Carlos came to our house, on a holiday no less, and talked about what we wanted to do and provided a quote later. He was thorough, providing suggestions about how to approach a problem: framing out our decidedly builder-grade windows to tie in with the board-and-batten we wanted. And then there was the huge, floor-to-ceiling built-in-bookshelves project we wanted him to tackle with stain-grade wood. Through the whole process, from concept to completion, Carlos checked with us about what we wanted. He made changes when needed and was respectful about our wishes. Everything he did mattered to him. All his choices were thoughtful: with materials, trimming out the board and batten and windows and building the bookshelves. With the cabinet bottoms for four of the bookcases, he chose something with a nice wood grain and matched the doors up. It looks so good and now we need to respect the wood with a stain that will allow the beauty to come through. The result is something out of my dreams. Solid, classy bookshelves with some cabinets and even a couple cabinets with plexiglass doors. As Carlos said, we could drive a truck on these bookshelves now. No disrespect to the IKEA hackers, but I wanted something solid that would last a lifetime, out of real wood. Carlos custom-made the bookshelves -- no prefab cabinets. He was great with communication, both in person and by text when he was on his way for the day. He was always on time or even early. He has a great sense of humor and found us funny too, which is nice to have when you have someone working in your house for a while. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. River City Carpentry provided good quality service and a great value. Now I'm looking forward to the next step of getting our shelves stained and our board and batten and the rest of the room painted.

BTW: ALL US BANKS WERE CLOSED~Ooooof, i.e., I couldn't give Carlos a Cashier's Check for the initial deposit; I had no choice but, submitting a cash deposit instead . . . Aside, the scheduled door installation date was for November 24, 2023, i.e., on time as scheduled--of course and indeed confirmed days prior. During the door installation installing two doors, I was enthralled with Carlos adjusting the "X & Y axis" for bedroom door~LOL . . . Which Carlos called, ". . . plumbed." Regardless, Carlos is an expert, indeed! I plan hiring Carlos when I receive my EDC building permit for converting a Tuff Shed into an ADU.

We went through several design concepts and he worked to incorporate my ideas and was honest about the ideas he didn't think would be practical. In the end, I have a beautiful work of art in my dining room that's uniquely crafted and one of a kind. Working with Stuart was so enjoyable and he kept me updated with his progress with pictures and texts. Our dining table will be a focal point for family dinners and gatherings for many years and because it is handcrafted makes it even more special. I am already thinking of new projects for Stuart to create for our home!

Needed soundproofing for my in-law unit bedroom wall that is shared with the main home kitchen and…read moreliving room. Since I only could access the in-law unit bedroom wall side, I requested mineral wool, two layers of quietrock with green glue in between. Many contractors did not want to do the two layers of quietrock and didn't think the green glue was necessary. Do It Now Drywall immediately recommended all these as the best option for my wall. They were professional, prompt, courteous, experienced, and completed the whole job from prep to cleanup and even help me painted the wall with reasonable pricing. They made sure to insulate the electric outlets and used acoustic caulking to seal all gaps. Pleased with the results as I can watch movies at a decent enjoyable volume without disturbing the in-law bedroom.

They have the products we are interested in, measured a model house and provided a quote. We found another installer that called them for a quote for the wood and The Floor Store salesman told the installer "they can't make up their mind" and provided him The Floor Store quote for our installation; cost us money and ultimately we purchased the flooring elsewhere. They provided our personal information to the installer we found. The Floor Store salesman is either petty or is ignorant of law.

I called in the afternoon stressed out, sent photos over text, and Jonathan patiently worked with me to identify the exact match to our existing floors. By the very next morning, he had already confirmed the match, sourced it, and had everything ready for pickup that same morning. The turnaround time and customer service were honestly incredible. Thank God Jonathan was so patient, responsive, and knowledgeable. He truly went above and beyond to source the flooring ASAP and saved our project timeline. Our floor was torn up in a hallway/master bath & master bedroom due to a flood. We were looking for someone to pull up floor from the spare bedroom and use the pieces to patch the remaining parts that were damaged due to a flood. He arrived and talked through our options with us and got back to us in a reasonable time to schedule & get to work. We had a quote from another floor guy but we really liked Josh & his quote was great so we were in. The work itself took about a day a half and the patchwork was seamless. He was able to reuse many of the floor pieces to fix the main areas and we are now off to get the remaining bedroom carpeted. We woulda went with him for this as well but that was outside of his scope. Nevertheless the job was done below budget and quickly might I add. He also fixed a linen cabinet that had been removed due to the water damage. He was meticulous and thorough in cutting and replacing the baseboards as well. We cannot recommend him highly enough.
