Came here on a Sunday night, one of the few ice cream spots open late. I ended up getting the Matcha Green Tea ($8.75) which comes with strawberry in the match ice cream and topped off with mochi and pocky sticks. Ice cream roll is made to order and always amazes me how they are made, the liquid turns into ice cream. Oddly satisfying, when the they roll the ice cream into a rolled up newspaper shape. The ice cream roll was really solid, it's a good amount of ice cream, bigger than it seems. I did come right before they closed (10pm), they didn't seem annoyed. I would recommend this place if you're in the mood for ice cream especially late at night. * Street parking * Open late read more

I wish I could give this place more stars because the owner and staff are very friendly. The first time I tried this place was just for regular ice cream, myself and my friend were surprised the ice cream didn't have much flavor and it was not creamy the way ice cream should be. Then recently I tried the taro bubble tea. I echo someone else's experience it was strangely lukewarm even though there was ice in it, and also the consistency was too watery. The taro flavor was lacking, I could tell from the color when it came out something was wrong. Didn't end up finishing more than a quarter of it. Maybe they have one specific item they're great at making, but it's really unfortunate the bubble tea is just bad and not up to quality. read more

Have been here on several occasions. I absolutely love Roll Thai'd and their staff. I always have a pleasant experience and they have the best bubble tea! I have started having mine with almond milk and it is just as delicious! Recently, they have added several Thai dishes to their menu. My husband and I enjoyed the drunken noodles with chicken and chicken pad Thai. Amazing and so flavorful! The location is always clean, quiet and again - amazing, hospitable staff Thank you Roll Thai'd! read more

The crew at Roll Thai'd Creamery were so friendly the evening my husband and I stopped in. We loved this place! He got a taro milk tea and I ordered the Cookie Monster for us to share. I had asked for a recommendation when I was at the register, and the staff took the time to suggest and were so nice. The Cookie Monster hit the spot. We sat at one of the tables inside the ice cream shop. The place was busy and bustling with customers. It's no wonder why! read more

Super unique, refreshing and delicious. A well deserved treat with a variety of customizable options and flavors. Summertime is arriving and you can be sure to catch me paying a visit here hopefully more than a couple of times. Friendly service in a bright environment with wonderful aromas and visuals. came here after dinner for dessert. plenty of street parking available in the area. there was absolutely no one here so we had the whole place to ourselves. we were able to order and get our ice cream in a timely fashion and chat the night away - plenty of table seating inside. they have a lot of options for ice cream (whether you want actual ice cream or rolled ice cream) as well as bubble waffle dessert and milk tea. i personally got the pink thai milk which tasted similarly to strawberry milk - with fruity pebbles and mochi for $8.75. there is a 3.5% credit card fee so i paid in cash. overall no complaints read more

I've been here around 5 times in 15 times I've been here. It's so nicely priced with huge and delicious servings. I've had the bubble tea, the rolled ice cream and the bubble waffle. Each one has blown me out of the water I don't even know what to recommend. You NEED to try this place it's amazing! read more

I have wanted to try this new spot since I first saw it opening, it seemed like a fun addition to town. I got the taro rolled ice cream, and I also tasted thai tea and matcha ice creams that my companions ordered. The taro flavor wasn't as prominent as I would have liked - the banana mix in seemed to overpower it. I think that's what gave it a bit of an odd flavor in my opinion (mainly just sweet). The Thai tea tasted better (especially the little bear nilla toppings), but I thought the matcha tasted the best of the three. The rolled ice cream was also difficult to eat as it was frozen solid. The plastic spoons weren't cutting it. Maybe it was so hard because of the bananas. I ended up leaving with half left thinking I'd have some a little later. I ended up just letting it melt. Both texture and flavor were off to me, but I also seemed to be having an off day. I might be back to try the bubble teas. It was also quite expensive. read more

Visited this spot this week for the first time and wanted to see what the line outside the door was all about. I've had rolled ice cream before, but this one tasted so much better! Not sure if it was the flavors I chose or the milk mixture they use as a base I tried the rocky road rolled ice cream. It comes topped with almond slices, mini marshmallows, and drizzled chocolate sauce (whipped cream is optional). I couldn't help but order a second dessert after seeing everyone walk out with what looked like and inverted waffle topped with ice cream. They have preselected combinations of Hong Kong egg bubble waffles that you can pick from or you can create your own. I tried the #9 Nutty Crunchy which was a sweet waffle made-to-order topped with 2 scoops of Butter Pecan ice cream, walnuts, almond slices, and caramel drizzle... speechless! It was great that they had both indoor and outdoor seating that's well maintained. I always appreciated that they sold cold water bottles (I find it strange that most dessert spots don't). read more

