell me I couldn't send my package out the way I had it. He then compared me to the Unabomber and when I asked for him to show me USPS's policy that it couldn't be shipped out that way he couldn't show me and told me NOT to do it again. Well I still ship it exactly the same way I do now as I did before I went through him and never had a problem with any other postal workers. They aren't there to sugar coat things and compliment you. Don't expect it. Just be patient and try to work with them to expedite your needs. And don't be that person complaining about the wait in line. They are processing each person's items and will get to you when they do. read more

Sending stuff out from this place, it takes a while, but it functions like any other USPS place i've been to. tragically, if you're trying to find a lost package or find out where they put it, you might as well immediately call the place you ordered it from and get your money back. one of my packages WITH a tracking number was supposedly delivered on friday with a delivery confirmation... i never got anything. waited a few more days for it to turn up... nothing. after several days of calling and speaking with practically their entire staff who all said they would call me back with news about the package (never did call me back), i still don't have an answer. and no package. read more

While I usually frequent the Saratoga post office, I've been here a few times From what I've seen, they're quick, efficient and business like. It's really important this time of year with the Christmas rush. I had to go yesterday to mail a package and the experience was much smoother than what I anticipated, especially after seeing the line. Yes they could be more personable, but they're no worse than other post offices, Fex Ex office branches or UPS stores. It's also really nice that they have an automated postal machine so you can avoid the line. The biggest issue I have is with their location, as having to make a right turn and make a U turn is pretty nasty and the more natural left is a bit awkward. But that's on the city planners more than the post office. read more

I shipped a package today and it went smoothly and quickly without an issue. Staff was very polite and professional. I've never had an issue here before, but I'm sure on busier days people's moods turn sour... While I was waiting in line, a customer told the woman behind the counter how rudely she was talking to him. I didn't hear anything out of the ordinary until the guy started complaining, so it seemed like he was finding fault where there was none. He was even laughing as he was going on about it, as if to broadcast to the rest of us "look how right I am, and how wrong she is." It irked me how rude this guy was, and I just had to put this visit in a review. Some people seem to have it set in their minds that customer service at these places are bad, when sometimes it's not. As always, take reviews with a grain of salt - some people easily get upset or have a chip on their shoulder. read more

I've been using this post office for quite some time. To be fair, I think they have some good worker and horrible worker. Today I called to inquire about something. This guy, carl, who answered the phone was telling me that nobody could help me today and I had to call in the morning. It was only 3:30p. So I asked what time this person would be available. He just din'tt want to answer that question and became lewd when I asked the same thing a few times. I then remembered that a few months ago, this same guy answered the phone when I called about missing pacakge. He said there's no way to find it for me. Few days later, I called again and this time I got a lady. She was 180. She was nice and helpful. She found the pacakge. I'm glad I didn't totally believe this carl guy. So I think they have some good people and horrible people. read more

The Cupertino USPS mail personnel (carriers) that deliver to my neighborhood (Cupertino) have always done a terrible job in delivering Amazon / USPS boxes to my neighbors homes. I've seen countess times where the carrier would throw the Amazon / USPS box from the mail truck without getting up. Or in the rare event that they actually got out of their truck, they would walk a few steps from the truck and hurl the box at the front door. Needless to say that seen and have heard the thud and sometimes breaking sounds (glass, etc.) from the boxes as they hit the driveway or sometimes as the have hit my neighbors front door or garage. Its pretty sad that we actually pay for this service (or lack there of) through our taxes and actual out of pocket payment and this is the consistent level of service received. Finally, I had an Amazon box delivered to my house (fairly rare) and both the box and product (inside) were damaged beyond use. I've decided that I need to ship my Amazon (and other boxed mail) to my work place and give up on further paying for "horrifically" bad service from the Cupertino USPS. read more

