It's like playing roulette, you can get someone great or someone who is nasty. However, the nasty is EXTREMELY nasty. As you will see in some of the previous comments, there is singularly one person here, a young woman who is misery personified. She is consistently rude, no matter the weather, no matter the customer. She is plain rude and mean. If you are just asking a simple thing you would at the post office, such as "where do I put this pre-paid labeled box?" She manages to have something rude to say Literally EVERY TIME I interact with her, I leave traumatized and angry. I would not recommend this place to get a passport. The lady did not sign a necessary part of my application which resulted in my application getting extremely delayed and denied. I had to go to the office and re do my entire application due to the fault of this worker. i was supposed to go abroad in March, and I still do not have my passport. I paid nearly $200 to expedite it at the time. The lady I went to when I had to go re-do the application was extremely helpful, nice and apologetic, but the first experience was absolutely unacceptable. read more

Their service simply put, was not good. If you're looking to get Postal service done, please do yourself a favor and don't go here. So here's what happened to me. Two individuals were working the desk; a gentleman who could do passports and a lady who couldn't. So after a long wait, I get to him and forget my passport ID at home. I tell him "I'm sorry, it's my fault. I'll be back in half an hour with it." I come back half an hour and wait. He finishes with a few more people and heads to the back and another gentleman goes in his stead. The whole time, the lady knows I'm there because we made eye contact on a few occasions. She also motions me to the other gentleman. I get there and he advises me that he can't do passports and the other gentleman that stepped out won't be coming back. I basically wasted 20 minutes for nothing and they had nothing to show or offer for it. Their service is not good at all. read more

I only go here since it's conveniently close to my apartment, but I have only had ONE decent experience out of the dozens of times I've been. I remember asking if they could print my label for me since my printer at home broke and they said they didn't have one, but at least they sent me to cvs (who ALSO didn't have one for paper material so nevermind). None of the staff are welcoming--and of course we all have bad days and working can become draining, but this is ridiculous. Looks like it's just been going downhill for years. Worst usps ever, refuse to check the tracking with the computer and directly ignore my question, very rude n gross attitude

I use usps on the regular because I resell. It baffles my mind why they still have not installed a kiosk for this usps. This usps has the highest traffic, consistently had lines out the door, and is consistently understaffed. Very typical for them to have only 1-2 staff members working counters. I wish usps headquarters would put a kiosk in so it could relieve some of the burden on the workers. I just waited 20 minutes in line to get prepaid label packages scanned just to have to walk away before getting to the counter because I was going to be late for work. Boston - Symphony Post Office I just want to give some shouts out to Tanya, the postal clerk at the Boston/Mass Ave (Symphony area) post office. She is not only almost always in a good mood (or just highly professional to know better than to let her job get to her..) but most importantly she is very knowledgeable and helpful. She's helped me more than a couple of times where now I must ask for her by name. She especially helps me ship off boxes full of miscellany for relatives. She's so cool--she helps me assemble the boxes and never makes me buy the post office packing tape -- she just uses the one that they have behind the counter. Isn't that nice? Anyway, I just really wanted to send some props out to this sweet person! read more

This post office is located on Mass Ave near the Christian Science Center in Boston. I think some of these reviews may be for a different location. Yes, it is busy. DO NOT go here on your lunch hour, that's when everyone else in the neighborhood is here. Due to the proximity of Northeastern and Berklee, Boston Conservatory and NEC, there are always international students with complicated boxes in front of you in line who take precious time while you watch your lunch hour ticking away. The staff know what they are doing and they are patient but it can be infuriating if you are in a hurry. I'm not sure I know why they got rid of their self-serve package mailing machine, that was very convenient because usually it had a much shorter line than the counter service. read more

This post office is the closest to where I work, so I usually end up going here. Here's the trick to using this post office: you have to go here at odd times. Either the early morning or maybe mid-morning or in the evening just before closing time. Otherwise, you're bound to get stuck in a line full of elderly folks and foreign students from Berklee and NEC. And trust me, that line is LONG and SLOW. You know what would help that line? A self-service package center. I've seen them in other post offices. Why don't they have one here?? And a stamp vending machine. That would be amazing. Please? read more

I dread going to the post office. I haven't yet mastered the art of going at a quiet time and end up being there when the line's out the door. BUT at this particular location, the people are speedy. Hella speedy! Quick story about Bobby, the guy who helped me at the counter: I was shipping a stuffed animal, grabbed the first box that didn't look huge, wrote all the contact information and asked to have it sent. Bobby looked at the stuffed animal, looked at the box, and told me it'd be way cheaper to put it in a smaller box. He tried the USPS boxes and eventually went in back and found a used recycled cardboard box. Instead of having to pay $12, I only had to pay $3 to ship something to Texas. Bobby really went out of his way to help me and for that, 5 stars!!! read more

I showed up this morning to pick up my missing package. They were like just staring at me without any fake smile. I supposed that they didn't have enough sleep last night or something else. Addition to that, their services are terrible and ridiculous as well. They behave lazily and unpleasantly. Definitely a one star postal office I have been to. My experiences with the staff here have not been pleasant or productive. The staff are not aware of current USPS products--especially USPS's collaboration with Fedex for package delivery (Fedex ships...USPS delivers to your house, a great idea in theory). Looking for a lost package, the clerk was unwilling/unable to lookup my Fedex tracking number, but instead gave me a tiny sheet of paper with 3 phone numbers on it to call supervisors who work...somewhere else...I called the numbers, 2 vmailboxes were full. I left a message with the third mystery manager, and am not holding my breath for a response. read more

