This place sucks period. I got shifted to 2 different idiots when I told them my package was supposedly delivered and both people said they couldn't help at all. The very rude and almost unintelligible lady at the customer service counter basically told me to leave since they were closing and shut the door on me. It was 4pm, on a Friday afternoon mind you. There were also 2 others behind the counter trying to figure out a money order like it was a calculus problem while there was a ton of people in line Not sure who's delivering mail but my registered mail tracking says someone attempted to deliver it and left a notice, guess what? I went online and placed my mail on hold while I was on vacation for six days. I chose the option to pick up my mail from this location when I got back from vacation. My mail hold ended on 07/09/14 and according to the confirmation email I had ten days to pick up my accumulated mail. I went into this location yesterday morning around 10:45 am to pick up my mail. The woman behind the counter who helped me (tall, long wavy haired, African American woman) asked for my ID and for me to write down my address and she went into the back for about five minutes. When she came back out she told me that my mail wasn't there. I asked her what she meant and she repeated that my mail wasn't back there. I asked her if she wanted the confirmation number I was given and she said no. I asked her if there was a manager I could talk to and she said she was going to go talk to "Miriam" and she went into the back again for five plus minutes. She came back out and told me again that she couldn't locate my mail. I asked her where else it could be and she said she didn't know. She said she only works the counter and doesn't handle any of that. If she doesn't handle any of "that" why is she the one going into the back to retrieve my mail? I asked her what my options were and she wrote down this phone number (925) 687-0533 and the name "Romeo". She said to call around 10 am that day because he should be there by then. I told her that it was already 11 am and she said it was weird he wasn't in yet. She told me to call around lunch time to talk to him. So I left without my mail and a piece of paper with a phone number and the name "Romeo" on it. I waited until noon and I called the number I was given, no one answered. When no one answered I was asked by the automated phone system if I wanted to be transferred to reception, I chose that option and again no answer. I called five separate times, the same outcome every single time. I wasn't even given the option to leave a message. It turns out that the number the woman gave me was just the main line to this Post Office location. She didn't even give me "Romeo's" extension. Needless to say I was fed up at this point. I went online and looked up the main customer service number for USPS which is: 1-800-275-8777 (just in case any of you have a similar problem). I was on hold for ten minutes before I spoke to an actual person. The woman I spoke to was very helpful. She said she was filling out paperwork and launching an investigation. She gave me a case number and everything. She asked for my phone number so they can contact me when they have located my missing mail. read more

Worst service ever. Whenever we put a hold on our mail, something goes wrong. According to tracking info, I had 3 packages delivered to my home while I was away.. nothing here. the accumulated mail on hold for 2 weeks? 3 pieces. BULLSHIT. I get that much mail everyday. and my packages??/ lost?? not held?? no one knows... they are lost in the eternal void of the twilight zone. I had to wait 30+ minutes past my appointment time to get seen by the passport processing lady. I don't understand why an apt. is necessary since they don't seem to respect other people's time. I missed half an hour of work because I ended up being late because of waiting for so long. Not only that, the lady charged me extra dollars for giving me copies of my documents that I never even asked for; I thought she was being courteous. I even confirmed the total with her but when I checked my receipt later, I realized I was charged extra. Did not like the experience there. If i could give this place negative stars I would. This is the worst display of customer service I have ever seen in my life. This place make the DMV look like the express lane. I am here because a certified mail that was supposed to be held for up to 15 days was returned to sender after 4 days. I was told to go to the back room and ask for a supervisor which I did. I waited behind a lady for 30 minutes. When she was done with the supervisor I walked up and the supervisor was walking away and I asked her to stay. She said no one is answering the phones to which I replied let them ring I'm physically here. She kept walking. As I type I've waited another 20 minutes for a total of 50. The lady doing passports has called on the PA. Twice for a supervisor and no one has responded. I continue to wait..... and wait and wait and no supervisor. They just called supervisor Sarah for the 5th time and she still isn't here. It was funny the page was supervisor Sarah someone is still waiting. Now the conversation is who is a supervisor and who is qualified. It appears as if no one in charge. If this was a company that had to make profit it would have been out of business a long time ago. Finally someone showed up. Funny thing is it was a guy who walked by earlier looked in and left. Avoid this place like the plague. read more

