Indoor

Super cool place and vibe with retail items for sale but no available indoor/outdoor seating when we came to try out the bubble waffle and ice cream. We don't live nearby to take it to go; so we tried the taro bubble milk tea and went somewhere else that has a indoor/outdoor seating to enjoy our bubble waffles with ice cream so unfortunately we can't rate what we wanted to eat from here--hope they will have indoor seating soon, it'd still love to come back and try the bubble waffle with ice cream! Taro bubble milk tea was delicious but could be better with less ice and more tea which I'm sure you could ask for like most places.

More Anime products/decor

Went to Urban Leaf the other they since I saw they serve SPAM on their menu so I ordered the 3 different SPAM food items they have: SPAM and cheese sliders on a pandesal bread, SPAM Musubi and SPAM-Nori bowl. Also ordered the Ube Oreo Frozen Bubble Tea which I enjoyed. But back to the SPAM. The slider wasn't anything special (easy to eat driving though), pandesal bread was good. The SPAM-Nori bowl was good and I liked their take on the SPAM Musubi. It's a nice little cafe with anime stuff. Would come here again and try the bubble waffles and eat in next time.

I've come here for bubble tea only. But I love it... Luckily during the pandemic, they have had curbside pick up. They have plenty of parking. Easy pick up. Great bubble tea!

Urban Leaf is a fantastic addition to Clifton. Fun bubble tea flavors and desserts. The star of the show is their teas. Tons and tons of options. I'd definitely try a hot tea next time and hang out here with a book. The staff was super friendly and even let me try the white boba which I had never even heard of. It was delicious and I got it in an iced black tea with lychee jelly as well. Super creative and delicious. The matcha tea was great as well. You can taste the real matcha flavor in it. They have tons of dessert options too. A few savor dishes are offered here too. This seems like a great place to come and catch up with a friend over a tea or a date night for a quick dessert. There's a few tables and tons of parking. I'll be back to try their hot teas for sure.

I really enjoyed the vibe of this place. Very serene meets I'm about to eat enough delicious calories to take a nap and not wake up for a few hours. I had the purple clouds waffle and it was really good. I wish the waffle had more of a crisp to it, I kinda thought it was going to be hollow inside but it wasn't. The ube ice cream was delicious. I tried my wife's green tea ice cream waffle and for me the ice cream lacked sweetness but don't listen to me I don't like green tea, so the jury can erase that from the record. My kids really enjoyed the funfetti waffle too. Next time I go I might get a shake as those looked good af. Overall this was a good after dinner dessert spot with plenty of parking.

This quaint cafe is a gem, and has convenient online ordering in the midst of establishing our new normal! I ordered for takeout on Seamless, and upon arrival, our order was already packaged and ready to go. Very minimal wait time compared to similar cafes in the area. We ordered the green ranger waffle -- a soft and fluffy bubble waffle topped with Oreo crumbs, chocolate syrup, green tea ice cream and whipped cream. These bubble waffles remind me of warm summer days in the city! It was also the perfect consistency - not dry and not too soft that the ice cream compromises the structural integrity. The soba noodles were super tasty -- a relatively simple recipe but hit the spot. Wish the portion were just a tad bigger. Would def come back to try their bubble tea, since there what so many of the reviews rave about!

Mango Delight

This is an awesome little gem in Nutley with great desserts! I got to try the Pandesal Ice Cream Sandwich with Ube ice cream and the Mango Delight. Both were great desserts! I would highly recommend the Pandesal Ice Cream Sandwich. The nice sweet bread underneath the delicious Ube ice cream makes for a great combination! I like how they also toast the Pandesal giving it a bit more of a crunchy texture to go with your smooth ice cream. The Mango Delight is like a quadruple mango of mango ice cream, mango popping boba, mango ice, and mango pieces! I liked everything in it but I felt like the price point of it was pretty steep so I don't think I'd get it again but I think its worth a try for sure! The place has a decent amount of seating and Wifi if you wanted to study there! I for sure want to come back and try their yummy looking food the next time I get a chance! The service was great! The workers are helpful and there is a bit of a wait for food at times but they will let you know. They have a kinda small lot out front where you can park!