"Eek! Methinks not." really doesn't do justice to the experience myself and four other of my roommates have shared thus far with our local USPS carrier/provider. I'm a very happy go-lucky guy who loves his social media and I look forward to writing many happy and helpful reviews for local businesses that should be recognized for their great business practices and customer service. However, in this event, this review will be real and honest. And honesty may come off a bit harsh and bitch-like. The USPS office on MASS AVE is terrible. One day our mail stops coming (last week). I share housing with 4 others girls (yes, a landfill full of estrogen) whom by of which also heavily rely on receiving important parcels of mail; obvious reasons. It's been 7 days, 4 phone calls, and legitimately over 2 hours worth of waiting on the phone for a supervisor to explain what's going on. Today was my 4th effort to reason with their customer service representatives and supervisor's but I am still to no avail concerning an explanation, moreover a plan of action to fix this. It's now resulted in me having to physically walk down there to find out in person why the hell they can't offer up an explanation as to why mail has seized to deliver and where all our mail for the past prior 7 days have gone. Management seems to be napping and customer service is completely lacking in any professional sense. If you live in Cambridge, see about reaching out to any and all other USPS offices, so as long as you can help it. read more

Very efficient post office. Sometimes there are not a lot of employees working and there is always a line. But the staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and quick. I usually get in and out in under 10 minutes even with 5 people in line! They always open on time at 8am so I can make it in on my way to work. Excellent! read more

I often have to ship things for my business and this USPS location is right across the street from my apartment. They have a large selection of envelopes and boxes to choose from which is very convenient. This location is always kept clean and the employees are extremely nice which surprised me because I've run into some very cranky and rude employees at other locations. I've also noticed how much cheaper it is to send things via the USPS compared to FedEx which is also a few minutes from me. My one complaint is that they usually only have one employee working the registers so even if you go on a Wednesday at 11 am, the line tends to back up quite a bit and it takes much longer than it should. I find that odd considering this is a location in the heart of a major city. It doesn't help that this location is near a few major universities so there are always international students sending complicated packages back home. Again, very friendly employees, very clean location but be prepared to wait. read more

It actually might be good for you to go here just to see how amazing slow a postal worker can be. This is like "Third World" bad. It doesn't matter what time of day or day of year. You'd better have some time to kill. Also prepare to watch the employees torture you with their sloth like movements as they ring up the dozens of customers in line ahead of you. I reccomend going just to get an idea of how bad it can get. If you're trying to find a way to kill an entire lunch hour this place is awesome. read more

Staff here and very friendly. There is a long wait if you come in certain hours, I personally use prepaid labels and just drop my packages off, better than waiting. USPS delivery is good and reliable and cheap. Most of the packages I send are delivered very fast, however in rare instances USPS could delivery to wrong address or take more time to delivery. If you are sending items internationally , make sure to use the express service (most expensive), the first class and priority services are cheap but very bad choice for international shipments . read more

The staff at this location know everyone. This is a pretty large neighborhood that serves many businesses, and Church Park and the residents all around. All of them are super friendly, T, G, B, V, all are fantastic and they play good music so the wait in line is never too bad. They also, which I so appreciate tell you the prices from most economical, to the most expensive so you can cut through the chase. This location is really the upbeat dynamic of the staff. read more

Shippers....please offer other options for package delivery. With USPS evidently 2 day Priority Express, which you pay extra for, does not mean it will arrive in two days. They should say it could arrive in 2 days, but they don't guarantee it at all. And when you check their website they say not to contact them until after 5 days. BTW, their 2 days from when I ordered something was three days. It came in 4 days. I am a big boy and can handle the news, albeit disappointing, that something called Priority Express will not arrive for 5 or 6 days, but heck just tell me that upfront. When will we close this operation down and privatize it? It;s a big waste of taxpayer dollars and doesn't even compete with the likes of UPS and Fedex. They just pretend to. Would it kill you to take your breaks after the rush, instead of having one person handling every one of them, at a glacial pace, chit-chatting with each customer like time has stopped. Especially when the customers can hear the other agents laughing in the back. I appreciate the friendliness but would gladly replace it for a more practical approach to scheduling. read more

I have been there number of times and never had issues with the service. However, the staff is not very vigilant about handling important documents. They didn't even send out my EAD card for delivery, and marked the package as "addressee not found" in spite of the fact that I updated my address on usps website and confirmed it with them. I also received all my mails on the same address for one year without any issues. But they sent back my card to USCIS. It has now been over 4 months that I am waiting for my card to me mailed back to me and USCIS is not sending me my card due to delays and I am unemployed although I have a job offer. One mistake of this post office staff has been very burdensome to me. So take extra care in updating your address if you live in this proximity. read more

I was running across the street (luckily didn't get hit by a car too), and the guy saw me but he locked the doors in my face anyway. It was three minutes earlier than the official closing time! OK, it's not that much, but still, I should've been let in. The clerks there are alright, the one woman is much more cheerful and better than the other guy who seems to be dreading his job. Overall good service, compared to all the painful ones I dealt with before- and people wonder why they're going bankrupt. SAVE THE USPS!! (Nahhh.. This is closest post office to me, so I'm forced to go to it, but I don't mind. All the employees that I've ever had are friendly and helpful. Sometimes the line gets really long, but I've never waited for more than 10 minutes. However, if you're close to a post office in a less busy location I would recommend going there instead, because sometimes the line is out the door. read more

I almost like this post office, it gets backed up sometimes, but they try to keep the lines moving. Tanya is really nice, professional and happy, and you dont see that often from the USPS employees.
