Haven't been to this Post Office in a very very long time. I needed to send a package, this late afternoon. Surprisingly there's a good amount of parking for a quick stop (30mins parking) and regular parking. I went inside and I was happy to see there wasn't a long line on a Monday and there were more than two cashiers. The pricing on packages have gone up as with everything else after the pandemic. The guy that helped me was fast got me out of there within 5/6 minutes (unheard of right)? He was nice but he should smile. There's a ton of P.O. Boxes and there's is a drop box for regular mail if you need it. read more

Five Stars because of the excellent service of Gigi, at the counter. Went to the post office to pick up some stamps and packaging. The line grew as we all waited while a woman was expressing her discontent about not receiving her mail to Gigi. Gigi was supremely polite and incredibly patient as she explained to the woman in multiple ways (because the woman was just not understanding and continued to be upset ) that she could not do more than she already did (by taking the woman's name and phone number to give to the supervisor of the mail carriers) And that all the supervisors were gone for the day. Then, when the woman left and it was finally my turn, Gigi helped me understand the most economical way to send my gifts. She is just awesome and if I lived closer, I would go to this post office more often because of her! read more

Surprised this location has the lowest of stars. They aren't the closest Post Office to me but they've always been 100% reliable. At most times, service is fast and they are generally well-staffed at the front. Most clerks are overapolgetic for patrons having to wait when they haven't waited long at all. They could stand to check to make sure the bin closest to the door has plenty of Priority Mail envelopes, for they are always out. They also quickly run out of currently marketed stamps and don't seem to ever request more of them once they're out. They tell you to go online, which orders take months to receive when ordering online. read more

To be very honest, I was dreading going into Concord USPS because I hear far too often more negative experiences than good ones. However, I needed to send out some documents and packages ASAP, so I went on ahead into this office. This particular location is fairly large with a parking lot. I went in early morning and it was not busy at all. I encountered two staff members and both were very pleasant and helpful. I was in and out pretty quickly and overall, had a good experience! I brought my family to this post office to obtain passports for my 2 and 5 year old and had one of the most trou Ling experiences of service provision I have ever witnessed which has scarred my children's view of what citizenship is, for life. Never mind that our effort to obtain a passport began two months ago when I initially set up an appointment for 1 month out through the USPS online scheduling system. I showed up to the appointment I the day I thought it was scheduled to find a rude staff person at Walnut Creek tell me I had no appointment and asked me to leave, promptly. How is that possible, my calendar alerted me and I don't miss appointments? I go back to the 9nl8ne scheduling and attempt to make another appointment when I realize that upon completion of scheduling the appointment when clicking final acceptance of the appointment, the online system was automatically bumping your schedule date one day forward without notifying yiu and you would only catch it by reviewing your receipt. But you could not fix it anyway. So this sets the scene for Martinez USPS office experience of horror. Upon arrival 3 months into the start of this effort. I arrive with 2 confirmation numbers and pictures of the reservation screen. I tell the 2 female clerks in the front that my famile is here for an appointment and she tells me she has no record of the firs t appointment. She says she does have the second way. She offers no options. I show her my record of the appointment and she immediately jumps to, " i am not gonna argue witht his guy and she immeiately goes and gets a manager", huh, i wasn't arguing at all! But she clearly set the tone. After a 10 minute wait a twenty soemthing young man, meager as all heck comes out, I show my documents and he asks me to wit longeer. For the next 10 to 15 minutes we hear a female yelling at the top of her lungs arguing about leadership and who should do what. Meanwhile, the front desk clerks are making ignorant passive agressive statements aimed at my family about not seeing a address or other identifying information ​to confirm the appt. Huh? We have confirmation numbers that are attached to the confirmation numbers. Look it up! For the next 20 to 30 minutes they keep hurling indirect insults at us for what? The manager comes back and acknowledges we have a valid appt. That sends one of the front desk clerks to the back to Never return but to continue screaming inthe back about nonsense! He says someone will help us. We wait another 15 minutes and he returns​ astonished, saying some9ne had come up in an attempt to help us! No they didn't we have been standing here hmthe whole time. He goes back to get some one else. Meanwhile, finally the last of the obnoxious and rude front desk person states begrudgingly and with consistent challenging tone that was more command with a hope to find something wrong to deny the application....she said as much too!! Finally, she could find nothing wrong with the application and processes the application. During that process she starts to try to backpeddle the effect​ of her actions by stating how good of a person she was for helping us and she stated!! "No one else wanted to help you, it ain't yall fault but Noone else was gonna help you so I am." She said this twice! IN FRONT OF MY DAUGHTERS! Meanwhile, the manager is exiting the room but mouthing behind the front desk clerk to myself and my wife that HE WAS SORRY!. YOU COULD TELL THAT HE WAS IN OVER HIS HEAD AND HAD NOT CONTROL.OVER THESE WOMEN. This experience was distatseful and a sad representation of women of color in a professional work place. Let alone that it is connected to a SUPPOSED "esteemed establishment" like the federal government. These women were regularly unprofessional, disrespectful, challenging, and rude. Thye continued to repeatedly engage in purposeful behavior to cause irritation and disfunction. One of the female clerks repeatedly talked about the quality of the leadership the manager did or did not provide! Can you believe that! Lol as if she would have been a much better staff person if she had a better leader lol! And get this....she continually reviewed our documents talking about how she would find something we didn't do right to deny our application, this is a institution that could not even track an appt I had a reservation for. It is clear that this post office is a backwater station that they try to hide the worst of the worst employees. These women are clearly union employees that cannot be fired because of the amazing protections that unions provide that bad actors hide behind. This has forever left a negative effect on my daughters and what it means to got to the post office and what it feels like to try to be a responsible citizen and follow citizenship protocols! They held my mail Bc my box was full, I went there and they didn't have my mail but I think his name was Antonio? Said he would follow up with me on where my mail was. He actually called back which I didn't expect and told me they fit my mail in my box and got rid of the garbage ads. A small gesture but I felt like it deserves a review since government agencies aren't always a pleasure to work with. read more