Mango Bubble Milk Tea and French Pressed Jasmine Green Tea

FIRE BUBBLE TEA SPOT! I was craving some bubble tea around the north jersey area and stumbled upon this spot! I'm SOOO HAPPY I decided to give it a try because my taste buds are asking me to come back again LOL I came here this past Saturday and to my surprise this place offers non dairy milk for all their milk bubble tea options. This is extremely hard to find when you only drink non dairy milk. I want to give a shout-out to the owners for doing this!!! Since my favorite bubble tea flavor is mango milk tea I went ahead and ordered this for myself hoping that it would be really good. And shockingly it was better than I had imagined - The milk tea itself wasn't overly sweet, it was just perfect but when you try the tapioca it has this really amazing sweet and chewy taste to it! IT WAS SOOOOO SOOO GOOD, def now one of my top favorite bubble tea spots in this area! I also ordered my bf the French Pressed Jasmine Green Tea and he said it was also really good. I also really liked how big the size is for under $3! I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone in the area looking for their next favorite bubble tea spot, a 100/5 rating for me!!!

Egg waffle with ube ice cream and whipped cream

Stopped by for dessert and thoroughly enjoyed it! The egg waffle is hard to make without it becoming dry or tough, so great job making a formula that stays moist and absorbent! It soaked up the ube ice cream and whipped cream very well. It was served piping hot and the portion size was good for the price. This local joint has a variety of food dishes I would want to try as well. Though this place probably won't be my go-to, I'll definitely be coming back to get these warm and fluffy egg waffles (and maybe try other things too lol). I think this location benefits from being in a very suburban area because it is good, but would probably struggle against bigger branded joints in more Asian-population dense urban areas where customers might be accustomed to better presentation. I am taking off a star for interior design and presentation. Cafes tend to be social spots where people meet or study in groups..but the decor here was visibly cheap. They used the cheapest dining set available on ikea (I verified this) and the store was far more sparse and uncomfortable than most cafes. Adding some mood lighting, cushions, and wall decorations would seriously improve my desire to stay here rather than grab my food/drink and go. Furthermore, the boba tea here looks pretty unphotogenic. As long as it tastes good, it shouldn't matter but yeah..I think urban leaf would benefit from better decor and better branding. TLDR The egg waffle is clutch! The vibe is meh!

Bubble waffle with ube ice cream and crumbled Oreos

Nice to find an Asian/Filipino Cafe in Nutley. I go there for their Ube ice cream desserts such as their ube ice cream pandasal sandwich and their bubble waffle topped with ube ice cream. Very unique desserts that you typically don't find in the suburbs. Also enjoyed their Spam Masubi. Haven't had that since my trip to Hawaii. Nicely done. The place is roomy and service is friendly and aloof at the same time. Rooting for this place.

I really like this place to work if I can. I come here for everything except the bubble tea. I'm a grown @ss man.I should not consume anything with the word bubble. I like their savory spam dishes and I always get a large tea because it served in a French press just how I do it home. There's plenty of outlets and wifi to work. Bathroom is clean. Don't over stay your welcome. Buy something every hour. In my case every 30 mins bc #AlwaysHungry. They use $SQ

Taro Bubble Milk Tea

Urban Leaf was the first ever cafe in Nutley to serve bubble tea drinks starting in 2018. No matter how many bubble tea places pop up in the area, they are still the original spot with a great selection of different bubble teas, fruit teas, black teas and a curated menu of unique food. My go to order is a taro bubble tea with tapioca and an order of the spam musubi. Owners and staff are always friendly and willing to answer any questions about the menu. Indoor seating has now reopened. I will always support Urban Leaf and happily recommend it to friends and family.

My boyfriend and I have found our new go-to dessert cafe! We originally came here for the first time to satisfy a bubble tea craving, but after browsing their menu, we opted for the Pandesal Ice Cream Sandwich (I ordered it with ube ice cream) and the Mango Delight which consists of diced mangos, mango juice, mango boba, and mango ice cream. After tasting a bite of each, my little Filipino heart was ecstatic! They both tasted beyond delicious and we wound up devouring it all. We're going to have to come back to order everything else - especially the Spam Masubi, bubble waffle, and bubble teas! The Ube Oreo and Green Tea Oreo bubble teas are calling our names. The owners, Victor and Michelle, were so kind and fun to talk to. Prices are great. Decor is simple yet beautiful and cozy. Free WiFi. Plenty of parking in the lot. What more could you ask for? My only concern is the limited seating. Urban Leaf has a spacious interior, but only 5 tables. Hopefully we don't wind up coming on a busy night.

The dragonfruit white tea was delicious and smelled so good

Took 30 minutes to get two small drinks: a plain hot tea and a hot coffee... and one of them was barely lukewarm.

Are their bubble teas dairy free?

Yes they have non dairy options for all there milk tea bubble teas! Totally recommend this place, I just went here on Saturday and loved it!

