A part of the job interview process at the USPS located in the lobby of The Longwood building has…read moreto be a single question: "How much do you hate your life?" - if the answer is "I hate everyone and everything" then you automatically get hired. I am stuck coming to this post office location often because my work takes me into the Longwood Medical Area. There is ALWAYS a lineup because of 3 reasons: 1) They don't open when they say they will. The window says they open at 8:30AM, but whoever actually opens the post office operates on vacation time. They roll in whenever they roll in, which I have seen to be as late at 8:45AM. 2) They are the laziest employees in history. Seriously. Sylvester takes 5 minutes to type in one address. Branden is too busy watching YouTube videos on his phone. Lady is too busy eating her lunch at the register to look up and see the lineup forming. 3) They take extended breaks. I have been in line for 30 minutes (no exaggeration) and someone leaves their register when I arrive to "take a bathroom break" and doesn't come back for a half hour. This USPS location is the epitome of "government job security." No one cares about customer service, and you annoy them when you ask them to do anything. Avoid this location if you can, and go somewhere where the staff don't hate you.

This post office is ok and I would only come here for convenience. As other yelpers have mentioned,…read morethe postal workers here are rude and not friendly but they are able to get you in and out in a timely fashion. If you want someone who will do your packaging or give you a huge smile, go to another location. So it's not my go to post office, but they get the job done.

I can understand why this PO has such low reviews ... based on my first experiences at this…read morelocation a year ago ... which were slow and unfriendly memories. However, recentlyyyyy I've been to this location twice, and it's been a really pleasant experience ... even with it being around the holidays. Both times, I've had "Anan" (I think that's his name ... so sorry if it's not.), and THIS MAN DESERVES A RAISE!!! Not only is he assertive and efficient, he's also really friendly and ... happy with everyone. Not characteristics you often see from PO employees ... sadly. Both times, I've come in with 10+ packages to mail out, and both times, he's helped me with a smile on his face and with friendly conversation. Such a relief ... since honestly ... I got anxious having to take so many packages to be mailed. Didn't know if I would be met with visible annoyance and a rude attitude, but ... pleasantly and surprisingly, I was not. He brightened my day both days. Regarding "value" or this place ... it's a PO. Do I think prices are higher than they were before? Sure. Is there anything that can be done about it? I don't think so. Just glad that we still have mail delivery.

USPS delivery claims can't be trusted. My delivery of live plants was delayed because of Friday…read moresnow, that's okay...rescheduled for the next day, Saturday, in which the office building (Brighton) is open until 6pm. There I am waiting in my office, then shortly before 2pm the status is updated to 'next business day' because of the lie 'that a delivery was attempted but bldg was closed'. This building with couple dentist offices has people coming in and out all afternoon. Why was there no attempted delivery slip left? Isn't the real truth the carrier just wanted to work a half day and go home?!
