Despite the terrible reviews I had a great experience here. I picked up a flat rate box for something I wanted to ship and walked up to the counter. Wish I could give a zero! Try calling this post office...you will NEVER get an answer. It will ring for a while...and then disconnect. Then they go home and put on a recording. Had my mail on vacation hold...and it was supposed to be delivered after that to my home. It's been several days...no back mail delivered. Carrier just says that 'he doesn't know what happened to it...nothing he can do'. Logged online complaints..no reply. So my mail for 1 week is gone somewhere...and no one can tell me where. I don't work in Concord...so can't just drop in the post office to ask...so I try to call..no luck. Unfortunately the USPS deserves the poor image they have. read more

This is for the whole post system. I had a notice for a delivery of a package. I couldn't go to the post office to get it so I made the mistake of scheduling a redelivery. Nothing has shown up. I sat by the door all day (seriously!) I tried calling the post office. Pleasant Hill post office has no phone number and when I call the Concord office "during normal business hours" no one answers. (I've tried this twice) I managed to get the supervisor's number and no one answers that or after several rings they hang up on you. I tried contacting the main postal system. That's a joke. It looped me around and then all it would say is that the package was???? No clue. No mention of redelivery, nothing. It's truly sad because I know it will never change. read more

The line moves at a snail's pace, but what do you expect? It is the post office after all. And while not the friendliest of staff, they did help me out on Christmas Eve when I rolled in at the last minute with a poorly taped Priority Mail box. I was too cheap to buy packing tape so the post office clerk taped the box with her packing tape for me. I mean, she didn't smile or anything while doing it, but she did help me out and didn't make me go buy the expensive-ass packing tape that was hanging on a display right next to me. Lost every certified letter for delivery to purchased box including refusing to acknowledge incorrectly removing my mail from box placing in Premium Forwarding large USPS 8 x 10 envelope special delivery to another state when I cancelled that service before that Wednesday Premium Forwarding. Supervisors falsely claim tried to contact the customer when failed to deliver a certified letter that was returned to sender " available for pickup" lost at this very post office! Postmaster answered phone one day just said "Hello" not identifying what business untrained in phone etiquette for all businesses. Incorrect postal instructions by most every clerk that customers use costing customer their job and the State removed a senior from access to his own box because that post office unable to deliver certified envelopes for lawyers handling that seniors Affairs. Internal loss of mail at that facility possible internal theft still waiting on Inspector General to investigate massive mishandling of mail for boxes of which the post box manager, Hector fails to read notes the clerks deliver to him to prevent massive mishandling of critical mail that post office also never checks ID for delivery even for "Restricted Delivery NAMED PERSON " signature never obtained;therefore, certified letters never delivered costing seniors access to his own attorney and funds allowing loss of court proceedings to complete. This post office just like Pittsburg, Martinez actually harm customers with no remorse from supervisors or postmasters. Find another way don't depend on local post offices ever to deliver critical mail the clerk Henry had a certified letter receipt that expected John Lennon (deceased Beatle) signature for my Restricted Delivery who was deceased. This post office assigned incorrect size box preventing receipt of government mail refund had to be issued without any apology for wrong size box that Ray assigned unable to read the form he was given. Instead this clerk questions the customer, "Why do you need that size box?". Mistakes occur over 50% or more by totally untrained clerks who didn't remember training or postal rules regulations costing lives to be lost! Please notify 510-874-8540 if ever your mail isn't delivered this is top management at a Bay Valley Consumer & Industry Affairs the agency who should hold local post offices accountable for mishandling of mail but this agency understaffed & untrained too many turnovers of employees because everyone looks for better job instead of working or pride to serve the citizens of their community. Instead death and loss of all your wealth shall occur if you EVER depend on USPS for correct delivery of any mail piece! Lack of delivery happened yet again. Package was marked delivered on Tuesday. I was home all day - no delivery attempts were made. On Friday, still no package. If you live in this service area and rely on Amazon Prime for free 2-day delivery, forget about getting it in 2 days. Give yourself at least a week. My 2-day packages frequently get here in 4-5 days with USPS, yet UPS and FedEx don't seem to have a problem with delivering in a timely fashion. read more

My mail was on vacation hold for 5 days with a request for delivery on. 6th day. On day two a 1st class package with tracking numbers says it was delivered to the mailbox. Said package has yet to be found or delivered to me 3 weeks later, spoke with delivery person, filed on line grievance and was given a case # 2 weeks ago! Visited post office today and was told nothing could be done no insurance on package. What about the post office acknowledging and making good on their mistake? The worst customer service I have seen at a USPS. NOTE: Please do not go by their walk in office hrs for passport services posted on the internet. It says they open until 4 but they close the office at 3. It was very very inconvenience for someone going out of town to make it between their walk in hours and it happened to be closed an hr earlier. Unfortunately 75% of the time they always losing my mail I order alot of stuff from amazon and I hate that when an item is been delivered Fedex or UPS I dont know why it gets transferred to the USPS it gets lost or they don't know where my mail is, I also placed a hold online for my mail for 1 week due to I was going on vacation and my mail was still been delivered the hole time. There needs to be a "0 Stars" option. Ridiculously terrible service. They closed the ticket on a Missing Package request despite not actually finding the package (or calling me to let me know). I called to speak with my point-of-contact and was put on hold while they went to find her; 30 minutes of hold time later I got disconnected. I called back and no one would answer. It took an entire 47 minutes (I counted) of ringing their phone before someone finally picked up, put me back on hold, and promptly forgot about me. After that I decided the $20 package wasn't worth the hours of calling it'd take to track it down. read more

