The award for the worst USPS branch ever goes to the Cupertino office. I have had repeated problems when sending packages to a student in the UK through this branch. For the first package, the address entered into the USPS system was incorrect, because I had written the correct address on the box. The package magically arrived despite the incorrect address on the system, after a lot of difficulties for receiver. Her name was incorrect, city was incorrect and post code was incorrect!! The second package never arrived at all. For the third package, I took a photo of the shipping label before leaving. Although the clerk seemed unhappy that I was taking a photo, I did it anyway. When I reviewed the photo at home, I discovered that I had declared the package value as $40, but the value entered on the label was $178. If that information is used by customs, it could result in significantly higher import charges for the recipient in the UK. After multiple incidents, I find it difficult to believe these mistakes are simply accidental. In my experience, some employees at this branch have been rude, have raised their voices at customers, and have treated people disrespectfully. I have also observed customers being pressured to select positive satisfaction ratings before leaving. Based on these experiences, I have lost confidence in this branch and would not recommend using it for international shipments. read more

I get it. People come here grumpy, then are upset by the fact that it's woefully understaffed. But WHY TAKE IT OUT ON THE POSTAL EMPLOYEES? EVERYTIME I come in this place, I'm greeted by a friendly clerk, some good problem solving, and someone who understands I collect stamps as if they were stickers. Yes, I want to see what everyone has in their drawers. And I'm still baffled that people prefer UPS to USPS. But, it's like that. Lots of folks prefer paying more for less, who am I to argue with them? Maybe I'm fond of this place because it's always the same throughout the years, or reminds me of my childhood? Either way, I love this small branch. I love the employees I run in to. I'm mad it's got so many low stars. read more

Don't go here for passport appointments. The lady doing our appointment was 5 minutes late and asked why my papers weren't filled out yet and was extremely rude saying we would use up our appointment time and wouldn't take our baby's picture while I filled out the forms. She told us to come back for walk in another day. What a power trip. read more

This post office says it does passport photos but the camera has been broken for at least 6 weeks according to staff. But they still let you make an appointment online under the impression you can get it all done here. The staff will just send you to Staples or CVS to get it done and then COME BACK. Wild. The staff at Staples say that the post office has been sending passport applicants to get photos taken at their store for at least a YEAR. Also you need to bring a COPY of your drivers license if you forget they will make a copy for you but it will cost you a dollar. If you plan to apply for a passport don't come here. read more

No problem- I have cash. 20 minutes waiting in line and only THEN do they announce No Internet so no registered mail, no international shipping and a bunch of other things. Really? There are so many words in the English language to describe the people that work in this post office, but to narrow that list down to one word to describe my entire experience would be the word "assholes." Defying logic, this place treats their customers like imbeciles which is irony at its finest. Horrible service and equally horrible customer service. I simply came to this Post Office to drop off a Priority Mailer. I don't live in the Cupertino area, so I can't comment on mail service. The facility looked fairly new, and has all the expected conveniences. I asked a clerk if my Mailer will go out today. He gave the standard answer...."Yes, if you get it in by 5pm." So I had a satisfactory experience here. I like the large parking lot. Close to the freeway too. read more

Nice drive through post office with 4 mail box drop off area. Large parking lot for people that need to go inside. The only thing that was somewhat problematic was that I needed to make a left from their drive through post office area and it took me at least 2 light cycles, since there was a bit of traffic. After talking to my Co worker , I am absolutely appalled and flabergasted at the rude customer service that she had received when trying to get her passport. This customer service lady was short with curly hair in a pony tail, middle aged, with darker complexion. (2/24 in the morning time) From the get go she was extremely RUDE and short with my coworker constantly raising her voice and getting upset at request that were not straight forward almost leading her to cry. This is a customer service job and it should be expected that you can walk into a government agency and not have to feel chastised or feel lesser than. This place is fishy and rude. The last five (5) times I went there, several different workers said they no longer accept credit cards (?!). I went in today and cheerily said "I remembered to bring in cash since you don't accept credit cards!" and they laughed in my face and said "of course we accept credit cards--we have for the past 27 years." I had a PO Box at this location for well over 10 years before moving out of the area. The lobby used to be open for 24 hour access to the PO Boxes and the self mailing station, but during Covid they changed their lobby hours to close at 6pm. I understand the reasoning during the initial phase of the pandemic but they kept it that way (at least up until I moved in Aug 21) and that part I don't understand. Many people don't get out of work in time to get there. At one point I was picking up mail and a man was using the self checkout to send a few things when an employee told him they were closing soon and that he needed to leave. The customer said yes, he was just finishing up...(and he was not rude about it), but the employee snapped back "Well you shoulda come earlier". Yeesh. Is that necessary? I also had a very bad experience with an employee making a rude comment about my appearance while I was silently waiting in line to pick up a package. (Pre-Covid) I don't typically get upset easily but his behavior was unprofessional and completely out of left field. His supervisor told me that they knew already that the employee was problematic and assured me it would be handled but man, something is off at this location. There are a couple of employees that are helpful so the two stars are for them but I'm so glad I finally closed my PO box and called it a day. read more