The post office is the 2nd government place I hate. the DMV is the first one. Why is the USPS doing so bad financially when there's always a long line?! I got there 5 minutes after opening (this post office is only open 10 AM to 1 PM on Saturdays) and there were at least a dozen people in front of me. And as I'm waiting in line, I have to get out of line a little bit to grab a registered mail card. 4 workers, which seems enough, but the line just moves slow. zzzzzzzzzz. Everytime I go to the post office, no matter what day or time, it takes at least 10 minutes for me to get to the front and process my request. It's clean and an older building, but lots of parking, although it can be tricky to get into the parking lot. read more

I had come to this location for the first time shortly after it was newly rebuilt and was hoping to find something special inside this new P.O. that I haven't seen at other places. Not really the case, it seems they will still finishing up some basic touches after opening the place and it wasn't all too busy either. But I did come in the early afternoon hours of around 1-2pm and didn't have to wait long in line. My items send were just small first-class packages so I didn't have to deal with too many shipping mishaps with the post office reps. I have probably sent like 6 or 7 things from here, and I know all of them reached their correct destination... so I don't have much to complain about there. On the other hand, the customer service here did seem to be lacking quite a bit. I don't know but I believe it has to do with all the post offices reps. employed here. I barely give them 3 stars overall, only came here because it was so close to school. read more

I was actually having an issue where a package I was expecting from Atlanta, GA was showing it sitting at that facility for a few days. After having submitted an email inquiry the night before, during the day, I got a call from Cupertino's Post Office and I was surprised they bothered to personally call to let me know the package was showing that it was being delivered today. :-) It was a nice personal touch (despite the package being delayed in the first place). read more

I had always used UPS for my Amazon returns. Now Amazon has a USPS drop off option, I made the grave mistake of selecting USPS instead of UPS. Since it was my mistake, I decided to give USPS a try. First of all, I had to wait for 20 minutes for a postal worker to free up to serve me. By contrast, my longest wait at any UPS store was never longer than 10 minutes. In fact, majority of the time I could get in and out of UPS in less than 5 minutes. My service rep was Mr. L Le who told me with great authority that he could not issue a receipt because Amazon paid USPS too little for taking their returns. I asked him how I could prove I had returned the item. He said the tracking number was my proof.. Mr. Le repeatedly insisted that it was impossible to issue a receipt. As I was taking a picture of my box with the hope that the pic would be my proof of return, Mr. Le "asked" or more accurately demanded that I talk to his supervisor in a rather intimidating tone. Since Mr. Le insisted, I said sure. Mr. Le's supervisor showed up and showed me how to get a receipt from the automatic return "machine" in literally a couple of minutes. Since all I wanted was a receipt, I was very happy. When I told the sup that Mr. Le never mentioned the auto return as an option (there were a long line of witnesses in the waiting area), the supervisor said "it must have been some misunderstanding..." well, for someone like Mr. Le whose job is to deal with customers all day long, he for sure lacks of customer service skills AND USPS' product offerings knowledge. Hopefully Mr. Le's sup and management will take corrective action to remediate Mr. Le's glaring shortcomings in both areas. my receipt says go to http://bit.ly/uspsapd1 to "tell your most recent experience". Guess what? I tried but Cupertino USPS was not even on the list of USPS locations on that survey website!!! Of course, I can't give my feedback via their official site... It figures. Mr. Trump claimed Amazon made its profit by cheap shipping that hurts USPS. No, Mr. Trump, USPS hurts itself by inefficient and ineffective employees who drive customers to their competition. Message to Amazon, reconsider your arrangement with USPS. It doesn't help when one of their employees openly claim or blame Amazon for paying too little to warrant issuing a return receipt. It goes without saying, I will avoid USPS like a plague. read more