I don't understand how the Post Office can still be in business with their poor telephone customer support. There is constantly a 30-45 min wait time and often they hang up after you have been waiting.No technical support for the business customers. Their response to emails is after 48 hours. And they expect you to take a survey after the phone call. read more

Staff is always happy. The line is either nonexistent or moving FAST! They are accommodating (often cuff me tape, stickers, and such). Best post office in the east bay and I've used a lot as I'm heavy into Ebay. The staff is soo nice. This is a model usps store and I hope the staff is well compensated for their terrific work. Horrible customer service. They don't answer their phone and just let it ring and ring. The woman at the "customer service" desk had a hostile attitude toward the customers in general, and the branch post master is inaccessible and seems to only exist to degrade customer service in the substations with his edicts. Fortunately I only have to use the Concord office rarely. The Concord PO "Customer Service" experience is what gives the Post Office a bad reputation, which is a shame, as the staff in the Pleasant Hill substation are a real pleasure to deal with. read more

I come into this Post Office just about every single day for the past 4 years to ship out packages for my small business. This is the only Post Office I will go to. Everyone there is very nice and friendly. They inform me on different ways to ship my items and different envelopes to use. The staff there is just great. The parking lot is tiny, and thats the only funky thing. Even if there is a long line (like all post offices) it moves VERY fast. Ive been near the entrance, and its only taken 10+ minutes to be at the counter. Im sad to see the low reviews in regards to the delivery of the mail. I don't think thats fair. read more

After reading all the reviews I came super early to avoid a long line. Got here when they opened, plenty of parking, there was already a line but not too long. The manager was dividing the line between people who was there for passports and people picking up mail. It actually went really fast, total time to wait in line and pick up my package was less than 15 min. Not bad at all, but I did get here right when they opened. read more

I would give them 0 stars if possible. I was shipping a large envelope to Quebec, it said online that the postage would be 2.25. When we got to the post office they said it is a package and the postage would cost 6.55. Great job Postal service, you finally managed to have 4 stars taken away. Never been too fond of you anyway and am really not surprised of your declining business. Most of your staff is always on the edge, disinterested and crabby. And most Post offices in town are falling apart. Go take a look for yourself, Postmaster, they are a disgrace! The one star is for the few current, friendly employees at my neighborhood office, Casa Correo. Please note the words "current employees" My family in Europe sent off a parcel on December 4th 2010 via postal service. It was expected to arrive before Christmas, or at least in 2010. It did not arrive. Middle of January we sent out a search, one from Europe and one from Concord. All they could tell us was that the parcel left European hands and was now, most likely, somewhere in USPS Limboland. Hopeless. Mind you there were pages and pages of paperwork required for this service from USPS, when it was mailed off....name, address, contents, all computerized, heck we even had a parcel number to do the search. And the price tag was not small for this either.... Still, they could not locate this parcel. We were told that the USPS increased their security measures once again, and that might be the cause. Huh? how long does that take? But they still could not tell us where our parcel was located at. Did you loose my children's Christmas present, USPS? Miss place it? Break it? Deliver it to the wrong address? Imagine my surprise when I got the parcel today....Wow, two month later it's here. I asked the person at the desk, where he thinks this parcel was all this time. He replied, probably at customs. they can keep it up to 40 days. WTH? The package was not even opened by customs. The package had it's expected wrinkles, but it was not opened by US customs. Why would they keep it for 58 days? It's a mystery. This is bad business USPS. Bad business. There are options for mail service these days. Thank god! read more

