Waffles can get a little pricy if you get carried away with the toppings but overall, with the ube boba I ordered, everything tasted extremely good while the presentation was pleasing. I can say the place is cute and good concept. Maybe their food and desserts are better than the Taro Slush Bubble Tea. I was disappointed at $6 a pop. The taro wasn't as strong as I would've liked and asked for extra Taro. The blend/slush part was the consistency of 7/11 slushie. The bubbles had a funny taste to them. The bubble tea is great! The bubbles are the correct consistency, and the tea is not too sweet(even though I got the Thai iced tea). It's really good, the portions are perfect, and I really enjoyed how you knew it was fresh. I also ordered the mango sticky rice, when the mangos were in season, and they were ripe and juicy with the sticky rice. All of this took only about 15 minutes, which makes it great for a quick bite. This is by far the best bubble tea I have ever had. The atmosphere is so cute and everything that I have tried from the menu is phenomenal! Closed on Monday and that gives me the same sadness as when Chick-fil-A is closed on Sunday the owner is so so so sweet and all the items for sale are adorable and reasonably priced. I heard about this place from a friend and when I heard a tea place that just opened in Nutley, I had to check it out before going back home. As a bubble tea lover and overall tea drinker from the city, this place is not too bad. I ordered a mango fruit tea with the tapioca pearls and it was not too bad. I especially like their tapioca pearls because it doesn't feel too chewy or too hard, basically just right. I also ordered a milk tea for my brother and a passionfruit tea for my mom. My brother liked the milk tea, definitely different from the bubble tea in the city but it's not too bad. I loved their aesthetic inside and I feel like it would be a good study area as well. LOVE THIS SPOT I searched for bubble tea places in the past and was mostly led to franchises that were just mediocre and a huge disappointment (the teas are either washed out or way too sweet and the boba mushy) Then a friend told me about Urban Leaf and I'm forever grateful! He recommended trying the FROZEN UBE OREO which I absolutely loved. Its a blend of Oreo cookie and Ube (a purple yam from the Philippines) whose flavors compliment each other in a light and refreshing way. Not too sweet which I loved and the boba had the perfect chew. Other than the Ube Oreo theres a variety of options including a Thai tea, which I'm looking forward to trying next. The boba tea is nothing to write home about, but if you're craving some and don't wanna venture too far then it's a decent choice. What I do keep coming back here for is the dessert waffles. I love to read the reviews before I post one.. You have to laugh at some of them.. "I will never pay $5 for 2 spam sliders again".. I mean, I have never tried them but for $5 I wouldn't stress even if I didn't like them. I am not made of money but you can't even buy a happy meal for $5! Well, maybe but that would be gross! As for the owners being Filipino.. and you felt a disconnect because you were a "mixed race couple", get over it.. the owners are a mixed race couple. (psstt...they are not both Filipino. I found this out with asking questions..) Maybe it's you who put up a wall and they couldn't break through.. I am white (almost albino).. I went with 2 Puerto Ricans..( and I am abnormally tall - gorgeous without question!) We were treated awesome.. I have never had bubble tea.. they helped me make a decision and it was delish! My friend Sandra always talks about it and now she has me addicted.. taking my little dragons there soon for the waffles.
