I love certain carriers at this post office but since they took our carrier that we've had for 10 years and gave us someone else, our mail delivery has never been the same. I'm lucky if we get our mail daily. Three times we've been missed for our mail and that is unacceptable and the post master never calls me back when I've left a message. We are a large corporate office building and the companies in this building have loan docs coming and out and it means nothing. I felt disrespected when I called on a phone today; sept07,2016 at 10:30AM. I was calling why my mails are missing. I had lost mails in November2015. I didn't care because it can be replaced. I haven't received my letter for two weeks that has Disneyland tickets for my daughter to forget her abusive step mom! The speaker on the phone, he told me that the letter need a tracking number. I told him you should educate your people online or newspaper or flyers or note on people's letter that tracker number is convenient for customers to track their letter. Not all people goes to post office store, to meet a cashier person to get info about tracking letter. People can buy stamps in stores like the supermarket. PLEASE MAKE A "post office FLYER" TO REPORT PEOPLE TO HAVE A TRACKING NUMBER. So valuable letter that has gift cards, tickets to Disneyland, or money order rent will NOT GET LOST! ITS YOUR JOB TO REPORT PEOPLE! If customers does not know about your system, your NOT providing proper good services! The man was talking over me, he hang up the phone on me! Worst post office that I know of. I had a P.O. Box here for years and signed up for text notifications. They send a text so know when you get mail. I'd get text after text and show up only to find an EMPTY P.O. Box. Now that I've closed my P.O. Box and filed a change of address, I get a text a day saying I have mail!! Great job guys. The had my business name incorrect for over a year, despite numerous requests to fix. The staff is cold, service slow and impersonal. I went in to return graduation photos that were sent first class clearly labeled do not bend all over the envelope. My local post man deliberately bent them in half to put them in my mail box instead of leaving the envelope on the table just below the mailbox, clipping them to the clip on my mail box that I use for outgoing mail or any other number of ways of not damaging them. The front desk person was not helpful at all. I requested a supervisor to file a complaint on my post man. He came out and said the post office does not accept accountability for packages damaged in the mail! What?!?!? He kept saying, if I want to make a complaint, I have to call the main USPS line. There was no way of filing a complaint in the main office of our area. There was no direct supervisor of the post man to speak to. There was no way of even relaying a message. On my way home, I saw the post man down the road, so I stopped to tell him I didn't appreciate it and I'd like to get his name so I could discuss with his supervisor. I was fair and professional in my demeanor. He refused to give me his name! I can't believe this! The USPS has ZERO accountability for their jobs! Unbelievable!!! We had a very negative experience trying to apply for passports at this office. Part of that was the employee telling us that an expired passport could not be used as proof of identity, despite the fact that the instructions say that a "previous passport" can serve as proof of identity. I've since learned that other post offices take the same interpretation, but she was unnecessarily confrontational about it. I'd let that go, but then she also made disparaging comments about my son's long hair, and didn't believe that he was a boy for purposes of his passport application. We ended up going to Walnut Creek, where the employee was exceedingly polite and helpful. read more

I'd love to leave a 0 star rating for this garbage disposal department, I mean post office. They managed to lose a large 15 pound box with a clear label. It was insured and they only gave back about 3/4 the postage + the insurance amount. Don't do your business here, they'll take your parcels and sell them. read more

I don't know who Joe in passports is, but if you can find him, wait for him! The Korean woman was simply the rudest person I have ever encountered working in any type of customer service. (I'd use her name, but she wasn't wearing a name badge. If I were her, I wouldn't wear a name badge either.) She literally yelled at a family of four in after us to approach the counter when it was their turn. She was short-tempered, abrasive to customers, and (candidly) spoke very poor English. Why on earth they would assign this woman to retail operations and not to the back room sorting packages is beyond me. If you have the option to apply for a passport at any other post office, go elsewhere. read more

When I moved from to Concord it took six weeks and several trips to the post office before I received my mail. I checked with the post office of origin and the problem was not with them. My niece lived with me for 8 months then moved out of state. She completed the change of address form and all went smoothly until about 2 months after her move. Then Concord began delivering her mail stating that there was no forwarding address. We straightened that out. When I leave mail in the mailbox for the carrier to post, half the time it is left in my box and I have to post it myself. I am not impressed with the lack of organization. read more

I was shocked yesterday when I went to my window just as the (not regular) postman drove up to my mail box and continued driving without stopping to pick up the important letter I had on the mailbox (it did have postage!); guess I didm't have any mail for him to get rid of! I was surprised to find the number of stars for this post office at less than 5. Others who have written reviews of the Concord Post Office on Meridian have apparently not visited other post offices in the area (particularly Walnut Creek Main and Ygnacio Valley). There are hardly ever lines in Concord, and when you have to wait, it is only a short time, even on holidays. The staff are always pleasant. Yesterday, I accomplished a bulk mail with the very capable and patient attendant. I am always telling people that if all the post offices ran like this one, the post office would not be in such deep trouble. The management is outstanding. I remember the days a few years back (not sure they still do this) when they would have cookies and actual clerks at a long table when you came in to file your income taxes on April 15. They have never failed me, and I have been going there (from Walnut Creek and from Martinez) for many years. Cannot recommend this post office highly enough. Sorry I have not reviewed them earlier. read more