I believe Concord PO is the only office in the area providing walk in appointment for US passports. They do it Mon, Wed, Fri - first come first serve 9 to 10 am. They are hard to get a hold of when you do call but when you get through they are very helpful. When I called passport clerk told me to come 1-2 hours earlier prior to opening, so when we did come in we were first in line! He also gave me tips what to bring and how to fill out application. Before 9 am employee came out and gave everyone solid information before they even got in to avoid wasting time. Very good service if you need passport. Get there early and have all your paperwork with you and parents bring your children if you are getting passport for them, some families did not bring their child for their passport processing! read more

The worst Post office I have ever had to deal with by a massively huge margin. They CONTINUALLY lose and misplace my packages, forcing me to go into this horrible place and try and get them to find my stuff. The latest fiasco was one of the packages I was set to receive was "mis-directed" to El Sobrante, which caused a very unnecessary two day delay in delivery. Another package, also late, was sent to Richmond, and when I asked why, they had no answer. Just so you understand, I live just about half a mile from this post office, and El Sobrante and Richmond are twenty miles away. A package that I sent was never tracked at all, despite it being a signature required package. Of course, I had no choice but to get in front of them again to try and find where the package was. No one bothered to fill out required tracking data at all, and no one could confirm that they had actually received the package. Unbelievable! read more

I mailed an international package from this USPS office on 10/31/2022 as priority express and was told it will arrive in 5-7 business day. I have informed delivery and was receiving messages regarding the package whereabout. To my surprise it went to Vancouver, Canada and was sent back to California and sure enough the latest message today 11/13/2022 said it was in international distribution in Los Angeles!!!! Such a lousy, irresponsible and terrible company that can not even deliver a package right. They charged me $88.15 for that delivery. I requested return of my package and refund. I came into this post office as a walk-in (2x2 pictures already in hand) to complete and mail off a expedited passport application. As I was waiting in line there was already a person being helped for the same thing. I heard the clerk being super helpful with her passport application so I though, great! I really didn't want to mess it up. Another clerk called me up next and I told her I had a passport application, she immediately grabbed the envelope and began placing my application inside and asked me to confirm everything was correct. I told her, I was hoping she could verify that. She told me "I'm not a passport technician" I said, ok I would like to wait for someone who is. She told me to get bak in line. I got Ebony and let me tell you, Ebony was gracious, had a good attitude, and helped me get my application in order and mailed off. Originally she had forgotten to have me sign the application at the end, she realized within a few minutes and called my cell phone to ask me to come back! That shows true attention to detail and going out of her way to correct it. Imagine if that was sent off without being signed. Super grateful for Ebony and her helpfulness. read more