This is the worst post office I have ever dealt with, ever. I had a PO Box there a few years ago that was closed without my knowledge or consent. Apparently a notice was placed in the box, then the box was locked so I could not get it. I had to arrange time I could go when they were open, and by then, a week later, they were like "Oh well, too bad, box has been re-rented to someone else". Seriously? I also live where they service, and I go days without seeing a carrier. I have not had mail in 2 days at this time. When this first happened when I moved here, I called to complain and was told I lived on a training route, with not even a hint of an apology or care. I avoid this PO now when I need anything, and visit the one on East St instead. Meanwhile, here it is the day before Christmas, I haven't received ANY mail in 2 (business) days, and when I call to ask what the heck, no one answers. I have called there 5x in a row, and it rings and rings then hangs up. No one at this post office gives one care about their job or the mail much less you. Yelp should allow 0 stars. I'm editing this to add that I spoke to a mail carrier today and he told me the supervisor ordered no deliveries yesterday, and they were carrying multiple days mail today. He had no idea why, but told me to speak to a supervisor. I sure would, if someone would answer the phone. read more

So.....yeah, nothing has changed. Today on my day off I watched the mail lady walk right past my house with mail I am waiting for to be picked up. Because this has already happened several times I started clipping out going mail to the outside of my mail box even though I think its unsafe and risky and still she walks by. Today it happened to be netflix so it was a big red envelope, hard to miss, yet she did. When I noticed I stopped her and said nicely "excuse me!" I held up the red envelope after waiting for her to see where I grabbed it from. She said "oh since you didn't have mail I didn't bother going to you mail box" THATS FRICKN ANNOYING! Another issue I have is getting other peoples mail. I get other peoples mail in my complex and they get my mail. One particular lady who is old and has trouble walking has to walk over to my house to bring me my mail. How hard is it to read names and correct numbers? Isn't that their job???????? I also get mail to my house that has correct address but DO NOT LIVE HERE even though i have a big note all the mailbox with the only last names that will be expected here. This is unbelievable what terrible service I get since I've been living here. I don't get it. I'm honestly at my wits end with USPS. I have a package that has no tracking movement that I can see since January 8th. From what I can see it is stuck in Rochester, NY as it arrived on Jan 8th and never shows a scan for departed that location. Since January I have been told it is in transit. The last few days I have been communicating with Sheryl Wood (Supervisor Customer Services) from this Concord location. She advised the container (not the package, the container it was supposedly in) was scanned in four stops since February 18th, but could not advise what those stops were. This information doesn't show on the tracking either. I asked if it was plausible if the package was left behind in Rochester since only the container was scanned in these four stops she was seeing. You know how she responded? "We went through this yesterday.  You may want to go ahead and file a claim." Rude much? She answered a lot of my questions, but not about calling Rochester, so, no Sheryl, we did not go over that yesterday because you refused to answer that part of the question. I have asked numerous times since January if someone could call Rochester and they never respond to that or skip over that part. And funny enough, they keep telling me to file a claim. Well guess what, I did and they denied it because, can you guess? Tracking still shows in transit even though the package hasn't been scanned for almost two months. Horrible service. read more

