Fresh and delicious! I was in the area and stopped by here for lunch as I saw online that they had gluten free sandwiches. After I shared that I have allergies to gluten, dairy & egg, they recommended the tofu banh mi sandwich, substituting the tofu for chicken (since I'm not vegan). The bread was amazing, warm and soft, did not fall apart! And the flavors of the banh mi sandwich were incredible! Would definitely come back here again to try their salads and bowls. When we walked in, the staff made us feel so welcome! The manager Rob went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. He was incredibly friendly, offered great menu recommendations, and checked in to make sure everything was perfect. The food was absolutely delicious the fresh baked focaccia bread was amazing! We tried the Pastrami Tri Tip and the Mediterranean Bowl everything tasted so fresh and well balanced. The warm chocolate chip cookies and the white chocolate cranberry cookies were the perfect end to our meal. I have worked near by for years and have recently become bored of the food options nearby. I was very please when Urbane Cafe opened as this is right up my alley. I love all things sandwiches. And they have such a great variety from Chicken to Turkey to Beef to Vegetarian options. So far I've tried the Chimichurri Steak, Turkey Cranberry Brie, Pastrami Tri Tip, and the Chicken Pesto & Sun-dried Tomato sandwiches. Every single sandwich was amazing! No complaints! I have been going back to the chimichurri steak one though. As soon as you come in you're instantly greeted with friendly smiles (and nothing that seems forced either). Food comes out in minutes of ordering they are so fast! Inside is nice and clean. My ONLY complaint is I wish there were more standard height tables. As one evening I brought my grandma and toddler and since there is only 2 standard height tables we ate outside. However that's not on the staff and that is on who ever gave the ok for so many bar height tables. This place is 100% worth the try! I've been coming so often staff is starting to recognize me like Korrea! She is a great example of friendly service! From taking my order, to being the one to making the food, and always checking how everything was. Also 2 gentleman that I'm assuming are the managers/supervisors they love have also been great! Throwing in a free cookie here and there. I'm also in food service and it's the little things like that that help build the relationship from the business to the customer and keep them coming back just due to how friendly everyone is! Holy moly! I just ate the whole bowl. As soon as I walked in, I was welcomed by everyone. They were busy and I can see why. First timer and definitely won't be the last. Amazing experience! I ordered a sandwich with gluten free bread and Jessica asked if I had a food allergy or if it was a preference. I have an allergy and Jessica went above and beyond to ensure that the food I ordered was gluten free. I ordered a salad as well and she subbed out one of the ingredients that had gluten. New place right off the 22 and Main Street exit. I ordered the Power Veggie Salad, and I liked it alot. Lots of fresh vegetables and the roasted sweet potatoes is something new to me for salad. The bread that came with the salad reminded me of focaccia. I tried avoiding carbs, but I couldn't say no to free fresh bread. They also gave me a mini chocolate cookie while I waited for my togo order. The cookie was very soft and not to sweet. Will definitely return to try their other stuff soon. read more

I had a big lunch and wanted something a little lighter for dinner. I noticed that this place took the place of a Rubio's, which was a go to for me for lighter fare. So happy to have found this place! I ordered the Santa Maria chicken salad and added tri-tip to it. It's one of the best salads I've had in a long time! And the bread that comes with it... OMG - to die for! On top of all this, the customer service was next level. There is a high "give-a-sh!t" factor and our host "Max(?)" was just terrific and did his best to engage and make us feel wanted, valued and special. Since it was Veterans Day and in our conversation, he discovered that I'm a vet, , he even blessed us with a complementary chocolate chip cookie, which was fantastic, BTW.! I first found out about this chain when I was visiting the SLO area. The food was very good and I really liked that I didn't end up feeling bloated after having their bowls, which tends to happen with other restaurants. I was psyched to find out that this OC location existed! Service is always friendly. I've never dined in, only takeout orders, so I can't say much about the ambiance but it has looked very clean whenever I walk in there. I ordered the salmon bowl which was phenomenal. I don't know what the sauce is made of but it pairs perfectly with all the toppings. The turkey sandwich with brie was also mind blowing. A perfect combo of sweet and salty, not overdone on either end. The staff was super welcoming. I ordered the Southwest with Fresno chilies and pickled onions and the So Cal with herb aioli instead of chipotle. It was so flavorful. I am so happy they opened this location! My favorite lunch spot! The chimichurri steak sandwich with a side of fresh arugula salad with mandarin oranges is amazing as well as their tomato bisque soup with a side of amazing soft focaccia bread that our baby had. The second we walked in, the entire staff greeted us, and the manager Rob kindly introduced himself to us at our table. Their fountain drinks are unique and so good. We had the dragonfruit agua fresca. Their warm baked cookies are delicious. Also, this place is extremely clean and has a nice vibe with music. To start off, I've never really been the type of person that leaves reviews for places, but I just HAD to come on here and give this place 5 stars as well as quickly rant about just how amazing they are! My partner and I were really craving a good salad to combat this intense heat we've all been experiencing lately and were instantly intrigued by this place because of the menu and overwhelming amount of positive reviews! I ended up getting the Santa Maria BBQ Chicken salad and let me just say, this was easily one of the BEST salads I have ever had! Each component was fresh, full of flavor, and worked together beautifully to create an exceptional salad! One of my favorite parts was the chicken, which was sliced into thin strips and perfectly cooked--not dry at all! Aside from the food, the service was impeccable from the workers and inside of the restaurant was very clean and classic looking! I will absolutely be coming back here asap for that Santa Maria BBQ Chicken salad again--I cannot stop thinking about it! Go and support this awesome place if you haven't already, it's so worth it! Walked in on a whim to the one in San Diego 2 days ago & tried the Portobello Mushroom Sandwich & let my husband try a bite, to which his response was, "That is actually so good I would order that!" Was so excited to find out that one just opened here a month ago so I had to go back for more today! I ordered the Mediterranean Bowl that comes with focaccia bread. It's SO yummy! My hubby got the SoCal Sandwich that comes with a side salad & a delicious vinaigrette. He said it was actually too big for him to finish! And apparently they are known for their freshly baked cookies that they keep baking throughout the day so they're always hot & fresh! Had to try one & couldn't resist nibbling on it while I was waiting for my order- they're just like Granny used to make! :) The place is as clean & fresh as the food tastes & all the employees are super friendly!