Not exaggerating at all, this place is honestly worse than what I've seen at the DMV, when it comes to how the customers are being treated by the employees, especially the Asian guy in his 60's. Last time I stopped by was 4/8/2023 and upon arriving a few min after they open on Saturdays at 10am, there were about 15 customers waiting ahead of me, so I first stood in the area where the P.O. Boxes are located. The line moved quicker than expected, but once I got inside the main counter area, I heard one employee berating a customer - the place just opened for crying out loud, so there's no excuse for the employee having a bad day. When I took a look at who the employee was - I remembered him immediately from my one time at this post office, last year. He's an Asian guy, somewhere around his 60's, dyed black hair, about 5ft 3in. If you enter this post office, he'll stand out because I'm sure you'll hear him talking down and shouting at the customers, he sounds hella annoyed and unhappy. I was helped by him last year and because the address on my driver's license doesn't match my current address, he almost didn't give me the package I came to pickup and gave me a hard time. He made it clear that if I ever return, I better bring some kind of proof that I live at the new address (utility bill, voter registration card, etc), or else I won't be getting my package. So, even though it's now a year later, I remembered this and made sure to bring proof that I do reside at the current address, in case I come across that same guy, again, since I'm sure he'll make a scene. Somehow, that same rude employee was still there (a year later) during this most recent time, but luckily, I ended up having an Asian lady help me out when it was my turn, and she was fine. The only reason I'd ever need to step foot inside this post office is to pick up a package that requires a signature upon delivery (which usually ends up being at the most, once a year). Unless you have no choice and will absolutely need to come here, I highly advise to avoid this place at all costs and go to a different post office: it just ain't worth coming here. read more

Maybe it's a boring job, I would rather you just do your job to handle my mail and not open your foul mouth, or quit. This location in Cupertino has friendly and helpful service. Long line on tax day, but moves efficiently. Don't forget to tape your boxes because all US Post makes you purchase tape if you forget and need to wrap. So do the couriers - nothing different. Great location. Lot's of parking. read more