Such low stars for this place :(( I come very often to send out packages from eBay. Every time I stop by, there's hardly ever long lines. Yes this place is sort of stale looking but hey, what do you expect from a Post Office? You're only there at most 10 minutes, can't expect t.v set's to be there to entertain you while you wait in line. Anyways, I love the people who work here. They're friendly, helpful and nice and I usually have conversation's with them while waiting for them to weight my package. Parking lot is decent sized, not hard to find parking every time I go. When I have to go to the main branch, they're courteous, and usually the line moves at a decent rate. HOWEVER I am less than pleased with a few things right now. Let me start off by saying I adore the regular delivery guy. He's been doing the route in my neighborhood for years. However since he had an injury not too long ago, he hasn't been able to run a full route every day. I sincerely hope he can recover and feel good enough to take it on again, because the random substitutes they have running his route are dismal. I can tell when he delivers the mail, its not smashed. My latest complaint stems from today's interaction (or lack of) with the main branch. This morning I received the tracking number from the person I bought something from last week, only to discover that the package has been sitting at the post office for the last 5 days. Why? Because apparently there was an attempted delivery on the 9th, at a time I know there was somebody home, and supposedly there was a notice left on my door. Um, no. No delivery notification. I called the delivery 800 number and they helpful guy I talked to told me to call the main branch where my package is sitting to let them know you are coming in to pick it up. Guess what? Nobody answered the damn phone!! I tried several times, no luck. Called the 800 delivery number again, got another nice helpful person and explained the situation to her. Lodged a complaint while I was at it. Look, I like to use the USPS for package delivery. I've had great luck with them in the past. I'm just less than thrilled on the way I have been receiving (or not, as this case indicates) my own mail. Come on, USPS, you know you have to do better than that! Don't make me use UPS or FedEx. For my main postal delivery guy, I give him 5 stars, so that doesn't count. For the substitutes I give them a 2. For the main branch I give them 4 stars for being helpful and courteous when I am there. For their phone "service" I give them a -5. read more

Came here to process my passport application at about 3:30PM. We waited in like for 20 minutes tops, which was surprising for a government office. *cough* DMV *cough* The staff isn't necessarily friendly, but they're helpful. You can pay for a passport with a credit card, but you have to go out into the post office line and wait to buy a money order. $75 total for a regular passport book. One thing that upset me: at 4PM they rudely kicked out everyone that was still in line. I get it, they close at 4, but that's just inconsiderate. They should have sent them away at 3:30. read more

I've been trying to talk to someone at the post office about a bill we received regarding our bulk mailing permit. In the space where it says how much is owed...there is no number. The letter says to call the number on the bottom of the form or call your local post office. I've tried both for several days. There is no answer at either. I finally got a person to answer the phone on Wed and they said they would leave a voice mail with my information for two different people and those people should get back to me It's been two days and no one has called me back and I can't get through to anyone again. This is ridiculous. First to send a bill with no amount noted...then to say to call the number and no one answers. Shame on the post office. read more

Terrible Terrible Terrible! I was in the process of moving my mother who suffers from Alzheimer's into an assisted living facility. I spoke with the mailman asking how long it takes a change of address to take affect so that I could wait until her house sold to do so and that I would be collecting her mail. He was irritated that he had to remove his earbuds and grunted an "I don't know" at me. Two weeks later when the homes for sale sign went up the mail stopped being delivered. I went to the Post Office where they wouldn't tell me anything unless I brought my mom in. Hard to do since her Assisted Living facility was under quarantine due to Norvo Virus. I finally was able to bring her down on Monday, March 13th. We were told that the postman had deemed her home vacant, even though it is not a box but is a slot int the garage door that drops into a secure container inside. I was then told that I shouldn't drop off the Change of Address that I had filled out but instead should do it online. I was also told that the 94521 Supervisor would call me the next morning. THIS IS WHERE I GET VERY ANGRY I am unable to change the address online because her credit card address had been changed so I still have to go back to drop it off AND No phone call from the supervisor and THEY DONT ANSWER THEIR PHONE read more