Is it possible to get green tea boba without the Oreo?

We have a matcha (green tea) bubble milk tea.

What sauce do they put on the spam Musubi?

Apparently it's top secret but I did manage to get the cashier to divulge that it's a sweet & spicy sauce

Since Yemeni coffee and tea options aren't common for everyone, they take the time to explain the menu and answer questions, which I really appreciated. However, the Adeni Chai was the only saving grace of the visit. It was flavorful and well made, but the coffee was a massive disappointment. I tried the Jubani after the staff described it as a delicious light-roasted coffee packed with caffeine, but in reality, it tasted like bland cardamom water with absolutely no coffee flavor or body. It felt like I was just drinking hot spiced water. The atmosphere was also a major issue as there was no seating available whatsoever. The crowd was mostly of Middle Eastern descent and many were incredibly rude; people will bump right into you and not say a word. Even worse was the way some customers spoke to the workers, it was absolutely deplorable. Honestly, who raised you? It was uncomfortable to witness. The dessert selection was even worse. Most of what we ordered felt stale and old. The only thing worth eating was the bubble dessert with cheese because they actually toast it. We tried both the pistachio milk cake and the pistachio dream cake, and neither was impressive. The khattafi in the pistachio dream was the biggest letdown; it was so stale and bland I can't believe they actually put it out to sell when it was clearly weeks if not months old. The basboosa was also a disappointment, as it was a very small square of semolina cake for almost $5. Overall, It is not a good place for coffee or desserts, so if you do go, stick strictly to the Adeni chai.

The place was packed with a lot of people enjoying their evenings with their families and friends, so that was nice to see. After waiting in line for less than 5 minutes the staff took our order. It came in two cups without dairy but I feel like adding cream would have made it more viscous. We didn't find a table to sit at as it was busy but found a bench to share space. Everyone was super chill and we even were given extra almond oat milk to add. I didn't finish the whole cup but it was a memorable experience.

They also have beautiful garden seating. I ordered Turkish coffee, fresh grapefruit juice, Gurmanski dorucak, mini burek with spinach and cheese, and fruit cake. I love Turkish coffee and this was very good. The juice was tart and delicious. The breakfast platter was a showstopper. Two fried eggs, tomato, feta, two meat patties, and homemade bread. The flavors of the meat blew my mind. Who knew that Croatians make the most delicious burgers. This is a hearty and fantastic dish. Also, the burek was flaky and light and not very mini. I took home the cake and enjoyed it later. Light, delicate and not overly sweet, this was a star. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, you should stop in for any meal. Cafe Bubamara delivers a warm, attentive dining experience with service that feels both welcoming…read moreand well-organized. Seating is first-come, first-served, and guests are placed based on availability, which keeps things fair and efficient even during busy times. The tables for two are intimate and cozy, perfect for conversation, though they can become a bit tight when ordering several dishes at once. That said, the staff was attentive and checked in often enough to clear plates and make room, which made the experience much more comfortable. The dessert menu is separate, allowing guests to enjoy their meal at an unhurried pace before deciding on something sweet. Their beverage offerings are thoughtfully presented. Herbal tea options include green tea, chamomile, and English tea (Stash), and the tea is served in a container that provides two full servings. The cappuccino is well made and served with a sugar crystal stick, adding a distinct old-world charm that enhances the café's European feel. I regret not asking for an additional order of Turkish coffee so that's a regret . What we ordered: * Greek Salad - $18.50 * Cappuccino - $6.80 * Herbal Tea - $6.00 * Uštipci - $17.25 * Musaka - $22.95 * Šnicla (Cutlet Sandwich) - $20.75 * 2 Diet Cokes - $8.00 The musaka is a baked dish and does take about 25 minutes to prepare, as it's made fresh with baked eggs, seasoned beef, and sliced potatoes layered on top. The wait is well worth it, resulting in a hearty, comforting dish that tastes authentically homemade. The Šnicla (cutlet sandwich) arrived beautifully presented on a wooden board, adding a rustic, elevated touch that matched the restaurant's aesthetic. Mom felt it lacked in seasoning but she Didnt leave any crumbs . The Uštipci were a standout--served with feta and honey, generously portioned, and so plentiful that we happily took some home. We were too full for dessert this time, but it's absolutely on the list for a return visit. Due to winter weather, we couldn't explore the back of the restaurant, but even from the main dining area, the decor is undeniably charming and full of character. Overall, Cafe Bubamara offers authentic flavors, generous portions, attentive service, and a cozy, old-world atmosphere that makes it a place worth revisiting.