Their dismissive behavior only added to the mounting frustration. After checking she start demanding other papers which were not listed in the renewal site for state department passport renewal site. When I pressed that my son school card is not listed in the required paper and that we have birth certificate and older passport, she start getting upset and saying that it is not post office task to list the document and we should take it to the state department. In conclusion, my visit to the post office for my son's passport renewal was a complete disaster. This is an update to my previous review, I downgraded the star from 2 to 1, it would be negative if I could do that. This place has got such a negative vibe. It's not like someone is having a bad day kind of situation, it's consistently bad across 90% of the staff working there. Impatient, lazy, not willing to help, intimidating(by talking loud to you), and oh yeah, condescending. Incident 1: I dont think it is professional to stand 10 feet behind the counter to provide service(This was mentioned in my first review). Incident 2: I don't think you dont know the mail innovation delivery service and you had to stop me from asking more questions, only for me to leave and google it and come back and explain it to you. Incident 3: I dont think I cannot take a picture of the envelope inside USPS, especially it is the mail you want me to return to sender because of lack of postage, I want a picture for proof, but no I cannot take a picture even aiming at the envelope. If I could, I would give it 0 stars. After my last encounter with them last year, I vowed to never return to this location but lo and behold, they kept sending my packages to the wrong address despite me giving specific instructions to deliver to my address (sometimes there is confusion because buildings are identical). There was a first delivery attempt on Monday as I was sitting right by the door but I knew immediately they attempted the incorrect address. I tried contacting the USPS phone number, who said that due to the pandemic, they were shortstaffed and didn't have the personnel to answer phones. Next day, wrong delivery attempt once more. Again, tried contacting them to no avail. And then it just stopped. On Thursday was when I was more concerned and reached out to them over the phone. After providing tracking information, they said that it was my fault that the address was unable to be located (we get mail delivered here on a daily basis) and said they've stopped making attempts to deliver. Well, there was no communication with Amazon, who said the delivery was still in progress. They told me to go pick it up. Today, Friday, I line up with nobody in front of me, and wait half an hour before I'm helped. The lady assisting said my packages weren't there. What? Yesterday you guys said "Yeah, there are 4-5 packages here, so come pick it up. We're not gonna deliver no more!" And today my packages aren't there? She asks me "Who told you that your packages were here?" I don't know, some man. She said "You don't know the name??" No, I believe when you guys give me information, I take it for what it is. Then I wait another 10 minutes for someone else to help me. The lady who previously assisted me said "I couldn't find it on the shelf" and he said "No, it's not supposed to be there. It's in the vault" and he disappears for another 5 minutes. He comes back out to tell me that it was labeled "BC" for business closed. I explained to him that they kept delivering to the wrong address (in my notes, I clearly stated our business name and to not deliver to the other businesses) and he kept arguing that my business was closed. So I just sat around all day by the door and ignored my deliveries? The gentleman then suggests from now on, I should pick up at the post office instead. Really? It took me almost an hour to pick up my stuff, you guys are always so rude and disorganized, and why would I want to line up with so many people in the lobby during a pandemic? There's no use speaking with a supervisor. They honestly don't care. They can deliver to the wrong address, blame it on the customer, give terrible service, and still give you the side eye when you're leaving. every employee i've come in contact with here are extremely unhelpful. even if it's just a simple task or question like dropping off a package or buying a stamp, they are unwilling to help or answer and bluntly and rudely tell you to look at the sign or go to the machine outside and figure it out. not sure why we should spend taxpayer money paying their salaries when they don't do anything and a machine is doing all the work!! especially an elderly white man who is super snarky and a middle aged east asian man who yells at customers and a red haired young woman who is the rudest, bluntest person i've ever talked to. guess this is the good thing about government jobs, because no matter how many bad evaluations you get and how poorly you do your job, no one gets fired. i suggest you find a different post office, not one can give you a worst experience than the one here. read more

I came here with my buddy during our lunch break. He sold something on eBay that he needed to mail out. Read the reviews saying that the service is terrible here, but it was the closest post office. Let's just say the ratings on this location are pretty accurate. The line moved very slowly, even though there were four people working. When we got to the counter after 15 minutes, the interaction took 1-2 minutes. The person who helped my buddy was soft-spoken and robotic in nature. It felt like she was just going off a script. So here's the things you need for applying: -DS-11 form: filled out with all the info (can pickup form at passport post office or print online) -2x2 photo of yourself (photo meeting all the regulations) - quick tip get it done for $5 at Costco -$110 in the form of a check (cashiers, personal, or money order) made out to "U.S. Department of State" -$35 in exact cash or pay with card for the postal office -original birth certificate or old passport AND drivers license and you need to make photocopies of both as well This is an appointment only passport processing facility so make the appt online!! If you forget to make photocopies it's 50 cents per photocopy. Have all your paperwork together and you should be in an out in less than 15 min. Thank you Carol for being so kind and helpful! I elected to sign up for Informed Delivery that photographs mail before the mail is received. Our current mailman mis-delivers packages. My package tracking indicated that my package was to be delivered that night. I checked Informed Delivery every day. After c a month, my package was delivered to our letter slot, instead of our porch Postmaster was polite and helpful, but something is awry with the process. read more

The Cupertino Post Office is by far the rudest, not helpful group of people I have even met in my life. The first time I saw there rudeness did not even involve me. It was a elderly lady who needed help mailing a package. She needed something that the helper didn't have. She explained how she is elderly and didn't want to go somewhere else and just wanted this mailed off. It was my turn. I had my own troubles and had to speak to a manager. After going no where with my problem, I told the manager, it isn't that you don't solve the problems you are also rude, very rude. I told the manager about the old lady. He then asked another postmaster about the elderly ladies needs and it turned out, they did have what she needed. It was in the back. read more