Don't understand 2 Star rating (mean spirited?). I've lived in Cupertino for 45 years and have always been reasonably happy with delivery, pickup at my box, and sometimes lines at the post office when I want to ship a package. In most cases the post office staff have been courteous and helpful. I guess when someone is having a bad day and want to vent, the USPS is an easy target. By far, one of the worst post offices ever. Just left in disgust...Once again, their self-service machine can't mail packages. This office often doesn't open on time, and is usually out of boxes when closed. During the election, I went to mail my ballot and the boxes outside were STUFFED with ballots, and anyone could have just put their hand in and grabbed them. I called in today to make an appointment to renew my passport. I was told they don't have any appointments available until August. I told Jonathan Valdez to go ahead and book me an appointment for August and he said they are not taking any appointments and to call back in July. But the line was out of the post office all the way to the back of the PO Box area. All I needed was a stamp and drop in mail so I wasn't worried. But the self service machine was broke. I keep giving them a try, but they just keep disappointing. I called on the phone to ask a simple question about a passport app. The guy literally sounded pissed off after the phone rang 30 times that he had to answer it and answer a question of mine. Isn't that what they are hired to do? If you don't want to do the work, then get another job. If you do want to work there, then at least appear to sound like you're enjoying it. I applied for passport recently in Cupertino post office. My experience in the office was actually fine. As of now (June 2015), you can apply for the U.S. passport work-in on Thursday. As far as I know, other days of week are by appointment only. Well, I heard that they accept the first 50 application on every Thursday, and the lady working for the post office on the phone kindly let me know the some people line up from like 6:00AM. I went there 6:50AM-ish. There were people already lined up, or more like sitting in picnic chairs. I mean in the building. Probably no restroom access while you are waiting. Around 8:30, the lady showed up ( I guess she is the kind lady over the phone), and started to distribute number on raffle ticket type of small paper to each one in the line in order. She wrote down family name and number on the ticket thingy. I saw many people just went back home right after receiving the number, and I did the same. I went back around 9:30AM. I expected that the process was going to be very slow, but when I got there she called number 15. I was around 28, and got called around 10:00 AM. Maybe it was unusually fast on the day, buy any way, I saw one number owner did not show up when his/her number was called multiple times and the lady had to skip. I heard once you number is passed, she will not call it again. Well, kind of harsh but anyway.... Submitting two passport application was completed by 10:40-ish. I would say, not so bad and I really do not want be in 7 weeks appointment queue. Hope this helps. read more

If the desk worker calls for a supervisor, just leave! A package was confirmed delivered by the post office to my PO box, but there was nothing in there, so the desk worker called for a supervisor to window 6 and directed me to wait at window 6. About 10 minutes later the supervisor walks out, looks at me standing at window 6, casually looks around the room, then walks away, didn't say anything to me. Because I wasn't sure if that was the supervisor, I didn't say anything, and about 15 minutes later the original desk agent that helped me called a second time for a supervisor to window 6. 5 minutes later, he came out, and immediately was very rude. I tried to explain my problem and about half way through he cut me off to tell me there was "no mail" and the message I got saying there was mail in my box was sent to everyone every single day. I said if that was true I would get a message every single day saying there was mail in my PO Box and that doesn't happen. His response: "I already explain to you, what? you don't get it? cant understand?" I said "No, I understand what you said, but it doesn't explain why the message said I have mail in my box when there is no mail in my box" at which point he mumbled "stupid white people". I said excuse me can you say that again, I couldn't hear what you said" and he started walking away, So I said who's your supervisor, and he said "I am the supervisor, there is nobody above me" which is obviously another lie. So I followed him to the other side, and shouted "what is your name" at which point he stood at the back of the isle and pointed to his ID badge which was impossible to read from there, and I left after that and filed a complaint with the main branch. The most incompetent post office I have ever encountered. Multiple people can't figure out where my package is, even the supervisor (Syasad??) who is rude- got loud with me for asking him to look for my package and hung up. Oh also, 2-day shipping is apparently "not guaranteed" so don't be misled by the name. I do like my mail delivery guy though. read more

i'm surprised at how bitter people are about this place. i've never had any problem with their employees or customer service. yes, the line can get really long, but that happens at all post offices. the parking lot can get crammed too, especially with old ladies creeping along in giant oldsmobiles. i just park across the street in the office buildings, there's lots of shady spaces there. plus, my mom's office is there, so i can go bug her and see if she has any snacks. this is just down the street from de anza college, past the overpass over 85. they have an automated postal machine, which is a huge plus. worth at least two stars. read more