the USPS is not terrible some of the mail men are okay and they been bringing my mail for long time, but the customer service number you call is a piece of garbage! my package arrived in San Francisco instead of bringing it to my local postal office it was sent to Los Angeles I try calling to speak to a live person, but this garbage service is deliberately set up so you talk to this machine over and over again! say what you will about amazon prime ups or fedex but at least they have people who will talk to you and explain what is going on. read more

Update: my passport came in today, and after all that work, all that back and forth with "is this the right form" and "do you need any more documents", my passport was processed and my name is STILL INCORRECT. as previously stated, i was told to "just write the name you want on your passport in this box and provide a birth certificate and you'll be fine", yet here we are, weeks later. and it's not fine. so now what? am i expected to renew it and expedite it again and drop another $180 or something just so my name can be correct? when i spent so much time and money already trying to make sure that it would be done right the first time???? read more

I stopped in at this post office branch after work one day to send a couple wedding invitations that needed to travel out of the country. I have never had an issue finding parking here, although I'm sure that the lot fills up quickly during the holiday season. At 5:00 pm on a Friday there were at least a dozen people in line, but they were fully staffed and I wasn't there longer than 10 minutes. While waiting in line, I noticed that they have a pretty decent card selection, including an entire display for upcoming holidays (Valentine's Day in this case). The woman working there was helpful and got my invitations quickly on their way. This post office is open Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 6:00 pm and Saturdays from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm. They have a Passport Services Department that is open during the week. read more

It took 3 tries to get the right envelope and he was literally trying to upsell us on unnecessary and overcomplicated options. Bad, irritating, annoying experience. This is the best post office I have been to in the Bay Area. I came in to see at least 5 employees working the front counter. I just had some packages that needed to be returned to Amazon. I was warmly greeted and told by a gentleman, working behind the counter, to drop them off with him and he would take care of it. I have never experienced service like that at a Post Office. This post office is where I have to pick up my mail when I get something delivered to my home and I'm not there to sign. That's the only reason I visit this location since it's pretty out of the way from my house. I don't know why they have to deliver by City, rather than proximity to the actual post office. I live very close to a Walnut Creek office! Perhaps I got lucky this summer as I had to visit the post office for many, many packages (wedding gifts) but never had a terrible wait. Since last week I see a postal truck flying by. I have informed mail so I see what mail should be delivered. Well Thursday five pices missing no delivery Friday three missing no delivery. Saturday Saturdays three pieces of mail delivered still no Thursday and Friday's mail. Monday Thursday and Friday's mail delivered five pieces of Monday's mail not delivered. Tuesday still no mail delivered mail truck flying in neighborhood twice not stopping. I really would like to know what's going on I've never had such horrible horrible service. It's frustrating when one was a water bill and three or Christmas cards into our bank statements. I have a very secured locked mailbox there's no reason I shouldn't be getting my mail. read more

Conveniently located near the highly populated shopping center, Heritage Square. It's one of the larger post office's in the area and has plenty of parking in a lot and on the street. I went in to mail 5 - 6 letters, they all had gift cards in them, which caused the envelope to be off balance. I was charged an extra .22 postage for each card. Apparently, it's a rule for the postal system, that if there's a plastic card being mailed and it causes the envelope to be off balance, then it requires extra postage. .22 extra. Who knew that? I was never aware of that extra charge. There were only two official postal people helping customers, and one person helping the quicker non paying transactions. Everyone was friendly. My tip for anyone reading this review, if you're going to mail gift cards, make sure your envelope is balanced throughout, otherwise you will have to pay extra postage, i guess to even out the envelope? lol. not sure!! read more