Yes, there are a lot of upset reviews about this place but the workers here are not to blame. They are just doing their job. They usually help people to actually save money to avoid overcharging. Rediculas delivery service. On Monday I ordered extension cables for a fish tank installation we had planned for the following Saturday. The order was coming from Southern California which should have been a 3 day maximum delivery time. Here we are Saturday afternoon at 3:32 pm AND NO PACKAGE!!!. The staff at the USPS couldn't give a damn. This whole type of scenario is getting really old really fast. The order shipped Monday out of the LA area arrive in SFO on Tuesday and supposedly left SFO for OAKLAND on Tuesday late evening and the tracking showed arrival in OAKLAND on Wednesday. Next update shows item in SFO and DEPARTING for Oakland on Thursday. Late Thursday afternoon shows item departing SFO for Concord. Friday morning shows package departing San Francisco for a on time delivery of before 8:00pm on Friday the 10th. NEVER SHOWED UP. CHECKED TRACKING INFORMATION ON SATURDAY MORNING AT 10 a.m. the information shows on truck out for delivery before 2:00 on Saturday. Well obviously that's not happening. I HAVE SEVERAL PEOPLE HERE TRYING TO WORK ON THIS DAMN INSTALL AND CAN NOT MOVE FORWARD WITHOUT THOSE CABLES. Fabulous job Concord Post Office. If this was an isolated incident I may not be as upset, but it's not. How does the USPS manage to screw up so often while UPS is delivering before expected delivery date 75 % of the time. The fact that their employees are randomly entering tracking details in order to make their routes look good should result in termination. Oh wait that's right, their Federal Employees, they do whatever the hell they want to do with no disciplinary actions what so ever. Meanwhile they have basically shut down this job. With tomorrow being Easter I am pretty sure this will be a major delay untill next weekend as we have jobs to go to on Monday. There is no possible way to call the post office and speak to someone. You will never, ever get a hold of anyone when you call. My packages are never delivered and I received these stupid pink notes on my door which says I have to go to the post office to pick it up. Then it lists an address. This last package cost me $80 and the carrier lied and said it was delivered to my mailbox once again. I literally didn't receive mail for a month before this and they try to tell you anything. This USPS office is a disgrace! I sent a Priority Mail package to MA, and they sent it MA before marking it "Return to Sender". It was $.40 light on postage, so they are not delivering it; they're sending it back! Wow! 3,000 miles back, because it was .40 short. And here it is, 12 days after it was in MA, and Still not back! Not bad. This is not the usual post office I go to. I just thought I'd try a new location. They have bins for larger parcels which I like, unlike the one of East Ave in Concord. Parking is limited here but people usually go in and out fast. Downside is that tracking takes almost 2 days to show up, whereas all other post offices I use have their tracking available that same night that I ship the item. read more

This is the post office that services mail delivery for my block. A while back I had given it a 1 star review as our block literally went for over a week without mail delivery. Not just me, but the entire block. When they finally started delivering, they were all to the wrong address. They're getting better. Had a package come in 4/12 and requested it to be held at post office. Went to the post office morning of 4/12 to pick it up and spoke with JOE the supervisor after waiting in line over and hour. He said it wasn't held they let it go out for delivery and there was nothing he could do. It comes back to the post office and now two weeks later has not been delivered. I called multiple times and was assured that it would be delivered by different representatives, but still nothing. 4/24 I called back spoke to JOE again. He just says it would be easier to file a claim not. Has zero concern for even trying to assist me in finding my package and just wants to take the easy way out, he sighed every time I asked the most basic question and when I asked if I could speak to anyone else and he just said it would come back to him and there was no reason to try. My package had been incorrectly addressed to me with a Walnut Creek street address, but to Concord city and zip. I went to the Concord PO to pick up as instructed by the tracking status, but after the window person was kind enough to do a little searching, no luck. I had previously sent a message through the USPS website and was soon contacted by Veronica in W.C. (voicemail & email). She said Jason in the Concord PO had found my package, to ask for him and when to show up, giving the limited window hours on Saturday. When I stopped by, a postal window guy walking out went looking for him, and when not available, called so he could get the package to me. Normally, this mis-addressed package would be sent back to the sender, and I would have to work things out with them and try again. I felt that several people in the process took an extra step to help work things out. How's that for great people. read more

I put our mail on hold for a few days and said on the paperwork (I will pick up my mail) I come back drove down to pick up my mail and it's not there AGAIN (3rd time) they have it on the truck.This is my home and office. Most time our mail comes between 5:00-8:00pm. Our plans got changed last time. When we returned several days later. All the mail in our mailbox sat for days. There was a large check sent to us for payment. We saw it 8 days later. It seems they do not read their own hold mail requests. If I put down that I will pick up mail, they should NOT change it.