No stars. I called to complain because the backup postman wrote my house number in magic marker on my sparkling white mail box. The house number is clearly visible on the curb and on the front of the house but I guess the guy couldn't be bothered to look up or down. I dont even want to give this place ONE star... a few months ago I ordered something online, wasnt cheap, wasn't expensive; definately not something i wanted to get lost or stolen. I checked my package with the tracker code the company gave me, and it said it had been delievered. wasnt there. so I called the company, they looked it up and said it had been signed for. so I called the post office, no reply, waited a day, still no package, drove to the post office, and talked to some lady that didnt speak english and she took my name and number, and said I would get a call by 12 the next day. no call. so I drove back down there the next day and took my mom with me. she explained that someone signed my package, and there wasnt a slip saying who signed for it and when it was signed for (which is protocal). and all the post office could say was sorry, but the dude didnt even care, he said "it happeneds" (which set my mom off). so he took my name and number said i would get a call back. same deal as before. I ended up arguing with the company and they refunded my money, and to this day I have only gotten one call from the post office (a week later) saying they are going to look into it. skip to months later (this week) I'm waiting on a letter from my dad who lives in England. in that letter is some important stuff. guess what happened...someone signed for my letter and i never got a notice for it. this place is a joke. the people that work there are a joke. Ive never seen or experienced such poor customer service. they owe me more then $500.00 in stolen/misplaced mail. might not be a lot to some people, but in these times who can afford to throw 500 away?! I am beyond fed up. I had a package that was to be signed for attempted to be delivered on Friday May 22nd. I was left a note that it would be at the post office after 9am the following Saturday for pick up. After waiting in a huge line at 10am that Saturday and then another 25 min at the counter than man told me it wasn't there. That's it just they don't have it. When I got upset he said that most likely the carrier took it out for redelivery today. The he made a copy of my conformation paper and had me write my name and phone number for a manager to call me when they found my package. Upon arriving home I was very excited to see my mail carrier on the street. When I went to him and asked him for my package he seemed confused. He said he didn't have it that he took it to the post office and that's why he left me a note. When I told him the man at the counter said he had it, he got very upset stating they always blame the carriers. So I asked him at this point what do I do because no one knows where my package is, he then called his manager on his mobile phone. The manager Mark said that he would take my information, check for the package and call me later that day. About 30 minutes for the post office was due the close I still haven't received a phone call so I called them, the phone rang over and over and over before I finally got through. The woman on the phone Linda informed me Mark had left for the day, nice of him to completely ignore me. She then goes to search for the package and when she returned to the phone told me most likely it was accidentally sent with the outgoing mail in which case it would be lost in transit for some time and eventually hopefully show back up or would be sent return to sender which would mean back to England. Or another potential situation was that a different carrier accidentally took it on their truck and in that case it would be back in the post office by Tuesday at the latest and I can come get it. Angry and frustrated I called the customer service number and they gave me a case number and escalated it to consumer affairs and I was supposed to get a phone call in 48 hours. Having never receive that phone call come Tuesday, I called to check in and told me no one started working on my case yet and gave me the direct number for consumer affairs. So I called the direct number for consumer affairs and speaking to an agent they then attempted three times to get a manager on the phone at the post office and no one would answer the phone just kept ringing and ringing and ringing. So basically she told me that I just need to keep calling over and over and asking them to look for my package over and over and that was the only solution they could provide. After talking with someone in customer service from the company where my package was sent from they then suggested I reschedule it for delivery on a day I will be home and then it would put it on the post office to find it and get it to me in the date I chose. I did so. And then received a phone call from Linda saying that they were attempting to deliver my package that day (Thursday) and I told her I had scheduled it for Saturday because I will not be home and she says okay well then if it's not able to be delivered today he will bring it back and it will go out on Saturday. About an hour later she calls me a second time and says oh you are right it is a delivery scheduled for Saturday however we still don't know where your package is. I told her well you have two days to find it and hopefully it shows up at my house on Saturday. So this Saturday, the day I have two confirmations my package will be delivered, May 30 I am sitting at home waiting for my package to arrive only for the mail Carrier to look at me dumbfounded when I asked where is my package and he informs me there are no packages being sent to my home today. Big surprise as I call the post office over and over and over and over no one answers. This is unacceptable. I am so angry I'm not sure what to do I feel like going down to the post office and letting myself into the back to look for my package myself because I'm sure it is just back there somewhere and no one has bothered to really look for it as it was missed placed somewhere and everyone's just too lazy to find it. read more

This post office, like most it seems, is often understaffed with long lines. I went to get my passport renewed. The hours for passport services aren't listed on the large sign outside that states they accept passport applications. That service closes at 2:30. So, back again today at 1:00. Nope, today they are short and don't have anyone to help. Most of us work 9-5 M-F, so no, it's not convenient to come back tomorrow. I'm working. This is another example of why the USPS is the last place I go when I need a service I can get anywhere else. read more

If you come here for a passport .... DO NOT GO TO THE ASIAN OLDER LADY. (Sorry didn't get her name) . I stood in line for 30 minutes. And I watched her just tell people no for no good reason. Even rejected someone for having a original birth certificate saying that it wasn't original.and a lady before telling her her 5 forms of ID were not good enough. The lady kept asking her what exactly do I nee and she gave no answer. How is she even working there??? There was two ladies working one Indian. Who I was praying she would help me but then she left.... So it was finally our turn . I already had a feeling we were not getting our passport. And I was right!!! We had all the forms filled out and ready. But she said oh it's not correct but she gave us the exact same form to fill out which how was my info or form incorrect?? Or how was that not ok? But okay we filled out the form again And then she asked oh I can't take your picture. Only men. Because women have "shadow". How? She responds with a vague Answer... "Oh girls shadow no good". How does this make any sense?? And to even try to argue with her would be like trying to talk to a piece of cardboard complete waste of time To even complain to a supervisor I had to call a 1-800 number. This place really sucks. Or maybe just the passport lady. Sad that this is a government job and have people like her working there. We went to another post office and got our passports with no problem. read more