This place is a welcome addition for dessert on Park Ave in downtown Rutherford with lots of options for rolled ice cream, bubble waffles, and bubble tea on the menu! I tried the bubble waffle and liked it a lot - it was made to order so it was warm and lightly sweet, perfectly crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside. The Monkey Business rolled ice cream was great as well with the fresh bananas and caramel sauce. The staff is friendly here. I also appreciate that this business supports elephant sanctuaries! My only suggestion is that they should maybe look into investing in sturdier spoons. Since the rolled ice cream has a hard-frozen consistency, the thin plastic spoon they gave us kept bending in half which made it hard to scoop. Everything else was great though! read more

5 stars for kindness of management and hours of operation. Craving a late night boba or ice cream? This is the place! Their boba hits the spot too... I can never take a photo because I'm drinking it faster than I can snap. It's not as sweet as some other boba places and it has more of a tea taste to it but that's definitely something I crave sometimes! read more

It's hard for me to get into an ice cream mood and go to a shop with winter coming and the weather is cold, but the temperature outside hit like 60 degrees today and it felt like 80 so here I go get me some ice cream. So I tried this new rolled ice cream place in Rutherford, and the staff here is extremely friendly and personable and didn't mind me just walking around taking photos and asking questions, and if you need any advice on what to get, just ask then they got plantly of ideas. The ice cream, was like WOW! it's unique and absolutely delicious. For those that don't know, this is Thai-style rolled ice cream where they prepare the base and pour it out onto a frozen surface where it's mixed with finely chopped fruits and then formed into rolls. You can mix your own delicious dessert by adding your favorite fruits and ice cream flavors. read more

Love to support local and small businesses, so I wanted to try this new spot. Had my mind set on trying the rolled ice cream for the first time and then saw the cookies and cream ice cream and went for it instead. I've also never had a bubble waffle cone so thought I would try it out. The ice cream is homemade and tastes like it too. Creamy and delicious! At first I thought the cone was over cooked and was going to be crunchy, but it actually turned out to be perfect! Nice crisp on the outside and soft and chewy on the instead, paired perfectly with the ice cream. The staff was sweet, and explained to me the different options. They also sell bubble tea, but I will definitely be back to try their Thai rolled ice cream next time. I hope this place does well, and sticks around especially till the summer, I think it will really pick up. Only suggestion would be, in the day and age of instagram and tiktok, I highly suggest adding a neon light sign or something on the walls where people would want to come in to take photos. It's pretty plain right now. read more

The ice cream is YUMMY! My sister and I shared a matcha strawberry combination. It was the perfect amount to share! Not too sweet either. The bubble tea was not great though.. Roll Thai'd Creamery - two cups of ice cream - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Rutherford, New Jersey

This was really not for me. The ice cream has to be cold enough to be able to be shaped into rolls. It was difficult to eat with the plastic spoon, which was not strong enough to break off pieces of the ice cream with ease. The rocky road did not have a lot of flavor. There's no wifi in the establishment. Won't be going back. read more

Came here for ice cream but decided to try the bubble tea instead. I ordered the taro flavor and it cost about 6 dollars and some change. The bubble tea tasted very dilute to me, and didn't seem creamy as it should be for a milk tea. Flavor also didn't taste concentrated enough. Wouldn't be back for bubble tea but would try their ice creams next time ! read more

Ordered just a basic ice cream scoop of cookies n cream. It is all Hershey's ice cream. So was kind of disappointed it wasn't homemade being that it's called a creamery. It tasted ok and somewhat bland . A mini scoop was basically $5. Def won't be back. read more

Came here for their vegan options. They were able to make the Thai iced tea with Boba vegan and it came out amazing. Their vegan rolled ice cream was okay, but a little icy and not much flavor. Absolute zero in Montclair make vegan rolled ice cream that is amazing, so I was a little disappointed with this one. I appreciate them having vegan options, but I wish they worked on their ice cream a bit to add more flavor and texture. read more

I came here with a couple friends a few weeks ago as I wanted to try the rolled ice cream for the first time. This place did not disappoint! The rolled ice cream itself was creamy and sweet. The menu selection is quite large, with a variety of flavors and toppings to choose from. The staff were friendly and attentive, but be warned it takes 10 minutes or so for your order to be ready ( so be patient please!) It was fun to watch them make the rolled ice cream! There are a few tables inside and the yellow walls adds a bright element to the the experience! read more

Great find. Got there pretty close to close time, but unlike many other place they served you until they were actually closed. That's how business should honor their open hours. Not close 30 mins early or say kitchen closes 30 mins before closing hour. Just post the hours when you are not serving so we know not to go there. Kids that worked there were nice and pleasant too. read more

Only giving 2 starts because when we stopped by the staff seemed more busy entertaining each other than paying attention to the customers. They all seemed young and their were a lot of them behind the counter so it's not that it's more customers than employees and they can't catch up it was actually only the 3 of us in line with just one ice cream order, employees can make or break a business. My kid said he liked the ice cream but as a customer I was extremely disappointed with the fact we came second to all the joking and flirting read more