Zero Accountability. And doesn't care. Period. Ongoing. Especially, their site Supervisor. Backdrop to today's nuisance is years of issues. Today takes the cake. I was in a couple days ago to discuss 'hit or miss' delivery. For a long time now, I only get "some' of my mail. They suggested months ago I use Informed Delivery. Now I see what I don't get. I finally went in (couple days ago) to discuss because important docs aren't arriving. Supervisor said it's "not us". At the time, I also paid $10/mailed a package. It arrived at my door yesterday. They mailed it to the wrong address. They mailed it to me! Zero accountability from the site Supervisor. Today, he said, "it was delivered" "Nothing we can do". Seriously? while I was there to discuss the on-going issue of mail I'm perpetually missing, they knowingly mis-delivered my package, admitted it, and then did nothing to correct their error. Said it's on me. Unbelievable. Yet, totally believable. Mediocre is the new norm. Site Supervisor strives for mediocrity and succeeds. There is no "excellence" nor do they mind giving mediocre service. It's sad really. I feel bad for the tellers there. Avoid this place or roll the dice. And don't get me started on the horrors of this end of things; damages, theft, blatant disregard. Best of luck to who's reading this. I never post reviews. Always give the benefit of the doubt. I would have given them a five star but the place did not have a/c. Poor patrons and employees are in misery esp because it's almost 100* outside. We came to get our daughter's passport after getting disappointed with the Antioch posts office's passport hours that are not reflected on what they have posted online. We had to go in line to get money order, while in line the nice lady employee saw that one of the people in line was sending out priority mail that had a cut off of 3pm. So she asked the people ahead of the man if she can help him so he can make the deadline. I was so thankful that she helped me as well. I told her that I needed 2 money order for my passport and she suggested to just get 1 money order for the passport and then get $25 cash back for the processing fee. I was very thankful that she helped me saved a few dollars. Then we headed to the passport processing room. The lady made it as quick as possible because she saw how hot my daughter was because of the broken a/c. Overall, the customer service I received was exceptional. I just hope the government would keep up the place and fix the A/C, not just for the patrons but for the employees that are working hard to provide good service. read more

WHAT A DIFFERENCE. After a horrible experience in Martinez post office, we have encountered an entirely different level of customer service. Bill in the front office goes above and beyond explaining to customers what needs to be done in terms of passports and what not, and was incredibly nice to us. Janet at customer service is pleasant, accommodating, with a good sense of humor, exactly what it takes to be strong in that environment. Kudos to both of them. read more

Extremely disappointed with the customer service here. My husband and I waited 45 minutes to talk to someone in charge. We had not received mail for five days. It appears we are at the end of the route, and this is the eighth time it has happened within the last two months..If the attitude is by a certain time the mail is not delivered they just go back to the post office, then let's do this to everybody else so that we're not left at the end of the day not getting our mail. Very feeble excuse about us not getting our mail actually not even a reason. Bianca was the woman that spoke to us, and it appears that Raul Alcosta who is the residing postmaster is not aware of the poor service his people are providing which we as US citizens pay for.Very disappointed being put off like this. read more

Worst service EVER! If you live in this area, trust me, spend the extra money and have packages delivered by UPS or FEDEX! Was expecting a package, sent via Express Mail with tracking. Tracking said it would arrive on Thursday - at the end of the day, no package! Went online to check tracking and it stated that they had attempted to deliver. That is an outright LIE. I work from home, was home all day, received OTHER packages that day, and there was no notice left. Called the 800 number and was told that the package was at this post office, so I went over there first thing in the AM. They had no clue. Waited 30 mins while they searched, and could find no trace of it. What's worse, is that afternoon, the tracking was updated AGAIN stating that they had attempted delivery - another LIE. Someone was home all day, and no notice. Lazy staff, and outright liars. read more

I had to wait 30+ minutes past my appointment time to get seen by the passport processing lady. I don't understand why an apt. is necessary since they don't seem to respect other people's time. I missed half an hour of work because I ended up being late because of waiting for so long. Not only that, the lady charged me extra dollars for giving me copies of my documents that I never even asked for; I thought she was being courteous. I even confirmed the total with her but when I checked my receipt later, I realized I was charged extra. Did not like the experience there.
